I just called as I would like to donate an entertainment center and table, the lady I spoke with was beyond rude. According to her people that come to Purple Heart want mounted flat screen tvs and the modern furniture. I find that hard to believe.

Im impressed! Called yesterday to see when theyd be in our area. The woman who answered checked & said they could pick up today. I was told to have everything out by 8:00. The guys were here at 8:05 . Thanks for making it easy Purple Heart and for helping vets.

Ive tried to donate twice now and was not successful either time. 1st time I had a pick up all set and when I called to confirm they told me they werent taking furniture even after I had clearly indicated thats what I was donating. 2nd time I called to see when they would be in our neighborhood and again was told they werent taking furniture.

Scheduled a date for a pickup. Early during the day before Purple Heart was to pick up our donations, the weather was bad. So I called to ask if they were still coming and to let them know that it was okay to reschedule if I knew ahead of time.The woman on the phone told me ... and I quote, Maam, if the trucks are out and THEY ARE, they are coming. Your address is on the list. Soooo we put out our donations - 10 bags (clothes, purses, coats, and almost new puzzles and board games) - on the porch.Purple Heart never showed! We brought the bags back in and donated them to Goodwill the next day.Purple Heart - Its very disrespectful to the people keeping your business going - to have an appointment - to confirm the appointment - and then NOT SHOW UP.

I was informed of my pick-up date via phone and told to either place the items outside or be available between 10-4. When I called back because no one showed up the woman said I was never informed any of that info in effect calling me a liar. They constantly call me when I have nothing to donate but when I actually do, I waste a day and receive insults as a thanks. This operation is fraudulent and rude!!!

My fiancee whose account this is and I are both Iraq War Veterans and I am not only a Veteran but I have recieved a Purple Heart for being wounded. We are moving to Virginia and plan on using this service. Ive read countless bad reviews and when I call tomorrow if the person is rude, hangs up on me, or anything other than being respectful I will contact every news station and let the VA know how I was treated not only as a person but as an Iraq War Veteran who has recieved the Purple Heart . I genuinely hope my experience is different from those here and its a shame that an organization such as this has members that are anything but polite to its donors. These people are giving items to help out the needy and are treated badly. I hope that this organization got rid of the bad apple. I will update this review after Ive gone through the donation process

They are the the MOST CARING people youll ever meet!!!!!! ESPECIALLY the gentlemen who picked up my donations.They were very courteous and caring!!!!!!!

I dont understand these negative reviews! I call, they ask what Im donating [so they can schedule enough employees, truck size], they call the night before to remind you and you put your donation outside! I have always had great service from Purple Heart!

Called to get a pick up and never had someone as rude in all the years of dealing with Purple Heart. Had a whole house to donate but will find someone else with better customer service manners.

They are not helpful at all, be prepared to have to sit at home from 8am-4pm, but that is not the worse part, when they finally got to my mothers house to pick up the stuff, they had her (a 65 year old woman) carry everything out of the garage and down the driveway to the truck (when they had told me in the garage would be fine and someone would move all the stuff, so my mother would not have to).. the driver threw everything into the truck breaking anything glass or cookware and complained the entire time about how we should have insisted with the phone person to get a 2 person truck. WHAT? They didnt ask would I like one or two people.. so this crabby, unhelpful, rude truck driver is the reason I will no longer be donating to this charity again or recommending it to others.. HORRIBLE service!

Called and needed to get some items removed right away. I was lucky they were in my area today. They told me anytime between 8 and 4 but I was okay with that because the house closes tomorrow and we would’ve been stuck trying to haul away an entire bedroom set. I spoke with the manager that was able to get it done quickly. I offered a cash donation to expedite and she quickly turned that down and said it was her pleasure to assist. I had read a few negative reviews but I’m glad they were wrong. I think people can really inflate things when things don’t go their way. I’m glad my experience proved to be a great one. Purple Heart can count on my donations going forward.

Purple Heart is a great way to give to veterans. They are always ready to come to my home. Sometimes I put in my donation brand new mens slippers.

Scheduled for a pick up today between 8am and 4pm. Called about 130 to double check if they were coming. Rude person told me if I had received a reminder call then they were coming. At 3pm I called to say nobody had come. Very rude,disrespectful woman named Damian told me they came at 320pm and rang unit 324. That was incorrect unit. She hung up on me. Said I have to wait 4 weeks. Because of their mistake. Anybody know of a place that takes furniture?

Purple Heart has always been great picking up my donations. I only wish they were in my area more often. They are truly a charitable organization.

Tried talking to a person on information about the purple heart and she hung up on me! So forget purple heart!

They will come to your house to pick up clothes, furniture and anything that is good for donations to help others.

Unbelievably rude when I called to ask why items werent picked up. The person hung up on me so I called back to ask for a manager...turns out that was the manager. I will never donate to Purple Heart again.

I have never had an issue with PH not showing up when they said they would. They always call and remind me the night before. I am happy that I can help veterans with my donations.

Dont donate here, they get you on a list between 8-4 and they make you wait all day with no headups. Never showed, biggest waste of time. The operator was very rude and does not know how to do her job as a receptionist. Very unprofessional. Choose a place worth giving it to.

If I could do lower I would. They call schedule pick up for donations, confirm the night before, and I load up my front porch and the asses never showed. When called, all I got was a Im sorry we dont know what happened, you were not on our list. no solution or we can send someone tomorrow. Never donating to them again!Update: milwaukee office manager called today. Rectified the situation and slated my items for pick up today (1day late but I dont have to find storage for the items I wanted to donate)! Two years ago when they called we put out 2 large bags of clothing. the driver stopped- looked at the bags [from his seat ] & drove away!!! We tried again this year, 1 no reminder call, 2 no pick-up!!!! It sat out there all day. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Purple Heart calls ahead of time as to when the truck would be coming in the respective areas. They ask what kind of things would be donated. I never had any problems.
