Found this poor baby in my front yard covered in fleas, blood, and dirt late last night and had to find help as soon as possible. Jen was very responsive, and amazing when it was so late around 3AM. She provided us with so much help for our new found furry baby. Jen, you are God sent. Thank you so very much, I wish nothing but an overflow of blessings to you and the VCA Animal Hospital.

It has taken me about 2, almost 3 months to write this review. Not because I was given horrible or rude service, it was actually quite opposite. My boxer Bentley… had been having eye tremors and seizures one day out of the blue. It was very odd for us because we had him 8 years and had never taken him in for any health issues. He was born deaf but that was never an issue.We had to make the decision to bring him in to the hospital not really knowing what to expect. They took Bentley in right away all while the front staff had to deal with an emotional dog mom and dad. All staff the evening of 7/9/21 were all very understanding and compassionate. While we had been there, they had already put Bentley on seizure medicine and allowed us to see some small progression. This kept us hopeful& helped us trust the techs and staff servicing Bentley. We decided to keep him with the hospital for the next 12 hours, hoping there would be something to help save him. Unfortunately, the next morning we had to make the decision for euthanasia but the vet and techs were so good to us while doing so. They were not judgmental, and although they could see how hard it was for us to choose that route, they were very sympathetic towards us also. The vet allowed me to stay in the room until I was ready to leave, one of the staff that was there (I didn’t catch her name) went out of her way to help comfort me during this hard time and sat on the floor with me and my dog until I was ready to go. She didn’t have to do that; but she did and it spoke volumes. When I came back a few weeks later for his ashes, the front desk lady that brought him to me was very respectful and I could still feel like the staff actually cared about my loss. It took me this long to request his records. Amanda, was really helpful, sweet, while staying professional and helped me retrieve his records to help bring closure to my family. This hospital is amazing!! When and if we get a new fur baby, we will definitely be coming somewhere that cares.

Im so thankful for this hospital. Our six year old Beagle, Hatcher, was recently diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoma and, while having to wait a week til he could get into the soonest oncologist appointment available in the nearest 4 cities, he had taken a turn for the worst. He had stopped eating and drinking water for more than two days, was extremely lethargic, nearly comatose not responding to our verbals or touch. We admitted him overnight and they were able to get his energy and appetite back when we werent even sure if hed survive the weekend. They were available in a moments notice, didnt have a very long wait, were reasonably priced and were very sweet, gentle and concerned for our situation. The doctors and technicians really gave him the best treatment possible, even sending us photos of him while hospitalized. To our amazement, we were able to bring him home within just a day of having him admitted and got him to his oncology appointment with a decent energy and food in his belly so he was strong enough to start chemo for his stage 5 cancer. It has been four days since his first chemo treatment at the Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty (AVES) clinic and his appetite, energy and lymph node swelling is nearly back to normal. Thanks to this hospital and their staff, they gave him the chance at another 6-9 months of a happy, fulfilling and energetic life. Thank you so much!!

With a full heart, I want to thank an employee Jen Sells. Not only does she have excellent customer service skills but most importantly she has a beautiful heart. My experience here was short …. But let tell you in that short amount time i instantly knew my puppy was going to be alright.. and that all thanks to Jen Sells and Dr. Gutiérrez.Because of them my puppy is safe.I was able look at someone and know deep down they really love what they do. My cat Jesse was attacked by 4 wild dogs on June 10th. I tried to rush her to 3 different animal hospitals which all refused to take her due to one reason or another. VCA Becker was the only one that would take her right away even though they themselves were swamped. She had extensive damage and needed major surgery requiring over 30 staples and a drain. Unfortunately, two of the three wounds became infected even with following the treatment plan to a tee. Two weeks after the initial incident, she required hospitalization and some fast work by VCA staff to save her life once again. She made great progress but one wound just wasnt healing and needed further surgery for a wound revision.Dan Gilbert, clinic manager, worked very hard with me in helping with the overwhelming costs and even took some of the financial burden off of me. Whenever I needed to get Jesse seen for wound checks he made sure I did not have to wait and took control getting things done. It is few and far between to find such an outstanding manager like Dan in any profession now a days. Thank you again for all of your hard work and dedication as well as the staff and doctors in giving Jesse every chance possible to recover.I will forever be grateful for the compassion VCA animal hospital demonstrated throughout this whole ordeal!

My dog had intense abdominal pain at 3:30am on a Saturday. We called six different vets and everyone was either closed, turning patients away, or had a 5-8 hour wait just to be seen. Banfield had us in for an exam within two hours and in surgery less than three hours after that. They literally saved his life that night, and the cost was more reasonable than I was expecting. The building itself was very clean (I went in twice and the floor had been freshly mopped each time), and they have good Covid precautions in place.The doctor went over everything with me in great detail, and didn’t dumb anything down. I really appreciated having all the details so I could make an informed decision. I felt like my boy was in very capable hands and it eased my mind greatly after speaking with the surgeon. Demo is 100% better now and living his best life thanks to the vets and staff at Becker. I know how overworked everyone is right now, and they were all patient and kind with me even when I was in panic mode. I will be forever grateful to them for their care and dedication.

We are so thankful for this animal hospital being 24hrs. I took my Ollie in for possibly consuming sugar free gum. The staff and doctor was so thorough that we ended up accounting for all pieces gum. Saving us and him from unnecessary treatment. We will definitely be back for a checkup!

Took my small 🐕 for a cough she had. The DVM and staff were very helpful and attentive. The Vet explained everything in lamemens terms. I would take her back as long as I get the same DVM. DVM Michael Taylor was awesome. Thank you.

