So it’s been a year and I just resigned my lease! Can you believe they are going to clean my carpets for free? It’s just two bedrooms but that’s so sweet. I enjoy my laminated floors the most however. I am still in love with living here!! My closet space is everything! I spend so much time on my balcony. I had so much fun entertaining my guests at the pool/grill area this summer. I swam so many laps in our beautiful pool. Thank you Parktowne for ensuring your tenants never want to live anywhere else.

Im loving my new place. It very spacious. The whole process was quick, easy and not stressful at all. I was about to move into my apartment within a 1.5 week of submitting my application. I love that I was able to read my lease electronically at my own leisure before signing it, instead of being in front of someone and have that awkward moment between us. Any questions I needed answer I could call or email my apartment agent. Who was very knowledgeable for his job, thank you Shawn. The agents were very pleasant and friendly, made me feel welcome. Also, I love that I have my own parking spot and I dont have to fight for a spot to park my car after a long day of work.

I have been over to these appartments multiple times and my friends who own the place are being evicted for noise complaints that arent true and for the emotional support animal they have. It is illegal to kick someone out for having papers on an emotional support animal and they have 30 days due to this. Kicking someone out for a disability when it is medically and legally perscribed by a psychiatrist is unlawful!

Inadequate parking, inadequate security, inadequate maintenance, inadequate staffing. My neighbors are drug dealers and its obvious they abuse the fee and charge system here. 10 months of grills I cant use, a gym I cant use, a pool I cant use, a 24-hour gym I cant use, and office space I cant use, but Im paying the same rent with no end in sight. You can do a lot better.

We have been living here for a little over 6 months, the staff is so friendly. Never had any issue with pest only some spiders on balcony especially come summer. I love how clean they keep the outside & bushes. Security gives us piece of mind at night. However I just wish the dryer and washer were inside unit instead of right outside. But we are looking into upgrading to a 3 bedroom and we will see how that goes.

This is my third time moving to these apartments and it has been phenomenal every time. Theyre quick with availability when its time for moving in. And the staff is always there to meet your needs at anytime during their hours of work. Sorry but never had to use the after hours number because of the quick service and rapid response from maintenance if ever needed. Laurie the manager has the warmest atmosphere in the business center when you walk through the front doors. From the smell of freshly baked cookies to the professionalism of the staff that greets you at the front doors. The property is very well kept clean and in tip top shape from some of the hardest working landscapers that the Hampton Roads have to offer (seriously). Never trashy outside because of the early morning crew that goes around throughout the whole day making sure that area that you live in is presentable to your standards for your viewing when you want to come outside and just enjoy some fresh air.

The office staff is very helpful and informative when it comes to military families. We have had a few maintenance issues since moving in (the place was built around 1965 so this is to be expected); however, the maintenance team has always been quick to respond and everything is always resolved in a timely manner. The 3 BR townhome has offered us plenty of space, especially in the kitchen. This is the first place I have rented that actually had a decent amount of kitchen storage. I would definitely recommend checking out Park Towne if you are looking for a place to live in Norfolk.

Jovante helped us with the whole process via email, all we had to do was move in once we got back. They are super helpful and you always feel welcome when you enter the office. Maintenance has been awesome as well as fixing things in a timely manner. There is a pool, a gym and two little playgrounds which are well kept and clean. It is quiet and we feel safe. My roommate and I just moved in at Park Towne. These apartments are great! They are clean and pretty well-maintained. In addition, there is a lot of natural light in the apartment which we really enjoy. The grounds are kept very nicely. The staff at Park Towne has been AWESOME from the moment we began our apartment search! Javonte was patient, thorough, and helpful throughout the entire process. In addition, the maintenance staff seems to respond to calls quickly and efficiently. Along with all of these other bonuses, the apartments are in a great location--about a 20 minute drive to downtown, to the beachfront, and to any of the local towns. We are thankful to have the opportunity to live here!

Ive lived here for 3 plus years and have meant to leave a review for some time. From day one, staff has always made me feel at home. Theyll know you by name quickly, and be willing to accommodate most reasonable requests. Ive noticed a lot of complaints about pests, but have rarely had a problem myself. The grounds are kept immaculately. My biggest complaints remain to be limited parking and thin flooring.Aside from those two things, this community has been a hidden gem in norfolk, where you should feel right at home. The long standing community manager isnt joking about her open door policy either. Highly recommend. Ps though the renovation has started on my move out, theyre looking great.

