Thanks to Fur Baby Rescue for bringing us our Penny (previously known as Beyoncé) to our home. With puppies being adopted quicker than we could fill out applications on PetFinder, we were a bit disheartened. We reached out & text the phone # of Dawn at Fur Baby Rescue and she sent the initial questionnaire. We then got invited to their open house where we met our baby. The staff there were so professional, knowledgeable, kind and are really passionate about their babies. They went above & beyond in sharing their knowledge & tips. They reassured us that we can always contact them with any questions or concerns about our Penny. We’re forever grateful to Fur Baby Rescue!

We adopted our puppy from this rescue. The lady who ran the rescue said he was a full bred Australian shepherd, and that it would be more expensive. We did not care that according to her he was full bred (HE IS NOT). We fell in love with him. We paid our fee and were instructed to reach out should we need help because vets are expensive, and they may be able to help.Shortly after we brought Toby (our name for him) home, he began to act different, and started puking. I texted, called, and emailed (with no response) we contacted our emergency vet, and took him in. By the time they answered my wifes calls and strong worded text messages we told them he was being seen at the vet already. They told us we should have taken him in to their place instead. The vet said Toby was having stomach issues because the food he was receiving (provided and recommended by the rescue) was not appropriate for his young age. We informed this to the rescue, and they tried telling us different.Shortly after that incident Toby began feeling sick again, we took him in to our vet and found out he had Parvo. (This was verified by a second vet). We contacted the rescue, to inform them (we thought they would appreciate it) they suggested that the Vets were wrong.Needless to say, my wife and I chose to try and save our life our little boys. We did the treatments, and glad to say he made it. But we never heard back from the rescue... even though the adoption came with shots and neutering, we have chosen to pay for those ourselves, and cut all ties with this place. Sad to say, Fur baby rescue did not seem to care much about this little guy. It appears the word rescue has different meanings to some. The only thing that came out of the experience, is we have our little guy at home.

Completely unresponsive. After 5 attempts to contact them over two days and waiting 10 days for a response, I’ve decided to write this review. I’ve received absolutely zero communication from this organization. I understand that they are shorthanded during Covid... but a simple response acknowledging that my request had at least been received would have been appreciated. I sent 2 texts, 2 emails, and called once on the phone (there was a voice message that said to send a text). Their adoptable animals are being updated on their website, so they have not gone out of business. This is just purely unprofessional. Don’t be surprised if you get 100% ignored when contacting this company. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if they respond to this bad review...

I got my baby from here. It is a little pricey, but well worth it! The owner is very nice, and seems very knowledgeable, you can really tell that she cares about the animals and their well-being. The building itself is clean inside and out! Would 100% recommend!

I just wish these groups would be honest And just call themselves a dog selling business. because theres nothing wrong with making money, but they when they call themselves a rescue center its misleading and false. Please dont be part of the insane puppy profiting thats been going on lately. Its only sending prices for stray dogs into the stratosphere! And thats really NOT helping these poor animals that just need good homes. So, please go to your local shelter instead. Be part of the solution not part of the problem.

Why are these rescue companies so shady?! I could not get a response from Dawn about a possible adoption of a puppy despite the communication on my end. Then the dog was unlisted. Completely unreliable, unprofessional and dishonest. And now I see reviews of her “business” here on google. Don’t adopt w her, go straight to the shelter.

Got my pup there several years ago - She was a year old and needed a home.... now I think 8 years old, we still have our lil chihuahua mix and she is happy and for the most part healthy (little things come up here and there.)We walked in, after a couple emails or phone calls, and after some negotiation, left with a fur baby to love and care for....Never heard from them again, however when we want another family member, they will be high on my list. We adopt about once every 10 years. Great experience.

DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A SICK PUPPY AND LIES.Ill start off by noting that Dawn is typically quick to respond prior to adoption. As in when you want to make an appointment to see the puppy. But why wouldnt she be, shes about to make a lot of money.I adopted my pup a few weeks ago and after doing research, I found out its best to take him to the vet for a stool sample. While I was there, I found out the following:1) my dog has rabies2) my dog never got his rabies shot or first set of vaccinations like they claimedAfter everything is said and done I do plan on taking her to small claims court.

