I got my hair done by Madelyn & I’m just blown away! She did better than my inspiration pictures & really went above and beyond!!! I feel so much more confident in myself, definitely recommend her!!

I specifically only go to Madelynn to get my hair done. She does a phenomenal job with going above an beyond your expectations. She’s a amazing. I do some pretty intricate colors and she nails it every time. If you looking a for a professional and fun stylist , go to her. I can not recommend her enough.

I went to go see Madelyn to add a little bit of balayage to brighten up my color a bit and touch up my roots, and I could not have been happier with the results! I’ve always had a hard time getting the perfect she of copper in the past but she completely nailed it. She also did a perfect straight across cut on my hair so I can eventually get rid of the layering I currently have. I couldn’t thank her enough for bringing more life back to my color and also keeping the integrity of my hair.

Maddie Rychlick what is my stylist and I was not only satisfied, I was impressed! I am a “older woman “and I was afraid she would not know how to do my hair or cover my grays but she did both! Maddie gave me some highlights, she cut and styled my hair and listen to what I wanted and gave me helpful suggestion. My grays were Covered in the color did not safe for a long time. Everybody there was professional, and cheerful, the place was clean, and they all took appropriate Covid precautions.

Just went to Dosha and saw Madelyn to get a hair cut and gloss. I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome she did an amazing job and I love my hair !! Feeling super happy and confident after getting my hair done by her 10/10 would recommend her to anyone !!!

I went to see Tammy Horger. I had not had my hair cut or colored since Jan of 2020. It was super grown out, split ends, and in need of serious love. It turned our amazing. I actually shed tears of happiness. Better then I could have imagined. I cut off almost a foot of hair and added bangs. Which is a big change. She was careful and considerate of the changes I wanted to make and made sure I got what I wanted. If you are looking for someone book with Tammy.

Dosha Salon took on a project with us! We had a total of 10 women getting their hair and makeup done alongside the bride. We started at 9:15 and ended by 11:45! They were prompt and ended on time which is a big deal considering how many weddings I’ve been to where hair and makeup runs late forcing photos to be cut into. We chose to go to the salon and I would highly suggest it! We had the whole place to ourselves! My bridesmaids hair all lasted throughout the entire day and their makeup was fabulous. I didn’t put any guidelines on makeup and the makeup artists did such a fabulous job making them look like natural beauties! I was thoroughly impressed with my hair! Kim did my hair on my wedding day and Courtney did it the day after, they train their employees so well that it was a complete replicate. Both lasted long throughout the night and I had so many compliments! They were able to keep my hair curled and pinned up. I would highly suggest this salon for wedding day hair and makeup!

I went to Jake after taking recommendations and reading reviews. I was very anxious since he was new to me, and my first haircut since way before the pandemic. I have short to medium hair, and Im extremely particular. I want someone strong and confident enough to style me without too much direction based on my face. Jake instantly made me relax, I knew I was in good hands as we became quick friends. He was speaking my language... familiar with fine hair and knows how to make it feel and appear fuller. His suggestions were music to my ears.... yesss! Someone knows my struggle is real! I just relaxed and enjoyed getting to know him, hes hilarious. He gave me an amazing cut and suggested some sun kissed highlights... so glad he did! My color is the bomb! Really flatters my cut with lovely honey and Carmel tones. I visited Dosha a couple days ago. They took extra care with their covid safety measures - attending 1 person at a time, switching out smocks, and setting up individual stations. I really appreciated that.Of course, they also did a phenomenal job on my hair. 😃

All the stylists were using best practices to sanitize between clients. The salon has a new minimalist look without magazines and items that would harbor germs. Jake has been my go to stylist for years. He gives me a lot of attention--massage, great color, great cuts--he never does a bad cut. And he sees the things I dont see and fixes them (like the fine hair on my jawline that will show in my upcoming photo shoot; he also tells me where I can get lashes; he fixes my eye makeup when I arrive with unflattering color). The value Jake brings to my feeling of confidence in my presentation (b/c he makes me look way better than I can myself), in the way that he cares about my life, and his respect for people will keep me coming to him for life. Kirsti at Bridgeport is absolutely amazing! She gave me the best haircut Ive ever had! Shes also a complete ray of sunshine every time I see her, and is one of the kindest souls Ive ever met! It was a treat getting my hair styled by the talented Master Stylist Laurie French. She is a top-notch stylist who pays attention to details. I highly recommend her! Also, the shampoo, scalp massage and hand treatment were so relaxing. I left looking great and very relaxed. 👍

If you can book him, Jake at Dosha Bridgeport, will give you an unreal salon experience. His cuts and color will have you looking like a million bucks!!! He listens to what youre looking for and makes it happen. Hes a riot to hang out with while youre getting your hair done, hes super professional, and makes sure youre happy, relaxed (hell even give you a head and upper back massage) and feeling beautiful! The rest of the Dosha Bridgeport staff is always lovely too- helpful, knowledgeable and friendly!

