This Howell Mill location is ridiculous. Ive come to this location a few times and have even referred friends here because I like the sweet samba chain. Ive been there maybe 3 times and Ive never been asked to leave a CC for a down payment. I made an appointment yesterday and today, while Im in the middle of teaching 35 kids, I get a call asking to give CC information over the phone. I ask to give a call back in about an hour. Before my students could be dismissed I get an email stating that my appointment was canceled. I noticed the email while I was still and class and decided I was just going to call and deal with it later. My question is if you require a CC for a down payment, why not just set that up on your website so I can put my CC information in while Im booking the appointment? All of the other locations have this system in place. Why not you? Instead of calling me while Im at work and giving me some half apology when I call and discuss this with you? Now, on my day off tomorrow, I will be finding somewhere else to get my services done.

I went to Sweet Samba for the first time on Saturday and at first ya girl was nervous, but after arriving I met Shana and she changed my entire mood! She made me feel comfortable and welcomed. She was very informative, laid back and caused me absolutely No Pain! Never would I have imaged I’d be laying bottom exposed on a table, cracking up laughing with the woman whose about to give me a Bikini wax. Yet I did, and Trust.. I would highly recommend her!

I warn every esthetician to forgive me in advance. I am the biggest crybaby when it comes to waxes because I only go three times a year. Not only did Stephanie get me back to work in time for my lunch break. She did not get a single cry out of me and she just started in March!! this is my new favorite spot

I have very sensitive skin and the aesthetician used products that were perfect for my skin - utilizing sugar vs. wax. Not only was the service painless, it was done in a timely yet skillful manner. I loved, loved, my experience at Sweet Samba! I was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in and didn’t have to wait for my appointment time. I did eyelash extensions and micro blading for my brows and got compliments on them everyday! I was also personally greeted by the owners who were both so sweet and professional. This is the ONLY place I allow to wax me Bc it’s ALWAYS done right! My body hair is fierce and warrior like, and I always come out clean. The Estheticians are always professional and the facility is always clean. They also have super cute decor. I’ve also had my lashes done there and it’s THE BEST lash installation I’ve ever had. Never too much glue. The lashes don’t poke my eyelids when they grow out like at other places, and they’re always full and gorgeous like I like them. Not at all ghetto. 10/10 absolutely would recommend.

I have been an Atlantan for 11 years and a loyal customer of Sweet Samba for the last 10. Chasity and Niesha at Sweet Samba West Midtown have become like sisters to me. They provide excellent waxing and sugaring services from bikini to Brazilian, underarm, brows and more. They are well known for their excellent lash services and facials as well. Their prices are competitive and fair and their staff is very welcoming. During Covid they’ve taken proper precautions to cleanse and set appointments. They have previously been open to walk-ins if you have 20 minutes to be squeezed into their books. Don’t forget to check out their exfoliating products upon check out.

I LOVE Sweet Samba, just realizing as I am writing this review I have been a customer for a whole decade now! This location is most conveinant for me to get too and I love the team members here, everyone makes you feel so comfortable during such an uncomfortable service. I have been going to Chasity for several years now. I never have to wait; I can always get an appointment when needed. The ambiance is amazing with relaxing music, nice scents and appropriate lighting. I have relocated to Michigan and have tried other salons but none compare to Sweet Samba and the service I get from Chasity. I travel from MI to GA just for my brazilian service! Chasity makes you feel comfortable from the first time she meets you and it only gets better from there. After talking and laughing through all my appts, I rarely even remember shes skinned me! Lol

Every time I visit the estheticians are so gentle and thorough. They’re flexible with the appointments and fast.

This was my second time going to this location for a Brazilian wax. I normally used another location but realized this one was closer, so I tried it. The first time was good but the second time, I was burned. I kept telling her the wax was too hot and if she could blow the wax a little before applying right after she got it from the wax warmer. Later that day, I noticed the burn and called the store. The receptionist tried to blame me saying I waited too long in between waxes which I informed her that I went of the date given from the establishment and that I was actually early (3 weeks). After I debunked that theory, she went on to say I must be too sensitive for their products, which was also invalid because I use the franchise regularly, just not that location (which nothing happened the first time I went there). After that, I told her to cancel any remaining sessions I had and if thats how they treat customers then I will no longer be one. I understand things happen but by no means should you try to blame the customer!

I’ve been coming to this location for about 5 months and i will say that every esthetician I’ve seen is fantastic. They do a great job and are very knowledgeable. However, the girl who works at the front is absolutely terrible. So rude, very unprofessional. I called yesterday to schedule an appointment and she answered the phone by saying “do you have an appointment?” No greeting, no hello, nothing. I said “excuse me?” And she said “sorry, thanks for calling etc...” I couldn’t believe it. I came in at 10:27 today for my 10:30 appointment, and the receptionist said “she’s finishing up with another client.” After not having been taken back 10 minutes later, I asked if it would be much longer. The receptionist said “well we took her back late so it’ll probably be another 10 minutes.” Would’ve been nice to know my appointment would be 20 minutes late when I arrived but I guess that level of customer service is out of her reach. THEN, my esthetician walked through the main front door (not the back of the salon) and said “hey are you ready to come back?” So the receptionist was lying. Cool. There are so many other instances of the receptionist being unfriendly and rude. As much as I like the estheticians, I will not be coming back to this location.

I am only doing a five star review because the girl I go to does a great job and she deserves five stars. But I do not think it is good customer service what so ever to move your employees around and not call the clients to make them aware. I am in the customer service industry and consider that very very poor customer service. People do not go to places majority of the time because of the place of business they go for the person who is doing the service! I definitely think you should change your policies and until then I guess it’s a mouse hunt!

