I lost hearing on one side very suddenly over the weekend and was able to quickly and easily make an appointment through their online appointment tool. When I arrived, the office was extremely clean and they had free beverages in a wide variety of flavors. Melissa was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and she took the time to explain things and shows you the inside of your ear when being cleaned. In quick order, she was able to restore my hearing with almost no pain by removing some build up for me in my ear canal. I would and absolutely will return in the future for all future ear cleanings. I was visiting Sioux Fall from Kansas City and realized I had forgotten to pack my hearing aid charger. While resigning myself to spending 3 days asking people to repeat themselves, I decided to call hearing aid stores in Sioux Falls to see if anyone had a charger I could use. As a retired veteran, I was referred to Baker Audiology. Dr Baker explained everything about how my hearing loss could affect me and measures that may help me not have to worry about the ringing in my ears. The staff was very friendly, very polite and very professional. I traveled over an hour and a half away and I must say that if I have to see another audiologist, I will request Baker Audiology. The hearing test is nothing like I ever had it is not just the ringing sound and you press the button. There are phrases that you repeat, and it is much more comfortable, the equipment is very high tech and makes you feel like youre getting a lot better job of finding out what is going on then just pushing a button when you think you hear something.

Although I am not a client at Baker Audiology, I had an incredible customer service experience there two years ago which resulted in a more recent development in my journey with hearing loss. I am from St. Cloud, Minnesota and was visiting the Sioux Falls area on Labor Day weekend 2018 when my right hearing aid quit working. At that point in time I had zero speech discrimination in my left ear so I was essentially deaf. A friend of mine contacted Melissa and informed her of my situation and asked if she would be willing to meet with me to see if she should could fix my aid. She was gracious enough to meet with me at her office on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and was able to come up with a temporary repair for my aid to get me through the weekend. In the process of discussing my hearing loss in my left ear she told me she thought I would be a candidate for a cochlear implant. Upon her recommendation I moved forward with the process and have recently received a cochlear implant which has already been life changing. I highly recommend Baker Audiology to anyone who is in need of consultation regarding hearing loss and the purchase of hearing aids if needed.

During the whole process, Melissa explained everything while testing my husband’s hearing to make sure that I understood where his hearing loss was at. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Melissa Baker for making herself available on an Emergency basis over this past Labor Day weekend. I have a close friend who was scheduled to be inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Arnolds Park Iowa on Labor Day weekend, and on Friday night, while in Spirit Lake, he dropped and damaged his hearing aid. Ray was in a position where he couldnt carry on a conversation, Play his guitar, or sing, with only hours before festivities were to begin. We were able to get Ray over to see Melissa in Sioux Falls, and she was able to assist him with what is now a back-up hearing aid. Without Melissa making herself available in this situation, this once in a lifetime opportunity of being inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would not have been the joyful occasion it turned out to be.
