They have a security guard at the door to enforce their unconstitutional mask mandate. 3 employees and 20 people waiting to be helped. Waited for over an hour to just pick up a watch that was on hold. Save yourself a frustrating headache and visit the dimond mall store. They are super fast, polite and very helpful

2 Hr. WAIT time. 13+ people in the wait line. Security at the front door made me feel like I was going through TSA security! Customer service made me feel no different than the TSA frist unit at the front door!!!

Employees are friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is waited 30 minutes to be told that they didnt have the phone I wanted in stock. They were out of stock on most of the phones they have on dispkay. Why they didnt remove the display models or mark them out of stock I dont know.

Absolutely horrendous customer service. The whole reason we switched to GCI was to take advantage of a special they were running. Several months later, turns out they were not discounting our lines to honor said discount. Still would not honor it after yet another visit in store. Asked politely to have a manager call me by the end of the day, was assured that would happen, never did. (This was first thing when they opened, so they had all day.)On top of that, all of their lobbies are so outdated for the type of interaction you have with their staff. Even something as simple as paying your bill or making a slight alteration to something on your account requires you to stand around awkwardly for 10 minutes +, unlike ATT or Verizon where they sit you down and at least warn you this could take a couple minutes.Absolutely do not recommend.

I first went to the Abbot store but they don’t carry any TiVo or internet boxes at all. Next I spent over two hours on the phone with Ann who said she would overnight me the boxes meanwhile putting me on hold at lest ten times then forgot about me. I called back snd talked to Mike who assured me the C street store had the boxes and were holding them in my name. Got to the C street store and they only had one box so now sending me to the Dimond Center where I was assured the TiVo box had my name on it. On my way now. Wish me luck!! Wasted five hours running and calling GCI. ATT here I come. GCI customer service call in is the worst ever.

This place runs customer service exactly like the DMV, you take a number and sit in the sea of folding chairs as security stares you down. The sales people also act hassled that youre there and cant be bothered to make deals or offer incentives to switch carriers or offer solutions to issues with their service.

Geez, its like what bill can I not pay this month, so I can at least buy groceries and pay the rent, just so I can have internet and phone service.

I came here to get my grandmother a new phone not too long ago. She has a hard time with the touch screens and smart phones. She proffers phones with buttons and they were able to find one for me that worked great for her.

I was having problems with my phone. So I came into thr store here. The security took my name and gave it to the receptionist. I waited my turn and was so lucky to get Ulysses. We had a little chat about my issue and he right away had a solution. He was friendly and efficient. Good at talking so there wasnt that uncomfortable dead silence. It was great. He also gave me a card, wrote his name on ot and told me how to co tact technical support if I was still having issues. I am very grateful for thr help and have had no issues since. Thank you!!

I had a lifeline plan- but needed a new phone. When I tried to sign up for a contract, I was told that there is apparently a bill in collections under my name for 72$ (that’s over a decade old!!) and until that was handled- I couldn’t get a new plan. I asked if I could pay it outright then and there, despite this being the first I’ve ever heard of such a bill, and they said that I’d have to handle that with the collections department. Furthermore- they couldn’t help me with any of that, told me to call the collections office. When I was there that day because I needed a phone and did not have one!!Farthest thing from being “helped” whatsoever. I’ve yet to experience anything that was a positive encounter at any point in my life from GCI.

Unfortunately in Alaska we don’t have many great choices when it comes to cable and Internet. G C I knows they are one if the only games in town and they act like it! It is one of the worst companies We have ever had to deal with. If you enjoy the pleasure of poor customer service and call backs a month later, waiting over the phone for 10-30 minutes and listening to the worst music, this is the company for you!

Customer service is non existent. Have a question? Go find another GCI customer before trying to ask these people. You want to call? Expect to wait 40 minutes. Want to go in? With COVID you will wait 30+ minutes, even if youre just asking a question, making a payment, or dropping off a device. Terrible. I like the GCI services, but this store is awful.

GCI treated me fairly. Unfortunately I needed a plan for a remote area in Alaska. Dutch Harbor is a lot more expensive than the Urban Cities in the State. Regardless, Im a subscriber to their services and am happy they provide them way out here.

GCI Customers Care Reps on phone are the best customer care agent I have ever dealt with. Their call center staffs are amazing. But at the store... rude and unprofessional employee. Security guy was very unwelcoming, and the person who assisted didnt really wanted to help us. We were there to switch from AT&T to GCI + to get 2 new connection with a home internet service. Honestly that dude made me think twice. We almost walked out of the store. Dejon? I think that was his name. Needs to be trained. Everyone else seemed nice.

