Horrible Experience!! I have been living here for two years and over the last 6months or so has been a nightmare. I put in a maintenance request over 3 months ago because my unit doesn’t have a working dryer and the water wouldn’t drain in the kitchen, no reply. After going into the office someone from maintenance came fixed the sink but not the dryer. NEVER have they answered my emails or calls and the app seems to be a waste of time. Being here this long I would like to stay but my lease is up soon and if things continue this way I definitely will not be resigning or recommend anyone to. I have never seen a rental company so unorganized and negligent. The buildings were recently repainted which gives the place a nice look but I feel as though other things could have been done to have a safer environment for us. More cameras, the gates actually being closed and not just open for anybody to come in. In the picture is how the gate stays about 90perecent of the time. Multiple break ins and car thefts have happen inside the complex in recent months and in our situation there wasn’t anything that could be done to help. Overall with everything going on this past year I was hoping and wouldn’t expect where I live to take such a plunge. Disappointed in the way things are being handled.

When we first moved into the urban, we were welcomed by staff stating our apartment that we signed a lease for would not be ready for another week. This was wonderful news since we just came cross country in our cars with a dog. After finding out this lovely news and lots of negotiation, we were were placed in an apartment with no air conditioning. This was a humbling experience moving furniture into an apartment with no AC, considering it was 110 degrees outside. Then, when all seems okay, we were faced with more tribulations. Our dryer has been broken for two months and has not been fixed, even after 8 notices given by me. All of the outlets in one of our rooms do not even work and has been mentioned to staff as well. We have come into the office, multiple calls and NOTHING has been done. Customer service by staff is awful, they seem like they could care less. If you want to be told empty promises, and a million and one excuses of why normal issues cant be fixed, then get your pen ready and sign a lease. If not, then I would highly advise you save yourself the anxiety, tears, and headache and do not rent from here! :)

I moved in last month and have had nothing but a great time. From friends and family to supporting me to Leasing agents like ( D ) being nice and gracious. Even though I’ve had work orders I’ve needed to submit the managers and leasing staff have been so helpful as well as expediting my needs to make this transition as smooth as possible for me. Going on two months here and I cannot wait for my lease to be up. Put in a maintenance request over a month ago because my unit doesn’t have cold water, no response or was told they are short on maintenance staff. NEVER answer my emails or calls and the application process was a mess. I have never seen a company so unorganized during a management transition before. I wouldn’t even think wife about resigning my lease here I genuinely hate it. I can’t even get them to reply to get my apartment sprayed for bugs again. I was in a rush to move since my lease was slowly coming to an end and I’m so disappointed how much I hate it here. The apartments are beautiful and the way they painted it looks amazing. But their gates have never worked and one in the back is stuck open and their customer service is literally the worst.

Used to be a great place to live before Greystar management took over.. Now, AVOID this place at all costs. Google Greystar management and read the reviews there. Everything is absolutely consistent with the experience that I’m having now. Zero communication from management. No returned phone calls or emails. Maintenance requests go unattended to. Outside of poor management, my car has been broken into multiple times. It’s just not a nice area to live in, or nice people to deal with for the price that you’ll be paying.

Maintenance trashed and stole thousands of dollars worth of property out of the apartment thinking we weren’t coming back. THOUSANDS of dollars. TVs, shoes, purses, all of my work supplies, etc. the urban was already beyond ghetto prior to but walking in and seeing all of my stuff destroyed or missing……..the lawsuit is going to be impeccable. Do NOT rent here no matter how low the rent is. From roaches to now straight up stealing this is the worst apartment I’ve been in in Phoenix.

Never answer phones or emails. Weed smell from other apartments permeats mine. Its legal, ok, but dont want the smell in my apartment. Roaches, no matter how much I clean , lots of them. No answer to my emails about that. Parcel pending didnt work ( they use a locker system here) for 6 weeks. No one took responsibility to fix it. Now it is back up but not notifying residents when there is a package. Trash / dumpsters often overflow. Sorry. Looked nice at move in, full washer and dryer in my studio, tile looks like wood. Also, when my Fawcett in the bathroom was fixed, the stopper falls down on its own, faucet head falls off. I work nights and never know when maintenance will come.

