Called twice.Explained exactly what we were looking for. After a waste of a long conversation, was advised that they couldn’t help us unless we had home and auto with them. Very unpleasant and unprofessional. Both the receptionist and woman we spoke with made it seem a chore to help us. Had to repeat myself constantly during the conversation.

Great communication, very competitive rates

I first used an independent insurance agency a couple decades ago when I returned from overseas and needed to buy a vehicle and get insurance immediately (in order to not let insurance lapse). I was in a small town and had little choices available. I then transferred this policy to Atlanta when I settled here permanently and have stayed with independent agencies ever since. I found out that the main thing you need to look at is the AM Best rating and, as long as it is high, you can basically trust the insurance company. However, the companies represented by independent agencies have policies that are significantly lower in price for the same coverage than the well known companies who advertise a lot. I have, consequently, stayed with an independent agency for both auto and home for 26 years now. I have filed only one claim which was handled expertly and quickly (a roof replacement). Every few years, I reprice my policies with nationally known firms and, to date, they have always been significantly higher in price for both auto and home. It goes without saying that Berger and O’Neal has quality people who are professional, efficient, and accommodating (because I would not consider using any company that did not). I would highly recommend them for all your insurance needs.

Responsiveness to questions is always fast. Very good follow through. Janelle has been great to deal with from the beginning and she is the major reason why we went with Berger & O’Neal insurance group. My wife and I have been clients for 15 years or more and the reason is 5 star service. Lee and Michael have a A1 team bar none. Every year we are inundated with requests for free rate quotes from the competitors but decline the requests due to the fact these guys are family. How many of the big companies can you call the owner to help you with questions about your coverage or claims? We have never hesitated to call Lee and he has always been our advocate not an adversary. The intangible value of great service will always outweigh a few dollars of savings on rates from other insurance companies and that is why we have been loyal customers for years.