We had the worst experience with these people. All they want is your money. I accidentally set up an automatic payment for my utilities but it ended up doing my rent as well so my rent bounced back twice and it restricted me from paying with E-check which is only the $1 fee, I contacted the office and told them what happened and they said they can’t do anything about the system THEY go through. I actually contacted the system myself and they proceeded to tell me that all the office has to do is check off some things in settings then I’ll be able to again and if the office had any concerns on how to do that they can contact the system, I emailed the office and they haven’t gotten back to me... it’s been 2 days!! They WANT to make things harder on you. Ridiculous! They don’t like their military families. They don’t care about the bug infestation. They don’t clean before you move in! I’m just trying to pay my last bill on the account and they choose to not email me back.... well then I won’t pay the bill.

Where to even begin?? The only word that comes to mind when I think of this place is greedy. If they can charge you for something, they will. On top of old outdated apartments with less then reliable plumbing, they charge $40 extra a month for a washer dryer that hooks up to a KITCHEN SINK and a dryer that is so weak, it takes 5 hours to dry a half load of laundry. I literally would spend half my day just waiting for clothing to dry. Even the tech guy told me the dryer was less then average. Oh and $100 for fake wood floors. Curtains and thermostat break often and the matinence team either takes 7 days to show up or they cant fix it and have to call someone else. Bugs abound absolutely everywhere and they dont spray. I spent more money on bug killer and traps then I should ever have to. Roaches left and right. We got charged $1600 to break our lease because we were so miserable and surprise, suprise another $1800 2 months after leaving for charges that we were never told about or were mentioned anywhere in our lease. Im so happy they think people just have tons of money laying around. There are way better places out there!!!

Im the Dad that dealt with Park Towne. Make sure you have power of attorney while conducting matters for your kid as you will be reminded when you dont. The complex is very safe and outwardly well maintained but thats where it ends. Remember you dont live in the office area or pool house. When my kid moved in I could tell carpets werent cleaned. On my first visit the musty smell was overwhelming. When I purchased an indoor humidity temperature gauge the humidity was 75% and temperature was 72. Purchased a dehumidifier in addition to running the sometimes working central air. That helped but we had to purchase a second dehumidifier. So 2 dehumidifiers and central air to maintain a humidity of 55% in a one bedroom apartment. I cleaned the bathroom fan housing due to the vibration was going to bring down the ceiling. There were so many maintenance requests for clogged tub drain, water leaking in from apartment above it was annoying. We purchased indoor bug spray due to the abundance of outdoor bugs looking to share the space. The corporate management is more professional than the local management. Do not deal with the onsite minions as they all state their opinions as fact and when you follow up with them after an issue or promised service they all have short term memory loss. Park Towne did make us whole when water from the above unit ruined furniture and restoration was required for wall hangings. The convoluted security deposit refund I still and am not interested in figuring out. Most disturbing was the neighbors going to pound town on the second floor at various times of the day but mostly 5am. Park Towne first floor units.

Park Towne has been my favorite complex Ive lived in.Ill start with the negatives and end on the positives:The biggest negative is the noise. Id recommend an upstairs unit, or at the least a unit opposite from the trash can wall. Trash is picked up twice a week and naturally, the garbage people are not very considerate..Tuesdays and Fridays they bang the cans directly against my bedroom wall between 5:30am-7:30am. Theyve also blocked me in the parking lot when Ive been trying to leave for work several times.Wednesday mornings, the dumpsters at the strip mall get picked up which is also plenty of noise to wake someone up. I can also hear all the movements of my upstairs neighbor - although this is, of course, a common apartment problem..its pretty squeaky. There are lots of positives - from the large patios to the ceiling lights/fans, ample outlets and updated entrances. I appreciate the double sink in the kitchen and the ample cabinet space.Ive always had great interactions with the office staff. Ive mostly dealt with Keila, Timothy, and Laurie with any issues and theyve always been friendly and helpful. Im not sure what has caused any other reviewers to say the RPP program was difficult or that the community is not military-friendly - theyve been very accommodating and have answered any questions Ive had.I love that there is a reserved parking space - not something offered at most places. Its also great to be able to walk to restaurants and the grocery store.Ive NEVER had my car broken into here. I believe the off-street and highly visible parking spaces help with that. There have even been a few times Ive accidentally left my car unlocked and things havent been touched. The pool and amenities are great. I wish the deck had longer hours during the summer so the fireplace could be used after dark during the summer days but aside from that, I always enjoyed the pool and grill areas. 24 hour clean and updated gym. The clubhouses hours are great too and its nice to be able to use the business center in the evenings. The grounds and common areas are always kept very clean and maintained as well. My guests are always pleasantly surprised with how nice the resident areas are.Overall, I would renew my lease here indefinitely (after living in several other terrible complexes in this area to compare it to).