I’ll start by saying that the only thing luxury about this place is maybe having access to luxury drugs from the homeless people who have housed themselves in the complex. Their website states “gated access”, but since moving here in April, there has never been a time that all gates are shut. Robberies occur frequently, including entire vehicles being stolen! So, if this sounds appealing, then sure, move in! Praise God I only signed a 6 month lease because I could not be stuck here for any longer. I cannot comment on the staff, but I think it says something about them that not much is being done to improve this community. The people they have hired to do exterior work are extremely unprofessional and seem like they found them from the parking lot of Home Depot. Also, for the love of God, please do not let them wrap you into a lease unseen, they show photos of hardwood floors and balconies, but you’ll be lucky if you get either of those.

I booked an appointment online for a tour around the apartment complex and to check out the apartments models them self, just to get an idea of what it’s like to live in one of your nice looking apartments, or so that’s how they look online. I personally never sign a lease or pay anything before looking at the apartment it’s self or a look alike model, never had never will. So I get there and I ask an employee that I was there for an appointment at 1pm 4/22/21, the employee tells me that he can help me, so he shows me a lay out of the apartment, and he tells me a little bit more information about when I can move in and other information. The information was great, but still I was there to take a tour and to look at the apartment. Well he tells me that he can’t show me anything, that there was nothing to show, and that everything was full. I am perplexed because that’s the only reason I was there, for the tour, and if I get interested then I can go ahead and work on the paper work and things of that nature. So there’s obviously a discrepancy here, I would like to know why your website offer me a booked tour to check things out. But when I get there your employee tells me otherwise. Peoples times are valuable, so I don’t appreciate my time being there wasted. The employee was a Hispanic guy, slick hair comb back, about 5’8 or 5’9 kinda of a goatee. So I want to know what went wrong.

I’ve lived at the Urban for 2 years. Is it a good apartment complex? No. Am I looking to turn down the cheapest apartment in the best location in Phoenix during a housing crisis when prices are skyrocketing, wages are stagnant, and evictions and homelessness are at an all time high in one of America’s hottest deserts?? No I’m not. This apartment is just NOT worth the cost. Phoenix landlords need to get a reality check before the whole city gets evicted on these ridiculous prices. The old management company was trash (duh aren’t they all) and this one seems to be run by a few middle schoolers (read their emails, it’s embarrassing). Both companies made a bad investment in a low-income area and a will try to price all of us struggling tenants out to make room for a Whole Foods or whatever is going to gentrify this area next. That’s why they’re painting the whole building but leave amenities-LITERALLY THE FRONT GATE HAS BEEN BROKEN SINCE NEW MANAGEMENT TOOK OVER, THATS NOT AN AMENITY THATS SECURITY- unfixed in order to skimp and save face and charge for appearances. Don’t even get me started on parking. Just expect to have zero parking here and get towed at least a couple of times. I know that it is a privilege to say so, but I’ve never had insecure housing before. For the first time I’m having to think about what will happen if this already mediocre at BEST place keeps adding on fees or raises rent. I’m sure they will, nonetheless, because at least the execs @ Knightvest and Greystar realtors both get to cash the check on their tenants misfortune right?

Currently living here and moving out on the 30th. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Car has been broken into more than 2 times, my oven, water heater and shower didn’t work at time of move in, and now as of June 19th @ 10:30pm my lock for my front door was not working and have been outside waiting for emergency maintenance to call me back and it’s been over an hour and a half and still no response. I have a pregnant wife with twins and a new born with me sleeping in my car with AC. Previous management was horrendous and new management isn’t good either. Our complaints get ignored. I had a maintenance request because our entire electricity in one wall went out and asked them to quickly fix the bar that holds towels in the bathroom because it fell apart to only be told they can’t because I didn’t include it in my requests when requests take about a week to be responded to. Oh also when it was about 3 days of no electricity in that wall my wife called the office to only be told that they “tried knocking and never got a response” when my wife is at home for 24hrs and never heard a single knock. Don’t live here it’s a pile of trash with air freshener sprayed on it.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Overpriced and 100% not worth it. I’ve lived in a few apartment complexes around Phoenix and I have never had issues with noise until living at The Urban. This place is a zoo. Neighbors yelling, dogs barking, children screaming. I truly can’t remember the last time I was able to sleep through the night without being woken up by some obnoxious sound. They charge WAY to much for these living conditions, and they do nothing to remedy the situation. I wish I would’ve known this before I got trapped into this absolutely horrible living situation.