Made an appointment at 10:30, arrived 10 minutes early, told me I had to wait until 11:15. I made an appointment three weeks prior and after waiting an hour, they tell me they don’t have time for hair coloring after I made an appointment for color. Horrible service very rude staff and definitely won’t be returning. Don’t waste your time here.

This was my first visit to Dosha for hair services (weave and cut). Jake listened to me, and did a great job with both the color and the cut. He had an assistant check my color while it was processing and the assistant also rinsed out the color and washed my hair. She did a great job of keeping Jake informed about how the processing was going. Especially for a first visit, I couldnt be happier. The only tiny improvement would be a first rate scalp massage during shampoo. Very friendly environment. Its pretty clear that the clients here know the staff well. Lots of happy interaction.

Laurie French is amazing! I have a hard time finding a stylist that I go to consistently and I had randomly booked an appointment with her and she was terrific! Shes honest with what will and wont work with your hair type and she is super consistent every visit. I would HIGHLY recommend her to everyone!

I LOVE my colorist/stylist Bailey P. I came here from the Los Angeles area so am SUPER picky and I finally found my gal. I have very long blond color treated hair. I get compliments so often because she really does such a good job. It’s got a top shine that is more platinum blonde but still can see all the different color textures throughout. She’s very skilled at her craft. I’ll never use anyone else as long as I’m still living here.

I usually love this place. I am always satisfied with their haircuts and highly recommend it! However, at my [first] brow wax service a small strip of skin above my eyelid came off with the wax, and it is still healing three days later, and probably wont be completely healed for another week.

I have been going to this salon for several years. The people have always been nice and friendly to me. Eric Howell is the one who always cuts and colors my hair. As I have curly hair it takes someone who knows how to cut it correctly. Eric always does a great job. I love coming here and seeing all the stylists and their clients are great. There is no pressure to buy products, and the experts will show you what they have and let you choose what you want, even if it is nothing. I enjoy the tea they always give me to drink while I am there. I have wonderful memories of a great space and people. I would highly recommend this salon and I will be going there for the foreseeable future.

I got my hair bleached and dyed which took 5 hours all together, which is fine I have a lot of hair and was expected. But my stylist pulled my hair constantly as she brushed it (given there were knots, but I havent had it hurt before from other salons) and the entire time it hurt as she kept doing it. When she got a knot close to the ends of my hair she would rip it out, and since she wasnt gentle, pulled out more hair as well just brushing. When I was getting it bleached as well, maybe it sat too long or something, but my hair started to smoke and burned a small part of my scalp. Now im home and the whole experience was miserable, my entire head hurts, and I paid quite a lot for it. I unfortunately wont be back because of cost as well as how I was treated by my stylist. However the manager called to apologize and I greatly appreciated it.

Eric Howell is the best. He knows hair. He is great at listening to what you want and the eye to tell you what will look good. He is truly talented. I have been seeing him for many years and I can truly say that he never disappoints. He highlights my hair as well as cut. I have thick hair that had always been a struggle before I started seeing Eric. He thins my hair in a way that still leaves it looking full but manageable. And he is great with my color. I frequently get people complementing me on my hair. He always makes sure I am happy with the results. I always look forward to my appointments. He is genuinely a good person and he always makes me laugh. The Salon staff are welcoming and friendly. I recommend Eric and Dosha 100%.

Eric Howell is a GOD of hair! I received a cut you just can’t get somewhere else. I never tell Eric what to do because he is the expert and he has never disappointed. Always on point! Flawless! The worst period in my adult life coincided with the years I was not getting cuts from Eric. Coincidence? I think not! I was a regular customer for many years, following him from 23rd to Bridgeport and I will be a loyal customer from now until he retires. I cannot recommend him higher. The premium you pay is worth every penny!!!

Go see Mikeala! I’ve never had a better experience. She’s very warm and friendly and really listens to what it is you want done. And trust me when I say, she will make your hair look exactly the way you wanted it if you bring in a picture! I’ve had my hair done by her a few times now fixing a horrible balayage that was done by someone else, as well as giving me amazing hair cuts, so she’s very good at both cuts and color. She’s also gone as far as teaching me how to curl/style my hair when I’ve asked her. She really takes her time and never makes you feel like she’s rushing to get you out. You can definitely tell she’s a perfectionist 👌🏼Her rates are really great! I suggest going to see her now before they go up!

