I’ve been using Fort Pitt Classic Cars for my 1968 Mustang GT for many years. Great work at fair prices for regular servicing and minor restoration needs. I recently decided it was time to let the car go after almost 20 years of ownership. While talking with Ron, he mentioned that Fort Pitt also had a consignment selling program. After speaking with Colin, I knew that going with the Fort Pitt program would be the best way to get the car sold at the highest price. Colin has a great deal of expertise in the classic car marketplace, particularly Fords. They’ve recently completed a number of high dollar sales/transactions, and the consignment fee was reasonable for the services performed. I worked together with Colin to come up with the initial selling price. It didn’t take long to get a final sale (to someone in France!) at a price just under the initial listing price. It was really nice to let someone else handle all of the work associated with selling the vehicle – vehicle prep/pictures, listings (on multiple websites), dealing with inquiries, dealing with pre-purchase inspections, and validating the funds transfer. Trying to manage a sale to someone outside of the U.S. would have been a challenge – Colin and the FPCC team handled all the details. I highly recommend working with Colin at Fort Pitt if you are looking to sell your high-end classic car.

I have a 1970 plymouth duster that had broken down over this past weekend. I called on Monday to have car towed over and repaired. I also had a list of things that I wanted done to the car. I was told that the lot was full and to call Wed morning around 8 am. I was also told that if it couldnt be picked up Wed it would be by the end of the week. I call today and get told well were still busy call on Tuesday. If i cant even get the car in to be looked at how long will I get pushed off. I also didnt like the nonchalant attitude I received. I understand you are busy however my vehicle matters too. You guys cost yourself a long term customer. I found a local shop who did accommodate me and appreciates my business.

I have been an FPCC customer since 2014. During that time they have worked on three vehicles for me. They completed a frame-off restoration on my 1971 GMC Jimmy 4X4 in 2018 and are now doing the same on my 1971 Chevrolet C-10 pickup truck. The other vehicle was evaluated and was not worth restoring so FPCC stored it for me until I sold it.FPCC has been a full-line vehicle restoration shop the entire time that I have done business with them, but their facilities, depth of staff, array of services and delivery capability have improved every year. They are now excellent in every department - body work, mechanical, detailing and storage. I havent used them to sell anything yet but other reviews indicate proficiency in that department as well.None of that would matter much if Ron, Colin and Co. werent good people to deal with. Restoring and maintaining classic cars and trucks is a very expensive hobby and the vehicle restoration business is rife with shady operators who take advantage of that reality - and their customers. FPCC has been unvaryingly honest with me and their communication skills are excellent. We have worked through many problems and issues together as unexpected things always come up when you tear into an old, rusty, greasy and malfunctioning vehicle. FPCC has been good to me and I have been good to them. The results speak for themselves. My Jimmy was just featured in Vintage Truck magazine. FPCC took it down to the frame and made it new again. I was and am so pleased that I am having them do it all over again. Try them, you will like them.

My experience has been nothing but superior at Fort Pitt Classics. Their top notch technicians to their management team has been nothing short of exceptional. I’m sure I’m leaving out many people who worked on my 1965 Land Rover - but many thanks to Colin, Ron, Anthony and Jason U. Their patience with me was greatly appreciated. When an issue reoccurred on something that was Initially fixed they sent a top notch mechanic to my home - fixed the issue - and even drove it back to their garage - more than a 30 minute drive. Folks - it doesn’t get better than these guys to work on your classic cars. The best around.

I cannot say enough positive things about Fort Pitt Classics. I had my 72 Ford F100 to every shop around Pittsburgh. After months of trying I was going to change the entire engine since no one could find the problem. My wife found Fort Pitt on google so i found them. I drove my truck to them not realizing they could not work on the truck right away. The manger Colin Kleer came out to look at my truck. I opened the hood and he found a line was hooked up wrong on the distributor and carburetor. Colin pointed it out, and gave me direction on what to do. At the gas station I made the line change and was on my way. after 4 shops and $2500 all it took was 30 seconds and no parts. i know the truck picked up 100horses thats how badly it was off from a vacuum line hooked up to the manifold not car carburetor. I am upset at myself and other {knowledgeable mechanics} for dragging this out so long. If you are looking for some place with real classic knowledge, Fort pitt is the place to see. i will be back for work in the fall.

Votech quality with professional pricing. In Rons defense, I was a victim of a bad body man and poor mechanic that were fired as I was pulling my unfinished restoration away from Fort Pitt for overcharges and poor workmanshipI held on to borrowed wheels (from Ron) as compensation for unsatisfactory results causing Ron to be quick with his lawyer. The wheels were returned with out litigation and Fort Pitt wanted a chance to remedy the deficient brake system that the now displaced head mechanic designed and installed. I thought it was odd that upon pickup of the car (tow) that the entire mechanical staff was treating me like gold. The car still sits as the alignment of the front end is still way out. The mechanics knew this.I could go on and on with unsatisfactory workmanship and disappointing losses.I am a small business owner as well and hindsight is always telling.Colin is a great guy but he had just started employment with Ron as my car was his first project to oversee.Rons work is a sum of his people and good people are hard to find.I should have taken all the red flags more seriously.Jim Carradine.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Colin at Fort Pitt Cassics in selling my 2008 Mustang Bullitt. Colin handled everything in in a professional manner from marketing the car to closing the sale. The car sold for what was really top dollar on that car. The process was painless. Saved me from marketing the car, dealing with calls and dreamers, negotiations and the hassle of closing a sale. If you have a specialty car you are looking to market I would definitely recommend working with Fort Pitt Classics.