My chihuahua mix has mega-esophagus, a pretty rare eating disorder where she can easily aspirate food into her lungs. Its stressful to care for her and just very stressful for her all around. Twice, in the middle of the night (and on the weekend, of course) since she acquired the condition, she has aspirated food and needed emergency oxygen treatment. In spite of being busy with other emergencies, VCA Becker has gotten her in immediately and started oxygen. The staff! They are compassionate, nice people who respond to my stress and fear. They run an efficient front office, always offer encouragement and support, and seem to know when to talk to you and when not to talk to you. I highly recommend them. I am very grateful for their care. ...and I have to add that the cost of these emergency visits was VERY much less than I expected.

I cannot express how grateful I am that this hospital was open and the staff on hand was truly amazing. I had to come in unfortunately to put our old boy down. I had called to set up the visit while I was at work and they were very kind. I showed up after I got out of work around 2am. Our technician Ross was truly amazing and sympathetic. Everyone was so kind who we encountered throughout the evening. The doctor came in and administered the medicine to put our boy to rest, she was very kind as well. We had our time with our old boy to grieve him and Ross came in the room to check on us. He brought us prints of our old boys paws which was truly an appreciated gesture since we were having him cremated. I highly recommend this hospital. Everyone was truly amazing, especially Ross, he really made such a rough time less harsh with his kindness. Thank you Becker for being there for my family and taking care of our sweet boy until the very end.

I take my daughters dog to daycare almost every weekday and he loves it! I usually drop him off early before work, and i don’t know if the receptionists caffeine hasn’t kicked in but I am never greeted, I’m typically not even acknowledged. The only one who is always bright and attentive and gets him as soon as he is able to is Greg Sells, he should be thanked for such great customer service and such a great attitude even when he’s busy early in the morning.

We were introduced to this facility due to needing late night euthanasia services for our 16 year old German Pointer. Thank god they were 24 hours. My wife and I were so impressed we moved the regular vetting for our other 2 dogs here and are SO HAPPY we did. The doctors here are attentive, the staff is professional, and the space is open and clean. We have been very pleased with everything here.

Thoroughly impressed with Becker Animal Hospital. They provided us and our puppy with a safe haven during a frightening experience with the scourge that is Parvo. Highly competent and thoughtful, the treatment team put her on the pathway to recovery. Very grateful to Dr. Dhakal who quickly and astutely diagnosed her in the face of ambiguous symptoms as well as Melissa for her reassuring presence. Dr. Zuniga, Dan Gilbert, Roberto, Gabriel, Andrew were also particularly helpful.

Absolutely terrible!! I called to get my dog seen for a what I believed was a UTI and asked for a urinalysis to be performed. I was told I would be added to the wait list and called when it was time to come in. I specifically asked about being able to talk to the doctor WITH my pet and was assured I could do this. When I arrived at the clinic, a tech came out to ask me questions and took my dog in to be evaluated. I was not allowed in. The doctor calls me 45min later to tell me he thinks a urinalysis test should be done. YES...thats exactly what I asked for at the beginning. 30min later, the tech comes back out with a bill for me to sign authorizing services. 90min later, I go inside the clinic asking for an update on my pet. Im told that they still hadnt done the tests and when they did, I wouldnt have results today. Said she would be ready to go in 30min. That turned into another hour. This nightmare lasted 5 hours and 10min and I still have no answers. Now Im told it could take 2-3 days for test results. Whats the point of going to a 24hour clinic???? Misinformation...poor service...completely misleading from start to finish. I could have waited to see my regular vet during the week. I will not be back ever

The doctors and staff was amazing and they work with families who can’t afford the money and give the best care for your pets. Amazing I recommend anyone that has a pet that you care about as a family member and your family come to these people they are amazing trust me I had good results with my dog that they took care of it she’s doing so much better now.

I would recommend VCA Becker animal hospital because we went in on Saturday June 12, 2021 because my daughter took her orange Tabby kitten named Gigi to get seen by the Vet. The staff there are very kind and friendly. We met Jen and she was so kind and helpful. We did not have to wait long to get seen. She answered all our questions and concerns we had . She made us feel welcomed and treated Gigi so well. Thank you Jen for your awesome and kind help. Very professional.

This is the most expensive vet in town. If you dont care about money this is the perfect place to take your pet.My cat had two bites or abscesses. They came back with a treatment plan and an estimate between 1,800 and 2,300 and demanded payment up front before they would do anything.Luckily I gathered my senses, collected my cat, and told them I could go anywhere else and the cost couldnt be anything but better. Imagine how many people have elected to put their family pets down when they couldnt afford this highway robbery and were already emotional.The next reputable vet had a five-hour wait but came out and took a quick look at the cat and said he was not critical but did need to be seen to address infection. They did this at no charge.The next morning I was able to get the cat in at Callaghan Road Animal Hospital and they were fantastic. The original quote was as high as 2,300. I left Callaghan after paying 181.00 and the cat is doing great!

I stared out at another vet, after a 7 hour run around with them I left. I found Becker, who was upfront, honest and affordable. TAKE YOUR PETS ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!! I was in there for about 30 seconds before I was turned away. I explained my dog’s symptoms/behaviors and was told to come in the morning as it was not an emergency. I was given a list of other animal hospitals.I ended up coming to another animal hospital and my dog is currently getting prepped for an emergency surgery. I will never go to VCA Becker Animal Hospital ever again and you shouldn’t either.Very unprofessional and they need to do a better job with screening their patients. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I definitely recommend this clinic for emergency services. Called in at 12AM with concerns over fleas, Greg was the tech who answered and he was VERY HELPFUL! He told us to come in immediately and he would gladly help us as we are new to all of this. The service took about 15 minutes. They were very helpful with explaining what they did during the exam and the next steps we should take. In the end when we were checking out he gave us a goodie basket for our new kitten! Thank you again GREG!

