I taught Preschool at the Early Childhood Education Center at Child Saving Institute and I absolutely loved the children, their parents and the other teachers I worked with. However, there were many instances where staff were placed out of ratio with too many children than what is allowed by NAEYC and the state of Nebraska. This is incredibly dangerous for both the teachers and the children. When I communicated these issue to HR, my concerns were not addressed.Their handling of Covid was very concerning as management was not transparent, lacked basic communication, kept parents and teachers in the dark and even by letting staff take the fall for management’s lack of responsibility and poor decision making.Once when my coworker was mugged and carjacked in the parking lot during business hours, I was instructed not to inform parents... This made me very uncomfortable. There were lots of unprofessional and petty actions carried out by the managers of the ECEC (Kathy Hubbard, Kristen Ruzika) as well. When I spoke up about these issues and even reported to HR, I was ignored again and again. The turn over rate for this department is unusually high due to issues like these. The staff loves the children but they are not treated with respect from the leaders in this company. It makes for a very toxic work environment.

Management is terrible. The supervisors in the are rude, disrespectful and fake. The staff has a very high turn over rate because of this...Many of the teachers are so nice but are not being supported or treated well from up above.Management dealt with Covid very poorly, throwing staff under the bus for their own mistakes and trying to hide Covid cases from the parents and families. Seriously.I reported numerous accounts of mistreatment, micro aggressions, disrespect towards myself and my children, and the unprofessional handling of situations to HR and higher and no action was ever taken. The management is all buddy-buddy with each other so even if you report inappropriate actions- there will be no consequences whatsoever.

Very disappointed overall. My son was placed for 30 days by the judge to have a “reality check” During those 28 days my son reported cursing, swearing, yelling at him by several staff members. I encouraged just riding it out and getting through it doing what was necessary. He only received 1 pass home for 4 hours in those 28 days. Somehow managed to get a cell phone in which is unclear me me since they search upon dismissal and arrival. Clearly need to improve there. Once it was discovered my son had a cell phone the Staff member (Dinkamike Thuch) physically grabbed my son while trying to take a phone from him. When I brought it to other staff attention was not investigated or even taken seriously. When I stated I would be pressing charges I was laughed at by a white male and female staff member (names unknown) and told “would not hold up” and “good luck” This is supposed to be a rehabilitation center for children not where they get physically assaulted by adults. I will say Day time manager Justin was present upon my arrival and did not part take in the conversation however removed himself which I can respect.

My experiences with CSI have mainly been with the early childhood education center. My daughter is currently in one of the toddler rooms and we have been very pleased with her education and care. I love that the center is NAEYC certified, the educators are experienced and qualified, education plans are made for each child and updated regularly, the center regularly communicates with parents, and they stay up to date with the latest developments and research in early chlidhood ed.

Child Saving Institute provides amazing resources for our community unfortunately the early childhood development program is not one of those... I have been taking my children to CSI for the last 2.5 years and have tried to work with the Site Coordinator, the Director and the Executive Director on many different policies and issues that were never addressed. CSIs early childhood development program has the facilities and the organizational backing to be the standard bearer of childcare but instead the program lacks the leadership needed to fully realize its potential. The inability to hire and retain quality educators leads to inconsistent care for the children attending the center. Consistent care and routines are key for developmental growth and the lack of consistency results in CSI hiring temps to cover shifts in classrooms. This leads to chaos and poor behavior in the children as well as stress on the full-time teachers. I would not recommend the early childhood program at Child Saving Institute.
