Our AC unit was not communicating with the thermostat… although everything looked charged. The AM/PM Heating and Cooling Company sent us a gentleman who had (in his own words) 32 years of experience but forgot some things. After checking the A/C connections he kept calling and spent most of the time on the phone consulting with someone. Eventually, he couldn’t fix it and after four hours he stated he’ll come the next day. The following day, once he and someone else on the other line figured out the what and how to fix it, although my husband was in the house, he omitted to give us the cost before he concluded the job. And when he finished, he quoted us for the repair: $860 plus tax.I was concerned that he (or his company) charged $95 for each of the 4 hours when he was on the phone. On his recommendation, I called the company’s office and spoke with Marlene. Instead of trying to provide an itemized information about the charges that I asked for, she raised her voice and was unpleasantly defensive, accusing us that we don’t want to pay for the service. I informed her that our intention never was not to pay for our bill. I just wanted more details instead of giving me their jargon, package price, and yelling.After that, her daughter, Annette, got on the line and while raising her voice as well, she followed her mother’s lead. She told me that her mom was doing me a favor to even speak with me! Never mind that my husband and I were their customers now and previously. Eventually, she stated that her mother had to go. And by the way, to my surprise, Annette also informed me that the bill is not what the repairman stated. That it actually was $1,147.50 plus tax. When I asked for the repair details in writing, she suggested that we could have the work reversed, the A/C won’t work, and we’d pay only for the labor. I called my husband to let him know. In the meantime, the repairman assumed we don’t want to pay and for the repair and disconnected the A/C.Finally, after calling back and forth with the repairman, and Annette, he connected the A/C again, and Annette settled this unpleasant situation by listing a few items on the bill and 10% senior discount. We paid $997 and hope we’ll never need to call this unprofessional business again.

Excellent ServiceI have an AMANA PTAC unit that started making loud noises. The unit is relatively new and luckily still had some warranty left on it. I called AMANA directly and was referred to AM/PM Heating and Cooling. I was told they are one of the preferred servicers of AMANA PTAC’s in my area. I am so glad I called them. Annette one of the installation coordinators for AM/PM took my call and was very knowledgeable. She was so friendly and gave me ideas and suggestions of what the problem could be. She took my PTAC information and said they in fact had all the replacement parts in stock. She scheduled Richard to come out to my home the very next day. My hat goes off to Richard. He went above and beyond service. He came out and diagnosed the problem right away. Keep in mind this was late in the afternoon and getting close to quitting time. He said he had to run back to the shop and get more parts but he would be back. He could have just as easily pushed this back another day because of how late it was getting. But sure enough, he came back and finished the job. Richard had my unit back up and running better than new the very same day! I appreciated his conversation and customer service while he was working on my unit.I would definitely recommend AM/PM Heating and Cooling!

Took care of an obscure issue with my heat pump covered under my home warranty. Top notch service. Came out several times troubleshooting. Wouldnt give up trying to find the issue. Repaired supper fast after diagnosis even though the part had to be ordered. Great guys and great service over the phone too.

The fan in my furnace simply stopped working one hot day, and of course we needed the A/C.AM/PM Heating and Cooling was very prompt getting a serviceman to my house. He was able to diagnose the problem immediately.He had to order a new fan and one electrical part, but he left and returned with the parts 2 & 1/2 hours later.It was all up and running again in no time, and explained everything very well.I will certainly use them again.

Every one I had worked with or talked to in the company were very nice and very knowledgeable. Customer service was top rated. They were also very accommodating. They knew I was going out of town and worked around my schedule to get things done before I had to leave! I had the furnace and the heat exchange changed out, they did a great job and left the place clean.Very happy to have found them.

Ryan was here today and got our heat pump and air handler in in one day. Mostly by himself. It was very hot in our attic and he had to be up there for hours. Very professional and friendly. We and our puppy are very happy to be cool again. Would recommend him and AM/Pm to anyone.

Good service, bad customer support. They double charged me the service fees, once at service time, and another time a year and two months later claiming they did not receive the first payment. When I threatened to report this to 2-10 Homeowner, they threatened to report to Collection Agency, so I ended up having to pay. When I asked why did you wait 14 months to request the payment, they answered they sent me emails, which isnt true, not a single reminder email from them anywhere in my inbox or junk. I will report these crooks to 2-10 Homeowner.

