Rebuilding did our energy audit. They were very knowledgeable and professional. My Sound Home Plan is guiding me through all the improvements I need to make to have a more comfortable and cheaper home! Lucy even took extra time to talk to me about solar, HVAC and heat pump options.

I got a home energy audit back in February from the team at RTP back when they were called CCI. I think RTP absorbed that nonprofit and now the two are one entity. Anyway, the energy audit was super helpful for identifying a lot of things that we could fix to help us out.We used to have to run a heater AND electric blanket at night during the winter because our second floor bedroom was sooooo cold at night! When they came to do the audit, they discovered that we literally had NO insulation in our roof. No wonder we were so cold! The best part of the whole thing was that they not only can give you suggestions of trusted folks to do the work, they give you instructions on how you can do it yourself if you need to! That was soooo helpful :)They seriously provide so much information and help make sense of cost savings vs upfront costs etc.

We loved our Home Energy Audit experience through Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh! Formerly CCI, the team has been doing this for years and are highly regarded for their community service & expertise in greater Pittsburgh. There are several reasons we got a home energy audit. First, we wanted to do our part to reduce our energy consumption to be better stewards of the planet and to mitigate climate change. Second, we noticed drafts of cold air last winter and hoped for clues/diagnosis for what might be the culprit from a neutral party. Third, we had a home warranty & we knew their meticulous work would potentially uncover things that a home inspection wouldnt catch. Our AC actually gave up the ghost before they came for the audit, and still Lucy was nice enough to advise on energy-efficient choices for repair vs replacement. Lucy & Patty are highly knowledgeable and professional. After the audit, you get a comprehensive customized report with photos, recommendations, & impact analysis. They arent there to try to sell you on services. They do have a roster of vendors who they have vetted for quality work & fair prices, and you can get estimates from your own vendors too. We ended up going with their recommended insulation company Mincin and loved them. They insulated our attic & another area flagged by the audit that indeed turned out to be the cause of the cold winter air blowing into a bedroom. Patty also discovered a carbon-monoxide hazard we did not know we had (water heater backdraft). When I had questions later, Patty & Lucy answered my questions. In sum, we highly recommend getting a home energy audit from Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh. *Also, every team took thorough covid precautions which we really appreciate - masks, temperature checks, health survey. Great service, highly knowledgeable people, great thing to do for efficiency & eliminating waste.
