I was out of town on business when our refrigerator quit cooling. My wife called Sears expecting professional service. The technician came spent an hour and a half trying to diagnose it (without proper test equipment). Finally told her that is was probably the main board. He had to order it; came back a week later and replaced the board. Charged my wife over $500.00. Told her it may take 24 hrs for the refrigerator to cool back down and that if it didnt, then the compressor would have to be replaced costing approx. another $800.00. The next day it still was not working. I was still out of town; so told my wife to call someone else. Another company came, and (not knowing we had someone else there that replaced the boards) within ten minutes told her the compressor had gone out. Then after looking at the paperwork, told her that the compressor was still under factory warranty and would not cost us anything for repairs. Last time I will ever call Sears for a repair.

A. The simple part needed to repair my dryer cost more than half the cost of a whole new dryer. That is ridiculous! The dryer is 6 years old. I am trying to repair rather than replace as much as possible, to keep appliances out of our landfills. Sears should also be supporting this goal.B. The first visit took a week to schedule. The first part ordered turned out to be the wrong one, and another had to be ordered. Ultimately, it took over three weeks to repair my dryer. Again, ridiculous.C. The person who worked on my dryer was consistently courteous. He went out of his way to check in with me to find out if the parts had arrived, and committed himself to coming to fix it as soon as possible. I appreciate this.D. Altogether, if I were just a tiny bit more cynical, I would wonder if Sears wants to make repairs less appealing to consumers so that we will just give up and purchase new appliances. We need as a whole society to make things last longer, rather than replacing things. Maybe its not a good idea to get repairs done by the same company that sells the new products.

Sears repair service was great. One week ago.But the survey isnt user friendly. Most are check to boxes and rate how satisfiedwith numbers: 1 being poor and 10 being very satisfied. I was going to pass this up but decided maybe youd change your survey???

There should be a spot for no stars. The complete run around and time waster is all we got. Dont purchase their Master Protection. It is a complete SCAM. Google it and read others reviews, frustrations etc., even from sears employees. They are trained to keep you on hold and pass you off to someone else. Repair or replace, such a joke. The sears employees get paid to make unhappy customers, wonder why they are closing stores and selling off properties read all the comments from prior employees who couldnt stand lying anymore! We will make sure to tell everyone know of our experience, so they wont get suckered!

The only reason received a 4 instead of a 5 is we really find it inconvenient to not know whens the repair personas coming besides sometime between 8 am and 5 pm. It holds up our entire day vs making a scheduled time.

My appliance was not repaired, I ended up cancelling all my maint agreements with Sears and buying a new washer and dryer from Lowes. I will never buy another appliance from Sears and never another Maint agreement. Sears expected me to wait for over a month for parts and repairs to a washing machine and sent the wrong parts 3 times, and the contractor they ordered was a no show no call twice. I can not go without a washing machine for a month and due to the incompetence from the parts/trouble shooting of Sears I do not know how much longer they would have had me wait until it could be fixed.

Our experience has been HORRIBLE for 5 YEARS ! Your extended plans are useless ! NO TECHS> and or NO PARTS> Wait time is WEEKS or MONTHS or NEVER !
