Had a fun little trip to start our (her) herb garden this summer. Couldnt track down the citronella geraniums (helps keep the bugs away from our patio), but someone working there knew right where to find them! Beautiful place with beautiful staff ❤

Went to the Riverside Straders for plants. They had a great selection of mums corn shocks and other fall plants for a great price. The problem is that their associates arent very engaging. One in particular. The heavy set woman who works by the mums just really didnt want to be bothered. I asked ia few questions looking for mums and she just replied that theyre in there somewhere you just have to look. I thought it was just me at first but my wife noticed it also. However, the older cashier was really nice. Just stay from asking questions about mums

Friendly and very knowledgeable staff. They are helpful when you arent sure exactly what you need. We left with the perfect shrubs for our location along with the instructions needed to plant them correctly. You will never get this level of service from the big box hardware store

Great place to find houseplants. I’ve had hit or miss luck with how healthy my plants stay. They don’t always have the non-plant items I’m looking for, but their plant selection is pretty awesome!

Refills propane but doesn’t tell you it’s a flat rate charge. Even if your tank isn’t all the way empty it’s still 16.99. Uhaul is the better deal if looking for propane.

I come here for houseplants often and their quality and selection is always great. Fantastic assortment of pots and, soils and accessories. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Pretty good plant selection with several varieties not carried elsewhere. While the greenhouse staff are knowledgeable and friendly, the cashiers are apathetic and grumpy as a group. Looking through the reviews this seems to be a common complaint. Its a big enough detriment that I default to Oakland Nurseries instead.

Although they have a beautiful selection of plants I bought a gardenia that I brought home and found out it was infested with mealy bugs. I spent 6 weeks trying to treat and save it to no avail. I’m extremely sad but I’ve given up on trying to save it because it’s just not worth the time and effort it’s taking anymore.

Wont be shopping here anymore. This place has really gone down. The black female cashier was extremely rude, she always seems like shes in a bad mood. The line is always long no matter what time or day of the week I go. The staff in the green house always seem to want to avoid answering any of my questions. Please dont respond because obviously you wont fix the issues.

Nice selection.However, I had a very poor customer service experience. The cashier started checking out my items, and one of the plants didnt have a price. So she radioed someone, who said they were busy and instead of finding it herself she walked off and helped another customer wrap up their plants, leaving me standing there for 10 minutes. I asked a passing employee if he could help me, he said not my department, this place has gone to hell in a hand basket. ...I would find somewhere else to go.

Customer service was top notch, and selection of flowers is amazing. They deliver mulch too which is great for those who dont have a truck for transport.

Great selection of plants. I was there on thursday,may 13th at 2:30. The checkout line stretched almost to the back of the store. Only 1 register was open. Short staffed maybe?

We purchased over $150 worth of perennials today. We bought some hostas with other plants. When we checked out, one of the hostas did not have a price. The cashier was very rude. She was belligerent asking “well do you know the price or even what kind of hosta this is?” Then she took the plant and stormed off into the greenhouse to look for someone, saying under her breath, it’d be nice if people knew what they were doing. We told her to forget it but she had already left. Finally a nice lady came and checked us out. The original lady came back, threw the plant on the station and said the price. I know people are overworked and maybe don’t like working on a Sunday, but don’t take it out on customers. We indirectly pay the salaries of the workers.

Had a few good looking plants but man was everything expensive...the same palms they had on sale for 79.99 were 19.99 at Lowes...most of the fruit trees had been dead for so long and yet were still full price

Huge garden. There are some plants forgotten in the bath though. We found a lot suffering from sunlight and going brown and many fallen on the ground. I found onw monstra plant which was definitely forgotten and I propagate it the minute I got home. A little expensive as well.

Buyer beware. Prices are high. Bought soil for $22 a bag. These are value packs with 4 cuft. I bought too little so stopped by Menards, which is more conveniently located for me, to grab a few more bags. It was $14 a bag for the same product. Thats is an insane difference. I got home to find receipt.. Guess what, we do not make price adjustments. Well, Ill never shop at Straders again. What a rip off and waste of money stopping shopping at Straders. Im also shocked that they dont adjust prices. I thought that was standard protocol anymore. Guess they know they are over pricing items.

Super cute little garden center and place to pick up a Christmas tree. Very nice selection and indoors! Lots of great accessories and decor inside the store too. Would highly recommend for all your tree needs!