I don’t live here but went for a tour the other day. The entry area of this apartment is nice and so is the front office. Very updated. Then we were greeted by a extremely monotone “hello” from one of the front desk ladies. We told her we were looking for a tour of a one bedroom. She told us some options and prices and then off we went to the tour. The front of the complex might look nice but as we walked through....nope!! The woman giving us the tour took us pretty far back in the complex to show us the apartment available but did not speak to us the WHOLE time. We looked at the apartment, still not word from the woman giving us a tour. Walked ALL the way back to the front office, sat down, and she said “okay here’s a paper with all the pricing etc and you can apply online.” Why would I apply to live somewhere that I don’t even know hardly any information on?! I couldn’t believe how badly I wanted to get out of there! Yikes!!! So happy we don’t live there!!

We took it to the office and the manger yelled at us saying cops were called. Cops said it’s all up to the management and that they will stay out of it. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. RESIDENCE ARE MOVING IN AND OUT EVERY DAYS. Before I moved into the Urban Apartment, one of the office lady told me that the unit that available was a remolded unit. And that was part of the reason I wanted to move in but, that was a lied. It was not a remolded. However, it was unfortunate because when I signed the lease it seems like it was over due to their careless services and feedback. When I moved into the apartment, the cabinet drawers was already broken. Few days later, when I used the microwave, the handle was also broken. It look like the microwave handle was glued back in by the maintenances. Not to mention, few months living in this apartment, everything started to fall apart. The dryer took about two hours to dry my clothes. The washer water was running cold and it didn’t even wash my clothes. The molds were everywhere in the bathroom and the ceiling. The tub was cover by a wall paint and eventually the paints were started to peel off. When I reported theses damages, it took them about 5-6 days to came over and fixed these damages…. Not to mention, The toilet was leaking and they took three weeks to fix it. I was there in the office everyday asking the office employees when were the maintenances coming to check the leaking toilet…. they were Irritated by that. What even worse about this apartment is that, I have three bedrooms apartment, they only gave me one parking lot. (I have roommates. we have three cars in total). Sometimes, some random people parked at my parking lot. (not my roommate’s cars). Beside, the dumpsters were overloaded almost all the time. The trashes everywhere on the road’s way and it smells disgusting. In addition, the workers who work in this Urban Apartment were very widely held and oversimplified. They will judge you base on who you are. Theyve treated me like I don’t live in this apartment. They don’t care about their residences. They will charge you 43 Dollars fee if you wanted to pay with your visa card. Again, The front office workers were rude and will lies about everything. what made me upset was that ANTHONY WAS THROWING MY PAPERS AND MY PHOTO I.D. WHEN HE ASKED ME FOR STUFFS. HE HAS SOME-TYPE OF GRUDGE AGAINST ME. MARISSA HAS A VERY BIG ATTITUDE, SHE WILL SAY YOU HAVE MY WORD BUT NEVER GETS THE JOB DONE. AND AGAIN, THAT WAS A LIE. NEVER AGAIN WILL RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT TO FRIENDS OR FAMILY. IT NOT WORTH WHAT YOU PAID FOR. The Urban’s HR need to replace a different office employees and treat their residence better and give their residences a better costumer serviceS…..The only nice about this URBAN APARTMENT IS THE FRONT OFFICE. I GET IT. IT IS IMPRESSION.