I was referred to AM/PM from my home warranty provider. They completed the warranty work and I had them install duct work for the entire length of my house, which was done for a reasonable price and in a timely manner. The crew that did the work were professional and the office staff were extremely responsive and helpful. They did a very good job. Four stars instead of five because a technician was supposed to come back to my house on one occasion and it was a no call/no show. Apparently traffic and distance were a factor; however, a phone call would have helped.

He explained clearly what the issues were, what are options were and associated costs. He was an excellent representative for the company. We will certainly continue to use them when needed!

11 pm - Just got finished with the most bizarre and unprofessional email correspondence with Marlene after trying to figure out why a bill was sent 11 months late with a $10 interest fee. Aside from the 11-month delay, it took over 3 weeks for her to respond to my initial inquiry and only after I prompted again. The service call in question was covered under warranty. Normally we would have a $75 deductible but the technician told us the issue was caused by a previous service that was not conducted properly so they would not be billing the warranty company or us. We have always paid at the time of service otherwise, as is required by their contract with the warranty company. She admits in this email chain to having had an employee who wasn’t properly tracking receivable accounts, but still will not even credit the $10 interest fee. Interest accrued over 11 months where we had no idea there was even a balance - and they had no idea either! I am still shocked that I had to explain to her why all of this is not ok and that she thinks it is acceptable to treat customers this way when upset about a mistake made by them. She even said she could have just charged my credit card without even notifying me! Like I should be grateful she didn’t or something. And like that’s an ethical business practice. Super disappointed as we’ve alway has good experiences with their techs and they seem to be very good at what they do. So good they even know when things weren’t done properly before and don’t charge you. I’m not sure if there is anything I can do about this, but at the very least I will let me warranty provider know if they continue to do business with this company, I will be switching providers.

My husband and I noticed our furnace wasnt working (as the weather got cooler). I called AM/PM and they were able to come out the next day! It wasnt in the budget to by a new furnace; thankfully the techs switched out our fuses and it started right back up. It has been working great ever since. Techs were very professional and polite. My friend is an elderly gentleman whose ancient oil furnace failed to ignite last fall. I helped him find a contractor who works on oil furnaces in Clark County because competent HVAC contractors are sparse here. NO ONE else had the skill set necessary to ensure a 95 year old man could live through the winter except for AM/PM Heating & Cooling. They scheduled an immediate visit, resolved the issue for a very reasonable price, and made sure my friend was warm and snug this fall and winter. They are coming back next fall for maintenance. Use AM/PM!

I contacted AM/PM a week ago. The week before the hottest week of the year because my AC unit died. The soonest they could schedule to come out and give me an estimate was the following Friday. 9 or 10 days later. They had a sale going so I wanted to give them a chance. I had scheduled estimates with a total of 9 companies and they were the last one on my list. They called me Friday morning to ask me if they could reschedule the estimate. They gave me some story about how they had some senior citizens that needed emergency repairs today.Now dont think me heartless towards seniors, but either they were flat out lying about why they couldnt come out, or they are so poorly setup that they have the same people doing repairs as providing estimates.None of the other 8 companies that came out worked that way, every single one sent out a person whose sole dedicated job function was to provide estimates.I would never ever call these people for service again.

Bad communication. Called to get a TXV valve replaced under warranty. Poor communication in the office but finally got a technician scheduled to come out. Tried to find out what day and time they were coming. Was advised they would come after 2. Finally on Monday of this week (7/8) I finally was able to get ahold of someone and was advised that they would be out on Tuesday around 12:30. Tuesday comes, I take time off from work to meet the technician here and find out that he doesnt have the valve. He advised that he would get the valve today Wed and be out at our place after 2 to get the work finished. I was also looking at replacing our thermostat with a two way communicating thermostat and he said he would have pricing to us that evening. No pricing by 4:30, so I contacted the office and was advised that we would get pricing by today. Today comes and no pricing, left a message for the office at 2 to see when the technician will be out and to see what the pricing is for the thermostat. Tried to reach out to the office again at 3 and was told the technician will be out on Thursday that he had a long job in Portland and finally got the pricing for the thermostat. Long story short, I decided to cancel my appointment with them. When you have to fight it seems to get any communication and you take time off from work to find out they dont have what they need to do the job, then you plan a second day and cancel plans to have them come out to find out that they are not coming then its not worth fighting them to give them business. I cant comment on how good of a job their work is because I was never able to make it that far. Need better communication and to follow through with what is being said.

