After having my Toyota SUV at another shop and having the issue not solved, this shop was a relief. They are very detailed in their work. They inspected my vehicle and sent me photos of what needed attention. They left it up to me to fix what I wanted. They have the equipment needed to troubleshoot failing parts and program the new ones that require it.They are very professional and Im glad I found them.

Ive gotten my oil changed here a couple times and both times were easy to schedule and get my car in and out. I will continue to use them because of their professional manner that they helped me with my car. Plus they are very knowledgeable about my Volvo so its like taking it to the dealer without paying the dealer price$$$

Got a pre-purchase inspection. Very detailed in the report and service, gave advice on how to present the information to the dealer. Also, since they knew we were from out of town, they offered to squeeze us in if we needed another car looked at that day last minute.

The best automotive repair place Ive ever been to. I brought my car in for a specific problem, plus a general inspection. The did their inspection and sent me a link which provided any issues broken out by urgent attention, future attention, good, tires. Plus they send a link where you can approve or disapprove any/all the repair options. Super easy to use, and they are very helpful if you just want to call and let them know what to do, you dont have to use the web option. Overall, Im very pleased and probably going to them for all my future needs.

I contacted Ewing Automotive for my 2010 Volvo XC60 after having a very bad experience with Principle Volvo. Hands down from the moment I called in I was greeted and spoken to very professionally. Michael was the representative who took my service order and asked me to bring the car in right away. As promised the diagnosis was done promptly, and a follow up call letting me know the underlining issue was an ignition coil. Michael thoroughly went over the quote with me, he explained the initial cost and how soon the car would be ready. Overall, experience was top notch. Mike walked me through the process and made sure I was clear on the work that needed to be done, what needed to be done right away and what could wait. The inspection was thorough and included pictures of the places that needed repairs. The work was done in good time and the price was less than at other places. Ewing automotive is by far the best auto shop I have ever been to. They go above and beyond to help! Michael even went ahead and cleaned up my old inspection sticker that NJ did a horrible job at removing. After that, he saw my sunroof seal was messed up so I explained that it is expensive to fix which is why I have not done it. Michael and another man from the shop worked to temporarily fix the seal (until I can get it fixed) to prevent it from getting worse, without me even asking and with no charge. They are honest, quick and even gave my car a wash before I picked it up. I am really sad to be moving away from such a great shop since great mechanics are hard to find. This should be your go to shop!! They are professional, extremely nice and honest!!

I recently moved to San Antonio from Wisconsin, and I had no idea where to go when my car was on the side of the road not going anymore. I started to look for automotive places near me, and I called Ewing to see if they accepted my warranty. They answered and were very professional and nice and once they told me my warranty was accepted I got towed there. They worked calling my warranty and made sure everything was settled. I wasn’t sure how long it would take but I got my car fixed in only 3 days, and that’s including waiting for parts to arrive! They even stayed after hours just to work on my car when the parts arrived to make sure I would get it as soon as possible and not have to go another day with not having a car. I am beyond happy I came across there place!

Took my car in with thinking that my a/c compressor was going out and was prepared to spend a lot of money. They determined that it was the radiator/condenser fans causing the vibration which saved me over $800. This is definitely my go to shop and will recommend it to anyone. Thanks again guys.

Just took in my 08 VolvoXC90 on after a loud noise started to come from engine. Was able to figure out what it was. Took car in and they confirmed what I had thought the issue was plus also fixed a small hose leak. I blew a brake line on a cross-country road trip. I limped it to these guys and they fit me in that day. The employees and owner were very professional and easy to talk to. The price was a pretty steep compared to back home, but I had an emergency fix and a short timeline in which I needed it done. My motor blew before I made it home from my trip, so I guess the expensive brake line fix is the least of my worries haha

I brought my 2014 Subaru Outback to this shop for the first time this week. The customer service is incredible; the owner, Jason Ewing, and his second-hand man, Michael Poehler, are incredibly kind and run an honest business. Michael went out of his way to shuttle me to a nearby coffeeshop to get work done. Their system for reviewing inspection recommendations is top-of-the-line; they take pictures of everything, and its accessible online with all itemized prices listed. Very transparent. I had a fantastic first experience with these guys. Found them on reddit where other customers were raving. I spent an hour or so in their waiting room, and the relationship they have with their customers were authentic and committed--the proof is in the pudding there. Cant recommend enough!

As a woman who knows little about her car, they are very patient when explaining what my car needs repaired to be safe, what is a priority to fix, and whst can wait for a bit before being addressed. Ive been taking my Volvo to Johnnys for over a decade, and have never been less than pleased with their service. These are good people and experienced mechanics; they are part of an informal network of Volvo specialists that trade expertise to stay on top of their game. Now that they service Lexus & Toyota as well, I feel that I can shop those brands knowing that whichever type I buy, they will be taken care of properly.

I visited with Jason about some car trouble and I could tell he was honest and not just trying to make a buck. Other mechanics had just quoted these outrageous amounts without even physically looking at the car. Jason briefly looked at it because I just stopped by but said hed like to drive it around a little bit to be sure what the problem was so he could make an accurate quote. I really appreciated his approach and his integrity. Will use in the future.

A couple years ago Jason replaced head gaskets on my 2003 Subaru forester, 40,000 miles later still going strong. I had my brakes worked on and he replaced a abs pump that was bad and I stop on a dime now. I had replaced my power steering pump and rack and they did a alignment on the newest up to date alignment machine in the area. the wheel balance is done properly I have them rebalance tires when I get a new set because they balance them correctly. it doesnt feel like somebody is bouncing a basketball in the car. They fit me in and got me going out promptly and texted me when the car was done. great team.

First-rate repair! Took my daughters 98 S70 to get it ready for going off to college. Explained to Shaun that I mainly wanted to make sure it was dependable. He went over the car and made a comprehensive list of things that needed repaired and things that were broken but could wait a bit. Very professional, and he even punted out that many of the things i could do myself.

Johnnys is still great!Used to be owned by an older couple about 2-3 yrs. ago That old couple ran this auto shop for decades Ive heard. Those people were kind, honest and did good work. The new owners (Jason, I think?) are also good at what they do, dont overcharge & you dont feel taken advantage of as many other auto places in town will do. All these google reviews are true! Theyve always done good work on my XC60 and they are even certified to do Toyota & Lexus (and Subaru, I think?) in addition to their specialty of Volvos! The cost is significantly less than the dealerships, which helps anyones pocketbook :)People feel safe, not swindled. Im new to Texas and was terrified to look for a new mechanic. After trying a few different shops and mechanics I found Jason Ewing at Ewing Automotive. Jason is fantastic!