VCA Becker Animal Hospital is AMAZING! I took in my cat Toothless for an emergency. Before the arriving, we called ahead and let them know we were coming in for Toothless and what his issues where. They took our information and made sure Toothless was stable and we didnt need to do anything. Upon arrive, it was fast and easy process. All the staff was wonderful.Front desk staff were friendly and very understanding. They always explained everything to me and answered my questions.The vet techs were awesome. Through Toothlesss care they updated me throughout the days he was there and very understanding when I had questions. They explained what everything was through treatment and what they needed/wanted to do. They worked with us when we felt overwhelmed and made us feel as through Toothless was loved and care for.Vet was great. He always explained what was going and what the plan was for treatment. He always had next step in case of anything. He would answer all questions and if not understood would explain in a different way so we could understand.We love this place! We have been to many different vet offices in SA and never felt as if we were important to them. VCA completely made us feel as if Toothless was a VIP and they wanted to make sure he was as health as he can be so we could take him home. I was able to visit him everyday he was there. I appreciated the front desk staff recognizing us every time we came in and was just as excited as we were to be sending Toothless home. They completely changed how we felt about vets in SA. VCA is a drive for us but so worth the drive for they treat you and your pet. If you love your fur babies this is the place for yall. Cant say enough good things about this place and staff.

Words cant express just how grateful I am for the unconditional love, quality of care, highest levels of professionalism and exceptional service provided by Becker Animal Hospital and Pet Resort. Ive been one of Beckers most loyal customers since December of 2011 shortly after rescuing my German Shepherd Dog, Axel, a.k.a. Axe who was abused by his previous owner and had a bad case of demodex mange.I recall our very first day at Becker Animal Hospital (BAH) in late December of 2011 when I first brought in Axe. We first met Dr. Mircea Volosen who welcomed Axe with open arms, provided Axe much comfort, and showed so much compassion to the two of us. Axe, of course, loved Dr. Volosen immediately as did I.Once Axe began his treatment for his mange, I decided to board him for the entire month of December. During that time, I was also introduced to Ms. Ronee Ross who was a new staff addition to BAH. Immediately, Axe loved her and bonded with her. I also found Ms. Ross to be impressive. Ms. Ross who is now the Director of the BAH Pet Resort was (and remains) one of the greatest assets to the company. Her knowledge, experience, love for all of her animals she oversees, and the excellent training she provides for her team shows just how dedicated she is. I was so pleased by this unmatched level of service, when I lived in San Antonio from 2011-2018, I brought Axe to BAH Dog Daycare every single day because I knew hed get the best level of service that I couldnt find elsewhere. BAH not only became a veterinary provider, they become our family! Axe also adores all of the pet resort staff members who shower him with love and kindness.in 2018, I moved to Houston and while I was unable to bring Axe every day like I had in past due to the long distance, I made every effort I could to drive from Houston to San Antonio several times a month just so Axe could be reunited with his dog family, Ms. Ross, Dr. Volosen, Dr. Li and so many others who love him. Each time Id drive into the BAH parking lot, Axe would start doing circles and jumping in the back seat of my car in a state of excitement because he loves his experiences and the staff at BAH. Also, around 2018, I met another talented veterinarian at BAH, Dr. Li, who has given Axe great acupuncture sessions which helped with his arthritis. Like Dr. Volosen, Dr. Li is a treasure. Axe loves him, too.In 2020 due to C-19, I halted many trips to San Antonio from my home in Houston due to the stay at home order, but during the Summer months, I boarded Axe for overnights/daycare when I started a new business to assist with the pandemic and knew that Axe would be in the best care at BAH. What I love most about the pet resort and vet staff at BAH is that they call me, text me, send photos of Axe and always keep me in the loop. They treat Axe just like they treat their own beloved pets.Most recently, I decided to travel back to BAH to get Axe a dental, physical, and caught up with vaccines. I knew my request was a bit last minute since I had inquired about boarding Axe with the option of daycare along with his medical treatments. I had spoken once again with Ms. Ronee Ross and she went above and beyond to accommodate me beyond her duties along with Jackie, Ariel, and Nori. In fact, she was about to leave for work, but had stayed over to ensure that Axe had everything he needed. In addition, I was touched to learn that the pet resort was photographing daycare dogs for their back to school portraits. These small gestures are always unexpected, but they melt my heart. Ms. Ross is like the energizer bunny, shes the most hard-working person Ive ever met and she loves all of her animals. VCA is lucky to have her.Last night, Axe had his dental procedure and several vet/staff members including Ms. Ross, Joel, Dr. Volosen, Gabriel, Jenn S. and Greg S., reached out to me to give me several updates. This is a reflection of the highest level of professionalism and quality of care theyve given to Axe since 2011. Theyre officially part of my family and Axe and I love everyone at BAH.

Emergency vet care is very tricky. I live fairly far from Becker Animal Hospital, but I ended up there because 3 other emergency clinics near me (including the one I went to the previous evening) were not taking any more emergency pets. I was beside myself with worry that my cat would not make it while Im trying to find someone to treat him.The absolute BEST thing that happened is I ended up at Becker!! The staff was warm and friendly, and my pet was taken into the clinic in 10 minutes. And they never asked me to pay up front before they would help me - very refreshing after my experience at other emergency clinics in town!! I would have definitely paid up front, as I know going to an emergency clinic its going to be expensive, but I appreciate more than words can express that the staff seemed to actually care about my cat more than my credit card. It gave me confidence that they were actually going to take care of my sick cat. The other wonderful and fabulous perk they actually allow you to use the restroom and have a snack and drink machine you can take advantage of. This was service, folks! Were we there a long time? Sure. All night - literally. But it was a great experience. Becker Animal Hospital treated me like a customer instead of an inconvenience, didnt put me through long check-in procedures and made me feel welcome at their place of business. You all get an A+++

