They had the car for days and never got it up on the lift to do what we had asked. We give him a second chance and they were fabulous. What we were worried about was an electrical issue turns out it was a quick fix and they actually did it at cost and I thank them!! Good job restoring faith!!!

New to the area and first time here. Searched for a mechanic and found this place that specializes in Toyota’s and Honda’s. I have two older (2007, 2011) Toyota vehicles, and am generally a believer in specialists for best service. Figured I’d check this place out for my first oil change in my new state. Got an appointment and all went well. Service advisor (or whatever his title may be) informed me of some big items that may come up (120k mile maintenance). Met the owner who was friendly. Plan on being back.

Weve been taking both of our cars there for years with nothing but great experiences. William and Samantha are always friendly and they have always been very thorough in explaining the problems and what my options are for repair. They are also very good about prioritizing what needs to be done right away vs what you can hold off on. Highly recommended.

Very expensive they changed me 116 just to diagnose an abs light on a honda civic. The honda dealership would have charged me less and they gave me a bill of 1935$ if i wanted to get it fixed. I mean on a cheap honda civic how can u expect someone to pay almost 2000$. I got the issue fixed with a 75$ part and 150 labour. Dont let them rip you off.

I had a sliding door issue on my Odyssey. I had shown it to couple of places before, but no one could figure out why the doors were not working. I took it to TAO and on Day 1, even they could not figure out what was wrong since Computer diagnostic was not helpful. However, Jack (the mechanic) from the shop went home still bothered about this issue. Jack did some out of the box thinking that night and came back next morning (today) to find out what was causing it. He fixed the issue and the doors are working perfectly fine now (touch wood). Jack has made my life easier since, now I dont have to hear complaints from my family members!! Thank you Jack!!!

Tao kept the car almost a week without looking at it. Every day was another excuse. If I take it to them again (only in desperation) I hope they will do better time management. The prevailing excuse was not enough time today.

Tao has serviced our Honda Element & Toyota Prius for some time. Great work, always lets you know what is going on. Rear brake caliper on Element froze up and ruined brake rotor. William let us know what needed to be done and we did, also fixed a few other things that had been needing attention, nothing major. Runs great and stops great now!

Extremely disappointing experience with TAO. Got my daughters transmission replaced with them 11 months ago and then transmission went out again. When I brought the car back to TAO, they immediately said it was my daughters fault for the way she drives and were reluctant to replace at no cost to me even even though I had a 1 year warranty.After some back of forth they agreed to replace at no cost. When I picked the car up they told me that if this happens again that they will not honor another 1 year warranty for the new transmission they just put in. I then asked for the part manufacturers contact information so I could follow up and things quickly escalated from there. The woman working the front desk, maybe she was owner, not sure, took a more unpleasant tone and basically told me I should be glad they gave me another transmission. I thought she was very unprofessional in that moment. After nearly 20 years of good TAO service, they ruined a good relationship so I wont be going back there.

I own a 17 year old Honda Element which has rarely given me problems. As with any older vehicle, at some point there will be. I have been getting my car serviced at TAO for the last couple years. They are always knowledgeable, friendly, and give me details about what is happening and why. I had a rear differential completely broken and brake pads completely worn down on the same side. There were also some oil leaks in a couple places. This fix was a little costly but totally worth it. William explained the whole thing and I gladly paid for it. It was repaired speedily and the shuttle staff were efficient, Linwood & Heather. I will always use TAO for future services and recommend them to anyone else seeking a reliable repair shop.

The folks at Tao took excellent care of my two Hondas for the last four years until we moved out of the area. This included a recurring sensor reading in my 2010 Element that kept indicating a pricey repair--that the folks at Tao didnt do because their further investigation indicated that it wasnt warranted. I will follow a mechanic who declines to do a repair that they could do, even if not necessary, a long way, and I would still be using them if I werent a thousand miles away. They are diligent, friendly, professional, kind, and are very careful to give you complete information. A real gem in the Triangle for car repair.