Came in because they had a maple sapling sale advertised on their sign. I spoke with 4 employees who all shoved me off and ignored me. it got to the point where the cashier was standing and staring at me like I was stupid for asking for help for buying something they have advertised

I looove straders! In my opinion its more reasonably priced than Oakland and I like that they label their plants more effectively as well as have signs in their greenhouse showing you the amount of light each plant requires.

Love this place! Some of the aged ladies seem measurable at times. But over all the service is great, and this is the only location by them ive been where I have never seen bugs. Also see someone in there watering and cleaning the tropical plants as well. So if you love clean and healthy plants like me. This is the place to visit! I got this baby!

Today I went into Strader’s for a house plant. I was very pleased with this store’s wide selection and found a plant I was very excited to buy. Upon checking out, the older woman behind the cash register made a condescending comment about my purchases. It was very rude and made me feel like I was too incompetent to care for the plant I was about to purchase. I have been caring for house plants for 4 years so this was not something I was new to. I, then, walked away from the register and returned both the plant and pot I was going to purchase to their shelves. And then left the store in tears because of this worker’s comment. This worker cost the store a $40 sale and I will not be returning.

It was ridiculous, at first there was 1 cashier for 25 people, eventually there was 2 after 20 some people waiting to check out. Question: were you giving something away at 9:00am??

They have a great selection and a wide variety of gardening supplies. However, they sell several very invasive species and dont mark them as such. Bamboo, fine itll take over your own yard. But loosetrife goes to seed and covers entire riverbanks! They know it is a terrible invasive but said they keep it in stock because people request it. Why deal in unethical plant sales? How many unsuspecting people have bought it for the pretty flowers? So just be careful with what you buy from them. They do have a lot of nice ornamental varieties of native plants which wont overtake your yard/stream.

The houseplants section is a little tight to maneuver in but everything look very well cared for and theres a large selection

Lots of beautiful fall flowers! Pansies, mums, asters, etc. Also, they have a good selection of fall planters.

Bought 3 bushes that were $50/piece. Thought that was a high price, but bought them anyways. Encountered 2 extremely rude employees.Next day went to Oakland Park Nursery and found the EXACT same bush, literally exactly the same size for $30/piece. When I called and asked if I could return them or get a price adjustment. I was told no because of Covid19, there was no way to sanitize bushes....... They at least could have done a price adjustment, but that was also denied. Do yourself a favor, go to Oakland Park where the prices are reasonable and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I will NEVER shop at Straders again.

Straders Garden Centers Riverside Dr I love your store, but I stopped in today and had a terrible experience. It is my fault for not standing up for myself. I was extremely uncomfortable when your employees checking me out took off their mask because they were hot. They proceeded to check myself and other people out. It was a teenager and older woman. This is so disrespectful to shoppers and I do not plan on coming back to your store. Masks do not count if you pretend to wear them. I know people that are compromised with their health and I would hate to spread it to others because you are careless. I am going to warn others not to go to your store. It is not worth the trip.

This is plant utopia! A huge selection of all kinds of plants, beautiful canopy of hanging planters, hard to find herbs, plants nicely organized and labeled by light preferences. Very friendly staff, and they open registers so there isnt a queue. Big expansive greenhouses!

Found the product I looked for, but with very poor service. The product was frozen. The cashier didnt helped me with my question and she just let me to find the manager. While the manager was in very bad service atitude. And the cashier didnt give me reciept.

I really have enjoyed Straders Riverside for many years. The quality of plants are very important. I enjoy the ideas of companion plants, especially the annuals. They have all the necessary supplies and new products to experiment. I was there at the beginning of the storm and the high winds were a little frightful.

What a shame. This was the Straders I always came to and spent alot of money here. They literally made us leave over a mask.... so your loss Karen..... pathetic. Ive never used a mask in any store ever including here.

Based on my prior experience there, I was quite hesitant to return. While the cashiers are consistently pleasant and helpful, sadly that is far from the case for everyone else. Rude. Going out of their way to not be available to help and abrasive & inconvenienced if asked for help. I will drive out of my way to other garden centers moving forward.