I recently brought my dog to this clinic after she ate some raisins. I spoke with a young woman named Cat who is extremely nice, knowledgeable, and caring. Because of Cat’s ability to provide me knowledgeable and concise information about a treatment plan for my dog I was able to make the most informed decision possible. I have my dog today because of Cat’s kind words, and calming demeanor on the phone. She is the reason I chose this clinic. Upon arrival I was greeted promptly even though it was after 10pm, and my dog was taken right to the exam room. I met with the doctor and veterinary technician who were very nice and they provided me loads of information about the possibilities and potential outcomes surrounding my dogs toxic ingestion. Over the next 24 hours my dog remained hospitalized at Becker and the staff did an incredible job of giving me updates and cost of the therapies and treatments they provided. I am grateful for Cat, and all of the staff, doctors, and team at Becker animal hospital. Thank you all, and God bless! ///AT

The entire staff was incredibly helpful, saved our puppy a year ago & are now saving her puppy as well. No matter how busy they are, they made time to talk to us personally & answer all questions we had about our fur*babies. Prices are incredibly affordable, their Care Club Membership is amazing & helps save us a ton of money & Care Credit helped cover the cost of the blood transfusion our fur*baby needed when she was a pup herself. We are so grateful for the VCA Becker Animal Hospital & will continue to bring all of our fur*babies to them in the future.

Took my fur baby on Friday cause he was vomiting and wasnt eating just so the vet would tell me there wasnt anything wrong with him. No tests were done not even lab work or any medication was given but was charged $75.00 just to tell me oh nothing is wrong with him. Thankfully my baby is doing better but definitely taking him some where else. The prices are ridiculous from $500-$1,400 for any lab work, scanning, IV, medications or other procedures.

I came here a few years ago and it was awful I didn’t think I’d ever return. However, Rudy, Amanda, Cory, Natalie and Dr. Ziegler were all so nice, caring, polite, informative, and attentive. I’m glad Becker is open 24 hours I don’t know what I’d do without them.

There are good vets, great vets, and then there is Becker! Tonight my kitty had an emergency and my regular emergency vet was closed. I drove to the next nearest hospital just to be turned away stating they were at max capacity! The place they told me to go next I called ahead - I was told I would wait 3/4 hours and HAD to wait IN MY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT. This definitely wasn’t an option my kitty was crying in distress. I googled 24 hour vets and found Becker. I told them the issue and they immediately deemed it an emergency told me to head over and that I would be seen by a vet very soon and even got our info over the phone to save precious time when we arrived. When we arrived I called and was told to bring her to the door and a staff member would come get her for vitals, it happened to be the client service manager Daniel. He was extremely friendly and calm in a very distressing situation and took my baby back immediately, even gave me a bottled water while I waited. I knew she was in great hands with the staff here! The lobby was very clean and there was several staff both coming and going getting pets from their parents in the front and manning the desks. Nobody seemed to wait around too long without being attended to! When it came time to check out Daniel was very helpful with discharge instructions and made sure I knew where to follow up if needed. I know who my new ER is for sure!!!! THANK YOU BECKER A+++++

Having had my dog here for a year on the Care Club membership and my cats here a couple times, I officially have a review. The quality control in staffing is VERY poor. There a a few sweet vet techs but every vet and front desk staff Ive interacted with have been pretty unfriendly and straight up rude. They will always try to make you buy way more than the pet needs and make you by hundreds of dollars worth of preventative medication that they may or may not actually need. They do not have the pet or client in mind WHATSOEVER. Do not bother with the Care Club membership. Its a huge waste of money.Do your best to find a smaller vet that is not a chain. Make sure they are willing to work with you and your pet to get what they actually need for the best price and quality possible.VCA is always way too busy to give quality attention and actually care about your pet and is OVERPRICED. Read EVERYTHING. Almost every time Ive been in there, Ive caught them trying to charge me for something I didnt get or already paid for.If youre looking for a good alternative, Babcock Hills Veterinary Hospital has been very good with my pets and does their best to genuinely care for your pet and work with your budget.

This evening I called about getting reservations made for my fur babies. I had the pleasure of speaking with DJ, she was absolutely amazing, she went above and beyond with helping me on getting the quotes I needed on each of my pets. She does delivery a service with a smile over the phone and you can tell she enjoys what she does. Ronee is the ultimate employee as well, she loves all your fur babies and wants nothing best for them all. I think they need to be recognized for the wonderful service that they give and if I could I would request them to help me all the time.

My dog Renji caught another one of my dogs tooth to his snout and it cut him pretty badly….we couldn’t find a place to go and I found these awesome people. I ran my dog into the hospital with blood all over me they took him right away. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to an establishment that still actually cares about animals and not just about money! They did what needed to be done in a very short amount of time, very professionally too. They didn’t charge an insane amount and they were all very supportive and kind! I will only take my pets here from now on! Thank you so much for what you do!

After taking my dog to another vet and his situation worsening we rushed him to VCA Becker. They understood the urgency we had and took every effort to save our baby. Unfortunately it was too late for him and he sadly passed but the amount of care and compassion VCA Becker showed was outstanding. Gabe was so soft spoken and gentle with our situation and grief. Through the hardest part he showed professionalism and compassion.

I had a good experience boarding my pup here. I arrived spontaneously and was given a tour of the resort by the resort manager, Ronee. She was very nice, explained everything to me, and showed me around. It was very clear that she cares deeply for the animals and what she does! The facility and kennels/suites were very clean and orderly, and the supplies all appeared very organized with plenty of staff around. Ronee then helped set me up with a luxury suite for my pup and got everything all set for me. It was my first time boarding as I just moved to Texas, and she made sure everything was all set for me and my pup! There were a few miscommunications initially when I booked, but I explained everything to her and she cleared everything right up.As for the stay, drop off and pick up was very easy! My pup had a great time and I felt very secure knowing she was in good hands! Only posting four stars because I wish there was a way I could get updates/pictures during my pup’s stay. Besides that, an all around great experience and will use VCA Becker Resort if needed in the future!

