I cant say enough positive things about my familys experience with City Heating and Air. They installed an HVAC unit at my parents house a few years ago and were a pleasure to work with- fair and affordable pricing, proficient, on time and very knowledgable! My parents have Alzheimers disease now, and their system wasnt working. The owner came out and was so kind and caring for my parents. He was able to quickly fix the unit and taught me how to properly care for the system to avoid any future issues. Not only this, but because he remembered working with my parents years ago, he did the service for free! I also randomly called him one time to help me with installing a Nest thermostat. He walked me through it, even though it didnt really have anything to do with the HVAC system. You dont find service like this from big companies- I am so thankful to this company and how they truly care for their community!

I have used Adam for repairs of a 16 year old lennox system with particular difficulty with the upstairs system. He has been honest, punctual with almost always same day response. In the last repair of the upstairs heating ignitor coil Adam advised against repair as it had failed twice in 6 months and he highly suspected a bad board or a$800.-$1000. board replacement. I opted for the $170.00 new ignition coil and of course he was correct it burnt out in 6 weeks. Personable and very professional, Adam builds friendships as well as a strong cliental base.

Good service! They were able to come out within 30 minutes of our call. The reason for 4 stars is because they charge $199 REGARDLESS of the issue. For a basic capacitor replacement which is about $15, we were charged $199 + the trip fee. While this was expensive, City Heating and Air gave us the cheapest price compared to other companies.

I cannot recommend City Heating and Air Conditioning enough! Adam (the owner) was one of the kindest, most respectful, and knowledgeable people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He came to my home and immediately made both my son and I feel as if we had known him forever. After diagnosing the issue he took me to the furnace to show me exactly what was wrong with my unit and how he would fix it. He showed me a couple of other issues that did not need to be corrected right away but will eventually have to be dealt with. Never once did he pressure me to have anything done that I didnt need to, and was back the very next day with the part exactly at the time promised. We had heat within ten minutes. I will absolutely go to him for any and all repairs and questions, and I would encourage anyone else that needs assistance to do so as well. He is extremely reliable, keeps his word, and goes above and beyond to make sure his clients are taken care of. I am a first time home owner and will not go to anyone else for my heating and air conditioning needs in the future. Adam’s awesome. We had an AC emergency two summers ago that rendered the upstairs floor of my 4200 sq ft house about 90 degrees in the blistering sun. All the kids sleep upstairs, except during this crisis where we had to park them in the downstairs living room overnight. Wife and I scrambled to find the best possible place in town and found City Heating and Air. Adam impressed us at our first meeting as he quickly diagnosed and explained, and ultimately repaired the unit. We had him come back the following winter for maintenance of our heating system and he took outstanding care of us. He’s pretty much our guy now. With Adam, he’s very personable, knowledgeable and straight forward. He’ll ask questions about your maintenance habits and if you’re not on top of your stuff, you can tell this really concerns him. I find that important because if it’s clear you’re doing something that may ultimately result in more business for a service company; there are plenty of businesses out there who will exploit something like that. With Adam, though, his concern for his customers and their situation is genuine. HVAC isn’t cheap—but these folks are reasonably priced and Adam takes great care of his customers. Wow! What great service. A well know company told me I needed a full new system costing over 15,000$. Within just a few minutes this company knew what the problem was and fixed the issue for 199$. I could not be happier. My air is ice cold again!

Adam came out last night and fixed my AC. My son is special needs and it was sweltering in our house. I had called 10+ companies, including ones that said that they come out at night. Needless to say, they didn’t. I called Adam and he was here within the hour, fixed the issue, and was so polite. From now on, he will be my first call because his work was fantastic. I recently had City Heating and Air service my outside condenser unit. The technician was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. He the solved the problem quickly and charged a very reasonable fee for the service. I also had my entire unit replaced by City in 2010 and it has worked great for the last five years. I have purchased another home and had them service the unit there and they also did a great job -- I highly recommend them. Unlike many others they do not push replacement of a unit if there is a reasonable workaround and less expensive option like a replacement part.

Excellent service. My A/C stopped working today and I contacted City Heating & Air for assistance. The operator (Mary) promptly answered the phone with a friendly voice and great attitude. After a brief discussion of the problem I was having with my A/C, I was advised that a technician would arrive to my house within two hours. The technician (Adam) showed up promptly and on time, with a warm smile and professional appearance. After investigating the problem with my A/C, it was determined that I hadnt properly replaced my A/C filters in a timely manner, nor maintained my unit in general. Adam immediately went to work to rectify the problem, and in short order, my A/C unit was up and running stronger than ever. Im a first time home owner, and I have absolutely no knowledge of the inner workings of A/C units. Adam could have told me that my A/C unit needed major work, or needed to be replaced, but instead, he was truthful, and performed the repairs with minimal cost. City Heating and Air Conditioning, as well as Adam, are extremely honest and professional, and I highly recommend them. I will definitely have them service my A/C and heating unit on a regular basis. First time using City Heating and Air. My neighbor recommended. Adam came out and knew exactly what was needed when I told him the symptoms. My home was cooling better down stairs than upstairs. He knew right away that the Freon was probably low and the outdoor fan units needed cleaning. He cleaned the units and loaded Freon at a reasonable price. I am cooling fine tonight.

