The girls were very friendly. But the curls fell out fast. I asked for a lot hairspray but she lightly sprayed. And within a hour my curls fell out. And my updo fell flat.. My makeup session was fun. Loved the makeup and the fresh look I got.

I had a terrible experience with Beauty Bar. I had an appointment at 2pm for a cut, color and highlight. I had a car emergency come up, so, knowing that I might not make it to my appointment on time, I called in to Beauty Bar and told them I was running late. I said I would be at least 5 minutes late if not more, and I asked what they wanted me to do. Should I reschedule, did they mind if I were late?The woman who answered told me that if I were any later than 15 minutes, to call back in and see what the stylist wanted me to do, if she’d still take me or I should reschedule.So, after dropping off the car, rushing home and rushing over to the Beauty Bar, as I’m pulling into their parking lot at 2:10 pm, a different woman (not my stylist) calls me and says that unfortunately if I’m going to be late for my appointment, they can no longer take me.I tell her I’m already there in the parking lot. I tell her that I’m only 10 minutes late, and that I had previously called and was told that as long as it was under 15 minutes late, it was okay. Nothing. It made no difference.This woman had frost in her voice, icicles were forming, and she again said that they couldn’t take me. She wasn’t kind, accommodating or apologetic. After some time, she begrudgingly said was that she was sorry for the misunderstanding. Then she said the most they could do is let me have the color today, but I would have to come back again a separate time to have the highlights done. And that was it, she wouldn’t budge.I had to turn around and go home for being 10 minutes late, even though I had specifically verified beforehand that it was okay if it was under 15 minutes. I wasted gas and time for something they could have told me originally upfront.Not only that, I’ve used Beauty Bar for years, as have other family members, and the hair stylists are in fact quite leisurely compared to other places I’ve been. What usually takes 2 to 2.5 hours elsewhere will take 3 hours at Beauty Bar. So, if the hair stylist had to leave exactly at a specific time, and couldn’t be held over even 10 minutes, I find it hard to believe that they couldn’t have just managed to squeeze my work into 2 hours and 50 minutes instead of the usual 3 hours. There’s always slack and dilly-dallying when I’ve been there.Either way, they should have told me that when I originally called in to specifically ask about it. I’m very disappointed in them, and they lost me as a customer, I took my hair needs elsewhere. And elsewhere managed to do the whole thing in 2 hours. And also charge less. 😉

My first time. My sister gave me a gift certificate to use for my birthday. I chose a facial and eyebrow wax. Their accommodations were exquisite. I would highly recommend and I will return.

I normally am not one to complain but the make up service I received for my friends wedding was not done well. There was four of us getting our hair and makeup done for the bridal party. The hair styles we received were amazing! When we got to the makeup being applied, well, thats when it went down hill. There were two very sweet girls doing our makeup. We were set up in a room with hardly any lighting. The makeup that I expected to be used for a professional service would not have been from a drug store, but it was. There was no eye liner or lipstick available, as a matter of fact, one of the bridesmaids had to use her own eyeliner for us. The bride wanted a cat eye and it was done in eyeshadow! The airbrushed makeup was cakey, not the right pigment for any of our skin tones and wasnt applied evenly. This couldve been prevented with adequate lighting. We didnt realize this until we were outside and with the bride there with us, we didnt want to add any stress to her day so we did not comment then about our services. Once we were aware that the bride wasnt happy, we promptly removed all the makeup and did it ourselves. Two of the bridesmaids and the brides mother reached out to inform Beauty Bar of the situation, they received push back from the coordinator and manager, telling us that it was our fault and we wouldnt receive a refund but they would give the bride a complimentary pedicure and hair style! They then reached out to the owner and we were issued our refunds, but then the bride received an email from them stating they were rescinded their complementary services and it was the bridesmaids fault because we wouldnt stop contacting them. I appreciate the fact that we were finally refunded but the snarkiness we and finger pointing was proven to be in poor taste. Again, all of the ladies working there were wonderful and friendly, the ones applying makeup, it wasnt their fault they werent given adequate training, the right tools to do their job properly and better lighting.

