Dropped my vehicle off for a routine oil change. It has been quite some time with the lack of commute now that I work from home - I ventured to try a new local shop instead of the other drive thru chains I would normally visit. Pleasantly surprised! Everyone was very nice and professional. I really enjoyed the report card via text and online bill pay. Service turned out to be much faster than originally estimated. Ill be back in for sure!

Went here for a suspected transmission issue. Turned out to be something wrong with my car’s computer. They were super honest and transparent along the way and got me out of there for a reasonable price. I will return.

My car was having transmission issues. I was quoted $8,500 for the repairs for a used transmission with 80,000 miles on it. This was more than the value of the car. I took the same car to another transmission repair place that I was recommended by our regular mechanic. I was quoted $4,300 for the same exact repairs for a used transmission with 12000 miles on with a year warranty for parts and labor. People were very nice at Caton Auto. They were very professional and I appreciated the pictures and detailed reports on my car. However the price was robbery.

I have been going to Murrays Auto Clinic in Silver Spring for almost 20 years, and they have always treated me right. I changed jobs so that place is no longer convenient. I gave this place a try and have been going there ever since. They are professional, prompt and courteous and embrace technology. You get a full report emailed to you about your car, broken down so you can understand exactly what is going on. The waiting area is comfortable and encouraging and so far I have no complaints. I will continue to use them until proven otherwise. Full disclosure: I am extremely critical and ruthless when I receive bad service, so a recommendation from me is noteworthy. This place is worth it. They take care of you.

As has been the case during the nearly 35 years I have used Caton Autos services, my dealings were friendly, courteous, and professional. Those I worked with were knowledgeable. The work recommended was explained and appropriate, and problems were correctly diagnosed and resolved. Purely by chance, I had problems with three cars at the same time. Appointments were scheduled with reasonable promptness that accommodated my schedule, and I was completely satisfied with all work performed. Thanks to Caton and regular upkeep, three cars ranging from 13-15 years old continue to work extremely well and with minimal downtime.

Ive been a customer for about twenty years, and have always felt like I was treated well, and that the folks at Caton Auto have always been fair, cheerful, and stand behind their work.

Caton Auto Clinic is run by a family, and they treat customers with cheer, professionalism, and great service. The technicians communicate promptly. The first time I went to them years ago, they made a list of things my (junky) car needed, dividing it into “must fix” and “should eventually fix” categories, offering no pressure for extras. These are people you can trust with your car.

We always get the best service. We use them for regularly scheduled maintenance, but ask them to check for problem areas. We get estimates quickly and they always let us know what doesnt have to be fixed right away. Very pleased!

The key fob, audio and clock on my 11-year-old Subaru suddenly stopped working. I was stunned to know that my local Heritage Subaru dealer who had serviced the car for 9 year wanted to charge more than $1200 just for diagnosis! Of course I didnt believe in them any more. The electrical problem is known to be hard in general and many shops didnt want to deal with it On the recommendation of a nice technician at Ellicott City Midas I took the car to Caton Auto Clinic, but without a high hope. The technician Todd Moyer did a thorough check and replaced the blown fuse. Everything is working fine. But the cost was only $150. Very professional, honest and friendly technicians and service advisors there. Ill go back again for maintenance in the future. Lesson learned: never blindly believe in the skills at the dealership, but go for shops like Caton Auto Clinic!

Had an older car with 167,000 miles on it...”And it was riding really rough...every small bump felt like a pothole. Caton recommended replacing shocks and struts, which we did. It was a little pricy but now our old car almost rides like new. Thanks for the idea and thanks for completing the job so well. It was well worth it!

I had a very frustrating and dangerous issue with my 2008 Honda Fit - loosing power steering at one point, and often discovering my car wouldnt even start. I towed it to several other places for repairs, and would end up back in the same problems - and sometimes with new issues. Caton Auto Clinic and bent over backwards to discover the main issue (after market alarm system causing constant power drain), and fixed all the other problems introduced by infer repairs. They went the extra mile by keeping it driving it around to ensure that it was safe - and let me bring it back without charge when I once again had a drained battery (which was how the problem was sleuthed out). I cant say enough about how amazing they treated me and clearly and patiently the explained everything along the way. This will be the only shop I will use from now on.