I was put in contact with AM/PM through my home warranty service and am so happy that they are the contractor for heat pump issues. I worked a lot with Deseree and she was always pleasant when I called to check in on the status. She went above and beyond when our home warranty refused to fix a broken motor that was previously replaced with an after market model- convincing the home warranty company to pay for the fix! Greg came out last Friday to replace the motor and it has been working perfectly ever since then. Thank you for all of your help!! 10/10 would use again.

ZERO STARS but GOOGLE wont let me do less than 1. One of the worse companies I have ever dealt with. They were hired through our home warranty company in January 2017 to put in a new heating system. And can you believe, it is the end of March and it is still not done. They schedule appointments and dont show up. The installation is done improperly per the owner and parts needed for the system were thrown away! Apparently - the owner has time to go on a Disney Cruise but not attend to customers and to work he obligated himself to and even when reminded cant bring himself to just apologize and admit that he made a mistake and own up to it. The communication from their company is horrid - no one - even the owner - remembers what they say, do or what is going on. Even the owner commented himself on more than one occasion that the unit was not installed properly and there were issues - have they been back to rectify this NO! Even after several times that I, as the customer, have reminded them. They conveniently never remember about what they previously said or did. And but for me following up on them completing the job that they were hired to do, well - I would like to say its done - but again - its not. It has now taken me filing a complaint with the Home Warranty Company - and thank god we have them because if it wasnt for them - we would be on our own dealing with this Horrid Company! So take my advice, stay far, far away from this company - they dont care about their work, they dont care about their customers and they apparently could care less about being a successful and reputable business.

I think I have been ripped off - what would you think? Called AM/PM and told them exactly what the problem was. My mini split small heat pump was not working as good as in the past and I found the fitting that was leaking on the indoor unit. I showed the tech the problem and he said it would be an all day job and they might have to leave the vacuum pump running overnight. Then I ask him how much this is going to cost. He said maybe $800 or it could be less. I told him I could buy a new heat pump for $650. He just said he had to evacuate the lines, disassemble the indoor unit (for some reason), run the vacuum pump for hours, and charge the system. My owners manual says the refrigerant may need to be topped off in the future. I told him I couldnt send $800 on a $650 unit. So then he charges me $102 for the no service call. He was here less than 15 min. Did not check anything. I am a senior, maybe he thought I was senile.

If I could have left 0 stars, I would have. This is the worst company I have ever delt with! These people are ridiculous! I scheduled an appointment with them between 10:30 and 11 and no one showed up. When I called in the dingbat receptionist couldnt figure out who I even was and then turned it around on me stating that he was there, but early and couldnt call because he left his phone at another call. None of which was my fault. Long story short, the lady on the phone was a complete waste of space. She ended up telling me to call another company and then hung up on me. Worst. Company. Ever! So now Im stuck in the freezing cold and left high and dry from this pathetic excuse of a so called company. Beware!

My hot water heater started issuing an exhaust fumes odor and I called NW Natural to check it out. The technician arrived quickly and determined there was at least one leak on the line from the pilot light. He tried but could not repair it so shut off the gas to the heater as a precaution. I called my extended warranty provider and told them to send a repair request to AM/PM as I trusted their technicians. It turned out that there were three places where leaks were occurring! Chris Beeman, the technician, worked diligently and was able to block those leaks but made it clear it was only temporary but I did have hot water flowing again. Deseree Tabor in the office communicated the issues with the hot water tank with my extended warranty insurance company and they agreed to replace the tank! Im so grateful to these two wonderful people at AM/PM who handled my problem with integrity and professionalism. The tank had been repaired for the same issue meaning the pilot light mechanism malfunctioning about a year and half ago. Now Im not worried that in another year or so Ill have a malfunctioning heater once again. As far as Im concerned this is the only heating and cooling company Ill do business with in the future!!