Just moved to Ohio from Texas and I needed a full highlight on my hair which was SO BAD the last time I got it done and Renee SAVED MY HAIR and did an amazing job!!! For my first time trying to find a salon near me I am beyond happy I picked the right place and I will back again!!! Thank you Beauty Bar. I had a wonderful time and cant wait to come back. :)

Beyond terrible customer service! I wouldn’t recommend anyone go here. I reached out and left many messages to have my hairdresser or a manager call me and have been ignored for over a month. I’ve used the beauty bars services since 2011 and will definitely be finding a new salon after this negative experience.

Do not get a manicure here. Very rushed, their idea of a manicure is a paint job and cuticle removal (no hand massage...nothing). I could get past all this if the paint job didnt look like a 4 year old did it.... lots of bumps,uneven color tone not to mention gel polish all over my skin. The nail tech reshaped my nails even after I told her I filed them and that they were the perfect shape and length already. Thanks beauty bar, now I have to go home and remove this awful paint job. I cant even stand to look at it. How embarrassing.

This review comes a year after my first visit...In this day and age of promises of results and often being disappointed, I entered my first visit with healthy skepticism - I wanted to move from my dyed brown hair to my natural grey/white - and did not want to deal with a transition period.However, from the first message with Beauty Bar who recommended trying Tina... to the initial consultation... and then the first appointment to to reach my goal... and finally - my subsequent regular visits... I have been more than pleased with the results.During every possible part of the process, I found Tina to be concerned for any discomfort I might find with what was going on and that I should be happy with the outcome. The results exceeded my expectations. In fact the results are so much more pleasing than any of my expectations for a first visit.And now after numerous visits since that first one... I am still just as happy. In addition to doing a great job with color - shes a wonderful stylist and has a magic touch with her cuts that always leave me with something easy to maintain and looks fantastic!Tinas professionalism and positive demeanor also make the experience a very pleasant one.... I always look forward to our appointments.I can recommend Beauty Bar and Tinas services without reservation.(PS... even with the changes due to Covid... My pedicure appointment was great!They were able to squeeze me in on a Saturday. The technician who did my nails was extremely friendly, and gave me a couple really good recommendations on things to do in the Toledo area.I would highly recommend a nail appointment here! The color selection was great and my feet are smooth still a week later!

I called a set up am appointment for my daughter to have a facial for her 31st birthday. I gave them ALL my card information to put on file so the charges would be paid for by me. My daughter was so excited to get her first facial. At the check out the girl charged my daughter for her own birthday gift and overlooked my card on file. I was livid, I live in Flat Rock, Mi and my daughter lives in Erie the transaction had to be made over phone. I was assured that my card would be used. When I called at 4:00 pm on Sunday, they admitted it was their oversight and would speak with the manager. At 4:50 I still had not heard back... so I called the beauty bar back before they closed. After confirming they were able to reverse the transaction,,,, THEY DID NOT CALL ME !!!! Finally TRINITY said to me in a snotty statement “ Thank you for NOT being very patient.“ THAT WILL BE OUR LAST VISIT IN THERE. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.....even when it is their fault.

Really great experience! My wife and I had pedicures (I know, I know) and it was actually really relaxing. The ladies made me feel comfortable, as I was the only guy in their nail area. They offered me a beer and my wife a glass of wine. Classy, worth the price, and made the wife happy. Win Win Win!

A friend treated me to a pedicure here one day. The place was very clean, there were lots of colors to choose from, the massage chair was nice and the drink wasn’t bad either. I tried chatting with the girl who did my toes, but she was not having it. She seemed burdened by her job or just uncomfortable with me for some reason. She did a good job though. It was a decent experience.

The gel manicure was medicore at best. I didnt feel like my time was valued though I was patient. I would not recommend.

I love Amanda, does wonders with a cut and color. And she is so sweet. Love the renovations done to an old house, made modern and useful as a hair salon.

30$ to remove gel polish even if applied by them. Paid over 75$ for a BASIC gel pedi. No hot towels, real soak time or exfoliating. Also kinda dirty.

