Id like to give a shout out to John and his tech who fit me in last minute when I needed help with my dead battery! No body had time for me. I really appreciate that they went the extra mile for me when they could have said no like so many others. They Changed my brake light and my battery and got me back on the road! We have been going to Gaynor’s for years now. The downtown location has helped us on several occasions and the staff are always friendly and helpful. We have never had a bad experience. This visit was primarily to address an issue with my A/C going in and out. They were able to fit us in before a road trip and had the issue identified and addressed in addition to my regular service before the end of the day. We will gladly continue to take our cars to this location.

I brought my new used vehicle to Gaynors for a complete vehicle inspection to ensure everything was in good condition after purchase. I was very impressed how quickly they were able to get me in to do the inspection and how fast the appointment was. I also appreciated the thorough report I was given after and attention to detail they gave. The manager and the techs/servicers were all very friendly and respectful. I highly recommend this place and will be back!

I always go to Gaynor’s Auto for my car even after I moved 15 miles away.. They’re reasonably priced and don’t charge up for services I don’t need. My car is 10 years old and has about a 100,000 miles and it still runs perfectly.

Gaynor’s Automotive did a great job fixing my Audi. They put a new water pump and bolt in. I appreciate the hard work they put in to get my car running. John especially worked hard to get my car in, and gave me lots of information, he had great communication with me about what was wrong with my car. I will be coming back for all my car needs!! I brought my car to Gaynors on recommendations from others. First of all I had a 8 Am appointment on a Tuesday and didnt get my car back until the next day as they didnt even have time to get to it. They made the first repair I needed and then there is something else I need to fix which is going to cost me 1400. The funny thing is, being a woman you dont know how much stuff like engine repairs cost. After speaking with my family about it my Dad called and the price of what needed to be repaired is half of what he quoted me. I feel like they are trying to take advantage of me being a woman and not knowing about engine repairs. This is a classic case of a business like this taking advantage of women and not really knowing about mechanical repairs. Also the front office guy John in the downtown location seems like he just cant be bothered and was quite rude. Maybe other locations are good , but avoid the downtown one and always bring a man with you so you dont get ripped off.

Went here because my cars transmission wasnt working. Got quoted for over $1200 (an amount I very likely couldnt pay) because they had to ship in a part. Just as I was beginning to worry I got a call from them saying they found that the replacement would be covered by my warranty and if I sent my car to the dealer I could get it done for free. Absolutely couldve charged me and I never wouldve known and theyd be 1k richer, but because these are good people they let me know and got a customer for life.Went back a few months later because my AC wasnt working, and they got it done in less than a day. Great quality work, great quality people, definitely only going here for my auto needs.

Really helped me out after my vehicle overheated on the highway, rolled in to the shop on my last leg with smoke billowing from the radiator. These guys got me fixed up and out of there in 20 mins. Had a new radiator cap delivered in a rush. Really appreciated. Didn’t even charge for labor.

I called was set up with a date & time.I arrived about 10mins. late, agreed the timing. for the oil change was about1 hour. Then John suggested another service pricing about the same which I agreed to. The entire service was accomplished within 1-1/2 hrs. Meanwhile I enjoyed a cup of coffee, which John had to make using a coffee pot as I am unfamiliar with the new machine. It was my 2nd visit to Gaynors downtown shop. I picked Gaynors from the AAA list.

I got into a minor accident right outside of Gaynors, the police officer had us park our vehicles in Gaynors parking lot. My front fender was in rough condition and even though it was the end of the workday, the manager John helped zip tie my fender on so I could get the car home. He was incredibly kind and compassionate. This shop has a customer for life now, thank you john.

We have been to this Gaynors only a couple of times, but both visits were fantastic. John and his crew are extremely polite and always show kindness and care not only with customer service, but with how they help find the problems with peoples vehicles. We recently brought in our car about week ago to get it checked on because of going on a road trip to California and they found some problems and got right to it. This is a business we trust and not your typical mechanic garage where they mess with something little and then have to come back again. I am from out of state and am working in the Washington area. I had an oil leak that required immediate attention. I called Gaynors Monday morning. They got me in right away for diagnosis, and my truck was repaired that afternoon. They did a great job. I would recommend these guys to anyone. My first time using Gaynors was to replace brakes on my Jeep Liberty. I was given an accurate quote so I knew exactly what to expect. They quoted me worst case scenario and said if they didn’t need to replace certain parts, they adjust the quote and save me some money. I really appreciated the honest work and not scamming to get a few extra dollars. I know nothing about cars so I really need to trust what my mechanic says. This place was trustworthy, timely, affordable, and professional. Greg even washed my Jeep and polished it when it was done. It looked better than when I bought it! I would highly recommend!

I already shared this on the Gaynors website for Downtown and, bottom line, the service was excellent, the people were friendly, and they did a great job for a reasonable price, and fix several things that were wrong with my BMW Or that needed attention. I’m a happy customer.

John and his team were great, they kept me up to date on the cost and timeline for each service they provided.

We had radiator flush along with oil change. The reason for 3 star rating was the coolant overflow container was virtually dry and not up to the manufacturer’s recommendation line. Attention to details is important for repeat business

We had taken our truck in to have the motor replaced. The truck itself mechanically was a complete mess, but the guys/John made this the best experience possible! They wanted to put in a new motor instead of fix the one in the truck. $9500.00 . I took it elsewhere. Never again. Total rip off. Just parts changers. I had it fixed elsewhere and it runs great. High miles or not it did not need a new motor or a head gasket.

Brought my Forester in cause it stalled out on an on-ramp. Thought it was an alternator issue. Turned out to be worse. Timing belt broke. They were upfront with what needed to be done, gave an estimate, and all the while being patient with me, this being my first real car issue and having to gather the money to fix it. They called part of the way through the repairs, and told us it wouldnt be cost effective to continue the repairs, told us why, and where great, given the circumstances. I think Ive found a shop worth my loyalty.

