Waited 45 minutes for our car, along with several other groups of people, despite having a reservation. Staff was nice enough, but it caused us to check out late for our hotel and change plans. Car was out of gas - they basically said when we return it to try leave as little as possible so that we don’t lose money on the gas. The car was dirty and had used earplugs and trash as well as a crack in the dirty windshield. Would highly recommend using another rental service.

I found Kira and Veris’s customer service skills exemplary. They conveyed a true effort to be sure my family was comfortable and our needs were met when renting a vehicle. I’ve had one terrible experience with another car rental company (aka Shifty Car Rental), but Enterprise was great. There was one billing question I had from my reservation, and I called ahead. Ryan assured me over the phone that everything would work out with my slight change of plans and it did. When we arrived our agent was new and from our city. He was friendly and welcoming. Great people, easy pick up. We arrived right at open (8am) and were pleasantly greeted and given a car right away. Ryan(?) called a few days before our reservation to confirm our arrival and answer any questions I had, which I found to be a nice touch. Great place to rent a car.As a bonus, its very close to the Red line rail that goes straight to/from the airport.

I had initially completed the rental through a third party and thought I selected Portland Airport. Due to availability the rental was actually through the one of the down town locations so when I went to the airport counter I found out my mistake and then had to take a taxi to the correct location. The airport did not have time to transfer me so I had to pay over $50.oo for the ride. At the correct location I found out my reservation was given away because I was an hour and a half late. The agency had my number and had even called me the previous day to confirm I was still coming in so I was very disappointed they did not try and call me again instead of giving my car away. I saw a car I wanted as a replacement but was told it was reserved already, why my reserved car was given away and I couldnt get this car did not make sense to me and I had to wait for a similar car to be brought over from a different location. I did bring up these concerns to Ryan when I dropped off my vehicle and he comped me for the taxi ride which I did appreciate.

When was the last time you felt HEARD by someone on a phone at a business that you called? Its hard to think of them these days with all phone calls going off-shore and generally to call centers. Im so impressed by the professionalism of Cole, the gentleman I spoke to this morning at the Enterprise store on SW Pine in Portland, OR about a current reservation we had. It was a Monday morning after a long weekend and I assumed he would be busy and he picked up the phone and quickly spoke and said he was working with someone and would be with me as soon as possible. When he got back to the phone, he made me feel like I had his undivided attention. He addressed a concern that I had to reassure me of the availability of a car for an important trip in a way that gave me the absolute confidence that he was my guy that would take care of my situation to the best of his ability. He took personal responsibility for the process that had to be done to make sure it worked well for us. I couldnt be more impressed and its because of the people like Cole that I have encountered at Enterprise that causes me to use them whenever it is possible to do so. They have a better price than hertz, better cars than hertz, a much better costumer service than hertz, and the most important, they wont cancel your reservation without a reason but hertz do.

Enterprise was very easy to work with. What stood out the most is that I was treated with trust. Yes, I showed my drivers license and credit card, but I wasnt harassed to buyextra insurance which is typical of most rental car agencies. It was an option, but they did not continue to upsell me. When I returned the car, they simply asked if the tank was at 3/4 as agreed which it was. They didnt go check it with me standing there. It would have been fine if they had. I get the reasoning. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and I would definitely rent from both Enterprise and this specific location again. Customer service was great!

Great service and rates. Minus one star for the actual location itself. You pick up your car in a dark dank basement. Not enough light to check your car out for any damage. Seriously, put in some lights. The exit and entry is one in the same narrow ramp going up to street level. The folks that work there are really great though. Since we wanted to spend a few days in Portland before heading to the coast, we took the Max downtown from the airport to our hotel and then picked up the car on our way out of town, stopping at the Japanese gardens on our way out. Public transport downtown is everything it is said to be. Very simple and convenient. This saves on parking and on the car rental airport fees, but walking and public transport is just much easier than parking. The downtown location is easy to find and the staff very accommodating. The inventory of compact cars was a little short, but we didn’t mind waiting a few minutes for our car to be hosed down to get what we wanted. There was a larger car available, but we chose to wait. This is understandable since there is not a lot of space to store vehicles, I would guess. The one drawback is that we had to carry our bags down a spiral staircase from the office to get to the car. There is an elevator down to the basement, but getting to it requires going out and around on the street. We judged that a minor inconvenience for leisure travel. I am guessing someone on business would be in more of a hurry, but we came to chill.

