These guys are amazing. Always super friendly and have the best advice. Most shops see a female and get the how can we screw her over mentality but these guys arent like that. I met them delivering parts to them and still wouldnt recommend anyone else to people I meet. You know when ppl are talking about car issues and your first recommendation is almost 45 minutes away that you believe in these guys for a reason. ❤️❤️

Destry & Tyler are excellent mechanics. Prices are fair. Work is exactly as stated and I certainly do not get a run around. I have been going here for over 5 yrs and no complaints. Had my problem money pit S2000 go from shop to shop after I moved here from California not knowing the area. No shop I took it to could resolve the issues or take care of the vehicle. When I brought it here to the owner Destry I felt much more comfortable letting him and his shop get it back to running conditions. With his knowledge and professionalism I had the car back with my main concern and even a few others I didnt know about taken care of. While his shop was working on it they informed me each step of the way as they progressed and what was to come next. I HIGHLY recommend this shop for any and all service.

I called to see if the did Rotor check and turning if needed. I didn’t get the guys name but instead of checking and charging for work, he said I’d be better off buying new rotors. Whereas Firestone was ready to charge for an inspection, labor and work (if needed). I’ll bring my next vehicle repair to 161 for sure!

At first we went to another shop to not be named in puyallup and they were taking forever . A plus transmission got my truck right in fixed it in like a day. So quick great and friendly service. Oh also great communication which is very important.

I cant say enough great things about 161 Garage. It is the only place that I will take my vehicles to. Period. Destry and his guys are great at what they do and will stand by their work. Not the lowest price in town, but fair. And you get what you pay for. And Destry stands by his work. I cant say that I havent had to bring things back to him, but I can say that he is welcoming and makes it right without charge if it is related to work done at his shop. And I should probably add that not only do I bring my personal vehicles there, but also my company fleet vehicles.So far he is 3 for 3 on solving mystery noise issues, and ultimately how I was introduced to 161 Garage. I took my truck to multiple shops to diagnose a mystery pop and thunk in my front end. I had practically every steering part replaced to no avail. A friend of mine advised me to take it to Destry, and he diagnosed it within a couple hours and had it fixed immediately. Hes a wizard when it comes to vehicle mechanics.Again, I cant say enough good things about 161 Garage and would recommend it to anyone.

We towed our car to this shop because it was the closest transmission shop to our broken down car, not having been a customer before. As a women, I always feel cautious that Im not being taken advantage of when it comes to car repairs. Destry, I think hes the owner, was always helpful with providing information on what my car needed (a new transmission, which we were anticipating), the guaranteed vended parts they use, and the time frame needed to make the repairs. He was on the level, easy going, and very friendly. The new (rebuilt) transmission runs strong and smooth. I definitely recommend them for transmission repair and servicing.

Nice guys, honest, and theyve never tried to gouge me on any labor for my cars. Also being a shade-tree mechanic myself theyve gotten me out of a pinch before when I didnt have the equipment to finish a job I tried to do myself. Definitely would recommend them!

We took our vehicle here and long story short $2500 and 2 days later we had to have the vehicle TOWED to another shop for repairs. This garage could not fix the problem after replacing parts that we later learned from the other repair shop was not necessary to replace in order to correct the real problem. Instead of saying they couldn’t find the problem they ran up a bill and at the end of the day they didn’t give us the “faulty” parts back that we asked for.I have never had to pay someone NOT to fix a problem!!!

PLEASE RECONSIDER!!!This guys talk a good game, but they are crooks who lyes about service performed.They couldn’t fix my vehicle, yet over charged me for work that didn’t need to be done. And to make matters worst, they lied about what was going on with the vehicle. I had to take it to another shop in which they informed me that the other party (161) had lied and the part replaced wasn’t the issue.Bottom line: go to a shop that won’t be like capital one and find what’s in your wallet!

Dont take your vehicle here. I took my truck here for a transmission flush and they screwed up the gear selector cable.It wouldnt go into park and would barely move in drive. All Because he refused to do the job properly and drop the y pipe that ran under the pan. So instead he decided to drop the axle and remove the gear cable to lift the transmission higher. In doing so he screwed it all up. What should have been a simple job with the right tools, ended with taking 5 hours and a screwed up transmission cable.

Weve taken 3 of our cars here and have received great service every time.

The owner was really busy with phone calls and orders and he took the time out of his way to help tighten my handlebars that flopped down, that is a great repair shop, really friendly even when busy, if I could give you 10/10 I sure would, great and friendly service!!!
