These guys are great. They have bailed me out of a few times. Work is always done swiftly and the staff is friendly. Unlike some machine shops they genuinely want to help you out going above and beyond.

Upon a recommendation from i shop i used to work for i took a set of my 2.5l Subaru heads to this shop to get rebuilt. I requested a full valve grind and new valve guides put in as the motor has almost 200k on it... After not getting a phone call for 3 weeks i called to see if they were done, and they were. i went to pick them up, said they were done and ready to go. I was recommended by another shop to bring them in to insure they were done correctly to my requests as they were building my block for me and wanted to make sure it was done correctly as his work is in this build too. After close examination, the oil passage ways that run through the head had not been cleaned and sand had remained in them. 2 seats had been replaced with some off brand (not notified that the work was needed), flakes of aluminum were behind the valves and 2 of the valve guides had been hit with a cutter and mangled up... I immediately took them back in and requested a refund as installing these would have destroyed my engine upon install... Who ever was in there had no idea what had been done to them, said it wouldnt have hurt the anything. Which is wrong. I would not recommend taking anything to these guys, they only gave me 250 of the 450 back, but in the end the other shop saved me my engine which totals over $5,000. Very unhappy with there service and there work....

If anyone needs any cylinder head work done, I can’t recommend Rick’s Cylinder Head in Milwaukie enough. I brought my Honda 4cyl head in last Monday and I got a call by midday Tuesday that it was done. They resurfaced it, put new valve seals in, and checked/ground all the valves to spec for $185. Looks completely brand new, you can’t tell it’s ever been used.

This is THE head repair shop to go to. Dropped off cracked heads for my 91 Rodeo in very rough shape. Went to pick them up and was MORE than pleased with the outcome. They look brand new! You guys are the hit!!

To bad 1 star is the lowest I can give. I took my heads in for a Complete rebuild at $450 got em back put them on my new engine drove it 500 miles and kept blowing blue smoke on drive side. Went through testing the engine. Redid the head gasket but swapped the driver head to passenger side now it blows blue smoke out passenger side. Ricks cylinder head refused to warrenty and wouldnt give a reason. Im under 3000 miles and only 27 days into the 90 warrenty. Got heads rebuilt by another shop found used seats that where pitted and some guids warn out. Thanks for the scam
