I think some of these reviews might be a bit unfair, Ive moved here in February, my apartment is completely amazing! Like all places people have things to work on! Whenever I have emailed and followed up nobody was rude, or Id I had a question and knocked on the office door nobody was rude either! If I wished one thing is the parking could be better, and the visitors lot would be looked at because these cars havent moved! I had a flood in my apartment due to the upstairs water heater breaking, my apartment is back together and the office manager personally came down and made calls! Andre is amazing and the lady in the office is as well! I am happy!

I applied back in January and got approved, asked if I could move in on the 29th which the unit was available on the 22nd and Andre put down as my move in date for the February 5th. I asked him multiple times if I could move in sooner and he told me he messed up on the welcome letter and then the date was moved to the 15 of February! I had a family emergency and had to leave out of state so I emailed him letting him now ( this was 2 weeks before I expected move in date ) and he tells me if I didn’t give the security deposit then he would have to cancel my unit! So we decided when I returned home I would get another unit , I wasn’t sure if I had to re apply so I called and talked to the lady at the desk which was amazing . And Andre told me I had to re apply so I did and then less then 30 minutes he responds and tells me it got declined ! And then tells me I can’t re apply ! I don’t understand how less than a month i get approved then declined ! But 2 hours after Andre tells me that I got declined I get a email from Kevin saying my application is being processed. I feel like there’s a personal grudge and I’m not sure why.

I want to say I recently visited the townhouses and apartments here are nice and spacious. They are much nicer then the apartment I am in at another complex. Andre was helpful and polite he answered all my questions. I recommend stopping by and checking things out!

I moved in late December after my private landlord had sold her house. The property is older but so far my work request were completed within a good time. The maintenance guy asked if there was anything else i needed for my home. You can pay your rent online. I do see the towing company often but Im not worried because I have a parking sticker. The office staff is nice. I know they are trying to improve the property.

The workers in this place are hesitant. I went to his office because I have been waiting a while to fix the appliances and the air conditioning, who angrily told me not to knock on the office door again, that is not the treatment they should give to the office. residents will not rent here again

Within the past 6 months there has been a significant change in the operations of the leasing office with an all new office staff. The environment of the office is more organized and professional, and it is evident that the new staff members are doing their best to clean up what was left behind. Unfortunately change does not happen over night, but I do see the changes slowly and surely coming along.Maintenance tends to be behind schedule recently, but according to the front office, this is due to a recent passing of one of their staff members; the loss put things behind schedule and they are working to keep up with the demands of an older and larger property while training new members of their team.As a resident here, I cannot debate some of the negative reviews, but if I had to, I would argue that the majority of the negativity surrounding this neighborhood was due to the poor staffing/management that was in place. Again, I see changes happening and they all seem to be for the overall improvement and raised standard for the community.

In this place the workers are a bit unpleasant. They are always working angry and are slow enough to work, come to see and work for at least half an hour. I waited more than a month for them to put the machines in my unit 3 days ago that they placed them do not work and I have to wait longer for someone to come back to know what happens and the hours I go to the office The lady who works there is angry because I feel that he yells at me every time he talks to me. Ive been a little over a month and the attention is unpleasant.😡

Do Not Recommend. I will preface this by saying I was not a resident of this community, we were apartment hunting and came across Barracks West. After visiting and taking a tour, we were interested in pursuing it further. We tried for weeks to get in touch with Tamika at the main office with no response. I emailed and called over a dozen times to express interest, I even put a hold on an apartment building and no one ever contacted me back. The final straw was when we were in the area and decided to stop by during business hours. The sign on door was Open but locked with no one inside. We waited for over 30 minutes and no one ever came, so they officially lost our business. If it was this difficult to even rent from them, imagine what it would be like as a tenant!I think we dodged a bullet with this one, and I hope you do too.

I sent a list of things that were wrong with the apartment when my boyfriend and I moved in. They sent maintenance to “fix” our loose railing and the glass door not locking. I’m not sure what the guy spent 30 minutes doing but neither were fixed and most people I know that have lived here got screwed out of their security deposits over problems that were there from the previous tenants. They said the walls and carpets had just been done but the carpets are disgusting and smelled like dog when we moved in and the walls have scratches everywhere. There’s rats in the walls that will keep you up all night. When we moved in, there was a dead tree just laying in our patio and trash surrounding it that we had to clean ourselves. Great welcome gift. Mine and my boyfriends cars have gotten towed, and our friends. When I talked to front office about our cars getting towed, all she had to say was, “ you know. I’m constantly worried about my car getting towed too”. After spending a couple hundred getting our cars out, you’d think that the front office would have a little more to say than that. Also, I’ve had three packages sent to my door and two have been stolen.

Me & my boyfriend moved in about 2 months ago via lease transfer. They never came to review the house the first week we were here to assess the damages caused by previous tenants. Also, our window in the kitchen does not close all the way, which prevents it from locking. I’ve contacted them multiple times, even went to the length of downloading the app to try to get a more personal response &, in response, they sent a statement saying the request was closed because it was fixed, which never happened. There always seems to be maintenance people around but they have yet to come to our unit. I am very disappointed & don’t feel safe in my home because at any given moment, someone can get in my window. We now have to get the window replaced with our own money & we hope that they will reimburse us for our money spent.

