I cannot say enough GOOD things about this place! I’ve tried a lot of nail places and this is the best I’ve ever been too. It’s always clean, quiet and the staff are very courteous and professional! When I go I see Linda and she is the best! She is always very personable and friendly. 10 out 10 recommend!!!

I love them!! As long as Im in Maine I will never go anywhere else. They are all good but Michael especially does amazing work, double checks that everything is even and perfect and makes sure they will last. The salon itself is clean and nice. I highly recommend them!

They did a great job on my nails, a couple of sanitary things could have been better I did see him take a couple of tools he was using and then throw them back in his drawer after he was done using them on me, and my massage for my pedicure was about 25 seconds each per foot I know I counted haha. Overall they did do a good job on my nails and Im not bleeding so thats a plus.

I have been to this nail salon several times and had excellent service. My most recent visit was horrible...nail tech had attitude and did a horrible job. My nails looked like they were already 2 weeks old after 5 days! Nails are sticky and far from my nail bed. Like the shop but not the lady who did my nails.

3 weeks after my gel manicure and regular pedicure, and it still looks amazing ! Visiting from Seattle, our Airbnb host recommend Magic Nails, and were so glad she did. Also, it was my boyfriends first time getting a mani/pedi, and they were so sweet and welcoming. Highly recommend Magic Nails !!

I waited an hour and a half while on a time schedule just for them to not have time to do my nails. All the while taking people in before me. Completely unimpressed. Ive used them a few times before (4) and each time leaving a little unsatisfied and hoping each time would be better than the last... I was wrong. Not to mention the men are rough and broke 3 of my real nails before setting acrylic over them. And the lady I had the second time that did my pedicure cut my feet all up because she was young and didnt know how to use a callus razor. Completely unimpressed. I wont be returning.

Had an awesome pedicure! Misa switched colors for me three times and made sure I loved the color in the end + she gave me an amazing mini foot message (I work in construction and am on my feet for 14 hours a day so this was much appreciated!)Thank you Misa 💛

If I could give this place a zero I would. They used the wrong color and then when I told them it was wrong they said, oh well, it still looks nice though! Then when I told them I wanted it changed to the color I picked they told me that I would have to pay to change it. They argued with me and refused to give me my money back or fix it for free. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. I certainly will not be going back, no way.

Went in for a gel manicure and 3 days later the polish had chipped off and was cracking. I went in to ask for it fixed and waited 45 min. I again asked for it to be fixed and they asked what color it was. I said I didnt remember. He brought a similar color, redid the manicure. I was under the impression this was free since I already paid 3 days ago. They said I must pay for the manicure because I didnt tell them it was a fix. They made a huge scene in front of several other customers. They should be ashamed. Definitely wont be returning. Stay away.

They do the best nails

My gosh, there is no one better to love on my nails than Teresa and Linda! They are 100 percent worth my extra travel to get to them. They pay attention to detail, and always make sure you love what you get- not to mention the salon is clean. If you haven’t tried them yet, you’re missing out.

What horrible service! I had a dip manicure for 6 days and it was all chipped and jagged. I called on a Saturday to have them fix it but they said they were too busy and to come back on Tuesday. That’s 3 days with dangerously sharp nails. So I went elsewhere to get them fixed. Went to their salon Tuesday to ask for my money back. The owner was disrespectful, dismissing, and rude (Ben). He refused to do anything. He walked away from me and wouldn’t continue a conversation. Would highly recommend staying away from this place they can’t stand behind their product!

My wife wrote this review:My mom, 3 bridesmaids and I were scheduled to go to a fancy nail salon in downtown Portland the day before my wedding. The place said they didnt have us in the books, so we ended up googling and finding Magic Nails. I called and said there would be 5 of us there in 15 minutes all getting pedicures and manicures, and we only had 2 hours to get it all done, and would they be able to handle us? They said that would be no problem, so we headed over. As soon as we walked in, they were ready. We picked colors, and they had a person assigned to each one of us, with the pedicure baths waiting. We were able to completely relax and enjoy ourselves! All 5 nail techs stayed with each of us for the manicures - 4 of which were gels. They did nail art on the 3 bridesmaids that turned out adorable (rose gold stripes and chevrons!). We were out of there in about an hour and 45 minutes! The gel polishes lasted 3 weeks for each of the bridesmaids and over 4 weeks for me (because I was on my honeymoon and never had time to change it out)! We were all floored with how long it lasted; the nails were actually growing out before they chipped! Ive never had shellacs last more than 2 weeks, even though they say theyre supposed to, so we were truly impressed. They were amazing to us and I will definitely go back whenever I am in Portland! As my friend said, Magic Nails truly is MAGIC!!!

