I have very high levels of dental anxiety but both visits to this office I have been put completely at ease by the whole staff, from the front desk, to the dental technician, to the dentist. The electronic communication is also very clear, and the office is beautiful. I do not have enough good things to say! Best dentist I have ever been to.

There is an amazing staff at Ferrara Dental. This was my first time visiting and you can tell that each person there truly enjoys their job. This was probably the most thorough dental visit I have ever had, not to mention the detailed explanation each person gave me before the x rays, dental exam, and the cleaning. They took the time to answer any questions I had, got to know me as a person, and made me feel very comfortable during my visit. I am thrilled to have found this wonderful dental team!

I liked this place when I first went but then I got a cleaning shortly after the Covid restrictions were lifted and I should be $0 copay but they charged me a $20 Covid fee without disclosing this to me before my appointment so I decided that I wont be going back there.

Amazing Dentist and staff! I am so lucky to have found the perfect fit for my dental care needs. I’ve had MANY negative experiences at other dentist offices, in multiple states I’ve lived in, and I have never been able to fully trust a dentist until I met Dr Ferrara. She is the BEST, her quality of work is phenomenal, and I highly recommend her! I’ve loved every experience I’ve had from day one, and did I mention the staff is just as amazing! I’ve been coming here since 1996 and have always had an excellent experience and level of service since. People have come and gone throughout the years however I’ll single out Kesha as my favorite hygienist of all time. She’s great at what she does and she’s got a great personality which is a winning combination.

My husband and I have been coming to Ferrara Dental (previously Upshaw’s office) for years and each visit is always very pleasant.We have been treated by both doctors, and probably by each dental assistant, and not to forget our cheerful Hygienist Kesha.Each and every one of them remembers our personal stories and even follow up on events we shared at a previous visit, to see how they ended up turning out. Makes each visit feel cozy and more like visiting a friend ( that likes to look into your mouth).We would recommend you ladies to anyone!Only negative thing is obviously parking in downtown, but on the other side you have a nice view of the Bay from the 14th floor while you sit in your dental chair.Thumbs up to all of you!

I had a dental emergency today and had to make an appointment. turns out i have a recurring infection that needed meds. AWESOME staff, very accommodating in getting me an appointment. once there they were professional and prompt. Dentist and associate were GREAT.highly recommended, 5 stars for sure!

Professional, friendly, clean, and fast!I have been a patient for over 10 years and I have never been disappointed by my experiences - this includes whitening services, fillings, etc. but most of all, I have been consistently impressed with my cleanings by Kesha. I don’t know how she does it, but I walk out with the most white and stain free smile every time. I had one stain that I tried to remove with whitening strips, and a special toothbrush head - no luck... so I figured it would give Kesha trouble but.. nope! She got rid of it in 2 seconds!Thank you Kesha, Dr. Upshaw, and staff!

I am having a great experience with Ferrara dental.My first dental work was done by Dr Maria (and her lead assistant Penny) . They are very good. Dr Maria is great dentist, light hands & quality work. My cleaning was with the hygienist; Kesha. She is very good too.The staff are very detailed with my treatment plan. They charged me a co-pay, but it is understandable since my current insurance doesnt cover some details. I def recommend them 👌🏻

Dr. Ferrara is the best! She is trustworthy and does excellent work! I trust her and her team completely. She is kind and compassionate which makes you feel comfortable. She makes you want to go to the dentist! The team she works with is also great, I go for my cleaning during my lunch hour without missing any work. The front desk staff especially Anna are helpful and kind. I never wait long for an appointment or in the waiting room.

Ive been going to this office for about 4 years now. Everyone is so nice, helpful and attentive to your needs. The location is not always ideal if youre not familiar with area but its 100% worth it. Along with that Dr. Ferrara is so sweet along with everyone else! Highly recommend!!

Dr. Ferrara is the kindest dentist Ive ever visited! She is very friendly, upbeat and makes going to the dentist fun! Her staff and assistants are always extremely sweet and helpful with working around my crazy schedule, a major plus for any busy person or family! Her office also has a gorgeous view of the Tampa Bay, an especially great treat for weary ones who might want a distraction during their visit. :)

I love coming to this dentist office. I moved from Boston to Tampa in 2017 so I needed to find a Dentist that I could trust and who had great service. Ferrara Dental is all the above! They always go above and beyond to accommodate their patients and their staff is very friendly.

