This is a great shop. They professionally located the problem that my SUV was having and looked over the rest of my drive train for any other problems. Explained to me what needed to be done. As well as the levels of importance and severity of the issues. Then they provided very reasonable estimates. I cant say enough good about them. Theyll be getting all my business.

Called to get my truck fixed, after calling around, an getting quotes, on cost an to find out when, my truck could get into see a mechanic, an was told over a week to see some one, with a one hour quoted minumum. Clifford, said he had done, this repair for 40 years. An had solution he would warranty. An would be finished in 24 hours. 22 hours later Cliff called to say my Truck was finished! Its running like a top. Could not be happier, so Thank you so very much guys. Would recommend to my friends.

Called and picked their brain. The guy I talked to walked me through an electrical problem I was having on my ‘78 K20 Chevy. I’ve been battling this problem for 2 weeks. Figured it out over the phone in less than 5mins! Thanks again.

This is definitely not a shop I would recommend. If you can get him to work, the quality of it seems decent. The problem is that there is no consistency. He will give you a really good quote and weeks later there are no signs that the work is even on the schedule anytime soon. If you have him do work for you, I STRONGLY recommend getting him to give you the quote in writing and a time limit for work completion. Caveat emptor!

Clifford Barney provided a reasonable quote to to perform several repairs on my truck. These repairs were done quickly and competently. I have since been back for other repairs that were completed with the same results. I would highly recommend Barneys to anyone looking to have their vehicle expertly repaired.

Deversified tire quoted me $260 for some front end work labor and they were booked out for about a week and Barney charged me $240 and got it done the same day I called for a quote. I give 4 stars because it could be more organized, like I was handed the wrong keys the first time. Overall great experience got everything thing done quickly and price was affordable for the work I got done.

I bought a vehicle on impulse and after the purchase I was sure that I had bought a lemon that I would be stuck with. I called Barney and brought it in and he gave it a thorough look and assured me the car was a good safe purchase. He advised of the things to keep an eye on and when those things need fixing I will definitely trust Barney with my vehicle.

I have had 2 motors 1 in wifes van and 1 in my truck replacesby cliffords crew and have nothing but praise for them and their work, got a great deal when having motors replaced and no issues what so ever. I have since gone to Clifford to have my trucks water pump replaced and will be taking my wifes suburban in to have the oil pressure sensor replaced. I would recomend Clifford and his crew to anyone!

I called Barneys last week and I got a quote that beat everybodys price by a little over $100.00 ,I took it in on Tuesday and got it back the same day .... My car is working great ! I will be back if anything else goes wrong with my Subaru , I was hoping to find a good mechanic that is highly competitive and I did ! Thanks guys!

It took them three weeks to do work that would have taken three days anywhere else. During those three weeks Clifford, the owner, couldnt tell me what work had actually been done on my truck, what exactly was wrong with it, or how much the repair was going to cost. No information whatsoever until everything was finished and I got a big fat bill. I wont be going back.

I usually dont do reviews, but after seeing the previous scathing one I felt I must respond--because if I had read it prior to my repair I would not have done business with Barneys and do not believe that would have been fair. Dont know why the previous reviewer had such trouble, but my experience was great. Car broke down at the cabin near Talkeetna, and had to be towed all the way to Wasilla on a Saturday eve. (We live in Anchorage.) Barney accepted it and and and by Monday eve had completed major repair at reasonable price.

This was the worst mechanic experience Ive ever had. I am very patient, and very forgiving of delay. I even try not to call and ask about my car when its in the shop, because I just dont want to be a pest.But after my car had been in the shop for a month, and we had not received any word on progress for 2 weeks, I finally called to inquire. My calls were not returned. Eventually I was told that Barney was out of town, and his family was taking care of the shop in his absence. My car was in the shop for over 6 weeks in total - the parts needed for repair arrived during week 2.When I got it back, the car was missing 9 out of 12 screws which had, previously, held the splash shield on the underside of the engine compartment. I eventually bought OEM replacements from the dealership, out of my pocket.We are also very careful to not leave valuable things in our cars when we take them to the shop - not because were un-trusting, but rather to avoid even the temptation for dishonesty. But this time, we neglected to remove a small electronic device, issued and owned by our auto insurance company, and used to monitor our driving patterns, to lower our monthly premiums. This device was installed in the computer port of the car. When we got the car back, we didnt even think to check this, just as we hadnt thought to remove it when we dropped the car off. But when we changed insurance companies a month later, the device was nowhere to be found. I called to ask if, perhaps, this device may be sitting around the shop somewhere. Barney initially offered to look around for it, but, again, I heard nothing back from him. So, after about a week, I asked again. He denied that it had been removed by them, and said, even if it had, it would have surely been thrown away by then. I really just wanted to feel like he had made a good faith effort to locate the device. Although I didnt expect it, I thought it wouldve been a nice gesture for him to offer to split the fee for the loss of the device. If he had offered, I might have even declined, out of appreciation for an honest gesture. But I didnt get the chance. Instead, he was dismissive and rude.Overall, my initial impression of the shop was hopeful. Barney seemed friendly enough, and adequately knowledgeable. But as time progressed, my impression of him, and his business practices, became worse and worse. By the end of our interaction, I found myself doubting the quality of the work that had been done, just by virtue of the shadiness of the whole ordeal. This is especially disappointing, as we went to this shop at the recommendation of a friend.I like to think the best of every person, and so, when I say that I hope your experience might be different from ours, it is because I honestly hope that Barney is capable of higher quality service than what I received. But I would never go back, and I would never recommend this shop to anyone that I care about. I am willing to pay a good mechanic good money to do good work. The only part of this experience that was good was my money; it was an expensive mistake.

My husband had his truck towed into Barneys for a transfer case repair. We were very prepared for the truck to be there for at least a week. Barney worked through the night to have my husbands truck back to him by 9:00 the next morning. We have nothing but good things to say!!!

Asked about having oil pressure tested on an uninsured truck that was at risk to drive. They said to bring it in and when I did they acted put out and didnt offer to help. Put my truck at risk driving it there .

Installed a new clutch on my Subaru. But he left the tubes to the heads disconnected & left it leaking oil. Didnt adjust the starter after installing new clutch. He also didnt adjust the clutch after installing the new one. So, all in all, not impressed.

Took my chevy pickup in to have the intake changed put an old one on and stole a CD out of my deck will not be going back or recommending them to anyone not worthy of a star as they have sticky fingers...not even worth the one star i gave them...
