I just moved into these apartments about two weeks ago. The greatest benefits I saw in these apartments were the safety it provides (gated parking lot, card keys for all entrances, etc.), the location to the downtown area and Mercer university campus, and the added facilities such as the gym, study rooms, and rooftop terrace. The office can sometimes be difficult to reach if you have an issue, especially during the summer and before moving in. Understanding the financial breakdown and learning how to pay can be confusing as well. The move-in process was rather jumbled. My roommate did not receive a mailbox or room key until later, we did not receive a trash can for the trash pickup until I specifically asked, and the apartment was very dirty despite the office claiming it was cleaned prior to move-in. Despite these initial issues, I still stand by the benefits that I saw prior to moving in. The spaces are good, its safe and generally clean, and the staff are helpful.

I am a new resident, but am already settling in well. There were several issues during move in day, such as not having a key to the room upon move in, a dusty apartment, torn floor boards, and broken cabinet handles. What I will say though is that the staff at the desk, the cleaning crew, and the maintenance crew were all helpful and understanding. Most issues were fixed within a day or so, and the rest within a week of moving in. I also appreciated the move in folder with information about Prism 23, contact numbers, and local information. As a college student, the price can seem high, but I do think the staff try their best to work with residents and give them a good experience.

Ive been here for about 6 months now so Its time for a review. When I was first looking to live there I took a virtual tour with a girl named Gabe and it was amazing. The apartment was beautiful! Especially the granite counter tops in the kitchen. Ive looked at a lot of places and it was refreshing to feel like the leasing person actually cared about finding something right for me! If youre looking for a good community in the Macon area, this is the place to be! The assistant manager, Gabe is seriously so incredibly nice and helpful! best apartment ive had, hands down!

Reasons why I HATED my time here:1. Apartment wasn’t cleaned out after the last tenant when we moved in2. Three owners in the two years I lived here3. At least 6 different property managers (and at times I wasnt sure who was the actual manager)4. Raised my rent by $600 after the first year5. Left my wife standing outside for 4 hours because the emergency line wasnt properly setup6. Stopped leveraging the delivery lock boxes so you couldnt get package if office is closed7. Due to coronavirus, they agreed to waive our convenience fee….a whole $1.95 for a month8. After adding back the fee, they deactivated my autopayment. When I tried to reactivate it, it didnt work9. No formal notices sent to tenants about frequent large dog poop found in the grass around the complex10. Leaving us in the dark for 3 months regarding adjustments being made during and post-COVID11. Raised rent by $100 even though our rent is already at a premium and wont offer bundled discounts for both bedrooms12. Waited until the second consecutive day that someone was breaking into cars to send a notice to tenants to lock their car door13. The day I moved out there was a leak from the ceiling potentially from a busted pipe (dodged that bullet)14. Rent WAY too high to not have a pool

Our loft was well kept and the area is quiet. There’s never any loud music, I can’t hear my neighbors, the place is just all around peaceful. This was exactly the home we envisioned and more. This apartment complex leaves so much to be desired. It is a revolving door with management companies and employees. They tout a very friendly environment, however, the management could not be less helpful when it comes to maintenance issues and questions about rent/leases.If you are lucky enough to live in my apartment, I hope you enjoy the constant raining that has occurred inside the apartment each time it rains outside. I had the problem for over a year, and they constantly told me they were working on a more permanent solution yet failed to do so during the time I lived there.Need a short term lease due to a global pandemic when the Lofts isnt even at fully capacity? You wont find it here. I attempted to contact the management company that was listed, however, it had already changed by the time I was able to reach someone. The other Lofts in Macon were extremely accommodating with regard to short term leases. You would be better off to live in one of those if you want an apartment with amenities included. Finally, at the end of my lease, I accidentally left extremely valuable personal belongings in the apartment. I moved out before the end of the lease and they did the walkthrough and threw my belongings away. I understand that I abandoned my property, however I was not made aware of what was thrown away until 9 days after the walkthrough. When I called they were not apologetic. I assure you I would have gone through the trash or come IMMEDIATELY to the apartment on the day of the walkthrough had they been courteous enough to text me (they have my number). In short, the Lofts might seem like a convenient all-inclusive place to live, but I ASSURE you there are better options.