Not a bad place to live at all. The office staff are very nice. The buildings are old so keep that in mind. If you need to out in a work order, they are almost always short staffed so it takes a while sometimes to get to you but they do. Only complaint is the out of control children always in the roads and hitting up against the cars, they are loud and very obnoxious. Other than that, I love my townhouse

I did not even want to give one star to Barracks West, but Google does not let you post without giving at least one. When we moved in the garbage disposal was broken. Shortly after we had a leak that caused us both to have to take off from work for the entire day. The walls and ceiling were damaged, which were never completely repaired. We had a large, ugly stain from the leak on our wall, and asked many times for it to be covered up, which never happened. Only a couple weeks after, our bath tub filled with sewage. This was another disruption to our work day. There were multiple other issues but, the one that we were most affected by was the mold we found in our air ducts, around our door, and in the closet. We were guaranteed no mold when we moved in. They simply tried to cover it up, not fix the issue. We moved out shortly after we realized that they were not going to do anything about it. While moving out, we found a large, BLACK mold spore; about as large as my hand.In addition to all this, we would come home to out home smelling like weed because the neighbors blew their smoke into our air duct. They threw their trash down the hill in front of our apartment complex, and the management did nothing to fix this. A bed frame was thrown down the hill, in addition to shattered glass bottles and plastics. Also, there was a shooting while we were here; so if you have children or even teenagers, this place is not safe.I do not recommend Barracks West Apartments. Also, we were not refunded our security deposit either!

I would not recommend this complex to anyone. The only way you can get any maintenance requests done is to stay on top the office staff and the property manager. And the on-site maintenance staff and what is determined worthy of an after-hours request is ridiculous. So if you want to be frustrated, deal with an office staff who are nonchalant about addressing your concerns, and deal with a slow maintenance process, come live here. BW will fulfill all of those requirements for you.

I just moved in and really like the place . The have good office team and very professional maintenance techs who respond quickly to same day issue . They all are honest and very good in what they doing . The Maintainace Head is very respectfull person and his Team are ready all the time and always till you the truth if what thry fix is going to work or they will come again with a new part to change the old one . The manager is very kind and answer the phone calks and the answers sufficiently. The leasing agents are very hard working and always in their offices to meet and clearify any ambiguous things . I realy would give tgem more than 5 stars and reward them financially.Good job guys keep it up

Theres so many horrible things about this place that I dont even know where to begin! Its completely over priced for what you get. Yes, the buildings are older but that doesnt mean that the residents should live in squalor. Most issues could easily be fixed if the people who run this place cared enough to fix them. The only reasons we ended up here is because we needed a place to move asap and this was the only place that had space for what we could afford.Ive now had a hole in my ceiling for 6 months for a major leak coming from the bathroom area that they cant figure out and now another leak happening on the other side of the wall above the kitchen sink... the wood is totally rotted and moldy so its obvious the leak was happening long before we moved in. The fix that theyre trying to do now is to patch it with drywall and paint... smhWe shouldve read the reviews before renting at this place, please dont make the same mistake!

The new management seem just as bad as the old, so dont ignore previous reviews. Some of the are normal people who will get along with others, but you have the yuppies that will report you for any minor infraction that impedes on their perfect life, and the other less than desirables that seem to disregard any sense of respect for anyone but themselves at any hour.I can understand why no level of this organization is associated with the BBB. There is no such thing as a good-faith effort, or much effort at all for that matter, to help resolve any issues.Example: My girlfriends paycheck went from 80h to 14h due to an error at the employer. What did the office say? Sorry about your luck, and heres what the charge will be for the late fee.It seems as though any time I call with an issue I am looking to resolve mutually and respectfully, the associates immediately get defensive when I pull a possibility from outside the box (like perhaps contacting their bank to get them to re-run the check). Also be fore-warned. This area is not pet-friendly. There is a decent amount of area to walk, but they better not make a sound while theyre in the apartment... I confirmed with Marcy that all of my reports that have led to a final warning have been from word of mouth reports (interesting that my dogs were at my mother-in-laws house for about 3 weeks and the reports were still coming in).Overall, Im sure you can see how I rank this area, but I think the worst experience I have is how they treat my girlfriend. Calling her dog annoying does not further the process of remediation and only creates hostilities between the office and the tenants.I hope that the situation is better towards the front of the property, but I am moving out as soon as possible.

I have lived here with my boyfriend for the past few months and we both count the days until we move. Staff is rude and inattentive (we reported a leak from the bathroom, dripping down into the lower level about four months ago. They never showed up to check it out, let alone fix it), area does not feel safe to walk your dog at night and in our particular unit, there were rodents living in the walls (you could hear them scurrying around and squeaking most hours of the day. Also something staff never attended to). A one-star rating is still too high for this place.

The leasing agents are nice but they are nonchalant about maintenence requests. The apartment I moved into recently was a terrible disgusting mess. They repainted it and it looks nicer, but it has huge issues that the maintenance team has failed again and again to fix. There are no outlets in the bathrooms and kitchen and no ceiling fans. The dishwasher is broken and the water pressure is nonexistent. The worst issue by far is the air conditioning though. The upstairs gets down to 78 some mornings but is usually between 85 and 100 and the downstairs is generally about five degrees cooler. I have never lived at a place that was so nonchalant about placing people in inhumane living conditions. Dont move here.

Sketchy douchebags who try to ruin your credit if you dont pay outlandish sums ($2600 on top of keeping the full deposit!) to fix their cardboard doors. A little slummy but generally okay for the price while we lived there, but I edited this from 4 to 1 after the BS they pulled after the fact.
