Its amazing what these people are doing. I truly salute them for their work and passion. I went there on a few occasions when my friend was considering adopting a dog (which he ended up adopting). The place itself is ok, you book a 1-hour slot and you get a free drink. Its not a cafeteria, its an indoor closed space with rescue dogs. The people there were very accommodating with the adoption process. They would give the dog to my friend for 1 day at a time so that both owner and dog would slowly get adjusted to one another. The whole process was very smooth.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! We expected a few dogs to be there (based on our experience with cat cafes) and they surpassed our expectations, since there were pbbly about 10+ dogs who were all so friendly. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable to give us insights about the dogs and their history. My favorite dog was Meatball, because hes such a big dog and super sweet. My partners favorite dogs were the puppies since theyre very playful. Overall every dog was unique and all so very loveable ❤️❤️. If we ever decide to move to California well definitely come back to this cafe every time we can, since we currently dont have a dog to care for. Also the fee $15/hr is so affordable to get such amazing experience 😎😬.

All the dogs have stories from their past but these lovely people take them in, clean and get them all fixed up and ready for a new start to their life. No animal should be left behind. I will be telling EVERYONE about this place! So awesome. And you can get a coffee while enjoying your time with the pups!

It was a terrible experience. I filled in the adoption application and paid the 10$ fee. Never heard back from them for days. Then they asked for a home video check which I immediately sent to them ,via We Transfer. They never saw the video. They never got back to me. I have emailed them many of times asking how the dog is doing and what is going on. There voice-mail is always full. Its now been 6 weeks and I gave up. It was emotionally draining and time consuming.Hope they treat their animals with more dignity a respect.

What a great place! My sister and I recently took a trip to the West Coast with no definite plans. A few days before our trip, I somehow stumbled across The Dog Cafe and being the dog lovers we are, I knew we had to go. Love this idea. All of the dogs are from shelters so you can adopt any of them. When you first walk in you may find that it kind of smells but your nose gets used to it before you know it. It costs about $30 per hour each person, which is far less than actually owning a dog so Id gladly pay that to play with puppies.

Cute non-profit organization that helps dogs get fostered and adopted with a cafe attached to it next door.Parking is ample (above or underground) and they have their own brand of coffee as well and other fun items in the store to purchase that benefits the organization. To visit the dogs, customers have to reserve time slots for a nominal fee to play with the dogs that are currently there. This is a great opportunity to get your doggy time in and check out who youd like to adopt before making the commitment. This is such a positive environment and what they are doing for the animals is an amazing thing.Disclaimer: I volunteer at this cafe and the staff is wonderful. They are all care deeply about the dogs that come through their doors. Ive had nothing but great experiences here!

We went in around our appointment, got our coffee, filled out a waiver, and were guided to next door where the dogs were. We walked in and all the staff were very attentive and were chatting to us about the different dogs throughout. Very chill and calm atmosphere. The dogs were calm and easy to get to know. When our time was over we went back over to the coffee bar, bought some souvenirs to remember our day (the proceeds of which go to help he dogs and shelters), and went about our way. Very cool, very good way to spend an hour, even with dealing with LA weekend traffic

The Dog Cafe is a nice place to come and cuddle with some cute dogs. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable regarding the dogs and with adoption information. Since this is an experience with live animals, its hard to know what to expect when it comes to dog behaviors. I visited on a sunday afternoon and the majority of the dogs were sleeping or tired. They seemed played out and it made the experience a little dissatisfying. However, I support this business for what they are doing to help these animals and I hope that they all find forever homes.