STAY AWAY, lesson learned.I would give it zero stars right now. I have been a resident for the last two years, which i actually have a lease renewal coming up. It is 108 degrees in the middle of JULY right now. Mind you I am VERY FAMILIAR with their processes, they have been needing to hire more maintenance staff, honestly since i moved in- clearly has NOT EVER been a priority.Anyhow, I placed my work order Monday night at about 9:23pm.(The thermostat is stuck, cant adjust the temp AT ALL) They allow a 48 hour window to have maintenance fix any issues. Tuesday I knew would be a wash, but as the temp is rising, and mind you I AM ON THE THIRD FLOOR SO THE HEAT STAYS, I got nervous around originally 1pm on Wednesday -today- (they rarely pick up the phone lines, so ive learned to back to back call) after about 6 attempts, the leasing agent picks up and reassures me she will get maintenance up to me right away- long story short they never showed up-they are off at 4pm-I look at the clock and it is 3:58pm-so i call yet again (back to back another 6 times) to be told by another leasing agent- maintenance will be there before they leave.....Lo and behold another half hour goes by (now 4:30pm) we are now at 110 degrees for the day- and they have ZERO empathy because I am not drenched in sweat due to an AC UNIT not working at all, they and I quote said...Well the apt is still cool right?(keep in mind no resident should have to physically go down to the office for help during a pandemic-right there is SELFISH BEYOND REASON)WHAT!!!!! after i was told not once but TWICE maintenance would be on their way THAT DAY!!!! so they try to tell me in the MORNING (next day-this would be 72 hours, when the policy is 48 hours) they will get someone out- NOOOOOOOO what if the AC goes out in the middle of the night, again I am on the third floor, I cant run my oven to make dinner nor do laundry cause the dryer and oven will make it a pure sauna in this STUDIO APT THAT HAS NO PATIO!!!!! but dont worry because the AC unit is still producing cool air- it should be fine- at this point the property manager chimes in stating they will get an outdoor vendor to help- they would NOT provide me the number so I COULD LEGIT CONFIRM SOMEONE WOULD SHOW UP-DUE TO THEIR GREAT HONESTY BEFORE.So here i am a tenant that has paid rent on time faithfully for the last two years waiting on an IF in the middle of summertime in AZ, this vendor actually shows up to help, with the GREAT HELPFUL WINDOW THE OFFICE STAFF GAVE OF... ----they could arrive anytime before 10pm but we cant tell you who they are or give you their number....COOL. SO I AM LEGIT WAITING FOR STRANGERS IN A HOME I PAY $900+ for each month, with no definitive answers.MORAL OF THE STORY-DONT SIGN A LEASE HERE.

THEY TOW CARS HERE! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! So we have been living here for 3 years, we liked living here and always signed a new contract. So my husband takes a work van to work so doesn’t get to drive his car as often as he’d like. But our car still has insurance and tags that are up to date. They said they left a warning but I always check the car mostly everyday. I think they just lied. Finding a parking spot at night is hard too, so why would we want to move our car all the time? So we will definitely take our business elsewhere when the contract expires. Besides that maintenance doesn’t always come when you call them. They’ll avoid answering calls before closing. And as of now we aren’t too happy that after three years of living here they just get our car towed. Definitely not happy. Old management was better.

I would recommend looking elsewhere when searching for an apartment. I cannot wait to move out. The parking within this complex is horrible and leaves me parking outside of the complex on a dark street, in a sketchy area. The gates back gates dont always close and are left wide open at night, leaving the complex not secure. After signing a 6 month lease they are now making us pay for 2 more months rent + a short term rent fee since we did not Submit a 60 day notice, without receiving a notice. I understand its in the contract but a notice would have been nice as we have never lived in an apartment before and had no idea. This is super stressful as my roommates and I have made plans to move out when our lease was signed to and now have double the expenses with needed to pay rent at both places. Within the 6 months I have lived here, I have heard gun shots on multiple occasions at night and a spotlight on our complex with 3 cop cars going into a apartment in this complex.... Another reason why I dont feel safe when the gates are not working.Ive had an amazon package delivered but lost in the mail room.. but this should be fixed in the future as they have added package lockers. The interior of the apartments do look nice but are not worth the experience of living here.

Not only that but there are people at the pool drinking beer and liquor out of glass containers nearly every weekend in the summer.Besides that, the apartments are tiny for the insane prices they charge, there’s no storage space whatsoever, and everything is put together like they want it to fall apart after a year so you can’t have your deposit back. The instant my lease is up I am leaving here and never looking back. For your own sake stay far, far away from here.

We tried putting a complain but the staff here are helpless they told us we had to call security! They didn’t even gave us the number they said we had to look it up ourselves on the contract we signed. They also said they have security but I have not seen anyone fix the problem about the people being so loud in the pools area. There’s always fights or arguing outside in the night and dog poop! Like I said the apartments are okay but you can tell they were cheaply renovated! The tub in the bathroom looks like they just painted it white just to make it seem brand new and clean but the paint is already chipping off, the counter sinks are supposedly polished but when you leave a simple red towel or anything for that matter it will literally get stuck on the counter like glue! Then it will leave a color stain of whatever you left on top of the counter sink! Not planning to renew my lease here for the price I’m paying and for the staff to treat it like it’s my problem only is not okay.