Did not honor guarantees. They charged me $1,125 for an A/C repair they never finished. Its July and hot air is still coming out of my vents. Since they call theirselves honda specialists, we brought our 2007 honda accord to them. We were lied to and told the mechanical arms in the AC unit that were making clicking noises had been fixed. These guys fixed EVERYTHING they said was wrong, to include multiple fans when air coming out was adequate and never the issue. They failed to replace the AC compressor and then said itd be another $385 for them to fix that too. I wanted to give a local business, actual business, during the pandemic. Thats why we came here was to help out our local businesses/community and instead we were ripped off. I live paycheck to paycheck and was charged $630 for labor, when they had the vehicle a total of 5 hrs for a problem, not fixed. OVER $100 AN HOUR FOR A PROBLEM NEVER FIXED. I already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against these crooks.

Came to Tao for the first time and got my oil changed. The people there were very helpful and friendly. The oil change itself was inexpensive, and included a tire rotation plus checking a few other things on my car. I had low tire pressure, so they fixed that as well free of charge. I will definitely be coming back next time I need an oil change.

I have use those in service part. and Sometime theyre not understand explain in and the mechanic doesnt promise a flash check on and that how doesnt making few 2 month back again flash check engines. But sometime the mechanic a lazy doesnt rep lance it up. That how is his manger making fun of deaf dirty money to paid as $400 dollar. Never go promised. Try to best pay less mechanic area other location.

I am thrilled with their customer service!! I called to inquire about taking my moms car there for an unknown electrical problem. They were extremely personable and upfront in regards to not being able to see it right away. I spoke with two different people and the second person knew exactly who I was when I called back. We dropped off the car and the were able to work on it earlier. My mom cannot drive after dark so it was arranged (for a small fee) to have them deliver to her. Each interaction was met with professionalism and kindness and their fee was very reasonable. Thank you!!!!

They are honest and only recommend required work. Oil change in the morning is first come, first served so get there a little early if you want a shorter wait. We have been very happy with all of the work they have done on our 3 Hondas for 6 years.

Could not and would not resolve my check engine light. Charged $168.00 for a smoke test and $35.00 for a fuel cap with no resolution. Instead of providing a solution to my problem, the mechanic stated I should get rid of my 99 Honda accord, which by the way runs great. I will not be returning. Mr. Tire resolved my issue in 1 day.

TAO in Cary has always been extremely reliable, trustworthy and honest. When looking at cars I only consider makes that they will service (Toyota, Honda, Lexus, Acura). I dont want to deal with anyone else. If you own a vehicle that is one of the makes they service you need to put these guys at the top of the list the next time you need service. They will serve you well.

As a long-time Honda driver, Ive learned that you need to work with people that know and understand these cars to keep them working correctly. TAO Auto is a perfect fit for me and my family. And while I never like the idea of spending a lot of money on car repairs, the TAO Auto team helped me figure out what was truly needed now and what could wait a little longer.

Honest people. I did my transmission fluid change here. The other day I checked my trunk and found they put the left fluid in one bottle and put it back.

I have used them for 3 different Hondas over the last 15 years.My ONLY complaint would be the NASTY, NASTY cigarette smoking office. It bothers me to walk into the place to drop off my keys. Have used the Cary TAO Auto location for about 5 years.They are 100% honest and trustworthy. I would not bring my Honda any where else.They do both major work (head gasket replacement on my 95 civic) to regular oil changes. Their prices are very fair and have not recommend any unnecessary repairs.Highly recommended.

I have been taking my Hondas and Acuras to Tao Auto for 14 years. They always provide great, quick and affordable service.I have also been to a Honda dealer a couple times, but the Tao Auto experience is so much better. They keep excellent track of your service records and give you a heads-up if your next visit will be around a major service milestone. This is very helpful for budgeting for upcoming maintenance. They will also give you recommendations on how to save money on your service. I had a great experience with this recently when they replaced my wiper blades.In the end, if you have a Honda, Acura, Toyota or Lexus, Tao Auto is the only place I recommend going for service.

They called me after they repaired my car (but before I paid) to remind me that they had a 10% off coupon on Angies List. How many other shops go out of their way to remind you about discounts? Ive been here several times and have always been satisfied.