Ive lived here for over 2 years and have stayed solely due to the convenience of close proximity to the hospital where I work and the fact that its furnished. The property managers have changed 5 times (only one had ever introduced himself) and the apartment complex has been sold and under new management three times since Ive been here. The current management is poor - understaffed, does not usually answer the phone when you call the main line, doesn’t let you know when your packages have arrived, and places roommates without allowing you to assess for compatibility prior to stating the other resident will be moving in with one weeks notice. Also, living street side, you will hear all cars passing by and the semi-trucks loitering across the street every night.

As the year 2020 comes to an end, I wanted to reach out to share my thoughts over the past 4 years living at the Lofts at College Hill. I started medical school in 2017 and looked for a place that can make me feel safe, focused, and at peace. I have been in the same apartment for almost 4 years now. The roof top is my favorite spot to study, reflect, or do dinner with friends. Especially during the pandemic, the rooftop was perfect for practicing yoga during the summer or studying. The lobby, gym, and office is always nice and clean. Complimentary coffee is nice during late nights studying with friends. The location is also perfect for a medical student - close proximity to the school, hospital, and my favorite yoga studio, Sparks Yoga, down the street.Although the staff has changed over the past few years, Stephen, the maintenance staff member, has been here since the beginning. He is always willing to help, answer questions, and responds anytime I get locked out. I hope Stephen gets some promotion or phone call from the senior management, because he is awesome. The new staff this year 2019-2020 has also been terrific. The pumpkin decorating event was my favorite, but also enjoyed the valentine treats, door to door study snacks, and many events with foods and games to bring everyone together.Lastly - The trash pick up and living above the Brick is nice too. Their buffalo chicken dip is a favorite during friend gatherings.Of course no place is perfect. But, it is always nice to call this place home over the past few years. If any medical student or any student wants to reach out to me, please feel free. Email the lofts management and they can connect me to you.Salima Makhani

I have lived here since May and the previous management was awful. At first, they appeared to be caring, but once I moved in and expressed concerns about noise above me and noise due to the Brick employees right outside my window, they had no solution to fix the issue, rather told me to contact the police. I had several other concerns of the state of my apartment/how the apartment was operated on top of the noise problems. For example, my packages being consistently lost on the property or being placed in my roommate`s box. Then they would question me and state it was my problem to fix even though the package said it was delivered(just to note, the packages were eventually found on the property several days later as management took their time to look for it). With that, they would take 3-4 days to respond to e-mails, even when the issue was time sensitive. Management also responded in e-mails in a passive aggressive manner as though my concerns were an inconvenience. The only reason I could not talk to them in person was due to Covid-19 as they were practicing social distancing equating to management never being physically in the office. As a resident who pays rent, that is very frustrating. There has now been a change in management in the past week or so. Josh is currently the community manager. In each interaction I have had with him, he has been very professional and ensured me that my concerns are valid. I had several concerns that previous management would not fix that he gladly helped find a solution and did it within the same day of expressing my concern. He responds to e-mails quickly and will even call you to explain a solution. I never got that out of previous management, it was all through e-mail and the text messaging service they use. Management is also now back in the leasing office during business hours for residents! The reason I am giving the review 4/5 stars is due to previous management and how situations were dealt. Overall, the apartment is nice and kept clean. You are in a gated community, dog/cat friendly, trash service is 3 days out of the week, and the unit can be furnished.

Review №37

I lived here for a year (1 bed, 1 bath), and Ill go through the pros and cons that I experienced while I was here. In short, although this place is nice, you can do much better for the money.PROS:(1) By far the best thing about this place is the distance to both Mercer and downtown. Especially if you are going to Mercer Law School, this place may seem appealing because of how close it is.(2) The inside of the apartment is nice. The appliances are mostly good, and the all-wood flooring makes the place easy to keep clean.(3) While I was there, the employees were nice. However, this part may or may not be relevant because management changes constantly at this place. It changed at least twice in the year that I was there.CONS:(1) Rent is WAY too high. Youll find yourself spending over $1300/mo when you take into account electric and utilities. Though this place is nice, it is not THAT nice.(2) There is no buyout or termination clause in your lease agreement. So you cannot terminate your lease early if something comes up (such as a global pandemic that causes Mercer to go all-online, thus eliminating a major reason why you moved to Macon in the first place).(3) You are next to a post office, a fire station, a busy restaurant, and a common stopping place for trucks. Though the location is good in that it is close to Mercer and downtown, this also means that there is ALWAYS noise. Even in the middle of the night. I eventually got used to it, but it is still an issue.(4) The walls are INCREDIBLY thin. This makes the noise mentioned in the last note even worse, and it is very easy to hear neighbors.(5) The furniture provided does not last. The chair and couch are made out of synthetic leather, which peeled off during normal use. The office chair provided is awful, too. For the rent that I paid, I expect more.(6) As mentioned before, management changes constantly here. So you never know if things will change drastically. I had to change my method of paying rent twice, which may not seem like a big deal, but it is an unneeded hassle, especially since these changes were not promptly communicated. This place may seem appealing at first, and it definitely does have its benefits. However, you can do better for the money. For me, it was fine for a place to live and learn the area, but it is not a place to live long-term.

