Great concept terrible customer service.I rented a car for an hour and a half. I went to the grocery store and came back to the car with 20 minutes to spare. Got in the car, grabbed the key, hit the ignition, nothing happened. Called customer service and 20 minutes later we get the car started.I advise the agent I only have 1 minute left on my reservation and I dont want to be late since I had technical difficulties. He said, I will extend your reservation 30 minutes. Fast forward a day, I get billed for the extension. Call customer service and explained what happened, the rep tells me I have to pay for the extension. Why? I wasnt joyriding, I was stuck in a parking lot troubleshooting a rental car. He says well either way I cant give you a credit for the time.Mind you this was a $5 credit, I didnt even ask for a credit on my reservation for the broken down car, and they wouldnt even give that!Thumbs down

Bla. Tried it for a month as I was getting settled in the Atlanta area and did not have a car. Concept is great - but the bills quickly add up. Probably great if you consistently find yourself in different cities AND consistently in a jam in not being able to find a car. I dont fit this demographic. If they lowered their prices, may make it a more viable option for local repeat customers. I finally just bought a car instead. :p

Ive never been to the office but for as long as Ive been a member of ZipCar, Ive only had one issue which was resolved quickly over the phone. I love the cars that are available in my area and I can honestly say that this is better than renting from Enterprise or any other car rental place.

I love the ZipCar Concept, but there customer service is awful. No way for them to really solve issues in person. Their accounts team will not get on the phone... they will only interact by email. Spent 1/2 hour on the phone with nothing accomplished but pending charges on my credit card. Called the customer service team back and they can not answer why and the folks who can will not get on the phone. Frustrating...

Nice and easy. I needed help reactivating my membership after my university email address expired. We had everything resolved in about 20 minutes. The office staff were friendly and helpful.I was a bit nervous going in after seeing other Google reviews, but happy to report that I exited the office unscathed with ZipCard in hand.Based on my anecdotal experience, I would recommend this ZipCar office to others in the Atlanta area.

I had the worst experience with Zipcar Atlanta over the weekend. I booked a reservation for a car on Saturday afternoon. I arrived at the pick-up location to find that the car wasnt there. I called customer service to alert them of this massive inconvenience only to be greeted (Im using that loosely) by a representative who seemed to not know what time zone I was in and was very confused initially as to what my concerns were. After going back and forth to help him understand that the car I reserved wasnt there he then says oh maam I think the car is already reserved... duh!! My biggest issue is what do I do now, by this time Im super frustrated and this guy tells me to go half a mile down the road to pick up another car and theyd help me out by giving me a one hour ride credit. Thanks. Oh but thats not all, I arrive at the next car by taxi only to find that the car is inoperable. The battery had died. So I call customer service yet again only to be taken through a tedious troubleshooting session before being referred to ANOTHER car. I then must taxi to a new location, 1 mile in the opposite direction to this third car. Once I arrive Im finally able to get in the car and drive to my destination nearly three hours late. To add insult to injury, I look at my statement the next day to find that Ive been charged improperly- once for the initial reservation in which the car wasnt at the location and then again for the final and only reservation I was able to utilize. I call the dreaded customer service number again to only be directed to the local office who has yet to return my call. Pretty sure I wont be continuing my membership.

I was excited about joining ZipCar following positive experiences with Communauto in Montreal QC. I paid the $15 (student rate) to sign up, but have used it only once in the past year. It was helpful when I needed to rent a cargo-van to move furniture into my new place, after that I have wanted to book again, but have run into issues.Although they advertise $9/h, these cars are few and far between. You can find them on the website, but there are not many. Most cars are between $11-15h and are nice, even luxury by my standards. The price does not include tax, which adds even more.Though I wanted to use Zipcar several times in the past year, I have been disappointed to find that cars in my price range are so few. I would rather have many cheap cars all over the city than one Lamborghini downtown.I dont know if their current business plan is successful, but in the interest of lower-income customers, I would appreciate if Zipcar makes affordability and accessibility a higher priority. More $9/h cars please.

This service is just.. eh okay. There are generally not enough cars available in each different price range. Also, depending on which Atlanta neighborhood you stay in, you will likely have to take the train or an Uber / Lyft to the cars location. You have to return each car to their specific parking spot. This means you will have to catch the train or Uber / Lyft BACK home after your reservation. You better know EXACTLY what time youll be getting back because you have to schedule an end time for your reservation. Go ahead & take on an extra hour to account for Atlanta traffic because if you have the car back late there is a $50 fee. There is also a fee to lengthen your reservation once its made. Theres even a fee to SHORTEN your reservation if you get back early!Often, the cars have body damage so you have to take extra time to call in to report these conditions so the blame doesnt land on you. Its normal to have check engine lights on, or warnings about tire pressure. Features like Blue Tooth often dont work in the vehicles, making business trips less productive. You have to set your reservation 30 min early each time so that you have time to tidy the vehicle, check for issues & report them before you get on the road. I have learned this over time. When Ive called to report the check engine light coming on etc, customer reps dont seem to care. Ive gotten responses like, Oh it should be fine. The app is completely lacking. There is an option to communicate any shortcomings the app has but it doesnt matter - they dont update features or make improvements. When you call customer service, they generally encourage you to do things online yourself. Who walks around with their laptop? Thats the point of the app. But the app sucks so bad you have to log on through an actual computer to access things.Unless you stay in the immediate Atlanta area, the gas cards will not be accepted at gas stations. This mean you have to pay for fuel from your own account, then take extra time to submit a request for reimbursement. Again, the app fails you because you can only submit a fuel reimbursement from the full site on a computer.Zipcar is a great concept with poor execution. If it was operated like the European version it would be flawless. I am hopeful a different option comes to the Atlanta area by the time my annual membership expires.Hope my review helps if you are considering Zipcar.

Terrible customer service.I was in an incident in my Zipcar 2 weeks ago. After the investigation I was found to be at no fault and was told by the first representative I spoke to that the hold on my account would be lifted in 5-7 business days. Nearly 3 weeks have passed, I call Zipcar every 2 days, & every customer service agent keeps telling me to call back in 24 hrs, (which i do) only to get the Exact same response..I called today and demanded a supervisor (who was rude & just completely dismissive) who informed me that there in fact is No time frame. Zipcar can keep my account on hold as long as they please!!! & it only took me calling 10+ times for them to tell me!!!!Why am I paying for a membership, insurance, & damage waiver fees if I cant even use it???!!

The closest car available to me is in Carrolton which is about the same distance as the airport. I can just go to the airport and catch the train to work and back. One would think to extend their reach further and in more locations.