Cant say enough of this place. The beverages are pretty good (although to be honest you dont come here just for the drinks), the staff is friendly and the dogs are the sweetest dogs ever. We recommend you get on the floor and you will have more doggy time, guaranteed! In our case we cant have a dog as our apartment is super tiny, but this is a perfect alternative. We can come enjoy these little guys while we help them and the organization. Also it is a very emotional experience as you can spend a bit of time with dogs who havent been treated very well by life, like Rocket, or others who are enjoying their last years.Extremely recommended!!!!!! I went to the dog cafe with the intention of adopting a dog. I said it multiple times out loud, they want their dogs to get adopted so it shouldn’t be an issue. the staff recommends you foster the dog before adopting, I think to myself, sounds like a great idea, foster then decide if you want to adopt. Foster to adopt does not exist apparently. But nonetheless I then, after 3 rescheduled interview appointments, finally got and interview. Only to find out that to foster you’re not going to get the dog that you previously interacted with and also that both the dogs I had interacted with and put in applications for were gone. So the 15 dollars to go meet the dogs for an hour is just for that exchange not to aide in the adoption process. Overall I had a terrible experience and felt like I was wasted 15 dollars when I could have just gone to a same day shelter and not dealt with the disorganization of this organization.

Found out about this place on a google search. Went to visit on a Sunday, 3/20/16. Had a TON OF FUN!!! Theyre still in the soft opening, so the room next door where the cafe is suppose to be is being renovated. But the big playroom where all the adoptable doggies are is up and running. Which is the real reason to come visit! There was about 6-8 dogs available to play with. ALL were super sweet and friendly and were excited to have someone spend time with them. It was so joyous to see all these shelter animals happy. This is such a great concept. Having these great adoptable dogs in a loving and stress free environment to showcase their irresistible personalities. For anyone thats looking to adopt a pet, or just looking for a great place to brighten their day I would highly recommend this fantastic dog cafe! The dog cafe was a fun and interesting experience, however, I think there are some problems with the set-up. Lovely dogs and friendly staff, fun to sit around and be with the dogs. The problem I have with the place is that it seems like the dogs are a bit overloaded with people coming to pet and play with them. This may be a problem both for the dogs and for the many people who are eager to go to the cafe not to adopt but to spend time with dogs. For example, there is a sweet older black dog there (13 or 14, with arthritis) that kept on wanting to go into its cage and sleep on the dog bed. However, the caretakers kept preventing the dog from going there and getting a break from the humans.According to the Staff the dogs have a bit more energy in the earlier sessions. But they seemed totally wiped out (most of them at least) by 4 o clock. We saw on average of 15-20 humans coming to play with like 8 or 9 dogs every hour. Look, these dogs would have been killed otherwise, and kudos to this place for taking them in. But, the dogs, when I went there, clearly wanted to rest and take a break from humans. Often the caretakers would keep on picking them up to place in the hands of the people who wanted to see the dogs.I think if you, like myself, are interested in just being around dogs and hanging out with them, going to a local dog park and just hanging around is a more enjoyable experience than the cafe. Although dog cafe may be really good for someone who is afraid of dogs and wants to be around lower energy dogs. The dog cafe is a great idea but it doesn’t work so great. It would be better if shelters themselves could find ways to let in more people from the public to socialize with the pups (and, yes, many do).At the dog cafe, it’s too much, all at once, for too long for the dogs. And, for the humans a nice thing, but not really going to deliver if you want to spend quality time with a dog whose energized and excited to hang out.As an aside the cafe was nice, and everyone helpful and sweet.

Was really disappointed, honestly.I came all the way from Wisconsin (yes, the state in the midwest) to see this place, and it was not what I had hoped.I will say that the staff seems to really love the dogs. But they also seem like they dont really know what theyre doing, and there are many issues with the cafe overall. They get 2 instead of 1 because I really love the mission and I think at their hearts theyre trying.#1 issue was that to clean up a pee accident they literally grabbed a sponge mop off the wall, soaked it up, and stuck the mop back on the wall.... no disinfecting?? Yikes!Additionally..-the coffee was bad-the cafe side was just a waiting room-the decor was mismatched and the space seemed very worn down, not taken care of-theres a random dirty fish tank?-they dont answer the phone-they close early kind of whenever they feel like, which makes it more frustrating that they dont answer the phoneYouve got the right idea, but it definitely needs to be revised a bit!

