I worked here for 5 years.pandemic happens .Ive called stop by and texted a total of 9 times .since my health has very bad underlying illnesses.i am not allowed by my docter.i want my tax return mailed out this week or the IRS will be in.i tried to get my job back.everyone else that worked there and left they took back.im losing everything. No food no money nothing.thanks alot Phils I thought I could come back like every other employer .but you threw me away.if I do not receive my tax return in mail Im call the IRS .final warning I called for my job back......I guess someone else is doing my clients. Also Ill come to all my old clients. I need a place to live. I cant believe what a joke. I asked for my job.sorryIm really am gonna be homeless Im 2 weeks. Thanks Phils for not sending AMY HER Tax return.irs and a police officer and the health department.all I want is what Im oweed. Wanted my job .how do all these women get the jobs back and I cant.and if I dont get it Ior my job back.someones getting the truth said online ......

The people here are very nice. However, when I went in for a buzz, my neck got cut up, and when I asked why my neck was hurting, the woman didnt say that she had scraped me. Instead she said my skin was sensitive (which, even if its true, does not mean that she didnt scrape my neck). When I went home, I saw in the mirror that there were multiple cuts on my neck, and it hurt the entire day. (I got my hair cut around 8 AM and it still hurt the next morning.)When I called to address this, the woman who cut my hair still refused to take responsibility. It has now been five days and the cuts have scabbed over, so they get caught on my shirts and hurt again.She said that this is just a thing that happens. I Googled that and found another barber who addressed the topic of cutting a customers neck. He said this is the result of a trimmer that’s poorly adjusted and pressed too deeply into a clients nape which implies that this is not an experience that most barbers provide.Basically I got the Sweeney Todd experience and I dont recommend that anybody go here.But the people are nice, I can definitely say that. They just arent honest and possibly also not competent.

Awful cut. Got her shears caught in my piercings 3 times and not a single sorry. It was really painful and I audibly went ow Everytime. I showed her pictures and tried to be as clear as I could about how I like to wear my hair. I have bad vision and I cant see whatever my barber is doing. I just have to trust them to do a good job. She said shes been cutting hair for 30 years... No way. I came out looking lopsided. She cut very haphazardly. I had to touch up at home. I wish I could have gotten a refund but Im not the type to argue. Expensive cut as well...Currently having an internal meltdown. Thanks :/. Hope you dont get this lady. Shes white and wears black framed glasses.

Do not trust negative reviews, at least regarding Silvio. He gave me the best haircut I have ever had. Immigrated from nearby Naples in the 60s, he has brought his skills (he started haircutting when he was 13) to the US with the dignity of a hardworking Italian. Great cut, great place, great talk, great spirit. Give it a shot!

It’s all about CARL. Been cutting my hair for 25yrs. Ask for him at wall st shop. Amazing, a gentleman and a red sock fanatic. What more could you ask for.

Could barely understand the person who answered the phone. Her answers were short, like she was annoyed to answer the phone. I got there and the woman at the front asked what I wanted, and when I said I was just looking for a trim, she looked away and tended to who I am guessing was her grandchild, while I stood there awkwardly, not knowing if I was going to even get a haircut. When I finally was getting a cut, the woman who was cutting my hair seemed like she was making fun of me for having such thick hair and proceeded to laugh and say that my hair was too long. Not sure if she was just joking or what? Nonetheless, cheap haircut, but I wont be coming back.

For a college town, a not a bad price. Silvio, though I have noticed is not others reviewers favorite barber, is my favorite. He cuts my hair with a razor, which produces the blending I like between strands. (I personally hate when people can pick out which parts of your hair were done with an electric razor and which parts were done with scissors.)

Silvio has got to be the worst barber in the city. No matter what I have said to him in the past he still cuts my hair the way he wants it; then he proclaims how great it is. Its not great and it is not what I asked for. Also, I have to agree this place is not a proper barbershop.

Ive been going there since I had my first haircut 25 years ago. No other place has the atmosphere like it. People that want atmosphere can get their haircut at chuckie cheese. If you want a solid haircut from a die-hard Sox fan, ask for Carl.

The hairdresser woman did exactly what I wanted. They are very friendly and nice to their customers. I would go there again.

My husband tried another place nearby to cut his hair before, but we disliked it. For a few of months, he wasnt sure whether he could get a good haircut in New haven and didnt want to go for haircut. Finally we solve the problem here (remember, there are two shops of Phils, we went to the whitney one) . Silvio is professional. Many Asians like us believe we have to find an asian people to cut our hair, but this place change out mind. My husband is very happy. Thanks Silvio!! Men haircut is great!In addition, they DO have Asian stylists. Su cut my hair and I love it too. We will come back for sure.

Went in for a simple haircut where i wanted to cut my hair shorter. Instead of what i asked for she cut my hair very short and basically ruined my hair. Stupid spanish lady should not work there. Will not be goin back again!!!!