ZERO DEPOSIT DONT DO IT!You are asked to pay so much $$$ in NON-REFUNDABLE fees thats probably why there is no deposit.I had a terrible experience. They take your money and make you get renters insurance and SRP setup first before you get approved or denied. Wast of time and money. Staff has poor customer service. Especially the manager.I had to come back and Edit this post because it got worse. The manager is beyond rude. She actually doesnt listen and just cuts you off as you are talking. She has done it to myself and someone close to me. Unfortunately, the staff arent very helpful if you ask them a question they just ask the manager or pass the phone to her.

The office is very incompetent. They add on charges without explanation. We were told a different thing from every staff member we talked to. Our electric bill was almost $500 for one month in a 700sq/ft apartment. When asked about it they said it was adnornal but didn’t do anything about it until 2 months later. The apartments are fine but it’s not worth the head ache of dealing with the staff.

I recently helped my mom go through the whole leasing process at the urban apartments And needless to say the process was the easiest Ive ever experienced. The staff all the way around is great! Excellent customer service, very attentive and willing to assist. I would recommend these apartments before any others in the area. My mom and i searched for apartments for a few months and couldnt be happier with the choice made. The pricing especially for the area is fair. As the apartment itself very nice modern appliances and the complex is very quiet. If you come check out the apartments speak with Anthony G he will take care of you.

Just walked in and walked out in 30 seconds. Greeted with a rude, judgemental agent who went on to state there were no units available, not even a model apartment to show. Felt like seeing a black man and white woman getting a apartment together was against their moral code. Do not rent here!!! The neighborhood is ghetto as hell to have such a pretentious staff. Gate was broken, other gates wide open, foil on windows, and meth heads walking nearby. Check out Ventura Vista.

Ill start with the fact that the property manager parks in the handicap parking spot in front of the office, EVERY DAY! Shes the worse. She does nothing. She sits on her computer all day. Read the reviews here. She responds as if theres absolutely nothing wrong with the help or the property, blames the tenants/prospective tenants. The property was bought by a new company last year (they kept the same management/people.) Since, they have begun to increase rents to bring the apartments up to prices in the area. Some units are increasing $2-300. Theyre doing it under the guise the units are being remodeled. Not the one youre in, though. They want you to pack up, move into a remodeled unit and pay the rent increase. Theyre increasing the rent, regardless. This is a ruse. They are doing partial remods. Mainly cosmetic. You will be shown the model apartment which has new carpet, GE appliances, fixtures, etc.. The unit you move into will have half (maybe?) of these upgrades. Basically, theyre upping the rent, which, forces people to move, half ass remodeling and charging people the rate of a Scottsdale apartment. This is East/Central Phoenix, mind you. They charge you for a remote that allows you to access the weight room after hours, even though, it states in your lease that you will be provided one. If you lose it, the $50 will apply. The property gates are ALWAYS broke in one form or another. People DO NOT pick up after their dogs. There is dog poop every where. The complex was at capacity nine months ago. Since the rent increases, theyre maybe at 70%. You can surely find a better apartment community elsewhere. Keep looking.

I’ve been living here for over 1 year and the staff has always been helpful when it comes to any issues I’ve had. It’s a great location and the price is definitely worth all the amenities it has to offer, in comparison to other communities I’ve lived in. As with any apartment community, It’s not always picture-perfect but they have definitely found new ways to make it convenient for residents to place workorders, pick up packages after hours, pay rent online, utilize the fitness center, etc. Personally, I would definitely recommend this place.

They tow cars here more than other apartments do because the manager gets percentage of that towing fine. The manager sits in her office just to be on her phone. I have a proof of that and I will send cooperatean email of that. She doesnt have any customer service experience. I travel a lot for work and I have two vehicles in the property, one for my assign parking and the other one is in an uncover parking. I sometimes am gone a month for work so how the hell should I move my vehicle? Today 02/11/2019 I went to the office to talk to the management people and the assistant was with someone in the office and the manager was on her personal cellphone. I am ready to file a law suit against this management . This is the third time they tow my car and everything is updated. They say its a policy and they need space for other residents or people. Am I not a resident? I pay rent on time and I am a resident. I guess I do not fit in their policy? Please dont move here. You will regret it just like am I am right now. I cant wait to move out .