I had an appointment Sunday the 17th for a couples massage for my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day. I called weeks prior to set it up so it could be a flawless and smooth process . I believe I spoke to someone named Charlotte that was very sweet and helped set it up , I prepaid with Zoey so that when we were done we could just leave . I made it VERY clear to every one I spoke with that I wanted it to be a surprise and that I didn’t want my boyfriend to know the service or the amount when we arrived . As SOON as we walked in Jennifer said “ are you 2 here for the massages ?” 🤦🏽‍♀️ Then when we got to the room , the mimosas weren’t set up like I asked and the massage therapist were not good at all . The one that did me didn’t even put a hot towel on me , but the older lady that did my boyfriend did . It was suppose to be a deep tissue massage and it was thee most lightest massage I ever got . I left with my back hurting the same way I came . I kept my tip that I was going to give them because the service was HIGHLY disappointing. Checking out Jennifer again blurts our the amount of the service as he’s right next to me . Just a disaster and I called to make it special and discreet for him weeks before the appointment — for nothing . I do not recommend massages here . I will just stick to getting pedicures and that’s it .

EYE BROW TINT AND WAX EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE

My husband and I visited this spa/salon for a couples massage and pedicures. The experience was amazing. We loved the massage therapists and women who did our pedicures. They did a great job and this place definitely has a spa atmosphere which is exactly what we were looking for. We have a 7 month old and this was a rare date for us. So worth it!

First time here....I am a bit phobic when it comes to getting hair done....thick and out of control frizzy curls!!my stylist was Liz and she was fabulous. ...her work and personality was stellar. ...will definitely be back to salon and Liz to keep up the beautiful color and cut I am showing off!!!....feel like a million bucks and 10 years younger!!!! Very well set up and deceptively large on the inside. I got a facial and the ethstetician was very knowledgeable and offered helpful suggestions. I followed that with a pedicure which felt rushed as if I was being fit in between appts. I will go back to see if it was just a fluke.

I explained to Nicci the problems with how my hair was cut at another salon. She understood and I love the cut. I will definately be going back.

Its just the place i go to catch my fade. I leave there lookin super crispy.

I had an appointment that I wanted a full blonde and got blonde highlights? Not what I asked for and only colored the blonde I had before. She only darkened the blonde when I wanted a bright blonde. I have light brown hair that would be fine to transition and she couldn’t do it. She told me that she didn’t have enough time? Well first off Im paying you so it shouldn’t matter the time and think that is something they should ask is how long your hair is before making a appointment. Then, getting the foil out and she just pulled them out really hard. Rinsing the dye out and the water was hot then cold and got water all in my ears and face. Then with the blow drying, she barely combed my hair and tried running her fingers through my hair like that would work? Spent a lot of money for my hair to look the same and still want me to book another appointment? No thanks.

I cant say enough about this place! I was complaining to my girlfriends that Ive been struggling to find a place that does it all and they recommended beauty bar so I definitely feel like Ive hit the jackpot! Atmosphere is gorgeous, the front desk was very polite and helpful and my hair and nails have never looked better. I would recommend to anyone who doesnt mind spending a little extra, but you definitely get what you pay for.

I was interested in and scheduled an appointment for my partner and I to have waxing services. Everything went smoothly for my first time except my actual outcome, pun intended. I didnt realize until I got home that she missed an obvious section on the bikini line. I only gave it a four instead of a three because the aesthetician that did my girlfriends wax came out perfect. The one with 15 years experience. The facility is welcoming, the ladies are all professional and polite. It was obvious we are of the LGBT and they were unbothered. The waiting room is private and comfortable, there was water available. Although we couldve went for mimosas but they werent offered. Also, Ive gifted my mother massage certificates that she enjoyed, shes been a returning customer. Overall we will be returning as well.

Ladies..and Gents...Girls and boys....come be pampered and spoiled. This place is amazing. The staff is amazing. Amanda Turner can style your hair beyond Beautiful, you will walk out feeling like you can add anything to your to do list and conquer it. Only way to experience this wonderful place is make an appt. I am a regular customer here so naturally I used them for my wedding day. Jen Wernert did my hair and it turned out absolutely perfect. Kellie Lundin did my makeup with airbrush and it lasted all day and looked gorgeous in photos. I felt so confident on my big day, thank you! My bridesmaids, mother, and MIL also got their hair and makeup done and everyone was happy.