I went for my birthday. I would post one star but I gave them an extra for the sweet dogs there. Workers were yelling at dogs with anxiety, locked up one dog and said that she couldnt be around people cuz she has anxiety but the dog wanted to leave her cage. Workers take up way too much of the dogs’ attention since they know them and don’t let customers spend much time with the dogs. I was in the cage with the dog had too much anxiety and while I was in there playing with her one of the workers came up and said to the dog “I’ll be in there soon girl” acting as if I wasn’t even there. Needs to be more considerate and aware of customers. Needs to take better care of dogs. Too much negative punishments for dogs that come from shelters. Also very dirty. Was very very disappointed. One man kept kissing all the dogs on the mouth. I’m sorry that’s fine if they’re your dogs (I have 2 adopted chihuahua mixes and I kiss them all the time) but i DO NOT think it’s sanitary to let all dogs kiss you IN the mouth while they interact with other people as well.

They did not even pay attention, the dog is still there after 1 month. 4. Money for them is worth more than an adopted dog.

They also wont let you look at the dogs through the window unless you buy something, also partially because there isnt really any seating available except the benches outside. My experience with the Dog Cafe was profoundly disturbing and I intend to report them for animal maltreatment and health code violations. When we picked up our dog for the adoption trial--at a time we had arranged in advance--we learned she was not up to date on her shots (though the website indicates this), nor did they have records of her shots. We also learned that our dog likely had Giardia and worms (which was later confirmed by the vet), which the staff member shared is common amongst most--if not all--of the dogs in the cafe. Though the cafe staff know that their dogs are sick, they dont work to prevent or treat them pre-adoption. I assume it is to cut costs, but in the meantime, these poor dogs are suffering from extreme lethargy due to lack of treatment. We insisted on testing for these diseases at pick-up (though it should have been done sooner), and had to repeatedly follow up with staff for the results. We did not know until a week into our trial that our dog was sick (the staff member did not follow up to share the results), and then had to undergo a months worth of medical treatment with the dog. We had to visit their vet several times throughout the trial for shots and medication pick-up, which could have all been avoided had the cafe actually cared for the dogs in the ways they should be cared for.All of these negative experiences were exacerbated by the unprofessional communications with the young, inexperienced staff who seem to be in charge of the cafe (the owner never seemed to be around). Staff were unprepared for pick-up and failed to communicate throughout the process. When they did communicate, it wasnt timely and was almost always unprofessional. Its clear from my experience that the cafe is in no way interested in doing what is best for the dogs in their care, but in churning out adoptions as quickly as possible to enrich the cafes young and absent owner.

My wife organized a trip to The Dog Cafe as a surprise for my daughter. WHAT A HIT!!!!Everyone was super nice and friendly from the moment we arrived. Check in looks like it could be a bit more streamlined, but everyone is in such good spirits that, WHO CARES?!?!We each enjoyed one of their three lemonades, Traditional, Rose and Lavender, and all three of us had big smiles on our faces and drank the entire glass.Very smooth transition for everyone coming in to the actual dog interaction area next door. There was plenty of seating for everyone and TONS of different toys to use to interact with the dogs. Many people also sat on the ground and those folks (myself included) seemed to have the most fun. There were all kinds of dogs for all kinds of people: little puppies, big puppies, quiet lap dogs, yippie dogs, old calm dogs and even an old, blind dog (Oreo was cute). The staff was fabulous (Kennedy and Kennedy, fo real the same name for both ladies). They introduced each dog and told a little back story and helpful handling information for each one. i.e. this one loves to be picked up... this one... well... let this one come to you.Dogs do what dogs doo, and the staff was right there within seconds to clean it up. Extremely clean facility with no doggie smell. The dogs were very well groomed and taken care of and were of quite a pleasant disposition overall.Needless to say my wife is so awesome for planning this and the surprise was very well received. The toughest part for us was fighting the urge to take one of these little guys and gals back home to Florida with us.The staff educated us about adoption options without being pushy. Very nice atmosphere. Also loved the time slots so that it never felt crowded in here.
