The repairman was punctual and very good. My issue is with the Sears service company itself. I have had issues with my fridge leaking because of little holes or cracks in the tube that feeds the water dispenser and Ice maker. I told them the issue and they know the model. When the repairman came he said he would have to order the replacement tubing??? Why wouldn’t they have equipped him properly before coming out… it was a 3 week wait for the appointment as is! Luckily I happened to have some tubing on hand from previous leaks that we fixed ourselves and there was enough of it firm him to complete the job. If I hadn’t this job would not have been completed today. Ridiculous. Plus the charge was 400, even though when I was called I was told $162. Very unhappy about that. I would have been ok with the $162, but $400 is way out of line.

My 2 year old Kenmore Elite refrigerator stopped cooling and freezing. It takes over 4 days to get an appointment. They have a diagnostic feature, which you cannot use unless you pay their $49 / a month service contract. I told Sears that another technician said that it was an evaporator coil leak and asked how much that would cost to repair. Sears did not give an estimate. They also said that after they did an assessment, I would need to wait for the part to be ordered and once it came in, then they would schedule the follow up visit. That is at least 3 weeks without a refrigerator. Kenmore is no longer listed with Consumer Reports as a recommended buy. Furthermore, I believe Sears has changed their business model to building low quality products and charging $588 a year to support those low quality products.

We called sears to fix the door on the stoveThe phone call confirming that technician Is on the way was two hours before he came. The work was done quickly and professional. the issue was with price. When we called sears we were told that service call is $125 that would go toward the price of service. the technical told that his work cost $51 and charged us $$176 + tax. We asked why he added $51 if it should be part of $125. I believe there is miss leading by customer service or overcharge by technician.

The technician was not interested in fixing the machine. He first said there was NOTHING wrong with my washer. He VIDEOED the wash cycle and I thought that was very strange. I told him the LF error message. I had to chase them to order the parts. I had to wait weeks for the parts to come in. On the day of the install, he never showed up. I called back and asked what happened and they said he closed out the ticket and I have to call Sears again and start all over. I waited a month, a repair man came, billed sears for parts & labor that I never got and dosent have the decency to come back and fix it! IT IS FRAUD AND A BIG SCAM!

It took four visits and three months (after discounting one month for Covid 19 delays) to finally get my Stovetop Microwave working and even now I need to call in again because i see they broke another part and mounted it back incorrectly. The servicemen were professional but never had the parts and each time different parts had to be ordered and it took about a month for each set of parts to get shipped in to us. Its unlikely Ill be buying anything from them again because their service is not what it used to be (before their financial troubles) and was the main reason i bought from them in the first place.

The technicians - Rob and Doug - fully diagnosed the situation, clearly communicated the problems to me, and efficiently applied their expertise to their solution. If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. Im sorry I ever called them in the first place. My Kenmore dryer wasnt heating up so I called this place (closest Kenmore authorized tech). The first time they came, they told me it was a heat sensor that busted. So I handed over $500 to order a new heat sensor plus labor. The second time they came they installed the new heat sensor part they ordered and IT STILL DIDNT WORK. So they ordered ANOTHER one. They came over a THIRD time and not only did it NOT work but they also blew the power into that line and I had to call an electrician to restore power to that dryer line.I got the supervisors phone number from the tech the last time he was here. His name is SHANE MCGEE, and Ive tried calling him for the past 2 days to either (a) return my money or (b) come out with a different tech to FIX MY DRYER as I paid them for but he is cowardly not picking up his phone and therefore we are disputing the $500 charge IMMEDIATELY with my credit card company. Not only that, but I had to sit at home for 3 separate days waiting for them to NOT fix my dryer. This place is a racket. Save yourself time, energy and money and DO NOT CALL THEM FOR ANY APPLIANCE REPAIR!!!!

This is not a review of the technician and his work, because while the technician was prompt and delivered excellent repair service, THE COST FOR THIS WAS ASTRONOMICAL. We had our front load washers rubber gasket replaced and had to purchase the parts ($100) separately and then had to pay an extra $180 on top of that for the labor which took about 1 hour possibly 75 minutes. You could do this on your own but it requires taking the top of the washer off and then trying to secure the new gasket to the front with small wire. It seems like a kind of difficult thing to do, which is probably why it took the technician an hour to do it. But it definitely should not have cost $180 for an hour worth of work. We had to get it done and seems like they have you by the neck here, but that shouldnt be a reason to charge a ridiculous amount of money for the service.

