Great local store guys in here are always helpful and go out of the way to make sure you get what you need with out over doing it. They do free water test as well.

I have a 75000 pool that I buy chem for at this location. I spend about $200-300 a month on chem. I got to the door today to have it locked in front of me at 3pm. Time to find a new place to shop.

Ive never shopped at pool store with more knowledgeable and dedicated staff. Mitch and the crew did wonders for my familys ancient pool system and piping. The store, although franchised, is family owned. Every time I return to Plantation, I stop by to see if any of the family is working. Theyre great people who go out of their way to satisfy their customers.

The staff here are so very friendly and accommodating that I just had to let everyone know about the great service I experienced. Im a new pool owner so I lacked the proper knowledge to service my pool and they really took the time to explain everything in great detail. They just earned a life long customer! The staff is the best. The boss even stayed late one Saturday just to test my water. (I was running late and lost track of time ) 35 min after they closed he let me in and water was fine. Did not upsell me anything. Great place. Go test your water now

Pinch a Penny Plantation is the place to go for all your pool needs. I have been using them for over 10 years. I recently had my pool renovated and I was very nervous with trusting a company to do the Job. Jeff the gentleman in charge of the renovations was patient with me throughout the whole process. I love my new pool and I even cried when I saw it for the first time.

This is my one stop shop for supplies and advice on all my pool needs. Mitch and all the staff are very knowledgable and helpful. Ive never owned a pool so i needed alot of information and advice. Ive been going to this store for YEARS and always had good service, able to ask questions and they were very helpful. Recently had pool pump motor die - went in and Mitch was very helpful - looked it up on computer and saw what motor they had replaced years ago so made that easy. (This was Sunday). TOld me they were busy so it would be Tuesday before the repairman would get there, OR maybe Wednesday at latest. Wednesday mid-day I called to find out if he would make it - the person at store gave me a story about the repairman had all the tickets on his truck and had called in sick, but he wrote me up a new ticket and promised fast service, would definitly be there Thursday. Thursday mid-day I called and they promised he was coming THursday. Friday morning I called as no one had showed up and the person on phone told me he would definitely be there Friday, and as each and every person told me, the repairman would Call before he went to the house. NO call, but I was at the house Friday afternoon when he showed up. He complained to me about being sick (which I feel bad for, but I dont want to hear about it) and finished the job. I went in to the store on Saturday and Sandy (one of the owners) was happy to take my credit card but did not seem to give a hoot about my problems all week. SHe only told me that her employees should not have promised me a time the repairman would be there. I told her that was not my fault, and if I had known it would have taken 6 days to get it fixed, I would have gone elsewhere. As I was to leave, she offered me a free bag of salt. I told her no - I would get my chemicals, etc elsewhere. If it had been my first visit and not a repeat repeat repeat customer, I almost could expect to be dismissed, as I was. THere are plenty of pool stores in south FLorida and I will try a few more to find a new one but I will not be back to Pinch A Penny in Plantation. Good luck to the rest who expect any kind of quality service from them in the future.

Staff very and helpful. Great sales

Recently the store has adjusted their hours to be open until 6pm. Before knowing this, I dropped off my sample and containers at about 5:45pm and proceeded to come back around 6:10pm. The door was locked and lights were off. No one communicated to me that they were closing in 15 minutes when I told them I would be right back. Worse yet, the next day I came by at 5:30 and the door was locked with the lights on and no sign explaining they left early. Since then I havent been able to reach them by phone. Besides they are overpriced and slow. Not recommended.

Bad service and weird policy about using your own chlorine jugs instead of exchanging old ones for new ones so if you get an old one from another pool stores exchange then your stuck with it holes or not. Take your buisness elsewhere

I was sold a variable speed pump by the owner, Mitch. He told me more than twice that it would save me $50 a month in electricity. He didnt say up to $50 a month He said it would save me $50 a month. Its not even close- maybe $15 a month. We talked at length about it- FPL has a great website so I told him exactly what my electric bill was and what my electric habits were. He assured me that I would see the savings - when I called after the first month to let him know that I wasnt seeing the savings he promised, he told me to wait another billing cycle or call FPL.I called FPL. My old pump was only using $32 a month - no way I could see $50 in savings. My credit card company says that since it was a sales tactic and not in writing they cant help me. I cant return the pump since I paid for installation and donated my old pump. So, BEWARE of their sales tactics, and get it all in writing. He told me that this $600 pump would pay for itself in a year- more like 3 years. btw- when I called Mitch after I called FPL he didnt bother to call me back. After waiting 3 days for a call back I disputed the charge.The sad thing is that I was referred to this company.