The Dentist and staff did great work, but they tried to charge me a co-pay even though my insurance doesn’t require one. It was corrected immediately when I brought it to their attention but then a few weeks later I received another bill advising that my claim was denied because they performed a procedure that wasn’t covered (even though they checked my insurance beforehand.) I was told by another patient that they’re really good when it comes to cost estimates and that it was strange that they made this mistake. Well, the additional charge is the nail in the coffin for me and I’m taking my business elsewhere. Not saying they’re dishonest but it is suspicious.

This dental office is listed as a pediatric dentist under my dental insurance. Appointment was set a month ago for my 4 year old, Insurance #, SSN, DOB, and name was given. At the dental office, insurance and my daughters information has not been verified. My husband is told they do not see children under 4 and he is given a referral. My husband could have been told this before the appointment however, they wait till he is at the office with a newborn and my 4 year old(and we all know how easy it is to travel with 2 kids on your own). This office does not care about you or your child; save yourself the time and go somewhere else.

Absolutely unheard of getting a call from the office telling me they are running behind and that I could arrive 15 minutes late. Most doctors and dental offices would simply make you sit a round and wait with no explanation. Love that they respect my time! Awesome, awesome, awesome!

Excellent use of digital dental technology and social media for patient engagement. My dentist conducted a very thorough review of my current status and her rationale for a recommended treatment plan. 5 stars warranted.

I have been going here for a few years and it seems like the patient care has dwindled and the work is sloppy and un organized. I’m not sure if Holly is always having a bad day when I have an appointment but she is the most unpleasant person to deal with. If I were in charge of this business I would not want someone like her dealing with patients - they won’t want to come back, me being one of them.

The entire staff, from the receptionist to the techs and the doctors, everyone is terrific! They are friendly, thorough, they treat the dentist phobics with the gentle care they need and they are always willing to do whatever they can to satisfy your needs. Do not be fooled. This office doesn’t tell you all charges you will have. Here is my story:I came for cleaning service but because I’m new client I go through new xrays, observation, examination etc ... after which I am told your total is $317 after insurance and you have to come back in 4 weeks to finish cleaning . Little did I know when I arrive today and they cleaned and polished my teeth and reviewed my teeth again. Billed me 72$. And I didn’t even see the doctor , who told me that she will take pictures of my teeth because she doesn’t know what is happening with it.I was furious because I was never told there is another bill coming ... why did you force me to come back 4 weeks later to “finish the job” from previous appointment if you considered this appointment like it is separate from another??? Right?!I withdrew from them as a client. Taking my business somewhere else and recommend you to do the same!

Friendly and PromptI love the staff at Ferrara Dental. I originally started going to this office, when I worked in downtown. About 7 years ago, I got a new job closer to Brandon and will still drive pass many Dentist offices to go back to Ferrara Dental. Everyone is extremely professional, welcoming and prompt. I never wait for my appointment, and even though they only see me twice a year they all remember me and even small details about me. I get my routine dental cleaning with Keasha and got my veneers 5 years ago with Dr. Upshaw, which look amazing and natural. To this day, I often get complimented on my smile. These ladies are both perfectionists, and I love that about them.

After having braces as an adult, I needed multiple fillings along my gum line. Dr. Ferrara did substandard work and behaved very unprofessionally during every appointment. She made me feel extremely uncomfortable during the procedures by having personal conversations with her hygienist (her dinner plans, discussions she had with her husband, her kids, etc.) while I was helplessly trapped in the dental chair. Then, ALL of Dr. Ferraras fillings failed (started to leak) within a year. I returned once to have them corrected, but Dr. Ferrara dismissed it as staining. No, Dr. Ferrara, two dentists have confirmed you did shoddy work. I had to wait two years before insurance would cover the replacement fillings.

It was great. The staff is very knowledgeable of the best treatment for my teeth. I look forward to completing my treatment.