We have been living here since June of 2014. We really like the manager Lori Devine, and the maintenance staff ( in particular James and Bo). We havent had any major issues, but whenever we have had issues they are usually resolved the same day or within 24 hours. We started off in a one-bedroom and transferred to a two-bedroom. The main reason we would stay is because of the staff. There are other apartments that are nicer, but I really believe it would be a trade-off If we left. The neighbors are decent folks and its a pretty quiet area considering how many units are out here. The new Clubhouse and pool are very nice, but the gym is a little too high tech for me. :)

If youre new to the area like I was when I first got stationed here, I highly advise choosing these apartments. I looked at well over 20+ different apartments that were either too exspensive or too cheap. This place was perfect for my wife and I.The complex is pretty big and the grounds are actually kept way cleaner than I would expect. Everyday I see Maintence or the grounds keepers riding around on their golf carts or trimming trees or leaf blowing just stuff that you would hope to see in a safe neighbor hood. Speaking do safe. The 24 hour security makes you constantly feel safe. Theyre not just lazy security guards, these guys seem like they really are taking their job serious. So as a service member I feel more than safe here. The staff is very nice and professional. They were very understanding with when we could move in and when we were supposed to move in. But when we moved back, the maintenance staff is still excellent, but there was new staff in rental office, all the new people are INCOMPETENT! I talked to several different people on different occasions and it seems like, if the dont know an answer to a question, they will make up an answer. One example is, I asked for the amount due for my move out date, and the person I spoke with ended up calling me back 3 times with 3 Different amounts each time. Lived here for over 2 years, not sure why though. Constant maintenance problems that were always patched over and never resolved. Car break ins are really bad - my car was broken into TWICE. Flooding is terrible, 3 of my roommates cars were flooded out and totaled during my stay here. Every time it rained, Id have to park my car up the street at food lion and walk a few blocks back to my townhouse. My ceiling caved in downstairs due to water damage, every time it was being fixed, the water was shut off for a day or more at a time and nobody could shower.. This happened at least 4 times, every time they just patched the problem instead of fixing the underlying plumbing issues. My hot water heater busted and flooded the downstairs ruining most of my furniture. Within the day, maintenance arrived and sucked out the water, ripped the carpet edging up and left it in the middle of the floor. It was never replaced or properly ventilated, so it stained and molded and caused me terrible allergy issues. When I moved out, the complex tried to charge me for a complete carpet replacement, even though it was their fault they didnt re mediate the water damage when their hot water heater burst. On top of that, after I renewed my lease the first time, I was promised a complete free carpet steam cleaning which NEVER happened. There was almost always a gas smell coming from out laundry room.Once, our carbon monoxide detector went off and we were told by the office that there was nothing they could do about it.... so we opened up the windows and aired out the unit, and luckily nobody died. They raised the rent on us significantly when we renewed because they were building new amenities (clubhouse/pool/gym), however the construction wasnt complete until 1 month before we moved out, so we were paying extra for something we couldnt use essentially. If there was a fence/gate around the complex, better maintenance service, and more polite leasing office employees, I might have wanted to stay here, however, I am SO glad I left. Im not really sure why there are so many positive reviews here. For the price theyre asking, Id expect a much higher quality of living.

