The manager was very accommodating a found time within the hour to fix our brakes. They did a great job for a reasonable price. Manager even showed me the worn out parts and compared to new brake pads so I could see for myself how worn they were. All around good experience.

This place is awesome... I have had them work on my vehicle 3 separate times for different issues and was pleasantly surprised with the price, attention to detail, quality of work and the amount time to complete each job. They are honest and upfront with front with you from start to finish. For a shop that is as busy as they are they make incredible time. I just had my jeep ball joints and a full front brake job done and it was completed in one day and only 2 business days after I got the quote from Thomas. Highly recommend them as my #1 repair shop in the Vancouver area.

Thomas, the owner, was cool. On the phone, he guaranteed me it would be done the day I brought it in, promising to personally stay after hours to make sure of it. When I brought it in, he was a laid back dude capable of having a normal conversation alongside the issues with my truck. When he called to tell me what he found after taking it apart, he didnt feed me a load of BS about what was wrong, or adding more and more to the list just to boost the bill. He explained in detail what was wrong, and what he had to do, then gave me options on how to get it done. When I came to pick it up, he ran a diagnostic to find any other issues, just because. Pricewise, Id say hes fair enough. I didnt pay too much, and the service was well worth it.EDIT: since this review, Ive had extensive work done here on the same rig. Highly impressed! Hes always cool, hes always fair, and always honest. I recently moved out of state. If I could have brought him with us, I would have!

My 2001 dodge 2500 needed new clutch so I called and got the shop owner on the phone. He spent a good half hour talking clutches with me.Dropped my rig off 8am and picked it up 7:30 pm. They were cars still up on the lifts and wrenches still turning. These guys are hard workers that put in long days. My clutch weighs over 130lbs. The owner works right along side his employees. Before I left with my rig the owner spent more time talking about my truck. How install went , break in period and other concerns I may have down the road with that year dodge. Some very good info.This guy is very passionate about his work ,very personable to talk to, very likable. The price for install really quite reasonable. The truck was grabby and jumpy at first as I pulled out into traffic, but by the time I got home much better as break in started. Had south bend organic double disc clutch put in so I was expecting the initial grabby starts.Very happy with work and whole experience.Clutch doctor was recommended to me by other mechanics from large towing outfit.I will be back for brake job later on. I would definitely recommend to others .

My name is Andrew I was just at Clutch Doctors getting my brakes looked at. They told me exactly what was wrong and actually brought me out in the shop and showed me. They discussed with me what needed to be done and gave me a very reasonable price exactly as estimated. Walt the owner and I sat down and talked the whole time I was there it made the wait go by very fast and I enjoyed getting to know him and appreciate his business and his employees who were very respectful and great to talk with. They went out of there way to make sure the job was done right and didnt cut any corners. There is just to much to say about this great company. You will have to experience it yourselves. Havent dropped my car off yet but I called after hours after chugging home looking for a quote and the Front desk lady still answered the phone and told me Thomas would call me when he was done with the job or the next day and I assured her it wasnt a big deal if they gave me a ring next day as i thought i was just leaving a voicemail when i called... Sure enough Thomas called me with an honest and straightforward quote on a new clutch job 3hrs after they are closed.. These people care about their customers its very clear as this is not the kind of customer service you will usually get with an auto repair shop these days!

On the recommendation of a friend, I called Clutch Doctors and they were great! Thomas, the owner is so patient and kind to explain everything and let you know just why things need repaired or replaced. He kept the broken/worn parts from our truck to show us what he replaced & explained how to make the clutch last as long as possible. He gets my stamp of approval and I will recommend him.

My husband has taken all of our cars here for years now. Thomas has always been honest and helpful every time we go in. Always prioritizing what needed attention first and what could wait. It has been a great feeling being able to bring all of our families cars here and being able to recommend friends in and trust that the job is going to get done right and they are always happy when its done. Without a doubt, I would return to Vancouver Clutch and Brake Doctors for future service. At 12:30 this afternoon, I called them up and explained my transmission symptoms and asked if I needed an appointment to have it looked at, they said no need, bring it by and will take a look. I arrived around 1:45, and within a minute my truck was up on the rack. Sure enough, the slave cylinder was leaking and needed to be replaced. So I figured I might as well have them replace the clutch too, considering it had been over 8 years ago by a different shop. I asked if they needed to keep it over night or if I should bring it by in the morning, and again they said nope will have it finished before 5. At 4:15, I was rolling out in my 92 Ford Ranger with a new clutch and slave cylinder. As far as my experience goes, it was more than I could have imagined from an auto service shop. The owner sat and had conversation with me the entire time, sharing all kinds of stories from the many different businesses he has owned over the years to the places he has traveled to. Furthermore, I got to talk about local craft-beer and pizza joints with one of the service techs and then shared Army stories with the other service tech who was a parachute rigger stationed at Ft. Bragg during the late 70s early 80s. They even got hot on the phone with the part-house that sold them a clutch-kit with the wrong parts packaged within the correctly labeled box. Apparently, somewhere along the way it was swapped with a lesser foreign part; however they were sharp enough to catch it before putting it in. Even with the prolonged wait for the right clutch-kit, they still managed to have it finished before 5 as promised. Plus, I was even allowed to hang out in the garage and watch as they pointed out the procedures of the whole process, kind of neat.