How many hours must someone sit and wait just to turn off service to their house? This is a good question when going to this store. The answer is - several. Why would you have only one person working the counter on a weekend? Another great question. Come on in to this store, where you’ll have plenty of time to sit and ponder life’s other great questions. Should have known this would happen... GCI sucked the whole time I lived in Alaska. I moved away in August. Returned all our gear to GCI and ended services... Well, guess what showed up in the mail? A bill... I called to tell them Im not longer living in the state, I turned all my gear in and ended services before I left. After about a hour of going back and forth with the assistant manager, he said he would credit me back the billed amount. Good, no issues... Well, guess what shows up again... The same bill. This next phone call wont be so nice

Big props for gci customer service all around all of the time. Best Ive ever received from a provider anywhere.. Thats important however... Services in my area are nowhere near whats advertised though. Ive never seen a 5g speed on my newly purchased $1500 5g samsung ultra and my 1 gig home internet never comes close either. I feel as if I am paying for the development of these services when I should be getting discounts as an early subscriber. Being as Samsung typically only supports 3 generations of Android its very likely my phone will be obsolete before gci completes its 5g service rollout... gotta fix that part folks!

I now remember why we left gci the first time. Horrible gear that doesnt work. Now paying $175 for internet and it doesnt work, again. I had a technician here yesterday and it already is down. The other guys were slow, but at least their router worked

Lost a customer. I went in to get my wife a new sim card. The clerk said it would turn her phone off. I told him not to do it, called my wife, and he did it anyway. They lost her as a customer as I cannot get her this sim card during this time of year for too long. Now she has to get a new phone, call businesses, and this has turned her life completely upside down. She was being harassed by someone and were unclear who so giving the new number out to everyone will be problematic. GCI has been the worst thing in our lives.

In the past, Ive received excellent customer service. In this case however the reception person was completely rude, did not listen, was dismissive and interrupted each sentence that the person I was with and myself attempted to make. She was a horrible reception person and really shouldnt be in that position... With her General attitude and demeanor, Im not sure she should be in any professional position without extensive customer service training. Learning the art of listening would be greatly beneficial to her and anyone - and I mean anyone professionally or personally - who has the opportunity to talk with her. Her name was Kayla. I found her services to be far below stellar and her attitude completely inappropriate rude and dismissive I tried to explain a very simple concept which she interrupted and said this is totally different and I had not yet even finished what I was about to say and when I try to say something further the person I was with said shes not listening to you. She interrupted the person I was with him said oh I am listening I just had to do this this in this. Unbelievably rude, unbelievably opinionated and arrogant. Ive never had such a bad experience at GCI in my life. Normally their employees are incredibly competent both in person and over the telephone. This Kayla should not be working at the front desk or in any position without extreme and extensive customer service training. Learning the art of shutting her mouth when somebody else is speaking, especially a customer, would greatly benefit her. It would greatly benefit anyone around here. As I said earlier, this was a very negative experience and Kayla was the cause of it. What we were asking about she made sound impossible which was far from impossible. She also used the term iOS in a way to make yourself look smarter and confuse the person I was with. I had to actually say to the other person shes talking about an iPhone. I got the impression she like to Bandy a term about to make yourself seem smarter than she was and to confuse the general customer. The person I was with an I left completely dissatisfied and rather upset by her supposed customer service skills. She realized just how badly she had behaved and tried to backpedal and be a little bit more friendly when she realized that we would probably report her to a supervisor. It was painfully obvious, transparent and really quite the satisfying.

XFINITY does not exist here in Anchorage, and probably the entire state. Internet access and data plan are costly enough to consider buying another, more compatible, GSM provider. (Ive not been impressed with the stability of their internet services, either.)

I have been on the phone three times with a combined hold time of 20 min. I sometimes purchase prepaid data plans from GCI because you can put the SIM cards in any device and it works. But I have to say, that the amount of time I spend on the phone and in the lines at the store is not fun. This is also not a fluke on their part. It is always like this when I call or go to the C ST store. If you have a choice, go to Verizon or at&t. The experience will be better. I can vouch for this because I work with both, and the customer experience is much better. Since I started this review, it has been another 10 min on hold. I have given up and am going to driver over to at&t to get a sim from them.

Literally worst customer service I have ever seen. Beware if you call because youll be put on hold for 30 minutes then hung up on immediately. If you are lucky enough to get though you get transferred though about 10 different extension before actually speaking with someone who can barely help. While writing this I am literally on hold again for 20 minutes after being hung up on after a 35 minute wait. This is absolutly deplorable business operations. I have been without service for 6 days now and none of these monkeys seem to know whats going on.

Great customer service , orderly in the way they have the next in line now serving system. I prefer to use the self service kiosk if the line is long which is very convenient for me. When that place has a line it might be a little bit of a wait .The service seems expensive but the large majority of the of the employees Ive interacted with have been extremely helpful both in person and on the technical support line and the customer support line, even the people have called to pay my bill were extremely helpful and friendly.Phone service , home or business internet , wrooting around , you name it 😎👍!
