Im only now learning that my cat is a Turkish Van instead of a long haired Calico.Turkish Vans are very high energy and I was expecting a calmer cat when adopting.This means I had to make a lot more changes to my life than I had thought, which is fine, but knowing her breed years ago would have prevented a lot of learning curves and frustration.

With the overload of animals from Covid-19, the Staff at the shelter are awesome. The stalls are clean, the dogs are not left in their stalls 24/7; they have play time with an attendant.Stop by and find your new best friend or a sweet little lap dog.

I got my girls from this shelter and let me just say. The employees here are amazing, sweet, passionate, patience and very friendly. I had gone in for a certain cat I saw on the site but they helped us pick out the best fluff for our family.

Really great. We came to view a dog that was already adopted, so they asked us what we were looking for and brought in a few other dogs to look at. When we decided on our dog, they provided great literature on training, transitioning, and general information.

I was very disappointed with the service here. I had been waiting for a puppy for a few months and I found the perfect pup here. I waited weeks for this little guy to be ready. I went to the shelter every single morning even called off work for a few days to be there on time when they opened. They said he would be ready by the 17th. The day of the 17th I went first thing in the morning and they had told me he wasn’t ready yet they said come back tomorrow. So that was the plan. Later that same day I was running home from the store and thought I’d check on him. I walked in and they had told me he was already adopted by someone already. I was shocked and so disappointed. I am so angry that this happened and it seemed like someone at the shelter was holding him for a friend. I am not returning here for later adoptions.

I drove 200 miles to adopt a dog only to be told that they could not release a dog to out of state foster care. Totally insane that I could not adopt an animal in need because I live 10 miles into Colorado.

The Humane Society always has super clean facilities and you can tell the staff and volunteers really care about what they do. The adoption process was super simple and the facility has a great display of all the dogs you can take home. We adopted our amazing puppy Watney here last week.

I am so glad that the animals of Albuquerque have a place like this. The place is clean, well organize and the personnel is professional, knowledgeable and caring. Adoptions are only $25 for any animal and $5 for a senior pet! They say they dont euthanize animals unless they are terminally ill or majorly aggressive, which makes me feel a little better. Always lots of good animals looking for a home. Worth a check the next time you decide to add a new member to your family.

We adopted our puppy just recently, as well as fostering kittens for them. Theyre very friendly, although not very well organized. Were so happy to have them here and to have all of the opportunities that weve had with them.

I adopted my Siberian Husky from this shelter. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I’m very happy with my experience here and would recommend this location to anyone looking to adopt a pet.

I got my dog Dixie a Pitbull mix and they handled all paperwork and appointments so professionally and kindly. They are very much appraised by me and my family for taking care of our new fur baby while she was there.

Wonderful place to work and an even better place to adopt your pets from. Theyre completely donation based and dont get any funding from the state. All of the money they get goes back in to taking care of the pets and helping to find them good homes.

They gave me a price for an standard transmission car when I asked for automatic. But when they gave me the price for the standard, it was 500 dollars more.

Honestly I didnt see a dog that would fit my needs . But they did have some beautiful German shepherds. I am mostly commenting on the kindness of the people at the desk. I think that should be such a great place to find your forever fur baby

Very clean. Easy adoption process. All pets neutered, wormed, microchips and shots for less than cost at a vet. They socialize the pets and will pay up to $500 if your pet should have any problems the 1st week. Got a wonderful kitten there.

Staff was friendly and helpful. I found a wonderful cat for my wife and me. I had to wait while the employee waited on another customer. I didnt mind because when it was my turn he took as much time as I needed to have to ask him questions and then get my new 🐈.The store was clean--including the dog cages. There was a full water bowl in each cage and each cat 🐈 room--one for full grown and one for kittens.My wife was very happy.

We tried to adopt a dog there. Thought that was the idea. They said we needed to bring our other dogs down for a meet and greet so we did. We when go there the lady insisted on taking the leashes and our dogs didn’t know her so they were hesitant. It was a completely stressful situation for our dogs and they complained that our dogs were too aggressive for the pit bull we wanted to adopt. We spoil our dogs rotten and they simply don’t want to adopt their animals out. Absolutely ridiculous experience. Never again.

They are very helpful and friendly and I left there with a new member of my family. I now have the cutest little bunny that is very happy at my house.

The only reason theyre getting 3 stars is because of the excellent staff. The reason theyre not getting 5 stars and will soon be dealing with me again is because they allowed a dog with a history of biting people to be adopted out without any warnings or information regarding his past. The only reason I found out was because he bit a visitor to our home and when animal control officers were involved they had records via his microchip ID regarding his history. When animal humane took him from the municipality to which he had been initially surrendered he was never to have been adopted out. Certainly not without warning. That fact is clearly stated in his release. So thank you, Animal Humane, for putting my family in a potential litigious situation due entirely to your negligence. Never again.

Adopted a dog from here without meeting it. They shared video and details over several calls and helped arrange pickup with a dog transporter. Very good people. Great dog.

This is where we got Rusty Tenorio, aka our new Red Heeler Puppy. Now for some training lessons.

The adoption center here is very clean, amd the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They had a few dogs, one older puppy (about 9 months) part of a litter of pups, and two young cats available for adoption. The litter of pups went super fast. They also have a selection of pet products to get you started with your new furry family member. They are also willing to check the availability of any animals in the AHA system, or even other facilities if they dont have quite who you are looking for.