DO NOT VISIT. This place is a joke.I made an appointment for a Brazilian wax at 6:15PM. After fighting traffic to get here on time, I discover both parking spots in their lot are full. I park in a neighboring lot and walk to the front entrance, still arriving at 6:15PM. Upon entering, I saw one other patron sitting in the lobby, but no staff members. A staff member did not come out to the front until 6:33PM, nearly 20 minutes after my arrival.When the staff member finally came out to greet the three customers in the lobby, she asked who had made the appointment. I identified myself, and she said she could see me in 15 minutes. I told her I had to be somewhere at 7, which is why I made the appointment at 6:15. She said I could come back the next day, or she could call the Midtown location to see if they could take me. After I explained that I did not have time to be driving around, and added that I was leaving for vacation the following morning at 5:30AM, she said she wouldnt be able to see me.This location clearly has no respect for patrons visiting after normal work hours if they cant bother to staff the location with more than one person.I will not be returning, nor will I recommend this location to my friends. Dont bother making an appointment. It wont be honored.

So I went to this location because my first choice wasnt open on time. I paid for a Brazilian wax that means ALL THE HAIR SHOULD BE REMOVED!! She did not extract the flyaways with tweezers and I have patches all over!! This is the worst wax Ive ever had in my life!! These locations are individually owned so choose wisely!!

I went here for my first Brazilian wax ever and it was not as painful as I imagined it would be. I would highly recommend the Brazilian because it was so smooth and silky and lasted weeks longer than shaving. Plus the esthetician who take care of me was hilarious and made the experience so comfortable. The only bad thing about this place is that there isn’t enough parking, and they’re severely understaffed. Even with an appointment, you’ll still be waiting around 30 minutes to get taken care of.

Only giving 2 stars, because my waxer was honest about sugar wax and I appreciated it. Long story short, the room was really hot and uncomfortable, which made the whole process more difficult. My waxer didn’t know what service I was receiving until AFTER she’d began the wrong thing and I had to tell her she was wrong. She made comments about my reaction to the waxing, which made me feel bad. She missed a good bit of hair. She was quickly out the door before I could catch that she missed spots. When I exited the room, her friends were waiting in the main room and she was out the front door so I couldn’t address her about not being thorough. The price advertised outside is WRONG. It’s not $35, but at that point I’m not going to argue and I paid $45

Went to an interview a few weeks ago, when I pulled uo I was going to leave because it felt creepm The interview person was 10 minutes late and I wasnt feeling her, but I was cordial. This ignorant woman had the nerve to ask me what my zodiac sign was because she didnt like the zodiac sign taurus. I couldnt believe it, glad I had accepted a job elsewhere prior to going, her biases and unprofessionalism were childish and uncalled for.

Incredible experience during my first time at Sweet Samba. I am a student new to the area and previously a European Wax Center client in another state. I figured I would just find an EWC location in or around ATL, but was referred to Sweet Samba by a friend and decided to give it a try. Im so glad I did! I arrived early for my appointment and was able to get in a bit before I expected. I was with Jo (sorry if my spelling is off!) who did an incredible job, kept me comfortable and the conversation flowing. The studio is absolutely adorable as well, a converted garage or warehouse space, as mentioned in another review, that is now decorated with touches of rustic and bohemian influence, yet still very chic. Also, at $40 (current, as of March 24, 2018 - theres a sign that announces the price change) the price is just right for me. I had a lovely experience and will definitely be back! (:Updated March 29, 2021 - It really pains me to write this because Sweet Samba has truly been my favorite studio since I wrote my first review three years ago. However, I am extremely disheartened by the service I received two days ago on Saturday, March 27. When I arrived for my appointment at 10 AM, no one was at the front desk. I wrote my name down on the sign-in sheet and waited for assistance. Around 10:15, the receptionist arrived. I didnt recognize her and she did not greet me. Once she was settled, she asked flatly, Whats your name? After I told her my name, she didnt respond. After another 10 minutes, an esthitician entered the lobby snd said my name. She did not tell me hers. She was realatively short with glasses. I followed her into the wax room where she told me to undress while she stepped out of the room. She told me that she would knock to make sure I was ready before reentering. After about two minutes, she knocked and reentered even after I vocalized that I wasnt finished undressing. She hurriedly began my services. She DID NOT apply baby powder or wipe down the areas, which I hae come to expect not only from Sweet Samba, but as a standard acorss all wax studios. Her application methods were messy and she hardly let the sections cool before attempting to remove the wax. Naturally, this resulted in inneffective wax removal and more pain for me. She went over the same sections multiple times and used the same stick on multiple areas. At the end of my service, I was left with patches of unremoved hair and lots of sticky wax residue. The estitician did not bother to tweeze any of the stragglers. She slapped aloe vera onto my skin and rushed out of the room. This was the worst wax service I have ever received. I can only pray that I dont end up with a ridiculous amount of ingrown hairs. When I let the receptionist know that I wasnt satisfied with the service, she didnt both to ask any follow-up questions, and simply said, Oh, sorry. I do accept part of the responsibility for not speaking up more during my service (though I did voice my concern about baby powder not being used). However, I was honestly just in disbelief. Following the initial shutdown due to COVID-19, I moved out of Atlanta and have only recently returned. I can only attibute this expereince to employment/ management changes that were likely made while I was away. Either way, I am so incredibly disappointed and will unfortunately not be returning to Sweet Samba. Back to the drawing board for a new studio :(

Ive been getting brazilians for about 5 years now. Since being in ATL Ive usually gotten them at Natural Body Salon. Sweet Samba is about half the price and Ive found their skill level in giving brazilians much, much more consistent. Would totally recommend this place to both seasoned brazilian getters and newbies!!