I can’t say thank you enough. These kind people took my Pup Lando in yesterday during a busy holiday weekend even though they were at capacity. They worked him in, assessed his condition and made sure he had the medication and treatment he needed and monitored him all day and night as i was trying to get home from working 3 hours away. They were so understanding of the terrible bind we were in and helped us after we had made several calls around the area to find an emergency vet. Thank you!

My fiancé and I brought our kitten Jimmy for the first time in the event of a crisis. He was lateral and literally dying. The Doctors told us that they didn’t believe he would make it even through hospitalization but despite that, they respected our wishes to NOT euthanize him and hospitalized him. Even with how hopeless this case was, they still did their absolute best for our kitten and we couldn’t be more proud! They even let us call every 3 hrs to get updates on his condition. In 24 hrs our kitten is walking and eating/drinking on his own. The technician Joel was AMAZING! He was EXTREMELY informative, helpful, & caring to our kitten and answered our many questions. I highly recommend him to any pet owner out there. Thank you Joel and Becker Animal Hospital Team!

A huge misunderstanding happened today. I had to put my dog down. My very first dog..actually my daughters dog. He was a puppy. The miscommunication happened from a price quote over the phone to the actual price. Long story short..Solomon H..He made an amazing judgement call and took care of me and my daughter...A horrible day was rectified by his empathy..And most likely his enduring sympathy..I just know that when we get another dog this will be my go to..And Alexis...She took an earful from me but maintained as a complete professional ..I thank them for understanding and getting me through a very horrible day

1st and most important my cat was enjoying the rain and was attacked by a neighbors dog. My cat Garfield & his his wife Smokey lost their baby R.I.P. Smokey Junior May 11, 2021. I rushed my cat yesterday & was seen immediately. Unfortunately my cat had to much internal bleeding & didnt make it. The staff was caring and took my angel in Right away. My cat is being held for cremation services. I bring all my pets here. The staff and doctors always have great attention to detail. They do extremely well with all the pressure of being an extremely busy clinic. There are times when it takes longer but a little patience goes along way when you put yourself in someone elses shoes. Last Sunday 03-14-21 we took our puppy to VCA Becker because he didnt look good, he was trembling, crying.. his paws were dry..I told them that he may had Distemper or Parvo and They told me he was fine but he wasnt.They should have admitted him and take care of him and they didnt. how is that possible?It is supposed that you are the experts and you do not even know the symptoms, I told the nurse that the appearance of his paws was not normal and she told me that she had never heard of it, well known that it is one of the symptoms of distemper. You just sent him home to die.We took him to Churchill Veterinary Hospital the next morning (monday) and they told us right away the diagnostic.He passed away yesterday (Tuesday)You guys charged us for a test/exam to get results in a week, and schedule an appointment in 14 days,, What????I do not need the results of the tests that you sent to the lab. results that will be ready two weeks later, really? they werent necessary it was obvious that he was sick.It seems that you are only interested in charging unnecessary fees..I will never recommend your services to anyone..Cocoblue you will be in our hearts forever!You will be missed!

So, I walked in with my furbaby and was told they were full. One of the receptionist gave me info for two other vet hospitals to call. Then an employee came and got me in the parking lot right before I left because a spot had opened up. The staff and vet were kind and courteous. Mollie came down with Parvo earlier this month and we were doing at home treatments but it wasnt enough, she got very lethargic and dehydrated. I took her late Sunday night and she was seen by Beckers staff as soon as possible. Dr Arrington was great, he answered every single question i had and assured me Mollie was in the best care. She stayed two nights she had around the clock constant attention and care which i absolutley loved because she was always being monitored and I must have called every two hours for updates on her and the staff here was so nice and patient and answered my calls/questions very quickly. Within a couple hours of staying here Mollie was already feeling better, she was more alert and jumpy like she usually is. Even with covid putting restrictions on who could enter the clinic i was still allowed to see Mollie and visit with her as long as i wanted to. They got her to eat on her own before she came home. I believe Dr Arrington and the great staff here saved Mollies life and im more than happy i brought her here. Thanks to everyone here Mollie is back to her old self being hyper and happy.

Becker saved my sweet teacup poodle, Pippa, when she experienced a hemorrhage in her stomach. They were so loving to her and they always took pictures and sent them to me. All the doctors and staff were so kind and really fell in love with her. For something so traumatic for Pippa and me, they calmed both of us and took the greatest of care. VCA Becker deserves a 5 star and more on my end!! I am so happy with the service I received! My 3 month old puppy Max was hit by a car and we decided to go to an emergency hospital since my vet was closed. The moment my husband and I walked in Max was taken in. I saw reviews that we would have to wait hours to be seen but thank God that was not my case! Max did stay overnight, but I was getting calls from the hospital just to let me know how he was doing and keeping me updated which made me feel so much better! I just want to thank VCA Becker for the service we received! After 3 weeks Max is a normal puppy and you would never know he had an accident! We hope we don’t have to visit again but if the situation does come we will make sure to come back here.

My dog had surgery then they told me to bring the dog for follow up without any appointment. Now after three days as they suggested, I have to make an appointment and all the appointments are available until next week! Really? When my dog needs to be check out in case of any infection! Shame on the staff that doesn’t care about the animals in here mostly care about charge extremely amount of money with no empathy at all. Who does that? I’m a pet lover and this is totally unacceptable. One star it’s not even fair for the customer service in here. Definitely they need customer service skills training to treat better our pets such the customers as well. Thumbs down for this location!