The website allows you to book cars that are not available. We wanted a compact car and ended up getting a free upgrade to a van. This was extremely inconvenient due to mileage and comfort. While the staff was very friendly, we were disappointed in this business practice. Imagine if we were a family of 5 that reserved a van and when we got to the shop they only had compact cars available. Ill be extra cautious the next time I book with Enterprise.

I was not notified before traveling down to this location(that was a huge hassle) I would have to have certain payment cards.I truly hope enterprise will reconsider how it delivers costumer service. We will not rent from enterprise again.

Great place to rent a car. Convenient location, helpful and friendly staff. Excellent service. You can drop off the car after hours by parking along the street within a few blocks (no issues finding a parking lot and parking if free after 7pm) and the enterprise folks come and pick it up for you. They also call you to let you know that they scooped up the car. Would recommend!

Good service. Car wasnt clean and had a very worn interior. Functioned just fine though, no problems. Location to pickup/drop off cars is difficult to get in and out of, a steep one-lane driveway to get in AND out of an underground parking garage. A bit scary!

I live in SE Portland and it would be easier to rent closer to home; however I choose to rent from the Downtown office on Pine Street as I have found this location to be convenient off the MAX line, as well as extremely courteous (as are all Enterprise offices I’ve encountered). But I consistently come back to this particular location because I’ve always been treated well, upgraded to another vehicle if needed, received fast service and I simply feel like I can always count on Enterprise Rental, which is why I consistently choose them over other car rental companies. I also like that they are family owned, have great rates, and I now appreciate their stance on gun control/stepping away from the NRA partnership (one of the first companies to do so too).I recommend Enterprise to friends and family as they have consistently treated me right and always make the experience smooth, easy, fast and hassle free. :) Thanks Enterprise! ~ John

The staff is always friendly and the cars are always clean. I never have to wait long for my reservation. I would avoid the you click, we pick option. I ended up with an extended cabin pickup truck for touring around Portland and the surrounding country. It was a bear to find parking, maneuver around crowded tourist sites and terrible on gas. You are charged for a compact car but could end up with something larger. I was happy with a compact but figured why not chance it for a standard or intermediate. I never though it would go to the opposite end of the scale.A pickup isnt even an option on the site where I rented. Luckily I didnt get a cargo van. For the $2-$4 you save to possibly get a larger car over a compact (standard or intermediate), it is not worth it. I was told by the staff that it is their way of getting rid of cars that nobody reserved to maximize availability for other cars.

Ive rented from Enterprise in different cities and always find their cars to be in very good repair and clean. The staff are customer service oriented, too, which makes the experience easier for me. I will continue to select Enterprise first when available.

Any time I need a car I always look to Enterprise. Their customer service is BY FAR the best in the industry and their cars are always new and super clean. I had a great experience with the staff here and the location of the office is super convenient in the Pearl District. They even talked me into a cheaper option than the one I had booked to help me save a few dollars. Outstanding job!!! I will definitely be back here on my next trip to Portland.

Horrendous customer service. Ive been renting from enterprise for years and the staff here is awful. If you return after hours, they make you park within a two mile radius and you need to pay for parking and take responsibility for damage the might occur on the streets of downtown Portland. Holiday? Yup pay for parking for the full day because they are closed and want to enjoy their holiday so you better not be selfish about wanting to return the car to a secure location. Hate stairs? Well they offer the spiral staircases of death which is the only way to get down with bags, and if you have lots of bags dont selfishly expect them to give you a hand. Check the car for scratches? Better not since they will rush you to get out the door. Bill amount doesnt add up to the reservation? Better sign quick since they dont care and gawk at you getting a lower price.