My air stopped working Sunday afternoon when it was 97 degrees outside. I called City and spoke with Mary. She promptly reached out to Adam and he was at our house that night! He diagnosed the problem, but didnt have the part with him. He was able to get the unit back on, but it wasnt working as desired and not cooling as well as it should. He left us with a unit to cool our bedroom, so we werent miserable! He promptly returned two days later with the parts to finalize the repair. We couldnt be more happy with Adam! This isnt the first time we have used City, and we will continue to call Adam for regular maintenance! He is always polite, friendly and fully explains what is going on with the repairs/maintenance so we understand what is going on! City Heating and Air helped us keep our very old air conditioning units running for a couple years until we were able to afford replacement units. Adam is a trustworthy worker who can assess the situation, explain what needs done, cleans up after the job, and offers great work at a reasonable cost. We tried two other heating and air companies before finding City Heating and Air. The other companies made me feel uncomfortable with different workers showing up and not explaining the work they were doing, but always telling me we needed different parts. MARVELOUS!! I recently purchased my first home and immediately started having ac issues. I called a family friend to come “fix” the problem and within a few days my ac was back out again. I decided to look elsewhere as I wanted a permanent fix from someone I could trust. I called numerous companies late on a Friday night and Adam was the only one that would come out despite having just settled in to eat dinner. He arrived promptly and had my ac working in no time. About a week later that air went out again and Adam came back to investigate; we identified the true issue. The issue was bigger than expected and having just closed on my house a few weeks earlier I wasn’t quite ready to commit right away; Adam still ensured that I was able to have ac although I knew it wouldn’t be a permanent fix. Adam has been to our home twice, for service calls. Once for a scheduled check up & today for an emergency. It is 90+ degrees & he was here in just a couple of hours. Our AC unit died around 6:00pm Saturday evening of Labor Day weekend. Adam came to our house and did a consultation that night. He had to order a new unit, but left us with temporary AC to keep us comfortable (we have one year old twins, so this was our biggest priority). He promptly came back the next day, replaced our AC and had our home cooled. The first time I used their services was several years ago. In the middle of the hot summer, after my house got hit by a lightning at night, my AC was damaged. I called City Heating and Air Conditioning. The owner came by first thing in the morning and brought a portable window unit so we can cool the house after I told him what happened. He got everything fixed very fast and the prices were very reasonable. Since than I became a fan. The service is exceptional and the prices are always reasonable. I highly recommend to give them call.

Called to have a Inspection/ Cleaning done on 1 Train unit. Surprisingly, the owner Adam showed up. He was polite at first. Until, I questioned what would be done .He went on to give me some BS of what needed to be done as far as taking 5 screws off the compressor to spray coils and spray off with a hose. Lets be honest - If I didnt feel like getting dirty and had a shop vac. I could do myself in 30 minutes. Not to mention, Adam has to take the cover off anyways to inspect the unit. Hmmmmm, so while its off you still want to tack on another $50.00 because its a Train to clean! Funny thing is the unit is in great shape and really doesnt need much work. I just wanted to have normal maintenance done.1.So, the $99 quoted fee for the service was not accurate from what I received a day ago via very polite/professorial sales lady and what is listed on the website. False advertising....I think so!2.I also immediately got a odd impression when the owner showed, smelling like cologne, and looked like he was going to dinner somewhere. Im not even sure he wanted to do the work. Hence why after our interaction and my questions Adam walked away and said you know what call somebody else. This is after I said fine go ahead and clean it for the $150.00.I expect for a typical service pricing upfront and no surprises. This felt like one of the typical contractors who quote you one thing but charge you another.I ended up calling another company. The company quoted me the same price right up front with no hidden surprises. Also, what do you know the company I hired website has a disclaimer stating for only approved units.THE BOTTOM LINE. All in all experience was great until Adam quoted a different price from the sales person and website. Also, when I questioned the work to be done smart remarks came from the owner. Just another small business owner not understanding customers are first and the importance of building long term business.

