Lots of reviewers say Johnny is honest and that is the honest to goodness truth.Fixed an AC compressor on an Audi Q3 and he offered to allow us to bring the part if we could find it cheaper. We did and he had no issues with that at all. Not many places do that today.

My car did not start due to some engine issue and i took my car to this shop. At first he seemed very reasonably priced and a genuine shop owner. He change the battery and car restarted. I brought my car back home and it stopped again. Later it appeared that my car did not have a battery issue but an engine issue. I had to take my car to a proper Nissan mechanic and it got fixed. I think if you are looking for a regular stuff like Oil, Tire or some basic servicing/checkup; this shop is okay and gives you a good price with reasonable service but if your issue is a little bit more complicated; mechanic here may not be the best. I learnt hard way when i paid extra bucks here.EDIT -

Guy who runs the shop wasnt interested in helping me (or even understanding what I wanted) because I had something other than a normal tire change service. There are 3 other tire shops within 4 blocks so no need to bother with this place.*reply to reply: I didnt want tires. Again not taking time to even understand what I asked for. Its fine, I paid the next place down $10 for 10-min job.

Could it use 2-4 grand worth of work? King Auto Repair has been my 1st choice for nearly 10 years and the only repair shop that I trust to service my vehicle. The work done by the wonderful mechanics is always professional and correct. And I must also add that the pricing of work estimates are 100% fair compared to other competition. As long as I reside in Charlotte or surrounding areas, my commitment to this shop and the friendly staff will never cease.

This is the only place I trust with my car. The owner knows what he is talking about and has great prices. If my car is ok and there isnt an issue he tells me and doesnt try to upsell me for parts or labor that are unnecessary. A good honest mechanic can be hard to find but it makes me feel good to know I have found one in king auto repair.

I took in my wifes Mini Cooper for an oil change a couple other places and they couldnt get the oil filter. Take it to the dealer? they suggested. I was like Nah, Id rather not. I called Johnny at King Auto and he said to bring it in (on a Thursday afternoon). They took a look and said it wouldnt come off without breaking. Bring it back Monday. We can try again because the only way to do this is to be ready to replace the part if it breaks and I cant do that on a Friday So I brought it back and they were able to fix it without breaking it! They charged me about their normal rate for an oil change (bring your own oil/filter for that service, because their shop is pretty small).I went back with my older Toyota Camry for suspension issues. Id had new struts installed elsewhere and my previous guy said I needed new rack & pinion bushings for about $150. Johnny looked at it and thought the previous mechanic might have misdiagnosed or even intentionally loosened everything! So for a couple months I was driving with an unsafe steering situation, when all I needed was to bring it to King Auto. Theyre very honest and have been great with my familys two cars. If youre waiting to get into another mechanic, give Johnny at King Auto a call and see if he can help you.

My car was badly in need of a wheel bearing repair. The tapping noise had become unbearable. King’s Auto repair came highly recommended on google so I thought I would give it a try. I called the repair shop the gentleman told me that he could have my car repaired within 3 hours. He also was able to quote me a price right over the phone. When I arrived at the repair shop he asked if he could test drive my vehicle to check the problem out. I said sure. About 5 minutes later he came back and confirmed that my front right passenger wheel bearing was bad and needed to be replaced. He said the price would be the same as what he quoted me over the phone. Just as he stated my car was repaired within 3 hours and it’s been running smoothly ever since. If you’re looking for and honest, prompt and fairly priced experience I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. Thank you for your help and I will be back.

This is the best repair shop I have ever dealt with. I have an older 4Runner so I’m always getting outrageous pricing for any fix. The owner here was honest and upfront with what needed to be done in order get the best price on repairs for my vehicle.

Recommended by a friend and had my expectations exceeded. Modest building, minimalistic lobby area, no frills, great prices. Had my clutch and O2 censor replaced, Johnny was honest with what actually needed to be done (no flywheel replacement was necessary). Saved hundreds of dollars. Thanks!

I went to get cv axle joint repaired and he discovered I had no oil. its been a rough year for. They repaired my car fast and I had a far back window panel out he had a guy coming to replace a windshield and gave me the guy phone number the guy gave me a price needed to get this fix. Got a great price on my car too. Recommend these guys to anyone, Honest people. Will be gong back.

King auto repair is the best in Charlotte. He will look at your car and in 5 minutes you will know everything that is an issue. He will also charge half the normal price for labor and let you bring in your parts, if you cant find it he will order it for you. 5 stars on everything, especially customer service.

