Had an excellent experience here. Highly recommend them. Im an older lady that travels for my work and I pull a heavy 5th wheel. The air bags of my F250 deflated leaving me stranded and unable to move my RV. All Ford shops were 2-3 weeks out. One shop recommended BJD to me and sure enough they got me in immediately with excellent customer service and prices. Thank you Jim!!!

Truck broke down and they came out to look at it while we were there and found the issue in minutes and fixed it right on the spot. Great service and great people. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.Brett, did something that the previous mobile mechanics couldnt do. FIX my retired diesel ambulance and saved me $900 by finding something unplugged. Was traveling through with a load of horses. Noticed truck was running warmer than usual. Dropped horses and trailer at a horse motel in Fountain. Called Big Jim’s Diesel and Automotive Repair. They understood my urgency and stopped what they were doing to look at my truck. Turns out it had a bad water pump and blown head gasket. They ordered the parts and had me back on the road the following afternoon. I highly recommend this place. Very friendly and honest. Very reasonably priced. I’m from California and I would have had to pay a whole lot more had this happened in my home state. In my opinion, business done right❤️ They get 5 stars from me!

After about 10 K of my hard earned cash my truck still doesnt run. The first time I got it back it was pouring oil from a camseal and the gridheater was getting constant power and the indicator was Illuminated on the dash. The second time I got it back it quit starting the following day. They told me that they had tried another ecu in my truck when it wouldnt fire up for them and Im starting to think that bad ecu from another truck is sitting in mine. I have a bunch electrical related fault codes and quite frankly Im pretty ticked off about this. I accumulated debt and have worked basically double time to pay for these repairs and my truck still aint right. 3 times I got my truck back screwed up. Now u have to get a lawyer

Wonderful customer service and very knowledgeable staff! I tried two other places in Pueblo when I was having trouble and needed my truck to haul my kids animals to the fair. One place completely blew me off and the other actually recommended Big Jims. I highly recommend them and from now on we will always go to them for our automotive needs. We have A Sprinter diesel Mercedes RV. The check engine light came on while traveling in Colorado.Checked in at Pueblo State Park on Sunday. Called Big Jim’s at 8:00 AM Monday . Took RV right in and Big Jim immediately diagnosed the problem . Repair part was not available. Good news was, Jim advised it is not A shut down problem and we can continue on our trip . He will order part and we can stop by on our return trip Sept 1st. He refused any payment for his time stating “I did not fix the problem”. This type of customer service is rare . We highly recommend this shop as you will receive fast, friendly and honest service. 5 Stars 🌟

My: 98 F350 died on the highway. Jims crew had a number for a tow truck who was fast and only $65. They worked me into their schedule and only charged their posted rates. Having the peace of mind that a pro did the repairs and Im safe with grandkids is worth it! And a warranty for the future.

Jim is a regular guy who communicates well, is honest and a top notch diesel mechanic! All of the staff are friendly and helpful and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this shop for any of your diesel needs! I suspect that Jim and his staff are equally adept at dealing with gasoline vehicles as well.

In my 63 years, I don’t think I have met a kinder man than Jim! We were traveling through Colorado with our 5th wheel RV. Our service light came on 60 miles from Pueblo! We called Chevrolet and GMC service departments and all diesel mechanics were out for the day. I looked up diesel mechanic shops and God led me to this shop! When my trucks fuel pump went out while hauling a load through Amarillo Texas, Jim personally took care of me. He got me a new pump (honoring the warranty on the part) sent it to the shop where my truck was at and took my word that I would return the core. He not only proved his integrity, but had confidence in my word as well. Id recommend Big Jims to anyone who expects honest and dependable service. THANKS JIM!

The best in Pueblo! I’ve taken my vehicle to a few diffferent shops in the past and no one has taken care of me as well as Big Jim’s. They are very considerate of their customers needs and are very reliable, quick, honest, and offer fair prices. As a women who knows nothing about cars, it’s hard to find a shop that is honest with you. Thankfully, I was able to find that here. I would give a 10 out of 5 stars if I could.