Repairman did a very cursory inspection of fridge under the warranty (and failed to check the stove-top, for which we had paid an additional fee). He essentially only looked at item that he could upsell and nothing else. This was a total waste of our time and money. The first thing he did was to try to sell us an additional warranty at an outrageous price, and when we refused, it appeared that he did what he could to get out as quickly as possible.

July 2021Samsung gas clothes dryer stopped turning over. Edwin from VIM called me an hour or so after I called in a repair request to Sears Appliance Repair to tell me he was just finishing a job in the area and it was his last job of the day, he was just assigned my ticket from Sears, would I like him to come over and diagnose it right now instead of waiting two days for my appointment? Of course! He came, diagnosed and replaced a faulty thermocouple, took about an hour as the easy and more common casues were eliminated and he had to take the drum out. He explained the thermocouple was there to shut off operation if the appliance is overheating. He also checked the air flow from the outside of the house and cleaned lint from the external duct hood grate. He cancelled my appointment for me. Edwin has serviced my appliances before and he is knowledgeable, communicates if asked and focused on doing a good job. Perfect service.

Service is poor! Avoid! Do not pay for extended warranties. Save the money and put it toward the cost of replacing the appliance in the future. I purchased a warranty on our Kenmore refrigerator. A few months ago, which was five years after the purchase, the dispenser of water and ice was getting stuck when pressed, resulting in water or ice pouring onto -- and damaging -- our wood floor. Sears Appliance Repair ended up needing for me to take off of work five different days to be home to wait for a technician in order to fix this. And for all I know it may not even be fixed. The first time I took off of work was for the technician to come and incorrectly diagnose the problem, ordering a replacement part that would take a week to arrive and wouldnt ultimately fix the problem. The second time was for him to come to install the ordered part (an actuator). Sears called me on the day of that second scheduled visit to say that the technician did not come to work that day and wed have to reschedule. So the third day off from work was for the technician to actually show up this time. He installed the new actuator -- but this only fixed the problem for maybe a day or two. So I had to make yet more calls to them, and take a fourth day off of work. On this fourth day, Sears called to tell me that the technician called in to say he was not working that day, and that essentially I took the day of work for no reason, and with no compensation to me for the inconvenience, or even an explanation as to why the worker did not come to work. So I was stuck having to schedule a fifth day. On the fifth day, the technician did show up. His plan was to take out the brand new actuator and replace it with yet another brand new actuator -- the replacement part that did not fix the problem the last time. I insisted that he not waste his time and mine doing so, since the actuator he put in previously was brand new, and told him that hed better think of something else to replace or I would demand that Sears replace my now-defective appliance. He scoffed at that statement, saying that Searss policy is to make three attempts to repair the item before taking any other course of action. At this rate three attempts at repair would require about about 8 days off of work for me. It was then that it became clear to me that Sears Appliance Repair is a sham -- a way to steal money from people. The technician did think of another item to replace that might fix the problem: the spring inside the water/ice dispenser. Why he didnt think of this on Day 1, I dont know. It has now been four days since this repair -- done, as you will recall, on my fifth day home waiting for this shoddy service -- and so far the dispenser is working fine. But for this to drag on for over two months, five visits, countless calls to (and received from) Sears, and much aggravation, it would have been much more cost-effective for me to simply buy a replacement refrigerator, especially when you factor in the cost of the warranty and all of my time lost. Ironically, a different unit at Sears called me during these months of servicing misery to invite me to pay over $300 to extend my warranty for one year. Hah! What a scam. I will never again pay Sears for any extended warranties, now that I know how many scheduled visits it takes to get a repair completed.