Im extremely dissatisfied with the level of service I received today at Straders. I placed my order over the phone, and informed the lady I was talking to that this was my first foray into gardening and that I needed a bit of guidance. I told her how many of each plant that I was interested in. When I got there for pickup they loaded it into the back of my car and gave me a total which I remarked that it seemed more expensive than expected. To which she responded: Well you got a lot of stuff. I assumed their prices were just higher than I expected and I didnt go through the vegetables at the store as I should have. When I got home I started unloading it and realized that they had WAY oversold me on vegetables. For instance when I said I needed 9 bush bean plants. The lady charged me for 9 containers, each containing 3 plants each. So Rather than 9 plants, I was sold 27 plants. This happened for all 9 of the types of vegetables I ordered that included more than 1 per container. I immediately called to get this corrected and I was told that there are no returns at this time. This information was not listed on their website and is different than the normal return policy. See attached picture.The lady who I was speaking with on the phone was clearly getting snippy with me and hung up on me when I was trying to inform her that their website needed updated with the new return policy. I dont understand why shes frustrated. Im the one taking a loss here over a clear misunderstanding on both of our part. I didnt tell her how many containers I needed. I told her how many individual plants I needed.So now I have 3 times the number of vegetables I need with nowhere to plant them. And I have no way to get my wasted money back. During these hard times, Id expect a higher level of service from a local company.Buyers Beware! Know exactly what youre buying or they may take advantage of you.

Straders is just the best source of bedding plants, ornamentals, gardening and landscape supplies, with the largest inventory in Franklin County. -Great service, knowledgeable staff. I was really impressed with the variety of eco-friendly pest control products, AND professional staff with technical info on application/biology. -Mower and light engine service in-store shop (fewer hours), is equally well run.

I personally LOVE plants - I cant get enough of them. From every garden center that Ive ever visited, Straders is the best. The employees are friendly, and from my experience, every employee I spoke with was very knowledgeable about their plants. Wonderful selection, great prices, and perfectly laid out.

Love that I can get Fox Farm soil here. They have a really impressive selection and seem pretty knowledgeable if you have questions.4 stars just because Im most interested in pepper plants and the two I bought from them were mislabeled this year. One grew a completely different pepper than what I thought I bought and the other was a mislabeled color variety of ghost pepper. Was really banking on what I paid for to grow but Im at least happy that the ghost pepper didnt turn out to be a jalapeno

Called ahead to see if what I wanted was in stock, and was told it was. When I arrived and found the shelf empty, an associate told me that what I was looking for was probably still in a box, and I should come back later. Disappointing service.

This is my favorite place for plants in Columbus. By far the biggest selection in town, and everyone here is friendly and helpful. Worth the drive if you arent close.

Nice garden center with lots of plants and supplies. Similar to Oakland Nursery but not quite as nice in my opinion, but a good alternative. Just depends on what you need and both have much better quality and variety of plants than youll find at big box hardware stores.

I wish I could provide two separate reviews: one for product selection and another for customer service. The wide array of plants and flowers at this location are second to none. However, that unfortunately is not enough to compensate for the extremely rude and highly irritable staff.After spending quite some time selecting several plants and decorative planters, I proceeded to check out. Quite a few of the planters outside are not labled with a price tag and it seemed to annoy the cashier that I had accidently grabbed one without. From there the experience sprialed as two other ladies joined the hunt for the price and rather than quickly finding a solution for THEIR error, proceeded to point out that I had grabbed the incorrect saucer for said pot. Instead of offering any recommendations (as line of people piled up behind me), I was chastised for not seeing the tiny sign outside mentioning pot/saucer tray combinations.Its been several hours since this interaction and Im still absolutely baffled by what transpired. Neither my family or I will choose to patronize this location again due to the sheer obsurdity of my experience and unruly behavior of these three elderly women.

Thanks Google for wanting to know about every single stinking place I go. I just sat out in the car while my wife got poinsettias. The sun was shining nicely in the windows and there were some really cool poodles in the car beside me. So overall it was a decent experience. Im getting gas at giant eagle right now and Im sure youll want to know how that goes for me as well

I went yesterday, shopped mainly outside, I went to check out, I counted 25 people in line with one register open! Definitely no social distancing was in place and no I will never go back, I’ll stick with Lowe’s and local gardening centers!

The last few times that I have gone the staff has either not wanted to help or they wanted to help but didnt have the knowledge they needed to be able to help. When asked about the care of a plant the lady responded by telling me to google it. It also seemed to be asking a lot to know which plants were not toxic to children or dogs.

A decent place with a decent selection! My only issue was it was my moms first time going to a place like this and nobody was really there to help or were friendly. My mom buys a lot to plants and garden items too. We definitely saw a few workers yet nobody greeted us or offered help. Probably wont be back.

Excellent service from mellow, knowledgeable people. Things are easy to find. There are also two adorable kitties and bicycles! So basically its the best place.