Needed a good mechanic to look at my Ford 6.0 and read a lot of reviews. I would like to expose the person who, in public forum, said that this fine establishment doesnt know how to work on these diesels. I contacted this business and got prompt service after another mechanic let me down, what appears in every way to be a great job at a fair price, (exactly the amount I was quoted by Big Jim himself), and comforting customer service. Thank you again to Big Jims, you have my highest recommendation.

DONT GO TO THIS PLACE.... He will rip you off look at all the reviews not in his favor he slams them all.This guy quoted me a price to replace a heater core in my truck $300 out the door..Next day when I pick the truck Up, heater core is not touched instead they replace two batteries,which I knew there was a problem and already had a plan for that you charged me $400 I could have got the batteries at Walmart for $229, needless to say I still have a heater core problem now I have 2 batteries theyre not as good and cost me double. I REPEAT DO NOT GO THERE

Completely failed. Could not follow proper procedure on a common rail diesel injector change. Left us with a damaged engine. Could not complete a fuel filter change on a 1994 Dodge diesel, failed to follow procedure to prime the fuel system, and ruined $400.00 of brand new batteries.

Was using a half gallon of coolant a day. Stopped here jest before lunch. Diagnosed as bad Heater line. Orderef part and fixed right after lunch. Back on road in 2 hours. Hasnt used any coolant since. Great place if you need anything. Dave

We (wife and 3 kiddos) were traveling on Vacation from Texas to Wyoming and my diesel motorhome had engine lights recently on. I couldnt find any diesel shop able to look at it.. but Big Jims was kind enough to run a diagnostic test to make sure the Diesel Engine (new motorhome) was fine. It was! There is a intake issue with the DEF. I really appreciate them looking at it (when others would not) ... Great Family Business!!

I had a 95 Ford F-350 with a 7.3l.. It was Leaking diesel and losing power. other shops Couldnt find the Problem .. Big Jim stepped up to the plate! Very knowledgeable, I could tell right away he knew exactly was going on.. He showed me where the problems were, also found other maintenance related items in need of repair such as my serpentine belt and turbo boot that were damaged. Big Jim and the guys at the shop have fixed up my car a couple of times now for different things that have come up. Always the best prices in town for the excellent job they do. The quotes are alwsys fair and the car has always been ready when they say it will be. I will take my car to Big Jims for all my car problems.

There are very few times lately that I am inspired and eager to write a review for a business that stands out in class and character, but after my chance meeting with Jim I am happy to do just that!My truck broke down 20 miles out of Pueblo on our way to a day of boating. Soonest tow truck was 2 hours out and all the mobile mechanics were more than that. We called Jims and he took to the highway immediately and was confident he could fix it on the spot. If not Ill tow the boat and your family to the shop while we wait for the tow truck.So, like he thought, he found a faulty sensor that was causing the engine from running and told me that it was perfectly safe to drive so go to the lake, have your fun, I will be there about 4pm and replace the sensor there!Everything up to that point he was not asking for payment, he just didnt like to think about a family stranded in the heat.I can not thank you and your wife enough for being such good people and if it were feasible I would drive my truck out here for every thing ever needing done to it again!

DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO BIG JIMS DIESEL & AUTOMOTIVE!! On December 1st 2018 i brought my 2013 f350 with 6.7 powerstroke to Big Jims Diesel because it was running rough and missing. I was in Pueblo working and I researched diesel shops in Pueblo and from what I could tell was Big Jim was honest, fair and capable. I could of not been more wrong! I asked Big Jims to diagnose why truck was running so horrible. After a few days Jimmie got back to me and said I jad 5 bad injectors. He also told me my high pressure fuel pump was a little low on pressure but that Ford made a fuel contamination kit that included all 8 injectors, high pressure fuel pump, new fuel rails and both fuel filters. I told Big Jims to go ahead and get and install the fuel kit based on their diagnosis. Around 10 days later I got my truck back and headed back toward Denver, I did not even make it out if Pueblo and my check engine light comes on. I call Big Jims Jimmie says oh I think its a glow plug ill put one in for you when you get back. I make it to Denver and my truck is idling rough I call Big Jim again and tell them the truck is still running rough. They inform me to bring it back so they can put even more filters in it again. I take truck back to Denver meanwhile i have now paid over $6,000 and my truck still runs horrible. First Week in January i call down to Big Jims and talk to Brett their tech. My truck missing horrible he says you better get it down here. So I chose to drive it back to Big Jims. Once there Brett hooks it up to scanner and it shows all 8 injectors bad. He clears codes and another #2 injector code comes up Jimmie is on vacation and cannot be reached so Brett tells me they will warranty the #2 injector. After waiting 2 weeks and 2 broken promises when it would be done I show up and they start it back up for the first time. Its very obvious that the truck is still missing and running horrible. Jimmie says lets do a compression check on #2. Im just sitting there thinking why did they not do that from the start? They check for compression and there is none in cylinder#2. Knowing something more serious has happend I buy a long block for the truck and I have it towed out of Big Jims and down to Douglas County Diesel to have my new motor installed when it was time for the injectors to be installed in new motor I told Douglas County Diesel to just use the ones in my old motor because they where brand new, Big Jims had just installed them. Well as Douglas County ASE certified techs discovered that some or all of the injectors had never been removed, damaged while getting installed or even replaced!! Big Jims ripped me off and charged me for parts they never replaced they mis diagnosed the truck from the start! Actually 1 cam on one head was flat caused the valves to not work correctly and why there was no compression. I gave Big Jims the opportunity to make it right by just sending me a set of injectors but they refused. Big jims cost me over 10k and totally ripped me off and their tech Brett has no clue what he is doing. All he can do is read a scanner and mess up your vehicle.

Got quoted a price and ended up charging me 100$ more. But thats the least of my problems here, I had an appointment 8 am Monday morning, they didnt start until 2 pm and asked to keep it overnight and we told them we were unable to do it. They promised to have it done by 5 pm when they close. We get a call 4:50, its not done the ball joints are cut off because it was too rusted, so obviously we have no other choice but to leave it.My thinking is, if you know its going to take longer than your customer has time for why would you do it anyway and go against the customer??? That was a very big inconvenience to us but then the next day we go in to pick it up and I confronted them on what they are going to do to accommodate us, and he said well you knew we were keeping it overnight we called and told you, I said yeah after the fact that yall tore off the ball joint. It was also part of the deal that they put tail lights on for free for us while they were working on, which we were thankful for. But then when I asked what they could do for us for the inconvenience, he says (Jim) if you dont like it you can pay for the tailights and its over, if you dont want to bring your truck here anymore then dont I said we wont and paid the full price and left very unhappy.He alsoentiomed it was an 8 hour job and how he didnt charge for how rusty it was, I asked, if it was an 8 hour job then why wasnt it done when we had a scheduled appointment at 8 am? He said well what do you want me to do tell you we cant do it bring it anotheraday? I said no you could have started earlier than 2 pm to get it done for us, but they chose not to. And why would I have to bring it another day when we had it scheduled at 8 am. He was also very rude and clearly did not care how I left his business he just wanted his money

One word! Integrity! My family and I was camping in our Motor Coach at the Pueblo Reservoir, we had some issues with it starting.We contacted Jim and he made a special trip out to the lake to take a look. I had purchased a $526.00 fuel shut off solenoid thinking this was the problem, after Jim inspected my RV he informed me it was just a fuse. $3.00 part! I got to return the part, he saved me so much money and unnecessary repairs. For a very reasonable fee, While there Jim changed our serpentine belt, in less than an hour he had us up and running better than ever!I recommend Big Jim Auto to anyone having any kind of problems with any of your automobiles. This man is the most honest sltraight up macanic I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.My advice, go to Big Jim for all of your auto needs, his shop is family owed and opporated and very professional! Absolutely horrible. Had my car for a month and still couldnt get a diagnosis. Finally got my car out of there and new place(Jeremys garage- who got it fixed in 2 days btw) they tell me wires to the security system was all cut and the dash was taken apart. They were rude and it appeared they don’t know much about cars, obviously. My advice, take your car somewhere else. These people don’t have a clue what they are doing.

I have know the people at big jims for many years now and I must say they have never done me wrong or put something on my subaru that it didnt need. If your looking for a good, hard working, honest mechanic go to Big Jims Diesel and Automotive. I promise you they will take care of you better than any other place around.