Technician was punctual - arrived in 2 HR time period estimated. He was neat - as he removed the freezer components he stacked them neatly to the side and removed all packing and debris when he was done. He appeared thorough - he tested before he started dismantling, checked hoses and wires, installed and tested again. He was courteous - answered all questions, provided expectations over the next 24 hrs. He was efficient - finished installation and repair in less than 1 HR. He went the extra effort and cleaned the freezer compartment while the freezer door was off because it provided easy access to the harder to reach areas. The only complaint I have is that there is still a water leak into the ice bin so the cubes are all melted together. And I called back within 24 hrs for a follow up inspection.

With three small kids, this was not an option. I called the Philippines (which is where Sears National Call Center is located) three times, and each time, the supervisor had headset problems. Sears has refused to 1) assist me in with any attempt at an expedited repair (e.g. allowing another vendor access to proper service manuals or part numbers); 2) talk to any representative of Sears in the United States; and 3) provide a transcript of my calls with the Sears National Call Center). In sum, this is a horrible company, that does not make horrible products, but rather puts their brand on the products of others that fail, and then fails to support those products. I strongly urge others to avoid conducting any business with Sears, whatsoever.

First off, trying to get someone on the phone to set up the repair appointment takes much too long; then to complete the appointment set-up on top of the wait time for someone to come on the line has taken me, and did take, for this appointment, 55 minutes. That is unacceptable. The appointment was set for a Thursday. Morning hours. I got a call several days before the appointment date to tell me the repair man would be sick that Thursday and they had to reschedule that appointment. I wondered how, 3 business days prior to Thursday, they knew the repair man would be sick?( He did show up on the new rescheduled date and had not been hospitalized or been extremely ill.) This new HVAC system (I bought & had Sears install 3 of them @ $10,000.00 each) has caused me trouble within the first year. One unit stopped working twice already; the blower in that unit stopped working; the coils got too dirty and caused it to shut down. The serviceman who came to service the 3 units at the start of the A/C season, according to the tech who fixed the unit that stopped, advised me that the serviceman never cleaned the A/C coils. All in all, I could not be less happy with my entire experience with Sears. The words Customer Service do not seem to be in their vocabulary and what service they do provide is far from good. I am beyond disappointed. Buyer beware.

So I asked him is it bc he doesnt anything about dryer? He said he does but may be the next one doesnt. So when the next technician came I asked him if he could fix both washer or dryer he said yes. So I am not sure what is this story is? Why would the company policy would want to spend time and money to send out two technicians for service at the same time at the same address? If I am the owner, I wouldnt do that. Now is the technician side. About the maintenance for the dryer. I would like to make sure that all the lint that I have been using the dryer in the machine would been vacuumed away. The technician had to take out some of the parts inside and he did not has his own this and that. And he made his job all over my laundry room. The lint filed all over the place. He himself even sneezed. Luckily that I stayed way bc I have bad allergy. But anyway after he was done, it was a mess. I then had to read their 90 Day Guarantee from the receipt which states the work is guaranteed free of charge for 90 days, at which point she stated she would waive the fee. My appointment is this Friday, 6-23-17, so lets see how it goes, not expecting much. I bought all new appliances for laundry and kitchen when I purchased my home in 2013, and those will be the last purchases I make from Sears.

Not only was the freezer not repaired, but now the fridge section is broken as well. All my food spoiled and I had to throw it away. Due to the length we had to wait for the initial repair I had to buy a mini freezer. Complete waste of my day and now I have to lose another day for the repairman to come back and fix the entire fridge again! I will never buy another appliance from Sears again.

Bought this appliance and it has never worked - five years of hell and many appointments with ridiculous reasons why it doesnt work. Was told I would hear from them in 48 hours. That was 10/27 - still waiting - when do I get my range replaced? Its November 6th!

Unlike a previous experience, my recent attempt to have my refrigerator repaired was chaos. Crazy computer generated fantasy appointments, wrong problem diagnosis, purchase of an expensive and unneeded part, paying for labor never performed. Several calls to try to rectify the situation with no follow-up on their part. Awful!

I am very disappointed with my experience with this service. The technician never submitted my payment and now I am receiving collection notices from this company. It is unbelievable that I am going through such an ridiculous situation. When I called in to complain, they were unresponsive and they did not seem fazed as if this happens all of the time.

Horrible. They said the insulation stripping on the dishwasher door and other items are not covered in the appliance warranty. I will not buy a warranty from them again. No wonder they are going out of business