I wanted to write a perfect review for this salon, because the stylists here are wonderful and a joy to talk to. However, I think the company is so desperate for money, they dont exactly teach their stylists properly when it comes to certain things, namely hair extensions.I scheduled an appointment with one of their VOMOR extension certified stylists to see if I could get extensions. I am recovering from anorexia and I know my hair is not in the best of shape. It used to be gorgeous, but has become extremely fragile due to nutrient deficiency. I specifically asked the stylist first thing; Is my hair too weak and damaged for this treatment? I made it clear I did not want extensions if it was going to make my hair even worse/more difficult to grow back. The stylist emphatically replied, No, of course it isnt! and proceeded to get me extremely excited about getting my gorgeous hair back with extensions. Vomor claims their extensions dont damage the hair, but its a blatant lie and I am proof of that. Again, I dont think the stylist lied on purpose. I really think they just wanted to help me get my gorgeous hair back, and they didnt know any better because the company didnt teach them any better.My hair looked so pretty with the extensions and I was happy with them for a while. However, I could feel the extensions pinching my scalp every time the stylist applied them, the pain never went away, and it seemed to get worse after each application. After wearing the extensions for about 7 months, and spending an immense amount of money, I decided to give my hair a break to see how it was doing. Im glad I stopped, because my scalp hurt all over, and I ended up getting traction alopetia from the extensions. I have lost about 70% of my hair, and I am more miserable than ever.I was afraid to write this review because people I know also go to this salon, and they are happy with their (non-extension related) services, so I didnt want them to get a bad name because of me. But, I am too devastated to not write this. Other people need to know.If you have any doubts about extensions damaging your hair, do not trust the salon to give you an honest scientific opinion. Because I am also recovering from anorexia, I already have terrible body image issues, and now when I look at my hair, I want to fall asleep and never wake up until its back. I cry every day and I dont want anyone to see me. Im almost glad there is a stay at home order, because it gives me an excuse not to leave my house. Due to my past eating disorder and having a hard time getting the nutrients I need, growing my hair back is beyond difficult now with this extra unnecessary damage.

I’ve been going to Dosha Bridgeport for years(pretty much since they opened) and am always impressed by the stylists. I also love the feel of the salon, the lighting, the tea they offer when you arrive, the hand massage, and the care they take in really listening to what you want. I highly recommend Dosha to anyone looking for a wonderful hair salon!

The staff called me on short notice to tell me that they needed to reschedule because they didn’t book it for long enough, even though I confirmed when I booked it that it was for long enough. So I got there and they rescheduled for the next day with a 25% discount, which I was happy about until I got to my appointment and was told that I was with a level 3 stylist and it would start at $165. So my discount was useless because my service was more expensive. Nobody told me that it would be with someone more expensive then the girl I originally was going to have, who started at only $120. Someone should have mentioned the price difference when they booked it. That wasn’t right. I paid the normal amount that I would have had I seen the other girl , so it wasn’t really a discount I feel. I should have got a real discount for the inconvenience it caused for me since I don’t drive and had to have a babysitter for my kids both duds instead of 1. Not happy with the communication.

I went to Dosha to get my hair fixed from a previous bad cut and color from a different salon. I was greeted by two very nice young women. I then met Anjuli. She was very sweet and made sure that she knew exactly what I wanted done before she even started. Since my hair color was a huge issue, she made sure to get a second opinion before she put anything in my hair. By the time I was done, my hair was back to being soft, healthy and just the color I wanted. When I left the woman at the front desk was super funny and sweet and really made my experience great. I will be going back for more product and another hair cut when its time! Thanks!!!

I have long, wavy hair that was so incredibly damaged, I thought there was no hope for it. I really wanted to keep my length, but wasnt sure it was possible. Eric Howell was amazing! He cut all the split, dead ends off, gave me some soft layers which made my waves become beautiful ringlet curls. My hair has so much more volume, shine and movement; I couldnt be happier....and I kept more of the length than I thought possible. I love, love, love my hair again.

I have been going to this salon for almost 7 years now, and all I have to say is wow! I love the experience I get here and every time I come in, I leave feeling great and loving the way I look. Everyone on the team is fantastic and welcoming. Laurie is who I usually see and she has so much experience with what she does. It is clear that Laurie loves working with hair and her large clientele basis speaks for itself. Overall, 5/5 stars for being overall amazing and wonderful!!!