My experience with at this Strader’s first started out with a call to them. I called and asked if they had lemon trees. They put me on hold, then come back and tell me that they do. I asked how much they were. The lady I was talking to said rudely and sarcastically, “Well, I don’t know. We have to walk all the way to the back of the store again to find. Do you still want to know the price?” If they would have used common sense, they should have checked it in the first place. I said that I would like to know the price. She deeply sighed and said, “Ugh, hold on.”Next, I came into the store. Not sure why I chose to do so since she was so rude on the phone. I was going to ask a worker a question, but she was already talking to another customer, so I politely waited until they were done talking. I was standing next to them, and once the other customer walked away, she didn’t even look at me or greet me. She just ignored me until I said something to her first. Then, I went to walk up to two guys to ask them for help, they looked at me, and walked away as I was walking toward them.Terrible customer service. You would think that employees would be willing to help at a place like a garden center, where people are bound to have plenty of questions.I’m all about supporting local businesses, but this was ridiculous. I felt embarrassed to have questions, because no one was willing to help. I loved the atmosphere and feel of the place, but after my experiences with them, I’d rather go to big corporate stores like Walmart or Lowe’s if it means I’d get better service and help.

The whole foods of garden centers. Great selection of flowers and tropical plants. Their hanging baskets are truly beautiful. A must see. A little pricey overall.

Came in with my money tree cause it had started to yellow on me. Guy told me to use miracle tree spikes. Put 1 in and my tree started to die the next day. Its lost the majority of its foliage but luckily I was able to dig out the stick and under careful supervision have been able to bring it back.

Edit- I did forget to mention the Straders on King has MUCH better service. It is unfortunate because their house plant selection isnt as huge so pick your battles when selecting which one to go to.I will admit their selection is the best in the columbus area, tons of house plants, pots, and soil. The reason for giving two stars is their staff is RUDE. We showed up right before closing one day (15 minutes before hand). We didnt realize they closed so soon but knew what we wanted so went ahead in anyways. The second we walked in we were aggressively told they close in 15 minutes. I 100% understand letting incoming customers know if theyre closing soon, but their tone and attitude they had was unnecessary. We grabbed a pot and headed up the the cash register to check out , mind you we took about 5 minutes to make our selection, and while my friend was getting her card out to pay the cashier said can you please hurry up with such a nasty tone. Lady, you dont close for another 10 minutes at this point and were literally checking out right now! I used to work as a cashier as well, I understand its annoying when people come in close to closing time, but at least try to hide your annoyance. When I gave them a second chance and came in in the middle of the day, it wasnt much better. Staff seemed annoyed that I was asking where things we located and just pointed me in general directions. with very little help. I love all the options they have but it seems like I need to prep myself mentally before I go in their to not snap back at their workers. Such a shame a great garden center can be tainted by sour employees.

Straders is our go to garden store. This location is HUGE!!! If you are a plant lover, you can spend hours here and still not see everything. The employees are knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. There are several Straders locations around the city. We have enjoyed every one

I went in to buy herbs on Presidents day at 3 40 pm. there were quite a few employees standing around talking and laughing. Only 2 other cars in the parking lot. Yet no one stopped to ask if I needed help as I stood there waiting to ask if herbs were in. One person rudely said we always have them I had to ask where. and she told me. As I carefully carried three pots to the register to check out (I chose the register where 4 employees were standing) I was told to go to another register (where no one was standing) So I carefully carried them once again and waited for someone to come over to check me out. She never said hi, never smiled. Nothing. I did not feel they even wanted any business. I might not give them any in the future.

Friendly staff, always a great selection. Tends to be rather busy, but generally can find what your looking for to make your garden, window box or pots look beautiful.

Love the selection of plants/flowers they have. I live in Grove City but travel to the NW straders because their selection is so good. Its amazing how many options they have! Down fall is they are extremely busy all the time which can make it difficult going down the aisles with a cart or even a stroller. If the aisles were bigger it would help with the flow.

Great plant selection however controls on number of customers, social distancing and mask use was disappointing. Strader employees near 90% with masks but not 100%.

They have a wide variety of plants here, we were able to find a great match for us! However. They didnt have the kind of moss one our plants needed and parking was scarce on a Sunday afternoon.

We enjoy when we when we take a trip to Straders garden center. Their selection is one of the best in Central Ohio and their prices are reasonable. We bought some baskets and other annuals in the spring and will be considering some of the their trees. I highly recommend their nursery.
