Very bad encounter this last visit.Ripped off by him and would NEVER go back.I had work done for about a year and was completely satisfied. Reasonable pricing, good and fast work.I liked him.I had a set of struts that he was going to put in for me. I also developed a coolant leak in a small diameter10” hose. I purchased the part and figured he could do it when he did the struts. It was a simple job which I could have easily done myself in 20 minutes with some pliers or crescent wrench.He had my car for 2 hours and 10 minutes. The struts were a flat rate 2 hour job.Picked up my car and my bill had $300 labor, 2 hours for the struts, 2 for the hose.Seriously? Two hours in the shop and a $300 labor charge? $150 labor to put the hose in?That to me is really shady and a ripoff ( he advertises a $75 per hour shop rate.).He ripped me off. When I asked him if he felt ok charging me that for the job, he said yes.He lost my business right there.I paid it, and shouldn’t have.Be careful. He screwed me for sure.

ARC is honest and skilled. I found Ryans team when I was buying my Passat. Ryan down to earth customer service and honesty stood out and I have been coming back now for both our VW TDI and Passat for three years. They will never steer you wrong or charge for un-needed repairs.

I went to ARC Automotive for the first time. I drove all the way in from Vancouver because he offers the best customer service and he is very honest. Much better then the places I have visited in N Portland or Vancouver. Not too many people in the industry are as honest as Ryan Cornelison. He even went above and beyond by taking me to a nearby shopping center -for my convenience. If you need your VW or Audi worked on and you like honesty and great / detailed oriented work.... then I recommend this place!!

I have taken multiple cars to Ryan over the years and time after time he exceeds expectations in both quality of work and pricing. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a friendly mechanic that wont try to sell you on things you dont need.

UPDATE Sept 2018. Ryan is the best mechanic around, simply put. Srrvice and customer oriented. He just fixed our 24 yr old van. I asked him if he had seen anything like our problem before, he said no. Fortunately it was an easy quick fix at a price that couldnt be beat. Ryan at ARC Automotive does all my cars mechanical and repair work, he is AMAZING!! Doesnt matter the age or the make, he can fix it and does it at a fraction of the price of dealerships and other shops.