When I was renting, my landlord used City Heating and Air when both heating units had to be replaced. That was when I met Adam, and knew who I would use in the future. Two years later, I have my own place and my A/C stopped working. I immediately called City and had an appointment scheduled the next day. Saturday night, July, hot as heck. Get home from dinner and it is 80 degrees inside, the AC has died... The company Ive used in the past do not have emergency service, and I have friends visiting from out of town and do not want to try and wait until Monday. City Heating and Air popped up on Google for 24 hour service with good reviews so I called. They were courteous on the phone and were able to have someone at my house in about an hour. He immediately diagnosed the problem (capacitor) and had the AC blowing cold in what seemed like 10 minutes. All for what I considered to be a very reasonable charge for an emergency repair late on a Saturday night. I couldnt be happier with the experience and would highly recommend them.

After seeing the reviews about City Heating and Air on Nextdoor and Google I decided to give them a call when our downstairs AC went out. Wow! Is the one word that I can say! Adam was incredible. We have been using City Heating and Air Conditioning for almost 10 years (since 2005). Adam is honest and reliable. I dont think Ive ever called that we havent seen him the same day. When our air conditioning went out one summer, it was going to be the next day before Adam could get the part he needed to repair the unit. He went and picked up a portable unit and set it up in the house for us. I have 4 children and Adam has always been so kind and patient with all of their questions. Last year when our twenty year old system finally died, we had to make some changes to keep everything up to code, Adam patiently explained everything to us and made excellent recommendations on how to keep our system running well for another twenty years!

Adam showed up and was very kind and took the time to explain what was going on. He solved our problem and it turned out to be cheaper than i expected. I would highly recommend them.

City Heating and Air came to our home when we had a pipe break off our water heater. Adam worked tirelessly to relocate and install and new water heater working right into the night. He has been our go to guy for our HVAC replacement and servicing as well. Great guy and he really knows his stuff. Very reasonably priced. Fantastic service.

Ive been using City Heating & Air for 5 yrs and wouldnt trust my units with any other company. They have provided excellent service and their prices are very reasonable. If i have any questions, they respond quickly to my callsI had both my units replaced 2 yrs ago and while it was expensive, it was worth it! Adam is amazing!!!! When we came home from vacation to no ac, we checked our neighborhood vent page for who to call. City Heating & Air was overwhelmingly suggested. He came and we had cold air flowing within 15 minutes. He suggested we have maintenance performed so he came out again a few days later. He did a thorough job cleaning the unit from all the construction dust. I asked him to come up to the attic to do a spot check and we found a return duct that had fallen and split in two! That explains the dust all over the house! He got us in shape! I wont call anyone else for my heating and air needs again!

City heating and air was one of the most professional HVAC business I have ever encountered here in Charlotte. I have had issues with my AC unit pretty much every year for the past 6 years. This was my first time contacting City and I am very glad I did. I was able to immediately get an appointment. Adam came out to the house, was very professional, taking the time to explain to me (and show me) the things that are wrong with my unit. When we realized that the whole unit was completely dead (I knew this was coming from previous assessments) he was very prompt at quoting me an extremely reasonable price. He was out to my house 2 days later and had the whole unit installed over the weekend (to work around my work schedule). Unfortunately the original installation at my house was not very quality. He took the time to explain my system to me, why it was bad and why what he was installing was a much better choice (at a very reasonable price). He was promptly on time and good for his word. As a female I sometimes worry that business people are trying to sell me more than I need, well with Adam that was never the case. I would absolutely recommend Adam and City Heading and Air to anyone and they will be my sole HVAC providers from here out.

Adam has been our trusted A/C & Heating Technician for many years! He started off by working on my husbands rental property in 2006 and has always shown up and taken care of any issue. He has worked on two of our rental properties this summer and continues to service our A/C unit in our personal home. Adam is quick to respond to texts/phonecalls and is very sweet and easy to work with. I feel that Adam is very fair in his pricing and he goes above and beyond the call of duty whenever we need him. Our AC unit stop blowing air into the house. We were so nervous that we were going to have to replace the unit since it was nearly 6 years old. City Heating and Air explained that we didnt have to replace the unit at this time and was able to get it up and running in a little over an hour!

**Company never followed through with call/offer to try to make situation right**I did give two stars a instead of one because the dispatcher was prompt and courteous, but this place totally price gouged me today. Repair was for my tenant, so I had no choice, didnt want to upset my tenant by having to wait for another company. They charged me $477 for an hours worth of work and a capacitor that cost them $20. Look up ac capacitors, youll see theyre cheap and connected by two bolts, easy to swap, but I still was charged $250 just for that one part. I even waited for a weekday appointment. The rest of the charge was labor,diagnostic maintenance - which most companies waive diagnostic if you have them do the repair. I did call the dispatcher, Joanna and ask for a fair rate, but my request was declined. My husband worked HVAC for 6 years (if he wasnt busy and sick, it woulda saved me an entire weeks paycheck!!) these prices were totally unreasonable. I will not use them again.
