I blew a head gasket and took my cylinder head to them to have it cleaned and milled when I was doing the repair. They also checked for cracks and checked the valves for me. When I got the head back it looked brand new. Fast turnaround on the job and a fair price. They even gave me some tips for reinstalling correctly. I would use them again.

I’m writing this review so someone doesn’t go through my experience. I paid for my 22re to be rebuilt here. After a repair shop installed the motor there was a lot of ticking noise. Mid State said, when I took him on a test drive to hear the noise, “Atleast your heat works.” I had my whole coolant system replaced, but the motor still overheated. When the owner then saw that the heat tabs had melted, he refused to honor his warranty. I hired a separate machine shop to rebuild the motor again. They found lots of ground up metal bits in oil pan, missing wrist pin bearings, and a bent crank shaft. They don’t honor their warranty

I use this machine shop last fall. To have my cylinder head milled. I asked for it to be in between 24 and 30 thousands to be taken off of the cylinder head. they were very friendly and they did the work in a timely manner but thats not what they did. they only took one or two thou off. I ccd the cylinder head and there was a little to no change... maybe a cc or two change (I doubted my previous measurement and should have had it milled again before putting it together). My engine has 7.3 to 1 compression with a 52 CC combustion chamber and a 10cc piston. theres plenty there to work with but when they dont take really anything off of the head they just made sure its flat... theyre not doing what the customer asked. now I have to take the motor back apart because its still under power and do it all over again. Lol the gasket cost more than the machine work. so now that Im out a gasket my time the Machine Shop cost. what do you have to do to get people to take you seriously when you ask for something.