My little chihuahua had Parvo 4 weeks ago, after paying out 2k for her to get better. I took her home she was doing better. Then last Saturday she starting getting sick again. I have my other dogs on the Care Club and have payment arrangements for one of them. The doctor refused to see my puppy until I pay the whole amount of my other dog. Really I had just paid them 2k I did tell them I had payment arrangements the doctor said no. I really thought these were different doctors but its all about money to this vet. I took my cat there on 4/1/21 thinking she has eaten something that was causing a blockage. Dr Ziegler and Athena took my baby to the back to examine her condition while Bradley walked me through the paperwork. This hospital is very professional, calm, and clean! Dr Ziegler and Athena kept me informed during the entire visit. When my baby came back to the car she was calm and not stressed. I will continue to receive care at this hospital for fur babies! If I could give 0 stars I would, these people are completely inept. The staff is disorganized, you can’t get an appointment without waiting for hours, you call and get placed on hold 5 times, and yet they still don’t know what you’re calling about. Our pets come back from kenneling dirty, bleeding, with rashes. They misdiagnosed my dog and almost killed her, they often have no clue what is happening or why you’re there. They charged me $2000.00 to give no answers whatsoever. I would not be surprised if they are responsible for killing pets on a daily basis. Please, please, do not take your babies here.

Find any other place to go. Over multiple visits, they consistently give most severe diagnosis and the most expensive treatment.Quoted me an over $3,000, multi-day surgery for my cat when I got it done at an amazing surgeon in Austin in one day for less than half.They also employ a veterinarian who was found guilty of beating 2 dogs to death, so thats cool.VCA is a great organization tainted by this terrible establishment.

Our new puppy got into a little scuffle and had an abscess form on his face. The doctor was able to give as much care as possible within my budget and our puppy was able to heal and get back to himself. I was sent home with medication, instructions, and they even followed up to see how he was doing. Im very happy with the care.

I was here on a Saturday. It was ridiculously busy. However, every single staff member was always on the move, answering calls, walking dogs, filling medical bags, etc., and STILL SMILING while getting screamed at by impatient people, who think the job of an animal specialist should be easy. Not a single person who came in said anything positive to the staff. That made me so mad. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT THE VCA FOR YOUR AMAZING JOB ON EVERY ANIMAL!!! People dont realize the care it takes, until its their animal in need. A good vet will take time to make sure every pet is taken care of equally. That is exactly what they did. Was there a long delay in time? Of course! Every other animal hospital is packed as well. I have 3 indoor cats and 8 outdoor cats. i very sadly lost one of my fur babies a month ago in an emergency surgery and Kat and Edgar were so accommodating and caring. they made a painful experience tolerable and were so amazing while my husband and i grieved for our kitty. we also brought one of our strays in for care and they treated us with the same kindness and compassion. luckily this kitty came home to me happy and treated. i will always come back to Becker, specifically for them.

I dont typically write reviews but VCA really needs to get a better system in place for people trying to use your services. I checked in last night at 6:00 pm and was told it was going to be a 5 hour wait. If I wanted, I could be put on a waitlist, go home, and then they would call when it was closer to time. So I did just that; however, I never heard back from them or received a call. I understand, maybe a lot of emergencies came in last night but please communicate this to your customers so I know to try again the next day. I called this morning to see what happened and the front desk blatantly lied to my face stating they tried calling me but I didnt answer. A simple apology for forgetting/not calling because things got busy would have sufficed, but do not place blame on me for your lack of communication.

Brought my dog in tonight to be seen.l, she was experiencing some labor issues at home so I decided to call my nearest animal hospital which is Becker the first person I spoke with was Sydney we talked briefly about my situation with Luna and recommended I come in. Upon arrival I was greeted by Sydney at check in Dr Brown and her technician Kiara. I was kept in the loop about Luna’s condition and was informed that a C Sec was going to be her best option. The service was very prompt and my wait time was not long at all. The ladies at the front desk that helped me out were amazing in particular Jen she was very welcoming and personable. Only giving two stars because my dog was eventually taken care of after being attacked by another dog. We came the next day to pick her up just to wait in our car for two hours. The staff is very kind but seem to be way understaffed. The person at the front told us the only person who could release our dog to us was dealing with emergencies. I understand that there are emergencies bur at least have more than one person on site to deal with them. The staff are all very helpful, but charging the amount they do with how understaffed they seem to be is insane.

Don’t come here they don’t care about our pets. They don’t take the time to explain anything or show like they are truly interested in making your pet feel better. They put you on hold just to ask the same question they asked before you were placed on hold and they just want to do what’s easiest for them even if it costs you more money. I don’t think they know how to really work with animals because they don’t try to make the animal feel safe or trust them. They automatically want to muzzle and sedate. A little friendliness goes a long way. I guess they don’t teach that at vet school. Anyway, go somewhere else where they will treat your pet better and save you money here you are just paying for their building and student loans. They don’t care they are more worried about decorating than the quality they are providing.

I have been boarding my French bulldog at the pet resort for the last 3 years. We never had any issues. Pricing was high, but she was always in a suite, had play time twice a day, and got a bath with a nail trim and file every time. We always received pics of playtime and felt secure while we were away that our baby was being taken care of... This time, we received a call, that she was being too rambunctious and busted a toenail and had to be taken to the vet on day two. We did not get any pics. She got home and nails were not filed. Im not confident she got her playtime or that she was paid any attention to as she seems completely traumatized. Since shes been home she wont eat, she peed in our house (shes completely house broken), and she is so clingy. Something happened. She cannot speak and we are obviously not going to be told by the facility, but I just know something is not right. The worst part is, we paid $385 for my baby to basically be broken. She will not be going back there ever again. I just wish I knew what happened. I would think twice before leaving your babies here. The cameras dont work for a reason. Pay attention.**Edit:First, when responding to this type of review, I would think you would address me formally rather than by my first name. Second, I did email and received no response. And lastly, the minor injury received by my dog while in your care is now completely infected and now needs to be attended to by a real vet. It was passed off as no big deal and her fault. If she was receiving the play time I paid for, you would think an injury would be monitored for the 4 days she was in your care. There is absolutely nothing you can say to correct this matter at this point.**Edit:I have to say, I did get a response from the Pet Resort manager and she was very apologetic and empathetic. I have never had an issue with her. I also received a call from Maggie. She was also apologetic. She even reimbursed our stay for the time Lucy spent at the resort. I am grateful for the attempt to make things right. However, something did happen with my dog during her stay, and this does not condone that. I will not return to Becker, but am grateful for their attempt to rectify the situation. I only hope they pay close attention to their staff and that this does not happen to any other fur babies.