I have been at patient at Dr. Upshaws office for the past year and a half. In this past year, the staff has completely changed my smile, my confidence, and my outlook on dentistry. They are the most compassionate and caring staff. I havent encountered one employee that hasnt been a delight. My hygienist is incredible, and has turned my gums around from a bad case of periodontal disease. I recently had 2 crowns on my front 2 top teeth. I have been wanting to write a review to express the elation that this has brought me, but I havent been able to find the words to express how I feel. I dont know that I will ever be able to find those words though. I didnt realize when they told me that i needed crown my front teeth what an impact it would have on me. I cracked my front teeth in half when i was a kid and I cant remember ever having front teeth that didnt have an issue of some sort with them. My teeth have been two toned and discolored for as long as I can remember. There was also a gap in them and they were worn down from having the porcelain fillings so long. I have always been extremely insecure about my teeth and often didnt smile in pictures unless you got a candid shot. Those days are OVER! There have only been a few times in my life that I have cried tears of joy. This is definitely one of them. I sobbed when they showed me my new smile. My new front teeth are stunning. Dr. Ferrara did an OUTSTANDING job. She matched the shape of my teeth to my face shape, whitened my other teeth, and matched the shade perfectly. I cant begin to thank her, and the team, enough for the consideration and compassion that went into this procedure. I consider myself to be a joyous person. There is nothing worse than being happy and cracking a big smile only to have to immediately retract it because you are concerned with what people will think about your teeth. Well, those days are over for me. I have gotten more compliments on my smile in the last 2 weeks than in my entire life, from strangers as well as people I know. I am obsessed with how great my smile is now because I never thought it could be that way. If you are looking for a great dentist, I highly recommend this office! They are the best!

Dr Leslie Ferrara and her Team of Professionals continue to raise the bar - this time during my son’s multiple visits to her Dental Practice for cavity treatment. My son was stiff as a board (always fearful in the dentist’s chair) and in tears when Dr F came to me in the waiting room. Her recommendation to use nitrous/laughing gas and her cool as a Cucumber demeanor with my son was the difference between extensive drama and a happy 13/year old! She and her Staff know how to take care of patients!!

I have never been so disappointed in my life with the customer service I received at this place. Let me start out by saying my hyginest and Dentist were both amazing, so its unfortunate that my rating is 1 star.When I called to book my first appointment, it was obvious I was a new customer because I was required to give all of my information. I was never told that I would need to PAY for parking to visit the dentist. Im originally from the city of Chicago, and never in my life have I had to pay for parking when going to the dentist. This should be comped for. Anyways, once I arrived late to my appointment due to having to find parking (or paying $3.75/hr to have my car valetd), I advised them it would have been nice to have been informed about needing to pay for parking. They mentioned they typically send an email to all new patients - I never recieved this email, and they acknowledged this saying because I gave my information over the phone, the email was never sent.Next, they performed x rays that I never agreed to (something in regards to oral cancer). This cost me an extra $20. Once again - I never gave my consent to have this x ray done.Next, during my first visit the hygienist did inform me I had very early stage of gym disease. When I mentioned no other dentist has told me this before, a young lady from the front came into my area. She then proceeded to give me a pity story about herself, showed her gums and explained how important it is to have the right treatment. Little did I know this treatment would cost me an arm and a leg, even with great dental insurance.The last and most important piece of this review, is that my bill CONSTANTLY CHANGED. And I obviously wouldnt be writing this review if they were deducting money from my bill - every time I turned around, an additional $20, $40, even $100 extra was added to my bill! The girl at the front desk was NEVER able to appropriately explain these costs. Im still receiving bills in the mail after paying my final payment (which Ive kept record of paying).There are plenty of dentistries in the city of Tampa, which Id recommend checking out before going to this place. Im extremely surprised that Im the first person to have this review, but hopefully it helps some going forward.

The best staff and best doctors Ive ever experienced.

So, I had one good experience with a crown here. Then I tried to come back for a crown on an implant and was grossly misquoted by Lisa. Initially she quoted me $1300 for an implant then, when I actually tried to schedule, she quoted me $600 to $800 more. Apparently I needed an abutment...why wasnt I given this variation in price to begin with? In either case, because of this misquote, I will never return to this dentist. Hopefully Dr. Ferrara reads these reviews.
