Friendly and knowledgeable staff with satisfactory service. I got my boots resoled here and got topy soles on my loafers. Both were high quality jobs at affordable price. With that said, there seems to always be a long wait (~1month) for your orders so some patience is needed.

The shop owners here are so friendly and accommodating! I came in with an idea (to make a leather axe sheath) and they helped talk me through the entire process, got me all the supplies I would need to make it, and even helped me put the finishing touches on it. All for a very reasonable price!

They give good service at a good price but there is very little parking available. I parked at the Willy street co-op, which is for co-op customers only. I went inside and acted like a customer, came out and crossed the street to Janssens.

I recently brought in a leather bomber that Ive had since 2003 that has a lot of sentimental value to me. I need to get the leather trim on the pockets stitched back in place, and a little bit of cleanup on the rest of the jacket. Janssens did an excellent job, were very friendly, and even got it done in time for me to take it with me when I had a trip out of town for the weekend. I will definitely be going back to these folks - they are pros, and they are friendly.

Janssen has done a wide variety of work for me. Theyve re-soled my favorite boots and my moms Birkenstocks, conditioned a leather handbag, and dyed two pair of my shoes.Best experience: the time they transformed a pair of leather boots Id thrifted into the cute ankle boots Id been looking for. It involved cutting & redoing the seams , adding a shorter zipper, and cleaning the leather--and the whole thing cost me far less than it would have to buy a similar pair new.Plus they sell maple syrup from the family tree farm at the counter, and its delicious.

Knowledgable and pleasant. I brought a damaged pair of Frye boots into the store for repair. Instead of doing the repair themselves & charging me, they advised me to call Frye because the damage was atypical of boots with such little wear. Frye repaired the boots for free, and I appreciated Janssens honesty and expertise. They provided similar advice in a different scenario as well.

This person took our items (two pairs of leather pants) for two months with no contact whatsoever. And when she did finally contact us, it was for a second fitting. She hadnt even begun any sort of work on our items whatsoever. As a result, we werent able to wear the items to the event we were getting them tailored for in the first place.Then, she decided that she wouldnt have time to get them done, and called us to have them picked up.If you agree to take on a job as a business, it is your responsibility to be honest with your clients about if you can do it and in what time frame. It is also your responsibility to ensure that your clients know when things change.I will be discouraging everyone I know about from utilizing them for shoe or leather repair, because it is clear that this person lacks the integrity required to do the work.

AWFUL!!!!! DONT GO!!!!!I sent a pair of boots early December and the owner said its not gonna be done until Christmas because they are quite busy. But I came back at January 28th, which is about 2 months later, and she told me they havent even done yet because her husband went on a vacation and he is not coming back until two weeks later! Those people dont know how to run a business!
