Saw NY band Upstate tonight. What a fantastic fun upbeat young band. Original music sung in beautiful 3 part harmony by three women, backed by three men on bass, sax/keyboards, and Cajone (drums in a box). I didnt know anything about this band, and that speaks volumes about how great this venue is. Small, intimate, not a bad seat in the house. One of Portlands best venues, if not the best. And definitely see Upstate if you get the chance.

This place is a cozy and intimate venue. There is a bar as you walk in. Its not huge but do not underestimate your server, you will appreciate her drinks plus a decent selection of beer. The main music room has 50 to 60 seats and the balcony has room for maybe another 20. Theres standing room too. Definitely check this place out.

A great experience once again at One Longfellow. Robyn has been a great influence on the music scene for over 40 years. The fact that he could be here in our small town in such an intimate room was remarkable. The fog of emotional ambiguity that hangs over his deeply poetic lyrics was partially lifted by the banter of his transparent mind between songs. With the help of Longfellows amazingly talented and attentive sound engineer, Chris, the depth and richness of his enduring music was presented on one acoustic guitar, one harmonica, one fabulously intricate and unique voice and vision.Major kudos to management, staff, and volunteers for their commitment to maintaining this valuable venue.

I really used to enjoy coming here and relaxing in the sun as I read a book on a bench or just sat to enjoy the day and watch passerbys. But lately I have not enjoyed my experiences at Longfellow Square. There seems to always be the constant odor of urine and/or a few of the local homeless are sleeping on the benches. Oh well.. Hope you enjoy the rest of Portland.

What a sweet little place! Saw Anais Mitchell, it was just the right venue, every seat (Im guessing around 100?) Had a perfect view of the stage, I was in the back back, and it didnt feel far at all. The sound was excellent, not too loud, just right. Hope to get back there soon!

What a lovely little venue! I saw a wonderful show, it was a great environment and an intimate setting. I loved everything about it except, like much of Portland, parking can be a bit of an issue. Leave extra time to find a parking spot. And hope that it hasnt snowed recently, LOL. I drove around a bunch of side streets, couldnt find a spot and ended up in a parking garage that was about a five-minute block from the venue. So the lack of a fifth star is really more about me having to walk several blocks when it was a little bit slippery on the sidewalks and also having to pay twenty bucks to park. The venue itself was great.

Funny performance space, and a bit small but some fine performers over the years. Last show was Leo Kottke, always a fun time, striking his curious balance between a stunning fingerstyle Americana technique and off-kilter stream of consciousness storytelling.