I’ve had such a disturbing experience with Dawn and Fur Baby Rescue. I’ll write as detailed as possible to help people looking into adopting here, but I’m really drained. I’ll start with the first thing that went wrong, and also the most minimal aspect to me. When I got there, I asked how much the adoption fee was and was told a completely different figure then the final amount. I mentioned something to them but I didn’t argue it. It wasn’t worth it.I couldn’t take my puppy home that day because he needed to get neutered. Which I later found out was highly unsafe at his age. When I went to pick him up Dawn made NO mention that he requires a cone. I thought it was odd but figured there must be some new cutting edge technology that some vets have where the cone is no longer required. Because the other scenario, the owner of a RESCUE failing to tell me something of this importance, was too preposterous. After a week of going back and forth in my head about this, I thought I should reach out to Dawn and double check. Sure enough, she said he does require a cone and “maybe she forgot to tell me”. When I pointed out that this was a big thing to forget to tell someone, she then switched her story to cover her butt. She said now that she thought about it, she did tell me. But she’s lying. My sister was with me and confirmed she made no mention of it.Side note, she also told me she forgot to give me his paperwork. She offered to mail it but I told her I’d be back for his “last” vaccination and would pick it up then so she wouldn’t have to go through the trouble. When I went back, she couldn’t find the original paperwork. She had lost it.The final part of my review is the most devastating. She lied and said that his initial shots were taken care of after my last visit. And said my dog can go out in 2-3 days. FYI, I had to ask how quickly I could expose him to the outside world. Otherwise they would have never told me on their own to wait 2-3 days. But I just got back from the vet today and had to show him all of my dog’s paperwork while I was there. He said my dog is not done with his initial shots. There’s two more that need to be done and my dog should have NEVER been outside this entire time. I was at the vet because of something my dog got from being outside.I reached out to Dawn but it made matters worse for me. She did offer to give me a tax donation form as compensation. But that’s going to do nothing for me and my puppy. I don’t understand how Fur Baby is considered a rescue, yet their false information or no information at times, puts your dog in harms way.I get that you may see an animal you fall in love with on Pet Finder and they are at this shelter. So I won’t suggest that you don’t adopt from them. Because when a dog is meant to be yours, you know. But I would not trust a thing Dawn or anyone their says. Or at least do your own research.

UPDATE: Added one star as we received a check in the mail from Dawn based on the agreement she gave us. I still stand by my whole review. Please read this if you are going to adopt from this establishment. I just posted a detailed review and feel like I need to notify people before they decide to adopt from here. I DO NOT REVIEW. EVER. If you want the details, see yelp. This is the short version:--CON: WITHOUT OUR ADOPTION AND ATTENTIVENESS OUR PUPPY WOULD HAVE DIED BECAUSE OF SERIOUS FOR LACK OF SANITATION & MALPRACTICE.--CON: Sketchy, dont know what they are doing with these high DONATIONS--CON:The owner, Dawn is extremely careless and negligent.--PRO: We got our cute puppy, and they actually feed them decent puppy food. He did not have worms or fleas.OUR PUPPY WAS WAY WAY WAY YOUNGER THAN THEY SAID. THEY NEUTER AND VACCINATE WAY TOO EARLY! They said he was 3 months old when he was no more than 7 weeks!!!!!*CONCLUSION* If you do go with Fur Baby, TAKE YOUR PUPPY TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY bite the bullet, open a pet care plan & go through a legitimate facility for vacc/neuter/chip. Do not trust this place!

We adopted a little girl pup here one month ago. She was about 12 weeks old when we got her the best they could tell. Both the vets weve seen with her so far said that theyve heard nothing but great things about Fur Baby, and said that it looked like they did a great job with our little girl. The adoption fees included some of her vaccines, an initial vet appointment, and her spay which is coming up in a month or so.

I recently adopted my little girl from Fur baby. I can say this lady does an amazing job making sure the puppys go to homes that are going to do right by the pet. Adoption cost included her puppy shots that you bring them back for each, the spay/neuter, chip implant, so right there that is 100% reasonable to adopt a pup. I have a cat at home so I was hesitante about bringing a dog home. She said lets see if it will be a good fit. And placed a cat in with her (Monkey had zero puppy fear, lol been there done that) . I was super happy to see she had no intrest in the cat. My new fur baby has no human fear and so I believe she was treated right prior to me adopting. Yes, it took her 5 minutes to come to the door, but hey she was probly dealing with something.

If you arent white you will get the worst attitude and service ever , my girlfriend and I are hispanic and we have been wanting to adopt a dog for such a long time , we thought we were lucky enough to stumble across Fur Baby Rescue and make our dreams come true , when we entered the facility we fell in love with a beautiful husky named frosty before telling the owner of the shop we wanted to adopt and pay the $450 upfront, we had to wait for two other customers (all white) to finish their adoption process for their new puppies. Once it came down to our turn to try and get our process started the owner was so rude and asked me what did I do for a living , then asked me if she can do a home search to see how i live , not once did i hear her ask the other people the questions she was asking me , she let them basically pick a dog , sign paperwork, pay and boom .. the dog was theirs, but for me and my girlfriend she wanted to know where was the dog going to be indoors or outdoors, she also said that she had a problem with us taking the dog for adoption and that we were wasting her time by talking to her and that she didnt want our dog to be sent to a home located in South Central, LA . I dont know what type of people she thinks we are but why would we pay almost $500 for a puppy and waste more money on the dogs utilities if we were going to mistreat him? never in my life faced a form of racism in my life till I stepped my foot inside Fur Baby Rescue .
