I found my nail stylist! I had a really bad gel manicure elsewhere (on 32nd and Hawthorne) and the owner at VIP Nails fixed it all! She took her time (but not too slow) and made sure the gel polish cured extra long. She confirmed for me that for gel polish I didn’t need the drummel drill to take off the polish (that’s for the dip powder). She used an Emory board and the regular acetone soak. I love it. And they used a great lotion HEMPZ!

Absolutely love these nails!! The lady that did my nails was super nice and took great care in making sure they looked exactly like what I wanted. The place was also very clean and was super cautious dealing with the pandemic going on. They took temperatures at the door, had hand sanitizer, and even had me complete a questionnaire regarding traveling and etc. Definitely recommend this place !!!

Ive been coming to this nail salon for 8 months and I always get the best service.Every person is so nice and they all seem to really take time to make your nails look great! I usually do regular pedicures (but have gotten a gel pedi) and they are always so good. Also the massage chairs are comfortable which is so nice!I get gel manicures and they are always great and they last for weeks! (I didnt love the color when I got home one time and they were so amazing when I came back the next day and changed it for me for no charge)They have lots of colors to choose from both in regular polish and gel. They even have powder dip.I for sure recommend VIP nails. I always call before going cause some days they are busier but they usually can fit you in! I was just there on a busy Sunday and called at noon and they told me I could come right in so they make sure to have lots of their amazing people there on busy days!

A great place to get your nails done! My nail technician put so much time and care into shaping and painting my nails. I got acrylics with a sparkly gel polish and it turned out amazing. My acrylics lasted about 4 weeks, which is pretty long considering how I didnt put too much effort into trying to preserve the nails as long as possible and continued performing my daily tasks as I usually do.

Random stop in sense they are close to my work an I do not regret it. She fixed the shape I wasn’t liking from the last place and Took her time. They are not to thick or too thin.Definitely found my new shop 😍

This salon is very clean and very friendly. Great price for excellent service. They are doing all they can to keep their customers safe during COVID. My husband and I made appointments online and got pedicures the next day, we were both very pleased with our experience.

This was probably one of the best nail salons I have ever gone to in Portland. I got a mani+pedi, which was a total of $65 plus tip. Everything was clean and peaceful. The color selection was amazing and diverse. The staff made me feel relaxed and did an amazing job on my nails. 10 out of 10 recommend!!!

Hands-down the worst experience Ive ever had in a nail salon. I went here because of the excellent reviews (which Im now convinced theyre paying to have negative reviews taken down). I was looking for a new salon to get SNS dipping powder manicures because my regular place was getting a bit sloppy, and I couldnt justify the price any longer for shoddy work.First off, the nail tech at VIP Nails proceeded to use nail clippers on my nails, which had SNS on them. Id never seen anyone do this when removing SNS and had actually been warned never to clip my nails, only to file them down. Well, after the nail tech clipped my nails (which was pretty painful and uncomfortable), my natural nail underneath the SNS was shattered and jagged. I thought, no biggie, I plan to get them cut much shorter anyway.Then the nail tech proceeds to use a clean (I hope) acrylic nail to dig up under my SNS and pry it off my fingernails. This was incredibly uncomfortable and all I could think about was how unprofessional this was and how terrified I was of being cut by the sharp plastic edges (think paper cut, but 10x worse).All of this took an incredibly long time, much longer than average (so if you do choose to make an appointment here, keep that in mind). I had already decided she didnt seem to know what she was doing and I didnt trust her to do a good manicure after the botched attempt to get the dipping powder off. I politely told her that I had not allowed myself enough time, I needed to be somewhere and to please just take off the rest of the SNS and shape and file (what was left of) my natural nails instead. She insisted she could finish the manicure in time (a whole SNS manicure in 20 minutes? Yeah, right...) but I insisted. She then half-heartedly began to file my nails without paying much attention to what she was doing, scraping my cuticle repeatedly and my nails still had sharp corners on them when she finished. I just wanted to get out of there and planned to file them myself at home.I went to go check out and the service I received came out to $20. I paid the $20 but did not leave a tip, and she had the audacity to point that out to me: You dont want to leave a tip? and I politely responded, No, I dont think so.I walked out, went home, and had to cut down my nails so much because the tops were shattered by the nail tech, and then had to file and shape them all myself. I never leave reviews, especially negative ones, but I feel horribly misled by the glowing reviews on Google.As a side note: This salon has signs posted asking to be paid completely in cash only. This bothers me a bit not only because I was not told before my manicure began, so I could prepare accordingly, but because I feel like theyre attempting to avoid paying the appropriate taxes. When I noticed the sign, I asked if they had an ATM in the building. They dont, of course. So I explained I only had a card, and they were nice enough about it.Another side note: When another customer came in, I kid you not, a boy of about 12 or 13 (he may have been 15 at the absolute max) began her manicure. I dont know why someone so young was working at 11:00 a.m. on a school day, but I suppose thats none of my business. This whole establishment was just unprofessional and sketchy in general, and I could never recommend them in any way.

