They really were a life saver! They recently helped me with my past due Electric Bill! Not only did they help with my bill the lady Candy was VERY sweet, caring, understanding; sympathetic and empathetic! Her entire disposition made the process a lot less stressful! After speaking with her/Candy I also felt a lot less embarrassed about having to ask for help.

I went to this place in 2012 and 2013. its mostly a great place for resources, but at the time the resources for case management was strained. and I understand that a lot of the volunteers are older, but some people made unnecessary comments about my and other peoples gender presentation. I hope that the volunteers and staff are working to make it a more inclusive and open-minded place.I hope that this place has evolved with enough space and inclusivity to include vegan and vegetarian options for those who dont eat meat. also, meet is becoming increasingly more expensive, and a younger generation is calling for less meat products do to industrial agriculture being one of the baseline reasons for climate change. switching away from me is not only more moral and ethical but its also extremely cost effective. The idea that someone needs to eat in meat is to be full, is only something that people have told us their marketing strategy, which isnt true. A person can get full off of beans, rice, and lentils. not to say thats all there should be, but a person can have a nourishing, protein meal without meat. and the idea that people should be thankful for whatever they get because its free is capitalist propaganda and dehumanizing and demoralizing against poor people.

Thank God, for the Marian house. Theres a hot meal, everyday. Its served by very friendly, caring people who smile when you really need it.The rare disruptions that occur are handled carefully and respectfully by a professional security team. The free medical, legal, and other essential services save lives and make hard times livable. The Marian House helps homeless and less fortunate individuals that are willing to help themselves get through times of crisis. The Marian is open 7 days a week from 10:30 am to 1pm. Serving a hot lunch during those hours to anyone downtown or anyone nearby. Homeless or less fortunate people are always welcome. Check it out. Its less used at the beginning of the month when individuals receive their ssi checks. Expect to stand in line for at least 20mins. They serve hundreds of people daily.

An absolute top shelf, no charge charity kitchen for all who enter regardless of race, creed, gender, orientation, disability, financial condition and/or shelter challenged (homeless). The entrees are very good and provide a balanced diet with usually a meat, a carb, salad, various bread selections and freshly made fruit salad. As far as beverages go, their coffee is one of my personal favorites. It has rich, delectable flavor. They have a selection of other beverage types too.The desserts are off the hook, with a great selection of pies, cakes, muffins and COOKIES! They dont spare the chocolates in all those too and there are a variety of other flavors and textures too.Their staff is truly very helpful and if youre 10%-100% disabled they will assist you with anything you need during your visit.Very, very clean establishment throughout. They have at least three single person, unisex and disabled combined bathrooms. Again very, very clean.

I will always praise this place for everything they do. They’ve help my family so much in the time of need when no one else could. I’ve never been so impressed with the charity or seen so many results in so little time. No matter what my family situation is they’ve always been there to help someone along the way even if it’s a little hand up or something that’s major like having a place to stay. I really appreciate everything that Catholic Charities does.

Marian House should be completely removed from the Food Pantry List for Colorado Springs. Me and my family went there because we were desperate and we are made to feel like we did some thing wrong. I first tried calling them multiple times about the ACT/Emergency food box and could not reach them. So I drove the 15 minutes from where I reside in southern Colorado Springs to where they are located downtown because my family desperately needed the help. I went to the back of the building and an older gentleman greeted me and I explained my situation. He had another taller heavy set gentleman come out. I explained to him my families situation and he proceeded to belittle me and accuse me. He asked how I knew about the food box and I told him that I did research online and it was on the Marian House website. He then said well how do you about us?. I explained that my family was homeless for a time but have managed to get back on our feet since November. We had utilized their soup kitchen services from August to November. He replied that they could only help once every six months. I replied that Ive never applied for the Emergency food in the past. He then told me to go up front. I went up front and filled out the Emergency Aid form. The same gentleman that sent me to the office then proceeded to come up front and attack me and my mother like we were not telling him the truth. He began calling other food pantries closer to us saying you can go there and if I call them is there any reason why you didnt go there implying that we did something wrong. He sent us to another pantry that allowed us 5 items for our 3 person household per day. There was little to no selection, we got a box of mac and cheese and ramen. Im sad to post this review. I had very high regard for Marion House before this experience. The gentleman that I dealt with shouldnt work with a charity organization. He doesnt have the people skills or compassion for it. Shame on Marion House for making my mother and i feel worse for needing the help. If you dont want to give help then dont offer it to the public and especially dont offer the service online. The few months that my family was homeless we had to deal with a lot of these fake charitable services offers. So sad that these organizations cannot just plainly say what they offer and for who.

👍Its awesome when I have my kids, each child gets one (1) toy/stuffy, and two (2) books everyday. They always send us off with a snack bag as well so we have stuff when they get hungry while were on-the-go or just playing.👎However, if youre coming and you dont have children expect to be waiting in a huge never ending line, being in a crowded and cramped room with people who potentially have poor manners and hygiene problems, better hope you dont have to use the bathroom because thats another ridiculous line that takes way longer than it should.👌Overall, they have decent food and sweets plus you can take 1 thing of bread with you.

And Im not much to say about this place either, his staff is always nice and friendly so thats good. But then you still get the same buttheads hoodlums and drug dealers that go there and eat. Other than that the food is okay and its not nasty its always made fresh as far as salad and fruit salad. And the rest of the food is always prepared right there as the as you know they make it in bulk so theyre still cooking it while the majority of people eating it so, the only bad thing is the pastries might be day old or worse. But when youre poor destitute and have no money this is an okay place to be minus the residence or the people that visit there.

They usually have very good food for lunch. They are open to the public, not just to the homeless. Theyre services, however, I do believe are limited to those who are homeless. The staff are very friendly, the foods good, and there is no limit on how many times you can go fill up. They close open at 10:30am and close at 1pm so you gotta get there quick. They usually have a long waiting line, but youll get in in less than 10 minutes even when youre at the back. If you are a family and have kids, you can just go up the ramp and head in, they have a separate family eating area just for you.