Just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to Ryan Williams. I rented my car from the Enterprise airport location earlier in the week. While I was at a baseball game, my car was broken into and my passport was stolen Wednesday night. I brought the car to the Pine Avenue location and talked with Ryan, and he offered a large vehicle, but said to come back later and hed have a smaller replacement vehicle if I wanted. I did return and Ryan swapped by car with another car without any problem, and said hed make sure the airport location was notified.Ryan went out of his way to make sure I had a car to drive to Seattle to obtain an expedited passport for my trip back to Spain on Saturday. I really appreciate this, as it lessened my stress of wondering if Id make my flight back home. (I did fly back with a new passport in hand). Thank you! Tamara

I experienced wonderful customer service during my last rental. Anticipating a roughly 5 hour drive, I was VERY specific about requesting a car with satellite radio. The car I received did have satellite capability, but would not receive the activation signal even after more than 30 minutes of listening to the preview channel. The representative in the office was kind enough to locate an Enterprise location on my way who was willing to let me swap cars to one with working satellite radio. Such a relief!! Enterprise will definitely be my go-to rental choice for road trips!

There is nothing more frustrating than arriving to find out the vehicle class you reserved and then confirmed just days before is not available. I was upgraded to a large SUV spending a lot more on gas over the course of a week. I also struggled to find a parking spot in a small city on more than one occasion.Having said that my original price was lowered due to the car class change and then again when I returned the car a day early. This price was by far the lowest of any other rental company in town. I will try Enterprise again.

Decent prices compared to the rest of Portland. Pleasant staff. They were REALLY busy the day we came in, we ordered an economy cheap car but they were all out so we were fortunate to be upgraded to a Dodge Charger, was hell fun to drive.Luckily we were just two as they didn’t clean the back seat. It was full of cracker crumbs and a pair of children’s underwear!So weird! However, not worth complaining as we were happy to have a fun drive.

Easy in, easy out. However, the guy checking us out did not give us an option when it came to daily insurance. Made it sound mandatory and only a one time charge of $25 when it is actually daily. Enterprises only saving grace is they reduced the final bill to a one day charge of $25. I am seriously considering not using them again if they cant train their staff any better than that.

When making the reservation there were other rental car companies with cheaper rates but we chose this location solely based on the reviews and because were regular Enterprise customers.We had some issues with the customer service when picking up the car. The process was quite rushed and the branch manager, Anna, didnt want us inspecting the car at all it seems. Make sure to check the gas tank level matches whats on the contract.So why am I rating them 5 stars? Because when we dropped off the car, Ryan asked us about our experience and we were honest with him. He was extremely apologetic and corrected the situation immediately. The customer service Ryan provided was stellar and made up for the initial experience. Good on him for saving longtime customers from walking away from the company. Also, the person that picked us up (Mark?) was on time and very pleasant.We would definitely rent from this location again.

My job sometimes requires me to rent a car (in and outside of Oregon), and by far the rentals are always cleanest and newest at the SW Pine Street location here in Portland. More importantly, to me, the customer service I receive at this location is second to none. The entire staff is friendly, accommodating, fast-moving and hard working. I rented a car over the weekend and Kevin was awesome! I would recommend this Enterprise to anyone, even if it means going a little out of your way. Well worth it.

Had a wonderful customer service experience at this Enterprise with Christian Wells. Courteous, accommodating, and professional. Rented an SUV via Expedia, realized that wasnt a guarantee of AWD after the fact. Christian got my what I needed without hassle.

When I called and told them there were 6 of us to pick up, they said not a problem and were there in about 15 minutes. The guy at the front desk greeted us and got the paper work done, BONUS they upgraded our vehicle from a 7 passenger to an 8 passenger. Had enough room for all 6 of us and room for luggage. The third set of seats were as comfortable as the rest. The return process was quick and we were taken back to the train station on time. All personal were cherry and easy to work with.

