Jim is great mechanic and an even greater guy! He always takes the time to explain what needs to be done and why. What makes him a great guy is that he also explains what doesnt need to be done and why. A Mechanic who turns down unnecessary work, now thats rare!

Truck was towed in Thursday night. Called owner early Friday morning explained issues.He told me he would do his best to get tuck in to look at. I understood since it was dropped off at night. Called owner back in the afternoon to check on the truck- alternator and battery died. He said parts were in stock and could complete work that day (Friday). Totally unexpected, most shops you are lucky if they get to it. Owner stated if parts are in stock he can get them doneThank You Personal Auto Service!

Very thankful Jim & Jim Jr were able to get me all taken care of, same day too. I was expecting it to take a few days with parts to be ordered. Alternator and battery. But these guys had them replaced within a few hours!

They told us that they would “try” to get to our car the day we dropped it off. You don’t tell a customer that. We dropped it off at 9 am. We called at 2:00 and they still had not gotten to it. They promised it would be ready by end of day. WE called one hour before closing and it wasn’t going to be ready due to parts. We were never notified of this until WE called them. When we called they were on the rude side. I will not use this service again. Not recommending.

Incredibly kind people and super efficient work! In and out in no time with ease! Found them on Groupon and so glad I did, will absolutely be returning for any future work I need on my car. I went there after getting a Groupon. They were very pleasant and he kept me apprised of the progress of the work on my car. Its almost 30 miles from my house but I would definitely go again.

Needed a tire repair done and it was close to closing time and they got me in right away. Friendly and quick service.

Jim was a very nice guy, as well as his son. They were very polite and Jim was very straightforward and honest with me. I had an oil change and a tire rotation done. He didnt try to upsell anything, he did not like to me or cheat me.

I had an appointment for a wheel alignment at 7:30 in the morning when I get there the man at the counter said I didnt have an appointment for 7:30 because nobody was there so I asked whens the earliest he can give me a wheel alignment and he said that he had me for drop off and if I drop it off hell have it done by today but he wouldnt give me a time he wasnt willing to work with me so I had to leave and go somewhere else very unprofessional.

Jim does a wonderful job is very knowledgeable and will steer you in the right direction when it comes to your auto needs. He is never suggested services that I do not need and will steer me clear from places that will give me dishonest service. My family and I take our cars there and will continue to do that. Poor quality of service! Prior to leaving, the owner said that if my car was still shaking that I needed new tires. My tires were brand new! Needless to say, I paid for an alignment but my vehicle says otherwise! Dont waste your money!

Fast service, friendly staff, and fresh coffee in the comfortable waiting area. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes for an oil change and tire rotation. They also offer deals on Groupon; I had a problem with the Groupon app, but they honored the deal price anyway. Definitely going back for my automotive needs!!!

Stay away from these people. I caught them in an outright lie. 3 years ago my car wouldnt crank and they said I needed new battery. So I took the car to the place where my battery was under warranty. That place showed me that my battery tested good. Called Personal back to ask why they thought my battery was bad. Owner got ugly with me. Turned out, problem was this car was new to me and I wasnt closing back hatch completely. Im running on the same battery 3 years later. Personal knew I didnt have a bad battery and wanted to sell me another.

My husband and I have been taking our cars to Jim since we got cars back in high school. He is always fair and has never charged us for anything we didnt need. If I could give Personal Auto Service an extra star I would.

Took the car in with a brake problem and Jim, the owner, said I needed new brake pads and calipers at the tune of $810. That price also included a tire rotation and oil change. He said my new brake pads, installed at a Ford dealer in Louisiana 3 days earlier were burned up (although I never smelled anything) and he said the calipers were locked onto the pads and could he not pry them loose. I questioned his diagnosis and took it to Earnest McCarty Ford in Alabaster. They assured me my brake pads were still like new and there was nothing wrong with the calipers or rotors. What a lying cheat Jim and Personal Auto Care are. Terrible to be lied to and then try to charge a fortune for the privilege. Disgusting!

I came here to get an oil change and was amazed with how well I was treated, the speed of the service, and the quality of the care they put into my car. Now I take both my cars there for all of my service needs. They also sell tires!

I would Not Recommend this place if you are just wanting a tire fixed. $35.00 for a valve stem replaced.