Terrible. I went in here to treat myself for my birthday last week. Thought I would go to a nice spa and treat myself to a mani/pedi. I get there and the lady finds out I have gel polish on my nails and feet and was very obviously irritated because it was not scheduled into the appt (Not my fault). She didn’t talk to me for the first 10 minutes of service.Finally she lightens up, then starts talking and I apologized (despite this not being my fault she didn’t know) and she said it was the front desk’s fault. Yet I was totally punished for this. She proceeded to tell me she might not have the time to do everything I scheduled. I wanted to walk out. She decided to do everything scheduled, but it was not worth the amount of money they charged me. My gel nails were chipping a week after service.I will not be coming back here and will advise others to not go there as well. This is not how you treat customers and they do not make you feel pampered at all whatsoever. I wish I would have walked out and not have wasted my money. I am just too nice.

Went for the first time for my hair. Thought it would be extremely expensive, but it wasnt. Very clean place. Ellen did an excellent job of fixing what fiesta messed up. Ellen did exactly what I was looking for! I will be back and will recommend my friends to her.:)

I brought in a photos of how I wanted my hair layered. I wanted to add volume to my hair as it was long. I would have thought for a 60.00 haircut, the stylist would have taken longer than 24 minutes to cut and style my hair. It was never styled therefore I was unable to see were the layers fell. They are so long it only added volume to the bottom when I was looking to add volume around my face and sides. I’m very disappointed ☹️

Went before my wedding to get a gel Mani. The staff seemed stuck up and disinterested. Was never offered water, let alone any other beverages they had. The girl doing my nails messed up multiple times as well. Over all not a good experience. Have never returned.

I LOVE going here! Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. The ladies absolutely know what they are doing! I will never go anywhere else because they are just so consistent! The girl I go to is named Kimberly Olejownik! Go see her! She is amazing! Everytime I walk out I look amazing! She is a Miracle worker!

I got a simple trim last week and my hair was completely butchered by a level 4 hair stylist. I hadn’t gotten a hair cut in 3 years because of bad hair cuts and did so much research to find this salon and the lady did a chop job. I have an undercut that she trimmed with clippers and a comb and she left it patchy with some spots almost bald and then when she was “thinning” my hair like I requested she left me with choppy, uneven layers. I wasted $55 plus a tip on this haircut. I would never recommend this salon to anyone.

I went to beauty bar for a Brazilian wax because my usual Stylist was unable to fit me in. I called and asked if I could do a walk in and I was booked before another appointment that was scheduled about an hour and a half later. I get to the BB and had to park on the complete opposite of side of the building by the dumpster and walk all the way around the building to get to the entrance. I walked in and the receptionists ignored me as I stood there waiting to be greeted. I guess their cell phone was pretty important. No beverage was offered once I was checked in, they didnt take my coat or make small talk whatsoever.The stylist came and got me and walked me back to the room and all she wanted to talk about what how I was using her lunch hour to get a wax and how she had an appointment in 45 minutes.During the wax she repeatedly got the used strips of wax stuck to my socks and didnt bother helping to get them off or offering something to wipe off the wax with. I had to throw my socks away!!!! She waxed my front in such a hurried fashion that I was red and swollen for days. She repeatedly waxed the same spot instead of using tweezers or applying pressure before waxing again. She missed quite large areas that I had to shave in order for it all to be even and hair free and never offered to do my back side. I didnt even want to tip the $5 that she didnt deserve. If she wouldve taken her time she wouldve gotten more. Waxing down there doesnt hurt me, but this experience hurt quite a bit!!!Never again.

I have to say at firsts its a really nice place and when I went for my first I just got a manicure and I thought it would not chip and boy was I wrong it chipped immediately I was very disappointed by this and today when I went I got both a mani and pedi and it was nice until I went home at night and shaved my legs and washed my face and the polish came completely off two of my nails overall I am very disappointed with my experience with this place and I dont know if I want them to do my nails again hopefully when I call tomorrow they at least will let me get the polish for free or something