We always rent from Enterprise. Great service, good cars (though they could be cleaned a little better). And, the most important - they dont charge extra for adding the spouse as a driver. Employees are courteous and efficient. I highly recommend Enterprise.

Convenient downtown location. Quick, fast service even without a reservation.We were served so quick that the staff who attended to us did not point out where all the cars gears, buttons, etc. were.We both drove a different car from our rental and it was a bit tricky.We also asked for directions but was given an unclear, very quick-get-on-your-way instructions and got lost a few blocks out.We saw another Enterprise Rental on Couch St. and stopped to ask for more directions and this time was given CLEAR and concise directions. Kudos to the (staff) gentleman outside before 9am on Thursday, Oct. 5, getting cars ready.Overall, still good.....better yet, go to the Enterprise Rental branch somewhere by Couch St.. I feel they will go the extra mile to help customers out.

Did not have a car ready when I arrived. Tried to force me to take a full sized pickup truck. Not good. Nissans are pretty crappy cars. You can do better. People are friendly and courteous. Will use you again but hope you can do better.

The car was nice and clean and worked out great. However, I was missing four gallons of gas when I returned it and I was charged $5 a gallon for them to refill it! Just go to the gas station and fill the tank to avoid any surprise charges like this. Customer service was good, and I had a young driver fee and it wasnt that much!

They picked us up from the train station and had us in our car in no time. Great team of people working there - friendly and helpful. They even dropped us off at the Max line to get to the airport after our stay. My only recommendation would be a bit more light in the garage, especially when checking if you left anything in the car (Im sure the staff would appreciate that too).

We rented the car for a month, and it was new and ran perfectly. However, the entertainment system did not work. We had ordered Sirius but it would not connect as the agent said once we waited. The next day we stopped at another Enterprise where a very helpful and patient staff member tried to activate Sirius. Having failed that, he wrote a new contract so we paid only for one day. Later, we discovered that the time settings nor radio stations would not remain when the unit was turned off. We finally spent the month without radio. The car, however, was fine. I hope it somehow gets fixed before too many other renters have trouble.

Good pick-up at the Union station Amtrak train. Good directions out of the city. Good price for the week. Sorry they did not have a reasonable drop off for the airport, but I knew this going in. Got back in the city 30 minutes before they opened but one of the crew was kind enough to accept the car even though I had not ask. Gave me a head start on getting out to the airport for my flight home. No problems, no surprises - what more could you expect from a rental? Drove 38 hours of road time according to the meter covering most of OR.

I have had to rent a car for the past 6 weeks and the staff at this branch is wonderful. I recently rented a car from Enterprise in Portland , OR for 2 weeks, (9/24/17 - 10/7/7), at their downtown location at 445 SW Pine St. I had a very positive experience. The staff was very friendly, courteous, professional and helpful. Picking up the car and returning it was fast and hassle-free. No pressure from staff to purchase what i didnt need. I received a free upgrade. And the price was great, much lower than the competition. I put over 1700 miles on the car, and had the best vacation of my life. Couldnt have done it without Enterprise.

This Enterprise office is very accommodating, friendly and efficient. We got a pickup at the train station, signed the paperwork and were on our way in very little time. On the flip-side, I called in advance to let them know we needed a ride to the train station, dropped the car off and they returned us to the station. I rented the smallest vehicle on a Sunday for $20/day rate. I called ahead and was able to reserve same day. Unfortunately this location ONLY picks you up downtown within their radius-- it will NOT cover the other locations pickup areas on the weekends. I think this is a service that Enterprise should consider working out. On site, I was in and out within minutes. I appreciate the rate, convenience, and timeliness of the staff.

