Went for brake service. After driving couple of miles I see brake fluid leaking on the wheels. I went back to the shop immediately for safety reason but they refused to take wheels off to check the leak. The manager tell me there are no leaks.Very rude and bad customer service. Dont go there at all!

I went to get tire rotation and front headlights changed from standard to LED. The charge price for tire rotation was great price...$18. However, just to change the front headlights from standard to LED is $60....WOW! I understand the cost of doing business but come on...just to switch two front light bulbs cost $30 each? Does not make sense...$40 or even $50 would have been acceptable. The only positive thing was that it was fairly quick...given it was only tire rotation and change of headlights but oy vey!

The engine on my VERY OLD Camry was giving me trouble for a while. Tony at the front desk was very courteous, their estimates of time for repairs were very good. And they were able to diagnose and fix a long standing problem. Certainly extended the life of my car for decent value.

They dont fix cars well here. I think their balancer needs calibration. They will mess up your tire balance for sure. My wheel nuts unevenly tightened. Not a quality maintenance.Yes the owner guy with accent is very rude like many said already. He will ruin your day.

Instead they assumed I needed a oil change and they claim they rotated my tires the nail still in the same tire in the front so how did they rotate my tires?? If I could rate 40 WEST AUTO REPAIRS JOHN KIM owner 0 stars I would. John Kim is a prime candidate for mean and ornery. On 2/25/21 needed a MD State Inspection which I paid $90. Repairs were done elsewhere. Returned for reinspection and the inspection ticket pd $30 and discovered the bulb that was replaced was not listed on the repair order but needed to be.Went across the street to PEP Boys to replace the bulb in question.Had to call the police just to get keys back. At this point did not get the inspection ticket. Call back to 40 West Auto Repairs requested to speak with the State Tropper for the businesses on 40 West. After all of the drama we fnally got the inspection report!Will never, ever do business here again. TOO EXHAUSTING!!!!!!!!BEWARE DONT DO BUSINESS HERE!!!

I would give them 0 stars if I could. Absolutely unprofessional! They will quote a different price then break an additional part in the car and charge hefty labor costs on top. People would have to pay otherwise theyre gonna be stuck without the car. All of the staff is very rude. Save your time and money and go somewhere else! They broke a part of my car...no apologies at all and then very conveniently said theyre closing and to come back after two days and on top of that they charged me $100 extra!

Can you find an honest mechanic anymore?! Went in on 5 AUG 19 to get my oil change done on my 2017 Honda Odyssey. I brought in my own Mobile 1 oil & filter I bought from Pep Boys right across the street earlier that morning. Paid about $20 or so for the oil change. On 2 FEB 20, I do my own oil change and guess what filter comes off my minivan? See attached photo. This PoS Made in China filter is DEFINITELY NOT what I dropped off to them. At this point, I can only assume what type of oil was poured into my engine. Em, em, em...

These guys came in on Christmas Eve which was a blessing for me because my engine was giving me problems. Everyone seemed to be on the Christmas spirit which made the stress of my car a little lighter. John, the owner, is always honest and fair. I always feel confident that the work is done correctly and that I wasnt sold something I didnt need. They are also accommodating when I need to have service performed in an emergency.

This place has very poor customer service and manners. They did a repair on my vehicle and then broke my sunroof. They were very dismissive and didn’t own to the error. Tony was very rude and dismissive. The owner John Kim was no help. Don’t take your vehicle to this place.

I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but my experience was not good. The staff was really useless. Bad customer service, nobody greeted me when I walked in, asked for help and the guy behind the counter seemed confused (which confused me). They were absent minded, but overall nice people. I was also misquoted on the price and time of the service, which in turn resulted in me missing another appointment. I’m really not surprised to see all the other 1 star reviews. Honest business, I went in to replace break pads on a new car because the car alarmed me, they checked and let me know that my pads are new and my computer just needed a reset, great experience! Will be going back for work needed on my car.