Simply a great experience overall, no bad taste dealing buying a used car from this company and Colin was a very honest and helpful person. Bought my 1999 Mercedes E55 sight unseen and everything went well, no surprises when the car was delivered and best of all, it is everything I have come to expect from the car and the person representing it. Im a business owner myself and it is very important that we treat our customers the way we ourselves want to be treated. But it is all too common for used car dealers to over promise and under delivery, however, I will not hesitate to buy from Fort PItt Classic again. Keep up the good work Colin.

I had a great experience selling my 92 VW Cabriolet with Fort Pitt Classic Cars! Colin was very helpful throughout the entire process - answering all of my questions without hesitation and providing me with honest feedback. From the start, Colin was transparent with me about the potential value of my car and all of the possible outcomes. He worked with me to find a buyer that was the right fit for the car and for me. My experience with FPA started as very positive. I consigned my 1989 BMW convertible worth less than 1/10 of the value of most of the beautiful cars they sell and store. Ron was skeptical, but open-minded and considered the opinion of a young employee who felt it was worth the effort. After that initial contact, I received no information. No communication until I got a bill in the mail for storage. To their credit, I contacted the new office manager, Lori, who was lovely and helpful. One day recently, I was showing someone the listing and saw that it was SOLD Wait...what?!?!?I spent the next week +trying to get information about the sale of the car and a settlement sheet. I finally got a check, but I have no idea whether the sale price given was accurate.Bottom line- I am not impressed with the level of communication or professionalism. Perhaps this is because my car was truly not of the usual caliber Fort Pitt handles.

Dont go here! Upon meeting the team, they seemed nice and the owner made his pitch how they focus on drivability and safety items before they let the auto leave. Well, after 5 months and about $15K spent, I found that not to be the truth. They did not contact me unless i reached out to them, and was made to feel like I was bugging them when I did. Unbelievably rude! Claims were made on progress on the car that didnt happen when they said they were. Parts that they knew they needed to order were never ordered over months so that they could not complete my work within my deadline. Then when I got my car, there were scratches on the car that they refused to take blame for and my convertible top didnt even close correctly after asking them to fix the top!5 months and $15K later Im sick about the experience. There are definitely better places to go.

I called Fort Pitt around 9 am on Monday of this week to inquire about an appraisal of my classic car. The lady who answered the call said the gentleman I needed to speak with was on the phone and would call me back. I waited until 4 pm the next day to state that I had not received a call back (which I thought was reasonable) and the same woman who I spoke with the day before was extremely curt and offensive stating that they were extremely busy with this and the other and made every excuse why the person didnt get back to me. She then asked me to email her pictures of our vehicle so they could review and would get back to me regarding doing my appraisal on Sat/Sun of this week. I sent the photos immediately (which was Tuesday). I had not heard a response from them so I called back AGAIN on Friday morning to see if they knew of a time/day they were coming out and the lady then gave me a thousand more reasons why they have not responded, but would call me by the end of day to give me the day/time. Well.. its Saturday night and I have not been contacted. I believe my story speaks for itself. I wish them well in their business of excuses, but have absolutely no desire to do business with a company who doesnt have integrity with what they say let alone what they do. ADDENDUM: It is now Sunday night and I just received an email from Ron who gave me an estimate on a 51 CHEVY after apologizing for the one week delay, but stated he spent a lot of time examining my photos and researching our car. He gave a value of 12,000 to 17,000 for a 51 CHEVY which unbelievably isnt the vehicle that I asked in my email with pictures and the SUBJECT line that stated a 51 Mercury. Clearly he never looked at the pictures, but did state he would do a formal report for me at a cost of $200. I did think it was a week wasted, but now I know it was blessing in disguise to not use their services.

Im been an employee for this company for over two years, and cant recommend FPCC enough. The service technicians are top notch. They were able to diagnose issues on my personal vehicle a new-car dealer service center could not. The best part about working here is seeing all the satisfied customers getting their classic cars back on the road.

Fort Pitt Classic Cars is a great place. My 1987 Corvette went into their shop for a clutch pedal giving trouble. Colin took ownership of the project and kept me up to date of all details during the diagnosis phase. Jason found the clutch was bad and needed replacement. Colin sent a very detailed estimate and called to walk through each line item. He made it clear that work would only begin with a customers full understanding of the project. Once the transmisson was removed we learned that the throw out bearing was bad. Colin sent pictures of all the parts that were bad, and asked Jason to explain all my options. The team also recommended preventative work including a rear main seal since the transmission was removed. Jason also replaced a brakeline. Lastly my igniton key was frozen in the column and no other shop could solve, however Jason really knows Corvettes and found the fix. Colin was available for any questions through out the entire project. When I went to pick up the car I was overwhelmed to see the amazing work going on at the shop with so many great cars. The shop is a great place to hang out as well. This kind of service is outstanding and I would totally recommend using Fort Pitt Classic Cars. Thanks for the great job, Colin and Jason!!!--Brian

Recently used Fort Pitt Classic to sell my 1986 Alfa Romeo. Process was exceptionally smooth. Colin took charge of the project to sell my car. After detailing the car so that it would show well in photos, FPC then researched my vehicle to assess its value. Coming into the process I had no real sense of where my car fell on the value scale. FPC came up with an assessment that exceeded my expectations. Within days of advertising the car on his website and in other publications, Colin was in contact and in negotiation with a potential buyer. After conferring with me regrading the potential buyers offer we were able to counter offer and reach a sales price that we were both satisfied with. Having someone else do the negotiation took out any emotional connection I had with the car that I owned for 28 years. The buyer was out-of-state. So having FPC take care of all the back and forth communication was especially beneficial. And once the sale was finalized, having FPC arrange for transportation was a real bonus for both the buyer and myself as the seller. Could not have asked for this sale to go any better than how Colin and FPC were able to successfully complete it. Thanks. Highly recommend their services.