Had my brakes checked. Rear were under spec as suspected and they were able to do them right away. Surprise was the fronts still had plenty left. Technician worked through lunch to lessen my wait time. Even got a discount that I didnt know was available.

As a woman who is not an auto expert, its really important to me to find mechanics who are honest and transparent. Gaynors delivered. Staff was fantastically friendly and conscientious. John fully explained the specific issues that were found, how they affected the cars safety and performance, and how they could be fixed. He answered any questions I had in laymans terms. Prices were very reasonable for the work that was done and I did not feel at all pressured to say yes to any service.I cant finish this review without mentioning just how thankful I am that Gaynors is currently offering free pickup/dropoff and disinfection services during the COVID-19 quarantine. Being able to stay safe at home and not have to stress about going outside was a huge relief.Gaynors is my go-to mechanic team from now on and will be the first place I recommend to others. Ive been going to Gaynors for over 15 years. Hazel Dell & Downtown. I trust them with my vehicle and they tell me honestly what needs fixing or dont spend the money. They inspected an old truck I have & they took pictures of the issues and sent me a detailed email of everything. I was amazed at getting pictures of the problems !!!!! Who does that??? Remember you get what you pay for!!! I will always go to Gaynors !! !

They aren’t pushy. They told me what they recommended I fix and was was essential to keep the car running. It’s also really clean looking place.

Gaynors takes the stress out of vehicle repairs. Their prices are reasonable, their work quality is top grade, communication skills and customer service, especially the Service Manager John Birchem, are excellent. The only surprise was that the work was completed earlier than scheduled. Obviously, we highly recommend Gaynors Downtown.

Oil change was done on time and done well

Busy mechanic shop is usually a good mechanic shop but John squeeze me in for an oil change they treated me great I got in and out on time I will definitely use them again. I’m from out of state and it’s hard to find good mechanics when you just have to take a chance on whatever you can fine But I was very happy with the shop!

I took my Volvo into Gaynors today and they did a fantastic job. They were very helpful and fixed my car pretty quickly. The prices were fair and the staff was friendly. I will definitely be back if the car needs more work. Thank you!

And got me back on the road by the end of the day.Experienced and professional. I was very impressed by this shop and would highly recommend it to others.

I took my car to Gaynors for the first time a friend recommended them to me I needed a catalytic converter they were very professional and did a great job I got my car back in one day John was very helpful and curtiuos and they have my business for life thank you guys

They’ll shoot it to you straight and get it fixed. They can’t magically fix everything for pennies on the dollar, but they did go out of their way to shave off a few bucks to help us afford all the unexpected issues we had. Both me and my wife’s cars needed work done the same day to get us to school and work and they made it happen quick, and we have always had a good experience for little things like oil changes. The crew at Gaynor’s downtown is great! Recently had a major maintenance service done on our Honda Pilot. They showed me the Honda brand fluids they would be using for the transmission and rear differential service when I dropped the car off. Got the work done same-day at a much more affordable price than the dealer.

Came here for the first time for a routine oil change and for new air filters. Drop off was quick and easy, but pickup was about 45 minutes later than was expected (worked out for me). I did think the filters were a bit pricey, but otherwise satisfied.

They go over everything and check everything and are reasonably priced and much better than the dealer charges. Brian was terrific but has moved to another Gaynors shop but now John is out front and is great to work with. They have kept my 2002 Honda Civic running smoothly!

They have serviced and repaired our company cars since we began here in Vancouver over 6 years ago. It has always been worry free and timely.

This is hands down the best shop in the whole city of Vancouver. I have taken my last 2 vehicles to them. The first was a Volvo XC90 and after having it in 4 other shops I finally was able to get it diagnosed. This time without hesitation I took my Nissan to them. Having just moved I did not realize that the job on the new car would be more than I could afford but after looking over my car for a few hours they had it diagnosed and could have gotten parts and back to me by the end of the day. If I could rate more stars I absolutely would. Highly recommend Jeremy and his guys to anyone!

I was referred to Gaynor’s Automotive after a failed emissions test. And let me say, I feel extremely fortunate that of all my options in approved emission specialists, Gaynor’s was the shop used. They were very upfront and honest throughout the whole process; not only with the small repairs needed, but with the emissions testing in general. After an very fair price for the labor and repairs, they even offered to have the vehicle reran through their diagnostics to determine my likelihood of passing my next emission test after a few days of driving, free of charge. Being new to the state-required emission testing process, Gaynor’s was beyond helpful and appreciated! Whether it is for a failed emission testing result, or any general repair, I hands-down, recommend this shop. Don’t bother going anywhere else!

We went in there for the first time and I expressly stayed my fears against dishonest mechanics. After diagnostics they tried to tell us that the car was u safe to drive and it would cost $1700 to fix. Replacing spark plugs, electrical wires, flushing something, and that the back brakes were bad and the calipers and possibly rotors needed replaced.When my partner got the diagnostics report back, there were no RED marks, only yellow RECOMMENDATIONS. We knew the rear axle had a crack which caused brake fluid to leak. We’ve been on top of that for a few years now. But the brake pads were at 4mm, the rotors were fine. Sure, now we know we need to replace the brake pads. But to try to tell us you want us to pay $1700 because it’s “not safe to drive off the lot”. That is gouging behavior and I won’t stand for it. Especially since we told you when we got there that we already knew about the back brakes.We took the car home, replaced the spark plugs ourselves, and in the meantime figured out that what the actual problem for our initial visit was that the AC motor went out. If Gaynors had actually discovered that, I’m sure the costs would have gone through the roof.