Weve been getting our cars serviced for years at 40 west lube and tune, but this is the first time we have been disappointed in both the service and management. We took our car in to get the battery replaced; instead they told us it was the alternator so we had that replaced. The following week, our car wouldnt start. We took it in again and AGAIN they replaced the alternator claiming it was a faulty part. One week later the car wouldnt start AGAIN! 40 West would not commit to incurring the cost of towing. The owner refused to talk to us on the phone and we were only able to speak with the manager. Very disappointing!

They are fraudulent people. Please dont go for any minor repair or State inspection. Guy name John kim is completely dishonest person. Even he knows customer can identify the lie easily, but he still lies to their face. This is coming from bottom of my heart, Please do yourself a Favor and stay away from this shop.

Ive been getting my oil changes and tire rotations here for years with no issues. Fast service, staff is friendly and informative. However, I cant speak for more complicated car repairs.

DO NOT come here for state inspections. When I first got my inspection done they had a full list of repairs that needed to be fixed so my inspection failed. He gave me an estimate cost for all the repairs which totaled over $1,200 dollars. I went to a different mechanic to see if I could get a better cost on the repairs and they told me that half the things on the list didnt have any issues whatsoever! I only paid half the cost for repairs (just a little over 600) Then I went back to 40 west lube n tune and without any word they passed my inspection. These people are crooks! They will tell you that you need repairs on something you dont. DO NOT GO! I REPEAT, DO NOT GO! Then just to be on the shady side, they will work on your car in the back without it being visible to customer sight. These people will take advantage of you and will try to take every single penny out of your pocket.

This place is the pits! Called prior to taking my car in because I had gotten a diagnostic test from Advanced Auto indicating the issues plaguing my car. The first time I called they gave me the canned schpeel, $90 diagnose, half goes to... yadda, yadda, yadda. I said, I just got a diagnostic and I wanted to buy the parts and have you install. They said, well the diagnosis you got may only show part of the issue and well be able to point out all of the issues.I took my car in a week later. Of course I got the same schpeel from the service wrtier (same one I spoke with on the phone). I got to the shop 30 mins after it opened and brought a lot of work with me so that I could sit at Panera (directly adjacent to the shop). I copped a seat looking right into the service bay. From my vantage point I could see everything, even the area where my car was sat in wait.The service writer (SW) calls me around 1000 to give me a run down and calls me back 30 mins later with a total. As we are finalizing the service I specifically ask, will this all be done today? The service writer says, yes it will all be done today.A little over 1.5 hours later I estimate that the parts should be in IF they are going to get this done today. Since I see my car sitting there soI give them a call at 1130 to check on the status. SW says I was about to call you, your parts are here and were are getting started. Obviously they know nothing about me sitting next door watching EVERYTHING.My car doesnt go into the service bay, THATS BEEN EMPTY FOR OVER AN HOUR, until a little after 230.I get a call at 430 from SW that we they only got to two items out of 5. And of course you guessed it, they chose to do the service that made them the most... not the service that would get my car on the road safely. I said what happen to everything else we agreed on? I said I wouldnt have agreed for you to do service if it wouldnt all be done at one time! SW says, oh something happened and lies, lies, lies. SW then says we will finish this part up by COB. I said by the time I pick it up you would had my car for 8.5 hrs and all you got done was a 3 hour job!I arrive (walk over) at 545. The car isnt even rolled out of the service bay until 720! They state the obvious again. Uhhhh, we couldnt get it all done. REALLY! I said, youre costing me more money and more time. I didnt plan to have my car here over night nor to pay for a quarter of the work we agreed on. I uber home! I get a call at 920pm the same night saying, WE FINISHED! Like they were proud of themselves. SW says, you can pick your car up anytime tomorrow. I said gee, thanks.I arrive next morning at 930. Pay for the service and jump in my car. I notice the car feels a little different as soon as it start idling. I take it for a test drive, which should have been done already, and notice my car is revving up to 2.5-3 rpm diring idle and at shift points! I scre the car back to the shop. Ive been writing this the whole time Ive been waiting... and I probably could write it all over again, by the time I get out of here.I hope this helps!!!!Update!!!So, I get my car back 2 hours later after they adjusted the throttle body. I didnt have time for them to test drive it. As I drove off I get not even five miles away and the check engine light clicks on! CLASSIC FAILURE!I WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE GOING BACK

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE. Was desperate to get inspection done ASAP. TOOK 3.5 hours and overcharged me because my brand new car had wheel locks and they didn’t know how to remove them. I didn’t look on here first but please save yourself time and money and go anywhere else!!! Should be reported to the police and have their licensing removed!