I had a great overall experience from start to finish with Caton Auto Clinic. I woke up one morning with a screw stuck in my tire, in a spot that couldnt be patched of course.I ended up calling 3 other shops including Ford themselves and everyone else quoted me significantly higher than Caton for an exact replacement tire.Other than the great price, I really appreciated the honesty, transparency, and friendliness of everyone I had the opportunity to interact with. Matt is an absolute legend and was awesome to talk to on the phone.Fingers crossed I dont need a mechanic anytime soon, but if I do, Ill be sure Caton is my first call!

I could not be happier to leave this review. I brought my car to Caton Auto Clinic for a second opinion after receiving a lengthy list of fixes needed, from a local dealership. They were able to get my car in the very next day after calling them. They provided timely shuttle services to and from my house. They gave a report with pictures included of all the items inspected and their condition. It turns out that my car is in great shape; and there were no leaks, no parts needing to be replaced, or fluids to be drained and refilled. While this may not always be the case, I have learned that Caton Auto Clinic will not scam you for extra unnecessary work; they are a trusted local shop and I would highly recommend them as your choice of an auto repair shop.They gained a new customer in me!

I have used this facility for many years. My experience on this occasion was the same as all of my past experiences. My reception was very friendly and efficient. My car was taken in at the appointment time and the work was done efficiently. Any other work that was required was explained to me, and my permission was obtained before any work was performed. I have never had a bad experience with this facility and on this occasion that experience continues.

Im gonna say what I just told my husband on the phone- these people are AMAZING. I had spent all morning talking w/ pep boys and costco trying to get my tires replaced. I was irritated, having to make appointments online in order to reserve my tires/make new online accounts/etc. I called Caton Auto last, expecting them to be the most expensive option. Yall. Matt answered the phone and honestly my mood instantly change.He was so helpful and honest, clearly very experienced, and gave me precise answers to all my questions. He told me all my options, gave me pricing, and was hilarious at the same time. I was able to make my appointment on MY schedule, and I cant tell you how much more excited I feel about getting my tires changed now! AND its literally the same price (if not less than) the name-brand places. Cannot say enough about this shop- husband has been coming here for years and theyve just been incredible to us. Came to Baltimore from Michigan and my car started overheating.. called dozens of places and found Caton Auto clinic to be most professional, and helpful. Although I wasnt able to get a loaner car, they did provide a ride to and from their shop to help me out. I ended up having to get a new radiator and brake booster, and trusted their staff with the work. Everyone there was friendly and the work was completed in the timeframe promised, with no hidden fees (and under the quoted estimate). Would recommend.

I brought in my 2002 Toyota Tacoma 4WD with 196, 700 miles because the check engine light was randomly going on/off and I had to pass Virginia emissions in Jan. 2021. They found what needed to be replaced to pass emissions: O2, air sensor, etc. The also found that the frame had rusted whereby the driver side leaf spring mount on the frame was pushed up and rubbing on the gas tank. Also, each side of the read leaf spring mounts has less than1/2 inch of metal left for support, as the rest of the frame was rusted. Besides a potential for a vehicle fire, the rear axle could have sheared off, causing me to lose control. The mechanic said that the vehicle should not be driven. Traded in the Taco for a 4WD Ranger and got $2K for it. Tacos arent what they used to be. Thanks for saving my life Caton Auto Clinic, as I would have been a fatality on I-95!

The guys are amazing, service is excellent. The services they offer with the pick up and drop off of the vehicles makes life easier. The prices are great and always talks to us before work is done so no surprises. The turn around getting our vehicles back are fairly quick. I brought my Toyota Prius to Caton Auto based on all the positive reviews I found online. When they called with a repair estimate, which was several thousand dollars, they also suggested I contact Toyota because they thought an extended warranty had been issued for the part. It turns out that there was, and Toyota took care of the repair at no cost to me. Caton Auto could have very easily not told me about the warranty, but I am very grateful that they were honest. They have won me over, and I will definitely be back for future service!