They are trying to double bill me for 2-10 home warranty deductible. I advised I already paid and showed them invoice which showed I paid. They are denying saying they alway show the deductible as being paid on their invoices. This is not the first issue with them over billing after service was complete they sent me 2 other invoices in the amount of $450 and $140 when I called 2-10 home warranty to complain they advised me that I shouldnt be charged anything over what I already paid with my deductible and they would contact AM/PM directly. They will not resolve the $65.00. I sent them email with documentation and tried to resolve directly with company and was hung up on. I called back later still with no resolve. So I said I would file complaint with BBB.

Since owning my house many business cards have run their course through my wallet – that is until I got hold of AM/PM Heating and Cooling for the job I needed done. Sam and his colleagues offered me an amiable and friendly demeanor immediately at my front door. All that needed done was a quick and simple installation of a new water heater. To my surprise, the company was able to fill my request within about 24 hours. Often the case is I would call the store and have to relay my situation to some novice with entry level background and little desire to solve problems. AM/PM was completely different. After the seriously clean, and needless to say, professional looking installation, they even answered questions and gave me advice on my heater which is in need of repairs soon. The price quoted was quite nearly the same, give or take a few dollars, as what the final total was determined. It has been almost a month now since having dealt with AM/PM Heating and Cooling and the work is still holding up without an end in sight. I would give their number to a friend in their time of need, and recommend them to anyone who wants a job done timely and resourcefully, neatly and long lasting.

This company was chosen by my Home Warranty company so I really didn’t have a choice. From the start it was one problem after another. From showing up late or not showing up at all, I never received notice until I’d call after they were scheduled to arrive. I had an inspector randomly show up at my house for a “scheduled” inspection AMPM had forgot to tell me about. I travel for work, so I had to rearrange my entire schedule several times for appointments that they didn’t bother showing up for or would show up hours late after I called to question when they’d be here. After my furnace was installed, they did such a poor job of taping it that it was heating my garage for a week and would have never passed a duct testing without more work done just minutes before the testing was completed. This company leaves a lot to be desired as far as scheduling appointments, showing up on time (or even bothering to show up at all), and completing the job they’ve been paid to do.

They were the contractors our home insurance picked. They came out quickly but then when our heater was out but was so booked they couldnt get a new part and have it installed for 6 days. They gave me the option of getting the part myself and installing it myself then they would come back out and still charge me. Nice guy but seriously unacceptable service.

Our furnace went out the night before last. Of course it was the coldest night of the year and I didnt have any electric heaters. We were contacted the next morning by AMPM. The technician showed up by 12;30. He coordinated the problem with our landlord, who told him to replace the unit as soon as possible. The technician, Mike, asked us when we would like him to come over, and we asked if 7:00 the next morning was too early. He said that would be perfect. He also asked us if he could drop an electric heater by so we wouldnt freeze that night, which he did!He showed up exactly on time. He had the old unit out within 30 minutes, left and picked up the new unit within an hour. It took him (and Chris) several hours to finish, but the end result was a beautiful installation.I will recommend Mike and Chris from AM/PM Heating and Cooling to anyone with HVAC issues. Thanks so much!

I got in touch with AM PM with a problem. Talking about what needs to be done in terms of furnace repair is like bringing my car in for repairs, Im clueless - a position Ive never been comfortable with. What I didnt expect after explaining what needed to be done was the non-pressured response of telling me if Id like to check out their suggestions with someone else, they were fine with that. In addition, they explained that part of my system wouldnt have to be replaced as it still had some mileage on it in their opinion. This in my experience is not a typical scenario, and was pretty damn refreshing. Honesty - what a concept.

These guys did a great job in assessing, fixing and delivering what they promised. I couldnt be happier. Ive dealt with two previous HVAC companies and these guys are leagues above the former. Honesty about what they do and going above and beyond to make the client happy is why theyre now my only Go-2 HVAC company I will deal with in PDX.