Took my dog to their facility for labored breathing. Got to facility at 2:00 am and was told to wait outside until dog could be seen. Dog was not seen until almost 7 am. I continued to ask if I should wait - and they said yes, I had to wait. They ran a ton of test and indicated he must have asthma which was causing his labored breathing. $1200 later and diagnosis is Asthma. Less than 24 hours later, exact same symptoms only worst in terms of breathing. This time, 2 hour wait and they finally said they would keep him overnight on oxygen. I had to agree to services in order for them to continue to care for him. They recommended to run a lot of test to determine what was causing this... fast forward to 12 hours later .... diagnosis anxiety. Bill - $1400. I asked if there was any assistance given that I was just seen less than 12 hours earlier. - nope - new appt and no relation to past appt. (ridiculous!). Last appt was Sunday, so Monday took him to our normal vet. They immediately put him on oxyen - OPENED his mouth, looked under his tongue and say that he has a HUGE cancerous tumor blocking his throat. We put him down later that day. Now, I ask you - WHY IN THE HELL wasnt the first thing Becker look at when a dog is having difficulty breathing. They ran all these xrays but never on his throat. We are out $2600 from the horrible care at Becker. Our vet $80. My recommendation DO NOT USE THEM.

I want to say thank you to all of the staff here at Becker Animal Hospital. I have a very energetic Doberman who also doesn’t like strangers, they are always so kind when taking him and muzzling him. I want to specifically say thank you to Dr. Brown and technician Yesenia for taking care of my boy, Koba. He went in Friday for a swollen leg and unknown lumps beginning to form on his side stomach area, Yesenia took him right away and got him to see Dr. Brown. Yesenia and Dr. Brown were VERY informative, kind, and professional. They had to perform a surgery on him where they cut his leg open and drained out all of the yucky stuff that was in his leg. He still has tubes in his leg post surgery for draining and will have them taken out in a week or so. He is recovering from surgery great so far, the swelling has gone down 100% and he is full of life and energy, as he was before. I also want to say thank you for being so considerate of my money situation. I don’t know what I would’ve done without y’all!

A chain dragging along the ground, running, determined, emaciated, shed escaped. But it was Saturday night and no one would help us. No one, that is, until we found Becker Animal Hospital and Pet Resort.Effective/efficient hospital triage alleviated the immediate danger. Her medical treatment continued as she transitioned to the pet resort. Or, in this case, extreme pet recovery.The transformation is startling. She gained over ten pounds. Her fur grew back. The scabs have healed. Her coat gleams.. I dont know how they did it - a combination of professionalism and love, surely. She freed herself from her abuser but Becker freed her from the physical damage he caused. They gave her the ability to access a future of love and happiness from a past of abuse and neglect.She is currently traveling to Tennessee to live with a trusted relation. She will have a huge yard, unfettered access to the house and, most importantly, a family who will love and care for her.Life is often cruel. This is a happy ending. Freedom is free. Waste of time , suppose to be a “emergency hospital” what kind of emergency place doesn’t take new pets at all in an emergency ?! Went there when my pup was in distress and bleeding! They turned us away and said “she is fine” we drove 15 minutes because they said they would take her in. Bull! They said they would have a doctor look at her. Our foster dog ate a sock at 1am. We read up about this online and I called VCA Becker’s. Greg answered the phone and was extremely polite and professional. He talked to the Dr and told me they recommended bringing him in to induce vomiting to see if he could rid himself of the sock before it caused an intestinal obstruction. Everyone we came in contact with was kind and professional. Dr. Arrington and Ursula took great care of him and called/texted me with frequent updates. Dr. Arrington even texted this morning to check on him. Vinny (the dog) has had a rough go at life and didn’t need more problems. I highly recommend this vet office! Also-he got the sock up.😏

My cat suddenly started acting sick last week, but my vet didnt have any appointments open and sent me to VCA becker. i had to be put on a wait list that ended up being much longer than expected (not their fault obviously, they are an emergency clinic after all!) but when they did have time for me to take my cat in, everyone there was very kind and understanding! they figured out what was wrong with him fairly quickly with the help of a radiologist, and had to keep him for 12 hours. they texted me updates and even a picture of him while he was there, which made me feel a lot less nervous about everything! they explained all of the costs, what different options for his care were, and what they recommended very well. thankfully hes been on the up and up ever since he got home, and now hes almost completely back to his normal self. so far, Becker is my favorite emergency vet that ive been to in San Antonio.

My sister and I brought her dog over because she was very ill. They were fast about taking her in and getting her started on IV but no one told us we had to pay in order for them to do more tests so waited outside for 3 hours for them to tell us we need to pay for us to find out the results. We were a little frustrated but we proceeded with the payment and moved on. They said they would call us in 20 minutes for test results. No we had to call them hour and half later to ask. Then she said she will give us a call about her treatment and more information about our dog. Nothing so we called again and was put on hold for hour and half. We were very dissapointed and frustarted because no one was communicating with us about her dog. Finally at 10 at night they say her dog is ready to be picked up and we get there not too long after 10. We didnt get her until 2 in the morning. i suggest not to come here and find another place to go to.

