WOW.... We got three bids for an AC replacement on two units. Our initial concern was that Neal’s was so much less than the others.. (one was double his bid and the other was 50% higher) and we didn’t know how this could be.We received two quality 16 SEER Carrier units (inside and outside) and added UV to both for indoor air quality plus the large unit filters (to eliminate all the regular air intake filters) and two new Nest thermostats and they still beat all other prices by $3,000.00.The entire crew is professional, polite, knowledgeable and kept us in the loop as to what they were doing.When Neil tells you they are the best, he isn’t boasting, he is just stating a fact.Amazing.... My rating is 5 star for the ac installation- professional and personable installers who were pleasant and appeared knowledgeable about what they were doing. 0 stars if possible for repairs on my 5 month old unit. I have been having trouble with a breaker tripping. i emailed and received an appt the same day. The young man who came out said everything was working fine and that although they usually don’t replace breakers he had spoken with his boss - Chris- who said that if problem continued they would replace breaker and that anything after that would fall to an electrician.As you may expect less than an hour later breaker tripped once again. I emailed office and got a prompt response that I would need an electrician. I responded that that was not what tech had said - had they talked to him. I received a call minutes later from owner, Chris, who admitted he had not talked to tech but gave me all sorts of reasons why legally they could not do it. Every time I tried to speak he would talk over me. Finally i said he was being rude and would he give me 30 seconds to speak. I wanted to ask him to speak with his tech and call me back. I did not care if they were unable to repair but I thought he should be aware of what I was told. I never got a chance as the owner of this business took offense because I said he was rude and hung up on me! How sad that a business owner reverts to such behavior- and he never found out that I was ok with what he was saying!

With the temperatures warming up we had these guys come out to do an AC checkup. AC was running all the time. Called and they always answer the phone. No leave a message or voicemail or crazy menu options. A real live person answers. Got us scheduled. They came out and solved the issue. These guys are great. Reasonable pricing too.

I have two rental homes and one year after the other, the old a/c units gave out one at a time, and Neals came first to keep it working temporarily, and within two days in both cases, installed new units at a very fair price. In addition, when a drain clogged, they were out the next day, to clear it, and checked the system and verified filters were being changed, drains were operational, and gave me information about what was affecting the new system, and how to keep it running well. The workers were here at the time and date we agreed upon and were very respectful of the house and yard by keeping the area clean the entire time they were putting in the new air conditioners. Air conditioners work great and are a lot quieter then the original ones we had. We would highly recommend this company.

Had several issues arise after a technician hired by my home warranty co installed improperly-sized equipment in my unit. Called Chris at Neal’s after dealing with 4 different incompetent techs after the improper install - not one of the reported any issues with the improperly-sized coil. Chris’ team member Arturo found the issue quickly and after discussion amongst Chris and Arturo, it was determined that my system needed to be replaced due to the improper install wreaking havoc on the rest of the system. When I looked up symptoms of an improperly-sized coil, all the symptoms showed what I was dealing with for over a month. I quickly scheduled the install after Chris gave me a very reasonable price quote. The guys were on-time, polite and professional, and very conscientious about my home and clean-up after, and the final cost was just as Chris quoted - no hidden fees tacked on last minute. And best of all, my new system is running great, my house feels like a much-loved igloo, and all rooms are running the same temp - no more uneven temps and scorching 2nd floor, even my office which always ran hotter even before the improper coil install is at the same desired temp as rest of house. I called Neal’s when 13 years old condenser unit failed on Thursday by Saturday afternoon I had a completely new system (aside from ductwork and copper lines). Jesse showed up the day of the initial call to walk me through the options which was great, especially when your AC is down!The reason for the new system was a combination of age and all the bandages that had already been applied to the equipment over the years. Also, the 6K price seemed reasonable for the proposed equipment quality level and quick schedule turnaround.Jesse, Noe, and the install team worked quickly, quietly, and paid a lot of respect to my home and belongings. Chris installed my air conditioner and heater in August 2019. His price was very good. Service - great. Yesterday I called him at 1pm because the heater went out the night before. I could tell he was booked, but found a way to get a guy out to check it at 3:30pm the same day. It turned out to be a minor issue - the gas valve was turned off. Probably done when I was moving boxes near the heater the day before. Anyone else would have changed for a service call. He didnt. No cost. A minimal charge for his technician to come out would have been more than fair, but he insisted on not charging. Who does this anymore? I highly recommend him.

I’ve used these guys over the past 7 years for repairs and a total replacement. I always get quick service and the technicians (Arturo especially!) are awesome, always explaining exactly what the problem is and what they are doing to fix it. When I had my furnace and ac replaced they were considerably less than the other guys for a larger unit and they were in an out in a few hours. Before I replaced everything Chris took the time to explain which units were best for our house and why. I’m always curious and I love that they will always take the time to answer questions and explain everything.