Thomas over at Clutch Doctors on 4th plain was very rude when I mistakingly went into his business instead of precision tune Auto Care which is directly next door. He told me in a rude tone that I had the wrong business but would figure it out and when I asked if the other business was nearby he told me to go stand in the parking lot and stare at the 90ft sign to help me get to where I needed to go. I made the mistake because its all apart of the same Auto Care complex which I havent been to before and while I can see how it would be frustrating to have patrons for another business enter yours he needs to realize that a great way to get future business for potential clutch work would be to politely let people know that its a common mistake (the Auto Care folks even remarked that its a common mistake and that Thomas doesnt like when people mix up their businesses) and that they want the business next door. Everyone that knows me knows that I rarely write negative reviews but that customer service is just uncalled for and needs to be highlighted. Theyve definitely lost any future clutch repair business from me because of Thomass rude behavior.

I have had nothing but good experiences with these guys!! Theyre really nice, so Im never intimidated about calling, going in, or asking questions. They honestly explain what they can and cannot do, what is and is not necessary, what your options are, and what they would recommend. They dont look down on me for being a woman with car questions, either; instead, they explain things to me so I can better understand how to take care of my car. They work quickly and at a reasonable price - and if it ever takes more than a couple days to get my car fixed, its because theyre booked solid because theyre that great. Ive tried out two or three other mechanics, but they were really intimidating, impatient, sometimes overpriced, and sometimes condescending. Literally the only complaint I have is the curbs in the parking lot, which I dont think is even their responsibility lol.

I would just say the owner was very nice but I took my truck in to get an evaluation on my clutch they said master cylendar so they fixed it and a few other little things anyways I took home couple days later my clutch wont go into reverse or 1st gear without shutting off my truck and then putting into gear I called to find out if they can fix it he said well its nothing we did probably needs a whole new clutch400 dollars later and now they want me to pay for whole new clutch hell no they should have told me when I paid them to check it out the first time I dont recommend the guy who worked on it now if the owner would have fixed it it probably would be fixed right.....well since you wanna reply to my review Ill say this sorry not 400 but 348.00 close enough yo ,400 thats what I believe I paid and correction I had called you four days after and told you clutch still wasnt working properly heres the thing your the professional right I told you that my dad told me the clutch was put in a few years ago with not many miles on it but I also told you know couldnt be sure so as a professional you were supposed to look at the whole clutch and then tell me whats wrong u should have been able to tell me if it was looking new the other problem I had was you didnt test drive it at all you drove from one side of the building to the front so you cant tell me it worked after you repaired and then when I called to tell you what it was still doing four days later your told me that it more than likely needs a whole new clutch which isnt under my warranty so dont tell me that I can b in it in got you to tell me sorry you need a whole new clutchand second Im not going to bring it somewhere where it didnt get fixed the first time so just saying since you want to answer my review I didnt have a problem with you I had a problem with the way you guys handled it and thats it so if you cant handle what my review says then Im sorry

What a positive experience. Walt was amazing and took great care of us. My sons clutch was in bad shape. I called to schedule an appointment and they couldnt get me in until Monday of the following week; however, he knew it was important to get it in ASAP. He called the very next morning and got it in. They worked hard and stayed late in order to have it back to us the same day. Great service, welcoming environment and all around great group of guys. Will definitely make this our go to place for all car work in the future.

These guys do good work. Theyre friendly and honest and have great prices. Customer satisfaction is really important to them. They dont only do clutch work. I had them work on my clutch hydrolic system. Replace door hinges, fix a window motor and do the e-brake. And when i have another problem with my truck its going to be them that I call.

This place is GOLD. Ive been taking my 99 Passport to Thomas for several years and he keeps it going. Thomas knows everything about cars, and he and his wife Lisa are SUPER people. My wife showed up to get our brakes inspected we thought that we might have to schedule an appointment to come back later and have things taken care of but the owner was amazing and just did all the work that needed to be done on the spot my wife was in and out of there in no time which is great because we cant be without our van as we have 4 children. My family has been coming here for years, always great service and very fair prices. They are a customer first business and stand by their work. SCAM! Come here at your own risk. Parts near by and related to the repair have a habit of magically being damaged and of course theses scammers claim its 100% impossible that they could have done it. But lucky for me they were willing to fix it for a discount... (which when I shopped around was the same price/higher than what other shops would charge for the same job.) All around shady and dishonest I wouldnt bring my bicycle here for repair let alone another car.

A shop that you can trust. Last summer I was visiting Wyoming, Washington and Oregon from Montreal, canada and we suddently had a noise from one of the wheels. I could not see anything wrong. The GM and Chevrolet dealers in Vancouver, WA would not even have a look at the vehicle (a Chevrolet Express 1500). Finally, I found a service shop called Clutch and brake doctors. I explained my problem and Thomas, the manager (and owner I believe) said his mechanic would have a look at it as soon as he was finished with the car he was working on. After removing a tire the mechanic found a small rock wedged between the brake disk and the shield. Despite having spent more than half an hour on my truck, Thomas refused that I pay anything even if his mechanic had worked at least half an hour. it is always comforting to meet people that will help you when you are in trouble and are not looking to profit from it. Had an emergency repair while travelling, my brake caliper froze and was overheating the rotor and wheel. Thomas and crew gave me a quick accurate estimate over the phone, and took my vehicle and repaired in under an hour.