From the day we moved in everything has gone wrong. Our apartment is old and outdated, the floors squeak horribly and there is peeling paint. The water pressure is awful and the cabinets dont fit half of all our kitchen ware! There was no microwave in our unit either! What kind of place doesnt have a basic microwave?? 😦We were supposed to get rent at the RPP price only to find out Park Towne had done none of that paperwork and charged us full price. (Luckily, the military housing office was able to correct it!). Mantinence is rude and lazy. Apparently a broken dryer doesnt constitute an emergency and they gave no concern or care for our wet clothes or the fact I had wasted money on a laundry card and had the machine take my money and not dry my clothes. I hugely suggest getting a in unit washer amd dryer (for an addition $40) because the process of getting money on a card is old and outdated. Its 2018, they should be able to have an app where I can load money instantly instead of going ALL the way to the machine in the clubhouse. Honestly, will not be renewing my lease and already am counting down the days to leave!

My husband made a previous post about Park Towne Apartments when we were in only 2 months. It has now been over 6 months or so and just wanted to do an update. Ill be honest, I started looking into other places now that we are here and settled, but only for the sake of changing it up and NOT because of the apartment. I have to mention this, on my end, because being her now and looking at other apartments that are seemingly nice or luxurious , I am starting to see, its not the case. As my husband and I have been here longer now, I just have to give so much appreciation to the maintenance staff. They keep the grounds very well maintianed. Swept, trash changed, just basic cleanliness but this goes a long way. Just visited an apartment in downtown Norfolk that looked beautiful on the outside but when I came to the hidden walk ways like staircase, elevator etc, it was filthy. No pride what so ever. And as in the previous review, we cannot emphasize enough the office staff. So helpful, HONEST, clear, and prompt with everything. There are minor things that have yet to be fixed regarding our apartment, but this is not on the leasing staff and they have informed me of the steps theyve taken with call backs etc to get these things done. I feel safe with the constant patrol here. The amount of welcome and time they put into you is genuine. I cannot thank them enough. Not sure if we can leave this place. Its honestly too good, the price is great. Includes some fees that residents dont have to pay for which is also a plus. If you havent been here, let this be your first place to call home or at least while getting acclimated to the area. 🤗 Oh and again, we are right in front of Little Creek Amphibious Base Gate 1, if this helps anyone!

We just moved in from California a few weeks ago and worked primarily with Timothy, who is absolutely amazing! He made the transition very easy while we were across the country. When I came for the first time, he was super friendly, welcoming, and honest. The thing that put a little bad taste in my mouth was that while I was in the leasing office, going through and signing paperwork with Timothy, I asked him about where we can place our PODS when it arrived. Unfortunately, the military moving system was down for several weeks prior to the date we were supposed to be moved and that was completely out of our control. Long story short, movers did not show up in California due to the system not assigning a mover for our date and we had to load all of our belongings into the PODS boxes at the last minute. Timothy went to go ask someone else (assuming the manager) and she obnoxiously scoffed out loud saying, OH MY GOD! How long is she going to have them here? I was thinking like really? You couldnt have been more discreet? I was asking where the best place to put them was so that it was not in the way and an inconvenience to the other neighbors.Anyway, the apartment is overall average. We wanted this location though due to its proximity to the Norfolk base and certain daycares that tied in with schools that had openings for our kids. The area is not bad since it is located near grocery stores, gas stations, post office, and public library. Ocean View Park & The Rec Center/Park is not a far drive either. I feel like everything we need is located on Little Creek Road. The elementary school is right down the street and I was surprised to learn that they dont charge for breakfast or lunch for the kids, regardless of income-I thought that was cool! The Little Creek Base (with nice commissary & NEX) is right outside the apartment. My favorite thing about the three bedroom flat is the third bedroom is huge! It is bigger than the living room and works perfect for a bedroom with nice little play area. When the office is open, residents can use the clubhouse/office area. The pool looks wonderful-cant wait until weather is nice and it opens! I have read that this isnt the best area to live, etc. etc. but so far, I have not seen anything out of the ordinary going on in the complex and there is 24 hour security, if needed. The apartment appeared to be clean at first walk-in. However, when we started opening kitchen cabinet doors/bathroom cabinets, refrigerators, it was FILTHY. They need a new cleaning crew. There were food particles that were inside some of the kitchen drawers. We clean our rentals before move in anyway but we had to do a deep clean as if we were moving out! The carpets are a little worn in some areas of our apartments with a few stains here and there-wish they changed them because of the horrible smell it holds. The apartment smelled like pesticides/bug spray BIG TIME. This is my biggest complaint. I left windows open for almost a week straight. I got candles, essential oils, sprays, etc. I left kitchen cabinets open and front door and patio door open while I was home. It has been a few weeks and the smell is still here. I understand the need for pest control, however, there are products out there with very minimal odor. We have kids and this bothers me a lot. My kids and I can taste the smell of the pesticide in our food at times, if that even makes sense. I opened the patio storage area and saw tons of rat/rodent pellets. I really hope this is preventative measure. The walls are pretty thin so we can hear everything. We have kids so noise doesnt bother us. This one is minor, but I wish they allowed us to use our own washer/dryer. Their washer/dryers are older and not energy efficient. Not that it matters since it still washes clothes but now we have to pay for ours to be placed in storage. I also wish they gave a small military discount without doing the RPP program. With all that said, it works for our needs at this time. I will do an update in about 6 months!