Actually, I have not technically used Neal’s Heating but I wanted to post this experience because we were in dire straights and Neal was there. We will give the company all of our HVAC business moving forward.On Sunday — right in the middle of the ice and snow storms we’ve been having in Austin — my HVAC system just died. The last three days we’ve been without heat as temperatures hovered around 10 degrees. I realize the extreme circumstances, so I wasn’t expecting a miracle. The company that installed the HVAC system I couldn’t reach — mailbox full. Others I called in the area — everything went to voice mail. Maybe one called back. Neal need only called back but asked me to text details of the issue ... maybe they could get a tech out by the end of the week.I texted details and a few images of the problem area. I called just to see if I was still in the queue for a technician. The phone was answered by I assume Mr Neal. He saw the images, told me what he thought the problem was, told me what he thought caused it — all from the images I sent and the details provided. Sure, no guarantee that he was right but that’s not the point. The point is he was there, willing to help, even though he couldn’t get a tech out and from what he said there probably wasn’t even a spare part in Austin to fix.At least I’m one step closer to getting heat again, whether it’s Neal AC or not. Well, if you are trying to decide what company to use and what advice to take when it comes to HVAC here is all you need to know: Neals Heating & AC. Why ? Well : in the past I was a long term and very firm customer of a large HVAC company , but after having interacted with Chris Neal I realized that I had been missing the element of personalization and direct contact with the company owner. Another consideration is that when you deal with a very large service company you are also usually going to deal with a little less quality control and a little more expenses . It made a big difference to me to be able to speak with the owner of the company. The fact that he is responsive and knowledgeable is a huge plus as well . We are loving the system that Chris Neal recommended and installed, and look forwards to years of trouble free heating a cooling !

Neals did excellent work at a great price.My very old furnace needed repair. I had a well known HVAC company come out, and they determined the cause and quoted the repair.I called Neals AC, who quoted a price hundreds lower.Since the repair was approximately 10% of a new system, Neal also quoted a price to replace the old furnace. Again he beat the other price, this time by thousands!His installer came out that afternoon, and the installation was done the next day!The installation team was very professional. Everyone on the team introduced themselves, offered to answer any questions, and took care to do the job right. They took the time to show me anything I had questions about.As a few examples of their professionalism, they put down a cloth to protect the carpet, vacuumed when they were done, and brought the system up to code in a few places.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to friends or family.

My tenants notified me the A/C was having issues Saturday evening so I went over Sunday and switched the thermostat myself to see if that was the problem (it wasn’t) so I sent Chris a message Sunday expecting to hear back Monday because it was Father’s Day Sunday, but he responded right away and got me scheduled for Tuesday but AC completely stopped working at that point so I asked if he could squeeze me in the next day on Monday and he did. My tenants text me to let me know he was there so I headed over (I’m less than 10min away) and when I arrived he was already getting ready to leave because he quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue before I even arrived. It was a clogged drain and a blown fuse from my missing the second breaker in the garage before switching the thermostat. Very fair price, even quoted me on new ductwork before he left (also fair price) and I’ll be using him for yearly maintenance on all our homes as that price it great and his service/quality is even better. Rare find these days, truly blessed to have happened upon his info online, I trusted all his great reviews and sure glad I did.

Well here we go i just had a whole system install today 4/17/20 by Chris/ Jessie and his team and couldnt be happier. My wife and I had been searching for weeks for a reputable A/C company and she came across A/C by Chris. I would highly recommended them for new install or repair they explain everything in detail the more questions you ask the better the knowledge they give in return. Did i mention the price out of like 4 major A/C he beats them hands down. So give them a shot you wont be disappointed I guarantee you.

We had a little issue with the capacitor on our unit, I didn’t hesitate to call Chris Neal and his team over to take a look. Jesse arrived earlier than the scheduled appointment and was done in about 15 mins. AC is operating like it should once more! Jesse also took the time to answer a few questions that I had. On a Friday afternoon around 2:30, and it’s 105* outside, my ac quit working. I called Chris @Ac By Chris. Within 2 hours a technician arrived. After about 5 mins of checking the system, it was determined the capacitor was defective. He replaced it and cleaned the coils. Thank you for the quick response and accurate diagnosis at a fair price !

Our AC unit starting giving us problems so we called Chris. That afternoon he sent out Arturo to diagnose the issue. The system was close to 20 years old and was not repairable. The very next morning Arturo and crew were out to our house to replace the whole system. Six short hours later we were up and cooling with a brand new system. Noe and Arturo showed up right in the middle of the two-hour window for a maintenance plan visit (furnace). They were very professional and courteous, thoroughly described what they did and saw, and even offered to change out smoke detector batteries.

Chris has been my HVAC guy for about 7 years. His team installed a new A/C system (separate upstairs and downstairs units) in 2013. His team does system checks as needed and preventive maintenance to keep the system running well and efficiently.Our upstairs A/C stopped working this past week. I think this is the first issue weve had since getting the system. Chris had someone out within a few business hours of me reporting it. His guy found the condensation kill switch had failed. Got it replaced immediately and for a reasonable price. The family is comfortable again... which is especially important right now considering the stay-at-home order.I highly recommend Chris and his team!

Responsive, quick and wonderful service!

On Friday they came out for a service since the AC was frozen but said i need to reschedule for the next day when its thawed. I had scheduled for them to come out on a Saturday, they confirmed they had me on the schedule for mid morning. We never heard anything from them so by 10 i texted them asking for an ETA. They never showed and never contacted me back.Response... I did not call you back 45 minutes later i texted you guys to state it was thawed, in which i got a response back I seriously doubt it. but they confirmed i was on the schedule for Saturday. i then Messaged you back Saturday morning at 10:12 AM and you guys just ghosted me, never responding. So to state i never reached out on Saturday is false. I do have to say the techs that did come out Friday were professional and courteous.

Midnight on a Saturday our A/C stopped blowing out cool air. Sunday AM, I can Neil Heating & A/C. Arturo came out and diagnosed the problem. He then went outside to the unit and verified the problem. Two dead lizards. He was kind enough to show us the deceased lizards remains. He had the replacement part on his truck. Problem solved. A/C working great. Price was reasonable. Arturo was very personable and professional. He wore a mask while communicating. I would recommend them.