My experience was above and beyond anything that expected from the salon for a males haircut. I have received haircuts religiously from barbers most of my life. After my experience with Jessica at the dosha salon in Bridgeport I will definitely be returning. She keep me well-informed of what was going on during my haircut. Eric is amazing! Im admittedly the laziest person about my hair. If it takes longer than 15 minutes to style in the morning, Im not interested. He accepted the challenge and made me look great with a cut that was easy to manage.His color skills are also out of this world! I came to Dosha for a corrective color consultation after a series of unfortunate hair color events at another salon. I was immediately felt at ease with Kirstie. She was sympathetic and reassuring. We talked about what I wanted and if it was reasonable. She formulated a plan of action and then got a second opinion from a master colorist. We discussed cut and color and cost.I made the appointment and when I arrived our initial plan wasn’t going to work as expected given the state of my hair. She quickly came up with an alternate plan and began work. It was A LOT of work. I felt comfortable with the change in plan and she was always professional and answered my many questions fully and with a degree of confidence that I valued. At the end of my appointment, my hair is great! I could not have asked for a better outcome. I walked in with an embarrassing color catastrophe ( I am not exaggerating) and walked out a bombshell. Thank you Kirstie and Dosha for making me feel like me again!

I got a hair cut from the lovely Lauren Yauney. She was amazing! She took her time to explain the process, ask about my hair, activities, and what I wanted. She listened to what I said and gave me ideas as to what we could do. She also gave me pointers as to how often I should wash my hair, product details that will help keep my hair nice, and help build volume. She’s wonderful go see her!

Dirty disgusting salon, rude staff, outdated and over priced. They constantly try to sell you more then what you went in for.

Lauren is amazing. She has been cutting and coloring my hair for years and always does a fantastic job. She has great ideas and her clients satisfaction is her highest priority.

I have very fine thin hair which can be very challenging to cut. Jake listened to my concerns and previous trials and tribulations. I am so happy with my new cut and color I think it’s the best I’ve ever had! I’ll definitely be back!

Lauren Yauney has been cutting and styling my hair for several years now and she always does a fantastic job. My hair is difficult, but she always manages to make it look its best. I also enjoy her bubbly personality!

I had a very disappointing experience at the Bridgeport Dosha Salon and Spa. They did a poor job on my hair cut. It looked like somebody put a bowl over my head and cut along the line. I told them it is not acceptable. They argued that I did not give them clear instruction. I spent at least 5 minutes to describe the simple common hair style. A second person came over to help. She felt the hair cut was already too short. Neither of them knew what to do. They left me sitting in the chair for 15 minutes, and told me they went to look for a photo of a hair cut. They came back only showed my one photo after 15 minutes of waiting. A third person came and improved the hair cut somewhat. They made me pay the full price. I did tip the third person. I got home and found that my neck was covered with small pieces of hair, one side of my hair is longer and thicker than the other. I went back to the salon. I was told that everybody was gone. I was told to come back the next day and see the manager. I went back the next day. The manager blamed me for not giving clear instruction on the hair cut. She was very cold and condescending. I told her that I had a disappointing experience. She offered no apology. I spent 3-4 hours, and $65 for a mediocre hair cut, and a lot of insult. My overall experience is that they are rude and incompetent.

My whole family has been getting cuts here for years and love it. Great environment lovely people who really know what theyre doing. Heather did an amazing job cutting my long hair short and Kim took 5 hours out of her day to get my girlfriends hair exactly the way she wants it. Highly recommended.

Courtney always does an amazing job. Came in frumpy and came out fabulous!! I do wish the company would take care of the salon. Chairs and mats are torn badly. The mats could be hazardous. The floor meets the mirror is filthy with cut hair that has been in there for years. The vent has so much dust the particles fall on the clients which I have had the experience. You have a great staff now let the salon show this too.

Olivia is amazing! She works with my schedule, my quirks and always gives a healthy honest opinion. All the employees are incredibly welcoming and competent!

My stylist is fabulous & crazy skilled!The repetitive texts, emails & calls AFTER confirming with a human over the phone is disrespectful. I confirmed. Dont send 4 more messages asking me to confirm.Space is really dated, visually unpleasant & not at all spa like.

Eric is amazing!!! My family has been going to him for years and weve never been disappointed. Hes always up for anything, classic or new and crazy. Hes done just about every color for my hair. Absolutely brilliant visions and style.

His personality makes me feel like a million bucks with his uplifting personality every time I see his face or I hear the name Eric Howell. So grateful for that man!

The folks at Dosha are always courteous and able to help me find an appointment time that will work with my busy schedule. This is an Aveda salon so they offer lovely tea in addition to quality products that are kinder to the environment. Anjuli does an amazing job (and checks in to make sure the style is just right)!

Dosha certainly wouldn’t understand the plight of a single parent! Don’t go there no matter how well behaved your children might be. Disappointed in their views and treatment. I would expect better!