Love love going here for my nails. They are clean, pleasant and always do a very nice job. My shellac normally last at least 2.5 weeks before its starts to chip!! Thats incredible!

Ive been going here for two years now, I have loved my nails every time. I am very picky with my nails especially if I ask for a design. They are very friendly, the owners are amazing. Go see Linda or Teresa they are both very talented.

Loved my nails for prom and they stayed looking gorgeous for 4 weeks! I had Teresa and she did fantastic even the diamonds stayed on for 4 weeks! Beyond happy and I would recommend!

Every time I read a negative review of Magic Nails, I am honestly surprised. I have been going there for about 3 years, and would not go anywhere else. My nails are gorgeous every time, the price is fair, and the people who work there are professional and friendly (even when I have personally witnessed people being rude to them).I think if you use common sense and all-around basic human decency you will have a fine time at Magic Nails. For example - if you dont want to have to wait for a walk-in appointment, make any appointment first. If something isnt going right with your appointment, say something. Every time that I have been there when some kind of error has occurred, the employee has been more than willing to fix it.Also - take into consideration that silence from your nail tech while they do your nails isnt rude - it may be that a) some people like a quiet nail experience so perhaps the nail tech doesnt want to ruin that for you or b) realize that maybe the person doing your nails doesnt know English well enough to have a long conversation.In my experience, doing these things (also known as things a considerate person should do for an appointment at any establishment in general) and not being an ass result in a pleasant appointment, every time.

Ive gone here for years and generally have decent service . But the customer service was non-existent today. I make an appointment with the expectation of somewhat timely service. 25 minutes with no communication/interaction is unacceptable.

The man doing g my nails never spoke a word to me . Except pick the color . He never smiled ,and acted completely bored with his job .I have encountered this type of rudeness from this nail salon once before . I thought I would give it another try .Will not visit this nail salon again.I also did not like the fact that the shellac was close at all to the cuticle of my nail.I realize that they have to be careful not to cover the cuticle ,but leaving obvious bare nail looks horrible .I just paid and left .

I have had my nails done at Magic Nails for a long time. I have had good experiences and enjoyed the respectful and professional climate. This past week I was assigned a totally inexperienced, untrained young man. I finally escaped after a hour of total incompetence to the restroom and secretly knocked on the employees only door. Got the attention of Teresa who corrected the mess. I paid full price almost 2 hours later. I tipped Teresa for her stepping in. Not sure I will go back again. Very disappointed.

My experience started off normal. I selected my color (I was getting an acrylic fill), the man filed my nails down, and then I washed my hands. Once he got the acrylic fill in place he went to find the color I chose and came back with a different one. I told him I didn’t want the color he chose, but the one I chose. He ARGUED WITH ME about the color selection for FIVE MINUTES. After he finally agreed to do the color I chose he began aggressively filing my nails and filing into the edge of my finger. When he took the nail buffer to my nails he was going to fast that he didn’t even get my whole nail and kept hurting my fingers squeezing them to hold them still. When it was time for the clear coat he missed a lot of my nail down by the cuticles. Oh, and I want to mention when he sensed me getting angry after the paint dispute he stopped what he was doing and made me pay in advance which was highly offensive because I watched the other people while I was there pay when they were done. I won’t be going back. It was a place where everyone looked like they hated their job, they apparently don’t listen, and half the girls were dressed like they were about to go clubbing.

Gorgeous, perfectly smooth and long lasting manicures and pedicures. Tried other places and THEY SUCKED. The price is great, Teresa is a rock star and there isnt a better mani/pedi in town.

Technician used a drumel to remove my gel versus soaking them and scrap off. My natural nail beds are very thin so I learned a hard lesson not speaking up. This will take a few months to naturally heal 》-( do not go to this salon as a walk-in. Risking health issues.

I see that the staff/owners are giving themselves 5 stars here to try to make this place look better. I had a horrible experience here with my daughter where the staff felt it was ok to mock us throughout our appointment. For your information Magic Nails staff, just because you are speaking a different language doesnt mean your customers cant tell that you are laughing about them. I might have excused some of this if they had done a good job, but sadly it was as poor as the customer service. Why isnt there an option to give zero stars?

My first and my last time.. My weeding is this weekend and I had a gel manicure a week and a half ago for my bachelorette party. I am a nurse and my nails are always short, I grew them out for the first time over the last few weeks and they looked awesome length and shape wise. I went for my appointment and my the girl doing my nails couldnt understand me at all, she filed my nails with a course file aggressively bending the nails back over my fingers, then she put the acetone on them for only a minute then began aggressively scrapping it off. This was very painful as the acetone hadnt had time to work and she againwas bending my nails back. I couldnt sit still in my seat this hurt so much. The tops of my nails were scrapped so hard a couple of them were split and she again filed them until my index finger was tissue paper thin. I had to ask her to cut them all because they were VERY damaged. Did a bad job painting as well, the paint is down onto my cuticles and under my nails. She also didnt let me look through the colors, insisted I came over to her seat then started right in before I had chosen anything and there were not busy at all had several girls watching shoes on their phones.. I never give a small business a bad review but I will never go back and I wish the first time I went wasnt for my wedding.

