I have used other accountants who are expensive, don’t really listen, or both. Brian Huber at Ray CPA has been helpful to me for personal taxes first, then to help me make plans for a new corporation. I liked the way he listened, explained, thought through, and researched the tax implications of all my choices, and then how the firm has taken care of the niggly things I don’t have time for. On top of that, my mom moved to him after I said how much I liked him, and he charged HALF of what my mom’s other accountant was charging - they kept acting like she still had some complicated ranch and land arrangements that she had long completed, yet as simple as her affairs are now, they charged her the same as before. We were happy with how Brian and Ray CPA charged much more appropriately and affordably.

This is a response to Rebeccas review:Rebecca,Thank you for your feedback, and I hope all is going well. Looking into our records, I see that you were provided with our standard hourly rates in advance. We prepared a cost estimate of $400 for the personal tax return, which was in line with our final invoice. In addition, we discovered that you were required to file a Texas Franchise Tax report for your small business, which increased the fee slightly. Your husband began to send us emails from “The Godfather Verdict”. He became abusive and rude to our staff over the phone. The invoice amount was reduced to $433, which is fair and reasonable in my humble opinion. He refused to pay the invoice upon filing of the tax returns and insisted that the invoice would be paid once he received the tax refund. The refund was sent by the IRS in a timely fashion, and the invoice for our fee was never paid. We sent kind reminders each month of the balance due and we were ignored each time. When we called your husband laughed and hung up the phone on us. We waited patiently four and a half months prior to sending the account through our collections process. It wasnt until after we sent your account through the collections process that this negative online review was posted, which is a common theme in our negative reviews.Thank you kindly,Josh RayRay CPA, PC

We were quoted under $400 for personal and business tax preparation. We were never told a deadline to submit all materials to them so when we turned everything in ahead of the tax submission deadline, we were apparently too late. So, they had to file an extension. When we would call for an update, no one was able to tell us what was going on with our tax prep. We knew nothing until it was submitted, even then, they were unsure if it was submitted or not, even though we got an email notification. They then went ahead and completed extra tasks that we never approved because we had already take care of those tasks. They still charged us for those tasks even though they were unnecessary. In the end... $691 dollars! $300 more than quoted with no communication about how much more we would be paying. They brought it down after consistent complaints and being called out on their mistakes, but it is still well over what we were quoted. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! The do not communicate with you about what they are doing and extra steps they are taking. You will pay more than you need to!

I was in a bind over a former business partner. They were understanding and able to help me out of a bad situation. Their ethical handling of my situation has helped me be put at ease and stay out of the IRS crosshairs! Thank you and I highly recommend using their services.

I took my LOI due diligence and ask John to send an email. All he did was sending one page an email on summary of my first 55min discussion.after a couple of short emails, then they sent me 5.25 hrs for $630 (now $500 after I complaining)Their inaccurate hours is for they are claiming that they saved me a lot of money but they didnt do any extra work nor saved any money. He is (Ray) mentioning to me that collection agency and his attorney if I dont pay .