Only have had one problem with this place, outside of that the front office people are the best and the maintenance people are fairly good, if youre a first-timer or even if you have had an apartment before you will like this place

Park Town Apartments are great. The area is nice; and everyone you meet is friendly, as is expected with many of your neighbors serving in the military. The location of these apartments are also pretty awesome. Food Lion is right next door which makes grocery shopping simpler, and there are also several restaurants within walking distance (example of nearby favorites: Starbucks, Papa John’s and several others). The staff are excellent; maintenance issues are handled quickly and the maintenance staff are courteous. Also, the different individuals you’ll deal with, within the main office, are always polite, and their relatability makes dealing with them easy. Altogether, the clubhouse is great for accessing the internet, just hanging out, or satisfying printing needs (I was easily able to print all of my coursework for my school). Also, the pool area is great for relaxing or cooking up bar-b-que. Lastly, the fitness center near the pool and clubhouse, is well kept and has enough equipment to exercise every target muscle; with a wide range of dumbbells, several exercise machines, and a set of T.V. screens in front of the many treadmills. Overall, with a safe neighborhood, respectful staff, and nearby gym, stores and restaurants, this place is definitely worth your attention as a possible future living space.

My wife and I moved in recently. We have been here since September. Ill go over the pros and cons of this place to give a good review and idea of what someone is looking for! So I will start with cons: The apartments themselves are average. The pictures show the newer models, and the work within the apartments arent done that well, if that bothers you. However, maintenance is quick to come and fix anything that needs repair. They are really nice and friendly.... Another con, is that though the gardening is maintained, I think the apartments exterior gardening and lawn area could definitely look nicer and I often see the gardeners blow the pine needles under the bushes instead of actually raking them out. I think the apartments have a much better potential looks-wise. Again, if you care about that at all. Lastly, Id just say that there is not much to do around our apartments. Movies, mall etc is all about 15 to 20 minutes away driving.... Alright so pros: The people in the office and maintenance staff are wonderful and always helpful. They have made this transition all the way from California really easy and smooth. We have not experienced any hidden fees and everything that is said from the beginning is followed through. The staff, overall, really puts care into their residents and always answer any questions or concerns we may have, as well as being prompt to answer. Our apartment is fairly cozy and perfect for just us two. OH and we are literally in front of Little Creek Base. SOOOOO if that is something you are looking for, this is perfect. We really enjoy the shopping center that is right next to us (dont even have to cross the street). There is nail salons, sushi place, grocery store, cvs, etc It is small, but very convenient. This is a suburban area definitely. If you want the city life, look into downtown Norfolk..... It is also very quiet here. The walls of the apartment are a bit thin but our neighbors (personally) seem to all be as courteous as possible and friendly. Say hi and bye, but keep to ourselves etc. I think the price matches what you get here, and actually is a really good deal for what you get compared to what I have read in other apartments reviews that are seemingly nice. I highly recommend living here, or even just living here at first while transitioning like we did. Definitely helps you to get your feet wet in the area. :) Hope this review is helpful. We have been here for about 2 months now. Will update later this year for any changes or ad ons. :)

My daughter was pregnant when she first started living here, while pregnant her car got broken into and when she went to report it they took the information down and lost it then proceed to call her a liar. After the baby her car got broken into again and in which she was hounded by the manger to remove her reviews on all websites. If you have family , this is NOT the place for you.