I found a stray dog and brought him in the staff was very helpful and sweet to the poor doggy. I hope his owners find him

The shelter was an amazing place and you could tell the staff really cared for the animals. The only downfall was my family was told that residence from other cities were not allowed to adopt a pet as per their policy. What a bummer and a disappointment that a family from another city that could give an animal a loving home would be denied a family member for simply living in another area code.

I wasnt sure I was ready for a new pup...but when I saw Cher now Elie I couldnt say no. My other Rotti was laid to rest in Oct and I knew I wanted another. Just luck would have it Animal Humane had this litter of Rotti mix pups.She is such a beautiful addition to our family and we love her so very much. Shes a healthy, happy pup.The only thing I was just a little concerned with was how long it took for us to get through the adoption process.Otherwise....great place.

All my girls talked about was going to the adoption center. They wanted to donate food for the dogs. They werent allowed to interact with the animals. My oldest even said she pictured the center in a way different manner. She expected them to be friendlier. Pretty disappointed. We wont be coming back and wont recommend their services.

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and the adoption process was a breeze. They answered every question I had, and provided some sample food and tips to help her adjust.

In my language this means Peace which is to be in Balance& Harmony & this is why I got him...I have Balance issues (MS) and Anxiety & he helps with both things & so much more... THANK YOU Santafe Humane Society of NM for caring for him while I got there to adopt him.

We got my pup Benny from here and he is wonderful! More relevant to the actual facility, it was clean and the animals appeared taken care of and the people were very kind and helpful

I didnt get a receipt for taxes offered, for the requested blankets AMD flannels I dropped off (huge blankets btw!)...the guy was nice but the woman never said hello, never looked up from her phone and seemed to not care about her job whatsoever with Animals. As an empath, this woman doesnt fit. She was pure ice. I was never asked if I wanted to see any dogs, as I did show interest...the water bowls were dirty, the pets (dogs) looked MISERABLE, and extremely underweight was a gorgeous German Shepherd. From now on my money, time, AND contributions will go to the larger shelter on the Eastside, unless something is done over on the westside location. It was clean, TOO CLEAN*, animals, esp the dogs, needed exercise and attention. I was finally sent home with some volunteer paperwork, but no follow calls, when I offered to help.

My furbabies were here because a supposed to beafamily member took them in saying they were lost.The staff (lady)that released them to me wasvery fruendly tooktime out to answer every question.outgoing always happy release my pets to me. Thank you 🐶💖

Clean, well maintained small pet adoption center. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Very happy with our experience here.

Its ok, not the best. The food is sometimes ok and mostly eh. The staff are usually grumpy. But we just go to try and get a quick bite and get out of there.

Place was filthy. Smelled strongly of urine. Multiple surfaces were sticky. Whole encounter made me uncomfortable. Staff was polite and friendly, but perhaps more focus should go into the environment than their cell phones.

So sweet, knowledgeable and my kitten was obviously cared for while he was there!

They are a saving animals. Please adopt the right one for you.

The manager of this establishment is a horribly unprofessional woman with no concern for her customers or the well-being of animals. If I could give a negative star review based on the behavior she exhibited during our visit I would, but the worst I am allowed to say is one star.A tenant who was evicted from our complex left behind their cat and the complex manager refused to take responsibility for the cat and were threatening to leave it outside, so my husband and I agreed to take the cat to a shelter because it was the right thing to do. The manager behind the counter was so incredibly rude, refusing to answer any questions or provide information about where to take the cat, and only her co-worker was willing to assist us, but throughout the entire conversation the manager was in the background interrupting her coworker so she could threaten and insult my husband and I. From the very get-go she was extremely disrespectful and acted as if she had a chip on her shoulder, presumably because she didn’t want to deal with the intake process, and even as we were leaving she yelled after us that she was going to call the cops if we tried to leave the animal. I later found out that this location doesn’t do intakes, which is fine, that’s all she needed to say and it would have been fine, but instead she ridiculed and abused us. While her coworker was polite enough, this horrible woman should never be allowed to be the face of this business, and her blatant disrespect to customers in their time of need is nothing short of unacceptably deplorable. In the future, we will never go to the animal humane society based on the experience we’ve had, all because we were trying to do the right thing an help an animal. She should be ashamed of her behavior and I would be extremely careful about adopting from a person who clearly cares so little for the people or animals she is employed to serve.

Different rules for different people the girl in the front was rude and refused to help us when I asked for a manager she had to call another location and then we were told the manager was unavailable and no one was around to take her place in the mean time. We were refused a dog because her friend wanted it even though they never put a deposit.

Horrible I came in to adopt a dog and the guy who was there was so snobby and rude he was even mean to the animals!! I was gonna come back today to pick up the animal I wanted to adopt but I dont want to anymore because how rudely I was treated there no one even acknowledge us when I came in and every time I asked to see a animal he acted like we were causing him issues or were like fleas agitating him but isnt it their job to try to get these dogs adopted? yoy shouldnt be treating people who are interested in adopting animals this way, if this is the case the animals will never get adopted, horrible horrible expireance I never got treated so rudely anywhere else, go to the alburquerque shelters other then the humane society they treat you way better there