0 star if possible. Waiting for police as my car was vandalized badly in their care. They took $280 from me, didnt fix a thing, and told me I should just keep paying them. Clearly not people that are qualified to work on cars. My 10 year old niece could fix a car if I just let her keep replacing parts until something was fixex. Nobody on their staff cares at all about the fact that they took my money, fixed nothing, and could care less that my car was vandalized while in their care.Stay away!

Absolutely the worst people. John and his posse do not know what they are doing. Fyi.. its just better to have them do a md inspection on your vehicle because it cost less, or you could just take it to Manik muffler down the road.

Honest and informative.I came in to get my front brake pads replaced.I mentioned in passing that my rear brakes have cost me a fortune in the past several years. The rear brake rotors on my honda accord 2009 (front wheel drive) had to be replaced twice in the past 7 years, due to worn-out pads biting on rotors metal to metal. None of these events had any screech warning sound. One of those repairs was done as an emergency elsewhere. The kind owner informed me that based on the most recent data that accords of 2008-9 have a problem of rear pads prematurely wearing out before the front ones do. Consequently, the rear pads need to be replaced once every 1 to 1.5 year. The only way to slow this process down is to change the calipers but he didnt push that change on me during this visit. I will bring my car in for rear pads replacement every year.

Poor! They had me over a barrel for inspection and took advantage of that by adding services that werent needed! Customer service sucks! There was only one person who I could talk to and seemed concerned!

Not a good place. Very disappointed with the service they provide. They just try to rip you off by charging money for the same problem with different reasons. I went for AC repair and they have been incapable of fixing it and will charge money for filling up freon everytime you go there and then will charge you for eplacing some parts. Not at all honest.

He changed my differential and did not attach the parking brake to it . He tried to tell me that he can change my rotors but my rotors were brand new .Pedal brake stopped working while I was on the road with my children .If you value your life and your childrens , I dont recommend going here one single bit.

HORRIBLE! After my last experience I will not be back and will be warning others I know to find a shop that is more knowledgeable and puts an effort in resolving customer complaints. I took my car in to check the tpms light. The shop adjusted the tire pressure and reset the light. The next morning I drove it, the light came back on again. I took the car back again and the shop did the same thing (which was idiotic if it did not work the first time) and was told if the light comes back on to have the sensors replaced. To NO surprise the light came back on the next morning I drove the car.A day or two later I ended up looking up issues that are associated with the tpms light and came across others suggesting that some dash cams interfere with the tpms signal. I was not sure how, but figured it was worth a try (keep in mind that the dash cam remained in my car when I received service both times). I took the dash cam out of my car and the light immediately went off and has not been on since. Although the shop only charged $15.00 it should not have costed anything if they did not do anything to solve the problem and could not come up with a proper diagnosis that could get the light to go off.The repair shop refuses to refund my money although nothing they did for my car worked and seems to not believe the idea that the dash cam was blocking the signal to my sensors. Apparently it solved the problem and made the light go off on its own so everything the shop did was not needed. I would have appreciated if they just said they did not know what the problem was and did not charge people for things they dont know to resolve.There seems to have been a change in staff from a few years ago when the place actually used to be decent. If they do not want to be bothered with resolving customer complaints...this is definitely not the right profession for them. Their suggestion to replace my sensors would have costed at least $160 or more and I am sure it still would NOT have solved the problem and I would have wasted more money. I was told the first time I took my car that nothing was wrong with the sensors....so why replace them? Glad I only wasted $15 and not more. I will not be returning to this shop and would have given 0 stars if it was an option. If you want to gamble away your money...then this would be the place. If your car is not fixed dont expect them to refund your money or try to resolve the problem. Terrible customer service.

Lexus engine light still on after they charged 1500.00 for emission and coil repair. Dont go there and it still failed State inspection.