I took my 98 Honda Accord to TAO AUTO as TAO was recommended to me by a friend who had taken their Honda there for years. I told them my car was cutting off at highway speeds and at stop lights like an electrical problem without warning. They told me of a very common Honda recall on the ignition switch. TAO Auto saved me $160 as the dealership did it for free and TAO Auto didnt make a penny. They have never done work on my car but I can tell you they are at least honest and will be taking my car there whenever I need work done.

They only do oil changes 5 hours per week and you cant make an appointment. Everyone there with me was also getting an oil change, and every single one was also told that they had an urgent, expensive, necessary repair. One was told that the dealership put the wrong brand of manufacturer recommend spark plugs. To repair the engine damage will be $1600. Another person was told $680 to DIAGNOSE a possible leak, that doesnt include the repair or any evidence of a leak.

Ive been to these guys 4 times and I trust them. They have recommended against work that Honda dealerships have advised and Tao has given me understandable explanations about why not to do the work. They are willing to explain why work needs to be done and when work can be delayed.

Appreciate their honestly. Took my Toyota to Tao auto due to blinking air conditioning light (non-working air conditioning). They identified the problem and fixed it without having to drain the refrigerant and refilling it. They could have easily done that, charged me for it, and I would have never known that it was unnecessary (and I know of other car repair places that would have done exactly that).

Several years ago, I dropped off a 1997 Avalon with 190,000 miles that was handling poorly. I told the mechanic to do what ever was necessary to make the car handle well - new struts, whatever. When I retuned expecting a bill possibly in the $2,000 range, mechanic said no charge, you need better tires. An honest shop!Theyve had my business since.

After taking my Scion tC to Fred Anderson Toyota and other dealers when I was in Florida, my car was actually never serviced and I was lied to about it. Thankfully after my water pump breaking and oil not being changed ever due to the liars at the dealerships, William and Bill had Trey work on my vehicle when I found their shop! The price I paid to save my car was super reasonable and the work was done with extreme care. They even sent me to a great tire shop to fix any issues left by Toyotas lousy service.My car rides brand new and can handle Raleighs tough road conditions. Thanks to Tao Auto and the crew who work there and actually fix your car with care!

Big ripoffs I had my power steering fixed for 1000$ and it started to leak in 3 months. .I asked other mech they said to clean part and hose first l check in24 hours to see where week is coming from. They did not do this . The man at front desk willams said it probably someother part.so they fixed the wrong part for$1000 .it could probable be just a hose .IAM going to take it back and see if they will fix correctly. I live paycheck to paycheck. That s my rent for a month.if it not fixed proerly ill file a small claims suit against these thives.

Ive had my Honda cars serviced at Tao Auto for about the last 20 years. Great mechanics and personalized service, and the owner Thomas will treat you like family! In all those years. Ive never had them perform work that wasnt necessary! If you have an issue with your car, theyll show you exactly what the problem is, why its a problem, and whats the most cost effective way to manage it. Sometimes cars are so old that certain things dont make sense to bother with from a monetary point of view so long as it s not a dangerous situation, as was the case with one of my Accords that I owned for over 20 years. By the way, that 20+ year old car never once broke down and left me on the side of the road thanks to a well built car and a great shop, Tao Auto! These folks at Tao make an honest living doing great work. Ill be returning to Tao Auto with my 2013 Accord thats starting to get some miles on it, as well as a brand new 2015 Civic just purchased 6/2015.

I have taken my 2013 Honda Civic to Tao Auto in Cary twice for an oil change and tire rotation, and I believe that theyll be my last. Both times, I came home with a new sound on my car. The first time I came back from Tao Auto, the passenger, rear side squeaked whenever I applied the brakes (they assured me that my break pads and break shoes were fine). The second time I came back from Tao Auto, the driver, front side made loud rattling noises whenever I accelerate the car. When these issues were brought to attention, the mechanic at Tao Auto advised me that it sounds normal to him. While I agree that its probably is OK for me to drive my car in this condition, the fact is that they have introduced 2 new sounds that were not existent before they performed the standard maintenance procedures. I do not feel comfortable with the quality of their work nor their lack of attention to detail.I am, however, giving them a 2 star instead of 1 since it appears as though the oil has been changed.