Customer service was fine and the car was in good shape but I was really quite shocked to discover the compact car I rented had no cruise control. That was very inconvenient considering I had the car for a week and drove well over 800 miles. This is the first rental car I have had in years without cruise control and it never occurred to me to double check before I left the lot.

Standard enterprise location. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The garage was tight for the SUV we rented, but thats the nature of a downtown car rental location. The Murano they gave us was very nice and a fair price. Id definitely rent from them again.

My wife and I use Enterprise whenever we can as they are very consistent in service and the cars are clean. We picked up this car from Pine Street location in Portland and dropped it off at the W. Burnside St. location. The staff was polite and helpful and the car was ready at pickup and we were quickly taken care of when we dropped it off and they provided a short drive that we requested.Well continue to stick with Enterprise.

This place was great! Just a 40 minute MAX red line from the airport, and a couple blocks walk. The MAX was easy to find at the airport, and car rental place was located in a great location downtown.The staff that greeted me, were very professional and friendly. Upgraded easily to a slightly larger car, and was close to the freeway entrances.The only reason I didnt rate it 5 stars was because when I returned it, the lady that checked me in and helped me with my bags set my laptop down on the floor of the garage in the water from the car washing station. I was glad it didnt get soaked, or I would have complained.Just a suggestion; if youre going to be washing the cars in the garage area, then maybe look into a waterless wash? Both my bags were set down in the water (not sure why she didnt set my carry on onto its wheels)Will definitely rent from again!

Found a rate of under $50/day for Thursday through Saturday of our trip, but about $100/day for Wednesday. Called and talked to Jessie, the manager, and she was able to put our two bookings together for $50/day. I also mentioned that I had Entertainment Book coupon for free double upgrade and she put that in the notes so we got a very nice car for a very reasonable rate. So appreciated the great customer service, and would be glad to rent from Enterprise again.

The Enterprise on SW Pine Street is a great location for visitors to rent a car in Portland. The prices are much more competitive than cars available at the airport, and the office is a short walk from the Old Town station. The staff was polite, and the car was well maintained.

I proposed to my now fiancee a few days before arriving here. We took a trip down to the Redwoods and were going to drive an SUV down there. After talking with their awesome staff, they hooked us up with a new Camero, which absolutely made the trip. I will have some of my best memories from that trip and the car definitely contributed to that. Highly recommend .

If you’re staying in the Portland historic Pioneer Square or Pearl District and need a car for a couple days, Enterprise on SW Pine is the place to go. They’re easy to find, hassle free, and professional. I was given a choice of vehicles with no upsell and was on the road in just a few minutes in a very nice BMW X3 SUV. A great experience!

We were not impressed with this Enterprise. They required so many proofs and wasnt aware all that paperwork was needed to rent a car. FYI. My debit card matched everything on my license. If my husband wanted to pay by cc, why does it matter who is driving the car or not. We wont be using Enterprise again! The car wasnt even ready! I felt like I needed to leave a blood sample & urine sample just to rent a car.

First time I have ever rented a car. It was so easy and the staff are super knowledgeable and quick. I would however rent from another location if you are not staying downtown, only because well then you have to drive downtown...

Online booking allowed quick pickup next door to our hotel. On return we had to catch the red line rail to the airport with 2 suitcases and 2 wine cartons from Willamette Valley tours. We were jumped to the front of a 5 person line of new arrivals to check us out. Enterprise then drove us to where we could catch the red line, finding a back access through a parking lot because the street nearby had construction work that prevented curb access. The driver helped us with all our luggage and wine. We caught the red line in 15 minutes of our arrival. Superb service!!!

Great customer service, speedy access to the car, vehicle was clean and presentable, all at a decent price. The main reason I initially came to this location was because of its hours of operation, VERY CONVENIENT! Next time Im in Portland, Ill be sure to retrieve my vehicle from here.