The office staff is so nice and friendly anytime I need anything they are right on top of it and help me anyway they can. The apartment complex staff is always so friendly if they are out on the property they always say hi and ask if they can help me with anything. I`ve been here a little over a year and am getting ready to upgrade to a bigger apartment and I am so excited. I work from home and travel a lot for my job and this is the perfect location. I feel terrible for the property owner because the apartments rent only due to the low cost. I would pay a higher price if they provided decent customer service. I will not be leasing here ever because the manager, Misty, is not organized, irresponsible, and cannot manage her staff. Misty told me she would take note that I would be going in that same day to check out a floor plan when I called early that day. When I arrived in the afternoon, the staff told me that Misty had gone to check it and that it was not ready to be viewed. Why wouldnt Misty call me and let me know to not make the trip to go look at the floor plan because it was not ready? Perhaps it is a small detail for management but for someone who is deciding on where to rent and taking the time to look at the apartment, it is a deciding factor. I dont live in Phoenix, I travel the majority of the time since my clients are everywhere but I need a small place for when I am in town. Moreover, I called again to see if the floor plan was ready and the staff, Keesha, told me there were many available to see and that in the past days she had already leased 4 of those floor plans. Now, either their tracking system is flawed or they are trying to create business urgency by providing false information. The attitude the staff gave me was inappropriate and she probably felt challenged when I asked logical questions. To say the least, management doesnt care about customer service because they know they will rent the units (low cost) but the stigma being created for the property will catch up.If the property owner is interested in consultation from me, I would be more than happy to share my business improvements. Dont create a bad stigma for your property. -Kindly

Maintenance super nice people and usually will come during the day but if you try to call with an issue you usually don’t get a call back. I’m NOT impressed with the apartment complex and the management. And weve asked time and time again to please be quite and respect QUITE HOURS! And the living space of others, the office never seems to understand that we work 11 hours a day and we come home to loud music, kids Runnig around and dogs barking. We also informed the office about the marijuana smell that comes from the upstairs neighbors. It makes our whole apartment smell like that, and causes me to have headaches. Along with cigarette smoke smell from Outside. People sit right outside of our door on the stairs, smoke and throw them on the floor where our front door is as well. Not to mention how they let people swim in the pool at all hours of the night. Our balcony door faces the pool and we have had people start fights at 3:00pm at night, very disturbing !! I wouldnt recommend anyone to live here!!!

Wouldnt even give it a one star, but in order to leave a comment, you have to leave a rating. This property is a joke. The management is a joke. The mickey mouse club maintenance is a joke. In most places you get what you paid for, but that is not the case. This place has to have some sort of section 8, refugee automatic lease, because these dirty, disgusting people, who bring bed bugs, and roaches with them seem to enjoy living here. The trash is out of control. There should be some sort of law, to how many people can live in an apartment, cause I saw over 12 people in a 4 bedroom go out for the day, and they all live in one apartment.Roaches have no fear in living here. They seem to hang out, and have dinner with people on a regular basis. We have taped up our outlets, and even had a chemical high by spraying our own roach spray. Whatever water and soap Burns pest control uses, it doesnt help with the infestation. The management seems to come to work hung over, or high because they cant remember what they told you two days ago. If you like it in the ass, live here. Rent is never what they say, especially when they have control of the water bill.

