Service was better this time. much better than that horrible experience we had about 3 years ago.

I have been using these guys for awhile now and all started with my work vehicle transmission going out. They arranged for a tow truck to come and get the vehicle promptly and got it working and running again in a super reasonable time. Not have they done that but also serviced other repairs on it and now my personal vehicles too. They are straight up good honest people, respectable, so good work and get it done. And you can tell how much they car because their office and bathroom are clean and organized compared to most places. I’m going to keep using them and highly recommend them to any who need vehicle repairs. Give J Car and try!

They took almost an hour out of their day to explain to me everything that might be wrong with my transmission, have me advice on what my options are, and quoted me fairly for a rebuild or a replace. If I end up getting the transmission replaced, I will definitely go here. They seem like rather trustworthy guys. He also reset my check engine light, and gave me some advice on that too. Unsolicited advice in this instance was very helpful and Im grateful for it!

My wifes father recommended us. We dropped it off on Tuesday and picked it up wensday thinking it would stop running the way it was. 250 dollars later we have the same problems just 4 quarts of transmission fluid more and a few bolts tighter. They let my wife sit there for about half an hour before saying anything to her. Still runs terrible still and now Im out 250 bucks. 2 out of 10, mediocre at best. Bring your car some where else.

We were recommended to them by a Firestone manager as they didnt do that kind of stuff. So we showed up this morning as my daughter’s car seemed to be having some transmissiony tantrums. Joe the owner agreed to take us in as a walk-in and take a look. He test drove it and reset some error codes on the car’s computer and had us on our way, well before his promised time. A true repair professional and honest to the core. I highly recommend this business and I will go out of my way to give them my business.

Came in here with a used car that I purchased within the last 30 days. I thought there may have been a transmission issue that I wanted to have checked out before I drove all the way back to Charlotte.The gentlemen was kind enough to take fifteen minutes of his time to drive my vehicle and reassure me everything was in good standing without charging me.I appreciated the kind and quick service.

I would give them 10 stars if I could. They are very helpful and nice! We were from out of town, our cars AT light went on so we went there to have it checked before driving back home. They took the car for a drive and told us that we should not have problem drive back to Florida. We got home safe! Thank you I-Car Transmission!!

Best transmission shop around Joe is superb

We were on a road trip from Wilmington to Knoxville and our check engine light came on near Ashville. We stopped by Advanced to have the code read, turns out it was something transmission related. We found J-Car on Google and went directly there (primarily because because it was the closest place to us). They helped us immediately and took the car for a ride. The came back and told us what was going on but they thought we would be fine to continue on our trip. This was very reassuring and we realize they didnt have to help. We happily went on our way. In a time where customer service is nonexistant this gives me hope.

Pulling a trailer from Florida transmission problems started. Got the truck to j car and they analyzed and repaired within hours. Great feeling being cared for this way. Even took us to rental car company. Thank you so much. Bill and diane

Nicest most honest people! I was traveling from sc to Kentucky when the transmission started acting up. They diagnosed it for me. It was under warranty in sc so they didnt fix it but if this was my town I would only use J-Car!

I was referred to J-Car Transmission by another very trustworthy mechanic whom I knew would not recommend J-Car to address a transmission leak unless they were highly reputable. Cant say enough about their friendliness, professionalism, and customer service. At my request, they provided best case/worst case cost estimates for correcting my problem. One estimate included the cost of a part which thankfully was not required. They easily could have replaced the part which unscrupulous shops sometime do. Not J-Car....they were honest and did great work. I would recommend them highly!

I broke down in NC while on vacation. I had my car towed to J Car Transmission--the WORST mistake I could have made! My car had a transmission issue; so I thought I could rely on Jimmys boasted 37 years of experience within his shop.First, he fixed my car, but he couldnt get it to start after replacing what he thought was the problem. After having the car towed to the dealership to have the part he broke replaced, he had it towed back to his shop where he spent another week trying to figure out what was wrong with the car. (The first part he replaced did not fix the problem).After four weeks of going back and fourth, he still did not know what was wrong with the car. We had no choice but to have it towed back to the dealership to have it repaired properly--they took only 4 days.On top of all of our grief, when we did get the car back, it was trashed, and the undershield of the engine was not given to the dealership to return to us.Beware of this guy, Jimmy, and the work he does at this shop!