This Enterprise has the worst customer service I have ever experienced when renting a car. I reserved a car in advance through my employer. I selected the “special” through my employer, which stated that I could get a compact or larger or similar vehicle for the price of a compact/mid-sized. When the Enterprise employee took me into the garage, she told me that I could only get a van, since they were in lowest demand. She said I’d have to pay an “up-charge” to get a compact and it would take 20-30 minutes to find one. Overall, a very deceptive business tactic to get rid of their worst vehicles. No employee wanted to work with me to fix this problem, they showed attitude and enjoyment in the difficulty. I will likely never use Enterprise again. Poor customer service does not deserve return business.

My experience was great. I booked a reservation online same day. Came in realizing I booked for the wrong day and they immediately helped me fix my reservation. They realized that they didnt have the car I initially reserved and they gave me a complimentary upgrade. I was even allowed to choose the car. The whole experience was wonderful and I appreciate their deligence in taking care of my needs. I will be returning and renting with them in the future.

On a month-long Insurance claim rental there was seamless coordination between the insurance adjuster and the local Enterprise staff. I received an extremely favorable insurance discount rate and was upgraded to a full size car. There was a bit of confusion with the length of Rental Car Coverage under my policy and a lack of communication from the insurance adjuster, even though the Enterprise representative called me several times during the extended rental period just to check in. It was only when they coverage had been exceeded by a full 10 days that the insurance adjusters screw up was discovered and then my body shop gave me a loaner car but I still had the problem of 10 days of unpaid buy insurance charges by Enterprise. Once again the local Enterprise representative went to work and sharpened his pencil and made a substantial reduction in the amount of out-of-pocket charge I would have to pay by making an even further discount from the negotiated Insurance discount rate I was paying for the full size car. When I did drop it off I was able to just leave it at the body shop in a completely different part of town and a representative from a different Enterprise store in very far out Southeast Portland picked it up from the body shop. Overall I got 2 Star service from the insurance adjuster, three star service from my body shop which took way too long for the repair, but five star service in every regard from Enterprise.

Enterprise consistently provides friendly, efficient service. However, the staff at this particular location was exceptional: super helpful and accommodating, and lovely to deal with.

Appreciated pick-up/drop-off service. Everything went smoothly. Staff well organized & helpful. Price was reasonable, car ended up being an upgrade without an extra charge.

Amazing staff and great vehicles! I use this location to rent autos for business and each time I have an excellent experience. The staff are always upbeat, professional and have even accommodated my very last minute rentals! 5 Star all the way around!

The only reason I didnt give them another star is because they didnt just hold the deposit on my card, they submitted it to my bank and then took several days to refund the over 150.00 over charge, causing my bank account to over draw. They should NEVER actually submit a larger amount (especially of that size) and I have never had a rental company do that before - they did hold that until I ended rental but not charge my account - VERY Inconvenient and should not be legal.

I had a very positive experience with this branch. I chose to take a cab here from the airport hotel to get a significantly lower rate than at the airport. The money I saved for the week will let me take another trip. I was able to select the car I wanted and I was able to drop off the car after hours on Sunday. Any one wanting to save money on car rental, I recommend this.

The staff at this location was extremely friendly and professional, but unfortunately I had to give the location 4 stars for just that- the location. In order to get to where the cars are parked, you need to descend a steep spiral staircase down into an underground garage. I was traveling for pleasure and had the luxury of being in comfortable clothes, but Im sure most people travelling for business (especially anyone in heels) would have an uncomfortable time on that staircase. We opted to rent an SUV, which highlighted another issue with the space- I had to inch the vehicle back and forth in order to make the immensely sharply curved ramp up to the street level without hitting the concrete wall. This was especially stressful because obviously the car is rented and youre thereby liable for any damage, which would include any scratches against the too-sharp-and-too-close-for-comfort concrete wall. As previously mentioned the service was great and would definitely return again- but next time well probably rent a compact car.

This location didn’t have the kind of car I wanted when I came in. They scrambled to find one and prep it in a hurry. And they cut their rate to make up for the delay. That’s good service.