Ive lived here for a year. As a resident of this HORRIBLE place I urge you to RUN. DO NOT LIVE HERE.My apartment was infested with roaches and my neighbor told me of the horrors that happened in this unit. The infestation was horrible and when I moved in dried roach poop covered the walls. There are specks of poop everywhere you look and when you think you got it all clean you find more. They didnt bother to paint my unit at all, thankfully I did have new carpet. I spent the first 6 months killing what was left in the unit. I finally got the problem under control with no help from the office.FIRE ALARMS WEEKLY. There are building alarms that sound very loudly for fire. Im so used to them at this point that I dont take them seriously at all. The first time one went off I rushed and grabbed my children and loaded them in the stroller, got a bag of clothes and was in a complete panic. I stood outside in the heat of the summer for an hour waiting for the fire trucks. The firefighters came and said it was a false alarm and that the alarm would be turned off. I waited for over an hour with ear piercing alarms going off inside the unit and outside the building. This happened again a second time, this time I just waited outside with my kids no bags packed. False alarm again. Third time this happens and another false alarm. I then cover the alarm speaker in my unit with a thick towel and duct tape to muffle the sound, its still very loud but no longer ear piercing and allows us to stay in the apartment while the alarm is sounding. There have been days this alarm will sound 2-3 times. One day they did maintenance on them and it would go on and off for 30min. No notice was provided that we could expect this annoyance. At this point when they sound I wait by my window to see the fire department come and run out to see if they think I need to evacuate. Even the fire department is annoyed by the weekly multiple trips to this complex. If there really was a fire I would not know it because the alarms sound so often. After a large windy storm we get a notice on our door that trash was found near our building at that if it continues a fine will be given. The dumpster is right next to the building and the storm caused the trash to blow. They sent a notice that cigarette butts have been collecting near the building and that if it should continue ALL RESIDENTS in the building would be EVICTED! We promptly went to the office and found out this was there way of finding the person who was responsible because non smokers would be angry and complain that they dont smoke and the smokers would be the silent ones. So, if you are innocent make sure you make noise about a notice on your door or it will make you look guilty.Maintenance is needed on a monthly bases to fix problems with cheap parts on faucets and doors. They just keep repairing a part that really should be completely replaced. Expect just one knock on your door and the maintenance guy will use his key and walk right in. Ive made it clear when calling for a repair that if I dont answer I dont give permission to enter if Im not there. One day I came home to find a maintenance guy working when I was told he would be there the next day. Imagine being alone, female and walk into your apartment to find a man who shouldnt be there. I promptly told him to leave. No matter how many times we say NO PERMISSION TO ENTER they help themselves to enter. We have asked for a fire extinguisher twice now. They come to inspect them and weve told them we dont have one. They say one will be given but that hasnt happened. We are missing a smoke detector and that hasnt been replaced either. One closet has NO DOORS! They have been missing since move in. The Master Closet door is cheap and hung off the hinge and didnt stay closed.DO NOT LIVE HERE! Worst place Ive ever lived in my life.

This is absolutely the worst apartment complex I have ever lived. First off they called me the day I was moving in to see if I could change the day because they were not done with the apartment. I told them no but gave them a couple extra hours. When we went into the apartment the carpet was soaking wet from being cleaned and it was still dirty, have gum on the carpet in different spots and the blinds were all uneven and some even broke. The dishwasher could not be used because the water pressure was too low. When you called for maintenance it is a minimum of 3 to 4 days then its not going to be fixed right. The buildings have termites and when I told them they were above my bed it still took over a week to get somebody out there. Most of the office staff sucks and are not helpful. When you move you can be guaranteed you will not get your full deposit back. They will send a check with no explanation on what you were charged for. They dont care what kind of people live there. They have gates for a reason but they are always open because they are broke and it takes forever for them to be fixed. The main power shutoff is outside the buildings and anyone can walk by and shut it off, it happened many times. Parking totally sucks. If you have more than 1 vehicle you will more than likely be parking outside of the complex on 36th street if you come home to late...after 5:30 pm. I would not recommend moving here at all. I am actually reporting them to the BBB because of the deposit issue and possibly checking with an attorney. The apartment I moved out of was spotless compared to the way it was when I moved in. They are money swindlers! There is a $300 dog deposit that is supposed to cover any costs that the dog makes during the stay. But when the carpet has to be replaced the $300 becomes a fee to to just have a dog there. Well that is interesting because the main reason why we even signed the lease was because of what they said. Also $450 to replace less than 530 square feet of carpet (a 100 of it not even carpet). Highly unlikely, they put the cheapest quality in carpeting and products into this place. Like I said total money swindlers. Also this apartment is extremely ghetto! People asking if we want to buy drugs. You can smell the oder of marijuana wherever you go. I work second shift and most of the nights I have to allow patrol cars in because they are responding to domestic calls. Almost every night the helicopter circles around. There is very limited space and the people that live here are very loud, there is constant fighting and screaming, children are on the loose at all times of day. Music is blaring, I unfortunately had the luck with have two loud music players, and when you would knock on their doors to ask them to quiet down (late at night) they would turn it up instead and play till 3am.The walls are paper thin, you can hear the guy in the apartment across the hallway cough. It is a gated community, but that is such a joke, more than half the time the gates are broken and are left open so anyone can wonder inside. In the one year that I stayed at the Urban I heard four different times gun shots inside the community.Over all rating for the complex would be a Dand here is whyNoise: ESafety: DGrounds: C+Community: D-Maintenance: C+Over all I wasnt very impressed for the money that I was spending ($700 for a 530 sq foot studio) They didnt include water like any other apartment normally does.