Had a rattling noise coming from underneath my car every time I accelerated at low speeds. After checking it out, they told my U-joints needed replacing. I left my car with them at 9 am and by noon they called me telling me it was ready to be picked up. Very prompt service and reasonable prices. I definitely recommend them.

Called at 8:30am asking about a full brake job, pads and rotors all 4 wheels, he said bring it on in and Ill have it ready by lunch time. Sure enough, got the call at 11:30am saying it was ready. Great same day service at reasonable prices, more than $200 less than Mieneke quote even with a $75 Mieneke teacher discount. Found my new auto shop.

The first encounter I had with this repair shop was a good experience, which led me to come back again when my truck wouldnt start. I came to have it looked at and the car was diagnosed with the issue from this shop. I bought the part that I was told was needed for my truck and it was supposedly fixed and I drove off with no problems after paying $258 for the part and labor. Three days later, my truck did the very same thing - it wouldnt start. So I called the shop and the owner, Johnny sent a mechanic to my house. The mechanic couldnt do anything because he needed to hook it up to a machine (which I assumed was done initially). So the owner had my truck towed to his shop for a diagnostic test to tell me again, what the problem was. He diagnosed it this time as having a bad ECU (this is the computer or brain of the engine) and could really only be fixed by the dealership - a very expensive part ($800) although I had a relative working for the dealership it would have cost me ($643). The car wasnt able to start but somehow the mechanic was able to finagle the engine to get it to start (keep this in mind). So I was able to drive my truck to the dealership to have it looked at. The dealership did a true diagnostic test on my vehicle and told me it was a weak ASD relay that was causing the vehicle not to start and that the computer (ECU) was in great condition it just needed an update, total cost $215 but for me ($145), big difference in prices! Thinking back over this situation, it led me to come to this conclusion: I believe that this shop probably knew that they were unable to fix my vehicle so they gave me a false issue which still required me to pay. The same way the mechanic was able to finagle my engine to get it to start, was the same way they did it to make me believe it was fixed, only for the problem to still exist. I believe its very important to have your vehicle properly diagnosed. Although repair shops are convenient and less expensive than the dealerships, not all of them will have the required equipment or the equipment at all to properly diagnose complicated issues with your vehicle. I have nothing against the owner, he was really nice but I needed to share this particular experience.

Got a recommendation from the Neighborhood app and gave them a try. Johnny was very nice and gave me great recommendations that were very helpful. I ended up with a totally different issue s few days later and he was even more helpful. Wanted me to test drive my car to make sure it was working to my satisfaction before accepting payament and charged me 1/2 hus normal rate. Outstanding customer service and highly recommend these guys for all your auto repair needs.

Terrible service drio ny truck off at 8 am to just looked at to see whats wrong told itll be dine by 11 it is now 5:20 they lied and said they inspected and repeated to me what i already know i called and said im pulling up and i arrived 5 min later for them to lie and said they just checked it. Waist of time. They never called or updated me and im just sitting waiting. And they hubg up on me when i called initially worst service in town wont go back tbey failed beforw they started

I was recommended to this shop by my insurance company so we set up for my car to get towed here . guy comes out screaming no you cant drop that here !! guy refused to take my car because my wife was going to drop the keys off after she got off work . never have i been refused service from anyone so rude !! luckily the driver recommended another shop for me and towed my vehicle over there . youre the only shop in charlotte with that policy . all these excuses

Extremely disrespectful, I left with more issues that I came in with and my injection wiring harness looks like someone took nail clippers to it. This place is a not worth supporting. I cant stress that enough.He is stressing that my truck has high miles (230K actually). In other words they are incapable of working on high mileage vehicles? I was hurried out of the shop because they couldnt fix the issue. The truck is now running fine thanks to alt local shop. MAP sensor... FYI

Im glad I live close to this business. Whenever I get an indication that the air pressure in my tires has changed these guys check it and add air free of charge. I will always use their services.

Brought my truck to get fixed, they got it running and tried to hurry me out before I test drove it. It sputtered and stalled. They didnt fix the issue, and on top of that now I have an airbag light on. PLACES LIKE THIS GIVE MECHANICS A BAD WRAP. The dude behind the counter was beyond rude and laughed at me when i expressed my concerns. What a joke. Is there a way to give no stars. Do not support this business. Plenty more local shops to support.