The customer service at this place is terrible. I have been coming here for a long time due to its proximity to my home. Spent hundreds, if not thousands, over the years. No more! Im sick of being treated poorly. The male owner/manager needs a lesson on how to talk to paying customers. He throws your hand back aggressively when hes done. Just so rude. The sisters up front clearly talk about every customer that comes in. The work varies with each visit. As do the prices. Sometimes I feel like they just make up a number on the spot. Do not come here! Maybe if they start losing business they will take a look at how they are treating people and change!

I go here every two weeks to get my nails done and today Ive never been so disappointed, they had me sit down and said a few minutes. AN HOUR LATER they had taken two clients who got there after me and I still sitting and waiting. They lost a lot of business from me and anyone who asks me where they should go. Staff your shop better or dont lie to your customers.

I should be heading into this salon right now for the THIRD time to have my nails fixed and done the right way but im so over this salon so im writing a review instead to warn others. I went in over the weekend to have my set filled and done again and the guy doing my nails did not remove my previous color and slapped the new color right over the old one. you could legit see the old color popping out on the sides, top and even underneath. it looked fricken terrible. so i go back in the next day in hopes to have a good experience and get what i paid for and instead i get ganged up by 4 of the employees telling me that this isnt their fault and that they would charge me again if i wanted anything else. RIDICULOUS. i cant believe they are still in business with how they treat their customers. straight up rude. anyways, i get my nails done and pay again (im out almost $100 now) and not even 24 hours later my thumb nail cracks. im not even bothering going back into that salon because i will no doubt be yelled at again but THIS SALONS SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND THEIR WORK IS POOR! dont waste your money or time.

What a breath of fresh air!!!!! The salon has many stations for manis and pedis. Its is very clean and open too. I dont get my nails done often and I have never found a nail salon that was good, before now. This place is GREAT! I had my nails done 2 weeks ago at a different Portland salon. They were terrible and I was so disappointed. Tonight at Magic Nails I got them fixed. They are 100% better. I also got nail art. The technician wasnt comfortable with the design I had chosen. However she was Honest, Very Kind, and she tried anyway, eventhough she was uncomfortable. I am happy. I really felt as if she was concerned for my happiness. She really seemed as if she wanted to make sure I had the best service. I really appreciate feeling listened to, for once. I truly am so happy with my nails. I will always go to magic nails.

Well i guess i was wrong. I was a dedicated cliet gavre a good tip. One day i made an appoinment i was told when i made appoibment could not tall to me todaty to busy. Could talk to sisters client. Neither she nor the owner said hi when i went in. I had a pedicure appoitnent aldo cancelef thought would help her she bitched i didnt call and tell her. She doesnt need worry again. The rest were alwsys rude. But i thought she,was different i was wrong. They will loose that business eventually. xcellent service and excellent work. They always fit me in. My nails lasts for two weeks. Any problems they fit me right in.

Absolute WORST service. They cut my nail beds on three different fingers, and the nails look like they are a week old even though I got them yesterday.. I am going back to get a refund or get a free service.

My experiece at Magic nails hasnt always been pleasant. I have had my feet cut and my nail beds cut to the point that they were bleeding. They never offered me a discount or something for cutting me.However, Amy is super awesome!! she always treats me with respect and has never cut me!!! I have alot of Vietnamese and Combodian friends and have learned some of the language.When the snotty owner is speaking in her own language, you better beleive it isnt anything nice. The other day, I saw them wiping down the foam shoes that are suppsoed to be thrown away after every use and placing them in the buckets to reuse them. Its rude and socially disrespectful to be speaking in a language that your clients do not understand when you are calling them ugly (xấu xí), fat (chất béo), and etc... khuôn mặt xấu xí / kinh tởm/ dữ quá! If you encounter these phrases, they are not calling you sweet or nice.I would recomment Princess nails or Aspara Nails in Portland! Beware of the management at MAGIC NAILS! They arent so magic!!!

The worst experience ever.First my master couldnt make simple drawing what I asked her to do, instead i got horrible drawing, that 5 year old kid would done better.Plus I got charged 15 dollars extra.I really dont recommend you!!!Think twice before you go.I really regret that I even paid money for this.

I have gone there for years, but had very POOR service today and wont go back. I was there over my lunch hour and no one told me when I came in that there would be a long wait because of a bridal party.. Finally I had to leave! They should tell customers if theres going to be a long wait!