This place is a life savor!! I needed to get my cats Into the vet ASAP because they contracted tapeworms and I tried calling multiple different places that couldn’t get me in for months, VCA Becker got me in very fast and took care of my kitties! My family was also here from out of town with their two dogs and were worried about the dogs getting worms too and not being able to get them treated until they got home. Dan overheard our conversation and offered to get us in the same day to get the dogs treated and he only charged us for one dog but treated both!! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and you could definitely tell they love animals, they were very sweet and gentle to our fur babies. I will definitely be making them my go to vet!!

I brought in my newborn kitten due to being born without a tail, having an odd growth on their back, and being premature. I called in advance, I called when I got there, and I was told to wait for an hour and 15 minutes. After that time passed the nurse told us there was as opening where they could WAIT inside as the waiting time got extended. I said no due to being uncomfortable with putting newborns and a new mom into a loud animal hospital without me.They said that was fine but didnt bother to tell me how long the wait was extended, then left us to wait in the car where we wait another whole hour and a half before leaving for the health and comfort of our cats.I understand this is an emergency animal hospital and that I might not have had an immediate emergency, but the lack of communication was very unprofessional. It wasnt until we received a call at 2:30 am that we realized they hadnt forgotten about us and just expected up to wait in the parking lot without notice for 7 hours. My kitten died last night and I was at least hoping that we could try all we could before it got to this point where Im telling my son our cat had 3 kittens and not 4.TLDR; helpful over the phone, not in person. Lack of communication is the main problem.

Jen was awesome!!!! Had an issue with my dog and fleas. She took complete care of not only our pet but kept us from panicking as well. She explained in detail what to do and followed up with us. Amazing is an understatement.

God bless every single staff member at this hospital. I went in on an EXTREMELY low budget around 9pm on Saturday night due to the fact my dog Sadie was very ill.. they helped us in ways I can’t even begin to thank them for. Sadie is now 2 days later back to loving hyper self. ❤️ I will forever recommend coming here!!!

Our Rottweiler developed what appeared to be a bite on her lip. After calling all over town to be seen by a vet, and being told by the two emergency facilities they were TOO FULL to see us, we called Becker. We got right in, the doctors were able to see her. The care was professional, honest, and we are happy we found you.

My dog passed away due to poor skills and one not checking on her wound as one should have seen how much blood was coming out when they put her in truck and on the bed she was on before it. No owner should see they amount that came out . Before she was given back to us after a few mins of being home just be taken back and pass. A dog should be kept after surgery and kept till they positive she was okay.Talking to a person Friday but talking to a person wont bring back my dog will it

Took my kitten to them as she seemed very sick and had open sores. The team was nice, but no one told me anything about what was found wrong with the kitten or that there was a high chance of her dying. I paid almost $200 on a treatment plan that did nothing for something that was most likely more serious than they even checked and on kitten formula I was never given because they ran out. I feel scammed out of money. My kitten died 2 days after the visit and after they made it seem like she was going to be okay with the treatment plan. To say Im upset is beyond an understatement.

My family was in a very emotional situation this weekend, having to make the decision to put to sleep a beloved pet family member. The tech I worked with Michala (Sorry if I misspelled it ) and the Doctor who i believe was Indian (not pictured on the website, I looked for his name ) were both very caring and empathetic. They allowed us time outside on a blanket with my daughter and 2 of my other dogs to say our goodbyes, I held her and talked to her during her final breath. They get 5 stars in my book .

Was tricked into a contract when I was told it was month to month in 2019. I learned that when they were automatically taking out money from my account using the card I initially used for the first visit. When I called to let them know that I was upset and that it was very unprofessional to lie to there customers they became very smug and cold. I knew Mr Becker a while back when he saved my Pet from dying. He would be very disappointed in the way I was treated. Please( READ )be very careful when entering into a contract. If they tell you its month to month you pay as you go this is a lie. Do not believe them. After all this I was told well you signed it YES I did thinking I could trust you people.

They tell you to arrive at a certain time but then you end up waiting for an hour and a half just to admit the pet. Why say come over now if theyre just gonna make us wait in the car? They need to figure things out. What workload they can handle, prioritize processing and dont lie about times.

The quality of care and support my family received from Becker Animal Boarding was phenomenal. My pup, Chloe, has severe separation anxiety and is very anxious and fearful of other people and dogs. The facility director, Ronee, and the staff went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure Chloe had a GREAT boarding experience. The regular updates I received were welcomed. Definitely recommend this place! I have taken my dog to several other vets over the years and it’s hard to find a place that prioritizes the needs of both the pet and their owner the way that they do here. You can tell that the staff genuinely cares about the animals they treat and gives lots of love to all the pets that come in :)

Chewy was diagnosed with LS and it caused him to lose feelings in his back legs. Having no pet insurance, surgery was estimated at $7k+ However, Dr. Li was able to perform acupuncture treatments. With that and the aid of natural herbs, Chewy is back on his feet! This all happened out of the blue, so I would highly recommend getting pet insurance if you have not done so already. However, I am very pleased in the work that Dr. Li has provided. He checks on Chewy constantly and is very knowledgeable when it comes to this kind of treatment.

I waited from 7am in the morning on the waiting list and I am a very patient person.It was emergency as well. My poor dog been pooping blood and I am very concern. Just wait 12 hours on the waiting but they called me at 7pm to get her ASAP telling me they gunna come get her and I even check in. I called twice and no one answer the office. I understand business can get busy at anytime. It been a 2 hours later and still haven’t came out or anything. This is very unacceptable and not professional. I will never go here again! Waited a full 14 to 15 hours to get ignored. Smh! Very disappointing!