My furnace broke and it was very cold outside. Normally I do my research to find a company but this time I was in a bind as my family needed heat turned back on. Greg at AM/PM has a full understanding of this and has no problem exploiting you for it. I will give them the a compliment that they were able to make it to my house the same day I called when none of the other companies could. That really should have been my first warning sign that a HVAC company could squeeze me in. They set me an appointment for 12 to be out. At 11:55 Greg called to let me know he was going to be running late and should be there by 1:00. He finally showed up at 2:00 not the biggest deal as Im sure winter is a busy time but again this should have been another warning sign. He popped up in my attic looked at the control board that had a self diagnosing LED light and said the slow blinks meant my fire rod needed to be cleaned. He pulled it out wiped it clean and away the furnace went. He the. Asked for my credit card information and told me they would send a bill. This again should have been a warning sign. Many tradesmen will have the office take care of the billing later that day but will give you an estimate. He left my house a half hour after he arrived at 2:30. Two days later my phone alerted me to a $240 charge on my credit card. When I called to get an explanation as to how the charge got so high for a visit that took less than an hour to complete including drive time, I was yelled at by the lady who answered the phone. She wanted me to understand that they needed to make a profit and be able to cover business expenses. She then slammed the phone down and hung up on me.To make things better they then sent me a hey screw you, your thinking is wrong letter. Feel free to look on Yelp youll see it there. Its comical how bad their idea of customer service is.

This was the 3rd or 4th time Ive used AM/PM. The first was an emergency middle of winter no heat stuff and they went out of their way to get here as quickly as possible. It was thru a home warranty company which impressed me even more.Next I had them install heating ducts to two bedrooms who had wall heaters instead. Now any guest that stays over has warm consistant heat. They were friendly and efficient and didnt waist any time getting it done. The job was quoted for a reasonable amount before the job. I requested a thermostat i had bought and couldnt figure out how to put in be installed . They quoted a good price and even though they ended up having to pull new wiring through to get it done right nothing changed not the price nor their attitude which was great.Recently they did another repair under the home warranty and it took alittle while to figure out what exactly was going on but once again very competent and a didnt get upset or lose their temper and I have heat and air conditioning once again! and in spring here sometimes you need both in the same week.Last Thursday when I called trying to get a quote on some work requested for the sale of our home (insulating a couple of ducts and yes they had the insulation had come off some old pipes them to me but I was being cheep so chose not to do the work last year) they were able to send out the young man who did the bedroom duct and he quoted me a reasonable price and i was able to scedule it for the next monday which was quicker than he thought so he charged me less!Yep I highly recomend them! Plus they are all nice including the wonderful support staff.

I am very greatful that my 2-10 home warranty service called am/pm heating to do my service call when my heat pump wasn’t working right (Barely any heat)I was called by the home warranty company on Monday and was told that it would probably be 4 days before an approval to do the fix. I let them know that the only heat we had was a pellet stove that only heated part of the house. He said he would try to cut the approval time down to 2 days.On Tuesday I called AM/PM and the wonderful young lady (I wish I wrote her name down) in the office said that she was trying to get the home warranty company to let them install the parts she located at a nearby supplier instead of ordering through the HW’s usual supplier that usually took 10 days to ship in. My electric furnace is very old and located in a bedroom closet so parts aren’t readily available. She called me back 2 hrs later and let me know that she was able to talk with the Liaison for the 2-10 HW company and had got the approval to use the local parts and were able to come the next day on Wednesday and did the needed repairs. So instead of having to wait a possible 13 days I was able to have a working furnace the next day!The Am/Pm technicians were great, cleaned up the mess and took the trash with them. I now have a lovely warm home!Am/Pm went way out of the way so we could be warm. I am so greatful that there are individuals and company’s that go beyond doing a job to caring about people.I can highly recommend this company!

After calling Greg out to service my furnace, he was unable to idenitfy the problem and had no problem charging me the $85.00 service charge. About a week later, the furnace stopped working again, in freezing weather. Greg came out and AGAIN, he could not identify the problem and seemingly did very little professional troublshooting. Luckily he didnt charge me for this visit...until a month later when I received a statement with a balance due. After calling the company and letting the billing associate know that while they were nice, I definitely could not recommend them based on Gregs inability to do...his job, the billing associate replied with, Well I guess thats your problem, not ours. and hung up. Be Wary of this company, you will get very little, if anything for your money!