Great place! Interior is beautiful and the customer service was fabulous. The staff treated everyone in there like they were VIPs and the hot stone pedicure was amazing.

I had pretty great service when I came into the shop, but was persuaded out of my choice for false nails; I was told powder was stronger than acrylic or shellac and that it would last the longest. I was told multiple times this. I broke a nail pushing a shopping cart and barely clipping it the second day. I have three cracked. Three more broken completely off and all the top coat lacquer is chipping all over the color from one of two brands that were used. I wasn’t very happy with the shape either. They were lumpy and some of the points were slanted and uneven.I was fairly disappointed to pay almost $60 for two days of nails when I need them for work.

Great service! Gentle with my skin and cuticles and very detailed with shaping and polish. Good prices too. Ill definitely be back!

Good pedicures but need to work on the mani acrylics. There usually isnt parking near by available. Close earlier than posted time usually. Good customer service and drinks available.

I adore this place. Ive been searching for a nail salon that was more gentle on the nails (not scraping and cutting cuticles in a rush) and Im happy to have found this salon. Everyone is genuinely friendly and they do a quality polish job that lasts without chipping for weeks.

I am visiting a friend in Portland. She made appointments for us at this lovely nail salon. This was the best experience I have ever had outside of a spa . A true treasure. You girls are fortunate to this place in your neighborhood .

The first time I had a pedicure here it was a good experience. The second time it was not so great. The technician was not able to understand my requests for adjustments to the massage. She kept turning around to watch the TV behind her and was mindless about the massage. I had an obvious bruise that had a bump and she massages right over it multiple times. She also kept pressing hard right on my shin bone and spent a lot of time with the HOT rock on the top of my foot on the bone where it felt even hotter (while watching TV behind her—so odd and unprofessional). I imagine that basic anatomy is taught at beauty school including how to avoid boney parts and bruises. I can’t go to a salon anymore where they can’t understand me and they don’t have anyone there on staff that can understand English well enough to make sure clientele are safe. It is also a very stinky salon and needs better ventilation. If you do go here don’t bother with the highest priced pedi. It’s not worth it. I’m bummed that I was tense the whole time and in pain when I went in for a relaxing experience. What a waste of my time and $45.

Wonderful service! Thouroughly surprised, after some trial and error spots on Hawthorne I was a little skeptical about how this place would hold up but such a pleasant surprise! Free mani kit, a menu of drinks to choose from, really relaxing atmosphere and the people that work there were all super kind. Definitely will be making it my new go to spot from now on!

Cute, clean shop right of Division that offers great service with gel manicures that last. Highly recommend the hot stone pedicure to help ease those tired muscles.

Left my manicure and went directly home to remove the mess they had made - my cuticles and paint looked embarrassingly bad. They were very nice people but definitely go somewhere else to get your nails done.

It was the most unpleasant experience. Bad customer service. The lady was on the phone half of the time she was doing my daughters nail. And she did a very sloppy job.

The salon is clean and the staff are friendly, but the quality of the manicure and pedicure I received were very poor—nails cut too short and uneven, polish sloppy at the edges. I wouldn’t recommend it.