I had a great experience living here at Lofts at College Hill. Quinta was extremely helpful in securing me a lease very last minute. They were able to accommodate some special circumstances that I had and I was thankful for that.I enjoyed having a washer/dryer, cable, internet, and water included in my rent. They will only pay up to $20 of your electric bill and then the rest is yours to pay. Which wasn’t a problem, i never paid more than $15. My apartment was furnished very well, everything was clean upon move in and all of my appliances worked. I never had any maintenance issues.Yes, I did experience some noise issues as far being close to the highway or people in the parking lot, or even people on my floor, but that is something that I feel you’d experience at any place where you’re essentially sharing a living space and none of those experiences were unbearable. All in all, I would recommend someone living here. It was a peaceful and professional living experience.

This is a great place to live, if you like constant noise and no sleep. The apartment is a great value in that I am only paying for a 1 bedroom, but the walls are so thin I essentially have 3 roommates. You can also be fortunate enough to have an upstairs neighbor that moves around so much, you will be awakened in the middle of the night to the question of an earthquake or being attacked. There’s one more positive that adds to the value of the overpriced noise box. Living on the same floor as the parking lot allows you to feel connected with every resident as you hear everything that occurs in the parking lot. Music blasting at 2am every weekend allows you to feel like you’re in a club without getting out of bed. The brick employees also use the parking lot as their “break area” so every night until after midnight it’s like you are living inside the restaurant. As a former waiter I love the nostalgia I get (while trying to sleep) of the trash cans being thrown around and the guys yelling out the kitchen and across the parking lot. It really makes me feel like I am back working at a restaurant. The management is also great at listening to your problems, but doing nothing about it. They claim they will personally take care of it, but no change will come. Again, this is a great apartment if want to overpay and be woken up every single night.

I would recommend living elsewhere. Before the new owners bought, it was a reasonable place to live, now not so much. You can furnish your own apartment and get a better deal elsewhere. You pay additional money for a higher ceiling on the bottom floor which is noisier and cost more to heat and cool. Makes about as much sense as the new green deal. Not to mention, they need security at the front. My son has had numerous encounters with people up to no good in the front parking lot. They do have a parking garage which helps but they need security.

Trash service is limited and only happens three days a week, dumpster requires broom handles to physically shove trash down into container - unsafe and unsanitary. Doors are heavy metal and unautomated. Will not allow termination of lease even for documented medical cause. Management acts nice but the minute you have a grievance they stonewall and lawyer up. There are much better places to live in Macon for much cheaper and dont require an unbreakable year long lease. Dont allow this scam company to harm you and your family.

The apartment itself is nice but if you live in an apartment on the side facing the post office distribution center, all day every day you will hear constant and I mean constant noise. The post office works through the entire night, meaning you will hear bells and alarms going off constantly, 18-wheeler trucks backing up and turning on and off all night, employees yelling, mail being dumped and sorted.. literally the entire night every night except Sundays. It has been extremely frustrating as there is really nothing I or anyone can do because the post office isn’t going to stop working and the apartment isn’t magically going to get thicker walls.

Just moved in here and was impressed with the apartment itself. However, other reviews mention about constant noise (mostly due to thin wall) is true. You can here your neighbors talking loud at 1-3 AM and wont be able to sleep. For $849 per month, this is annoying (though you will get used to it).Edit: I guess I was being too harsh about my first impression. Also, its really convenient how all your packages can be picked up at their office.

Because Lofts at College Hill is attempting to fraudulently alter the lease, we are being asked to pay over $1,000 that we do not owe! These people will tell you one thing but later lie to you about it, even though it is in writing! This is highly illegal and The Lofts at College Hill is discriminating against college students because they are young and sometimes don’t know the laws that protect them.
